Andante Coffee Roasters Review - Beverly Grove - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Andante Coffee Roasters has been a longtime favorite in the locally-run third-wave coffee scene, with its original location on Beverly Blvd right across from the traffic hazard we call Erewhon. Steve Hyun, Tommy Kim, and Jacob Park took over this location in 2012, and have since grown the business to Echo Park and DTLA, each maintaining the industrial minimal aesthetic. All of the coffee is locally roasted in Koreatown." - With Warm Welcome & Leslie Yeh

Popped into Andante Coffee Roasters on Beverly Blvd for a morning caffeine fix, and wow, this place lives up to its rep as a haven for coffee nerds! I ordered an Ethiopia pour-over and their barista horchata iced coffee, and both were absolute bangers. The Ethiopia pour-over was a total standout—bright, floral, with those juicy berry notes that just pop. You can tell they’re obsessive about their single-origin beans, and the barista’s precision in brewing made every sip feel like a craft experience. The horchata iced coffee was a fun twist—creamy, spiced, and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet like some places overdo it. The vibe here is spot-on: minimalist, modern, with warm wooden tones and clean lines. It’s the kind of place where you can hunker down with a laptop, crack open a book, or just have a chill chat without feeling rushed. Super quiet and focused, which I love for getting some work done. The staff were friendly but not in-your-face, and you can feel their passion for coffee in how they talk about the beans (they roast in-house, which is dope). Only downside? Parking on Beverly can be a bit of a hassle, so come early or be ready to circle for a spot. Also, the food menu’s pretty basic—pastries and toast—but you’re here for the coffee, not a full brunch spread. If you’re a coffee snob (like me) or just want a solid cup in a sleek, low-key space, Andante’s a must-visit. Already looking forward to my next pour-over!

When you enter, the atmosphere is real chill. The interior has hits of wood and the overall color is neutral. This is a good place to get a coffee, matcha, pastry, etc and get work done. My friend had a cinnamon roll and it looked AMAZING. Sadly they were sold out but I got to try this passion fruit danish and my mind was blown. It had a nice sweetness to it with a custardy texture. Might be one of the best danishes I’ve ever had. The filling was drooping out on each bite I took. My other friend got the matcha and said it was really good. Shout out to Josh for assisting us. Service was on point.

Cozy little coffee spot in Silverlake off of Sunset. Great pastries, and very kind/welcoming team members. We went in early on a sleepy Saturday. Cool, minimalist esthetic. Pastries were tasty and fresh. Coffee was great! But above all was the engaging and sweet team member. He was awesome. Took time to connect with us. Spent a moment to walk us through our options. He generally had a fun, and pleasant vibe even in between interacting with guests.

I visited Andante Echo Park location a few times and enjoyed my experiences. The south facing window lets natural light into the minimally decorated room and creates a warm, cozy atmosphere that is great for working, chatting or simply people watching by the window bar. Coffee was on point and service was friendly and fast.

Google
I got a green tea with toasted rice that was truly gorgeous. Apparently they get their matcha and green teas from a small grower in Japan. I wish I could've taken some home xox

Just stopped by for the morning coffee and it was a good experience. It was a nice corner store and atmosphere was good. We tried Latte ice & hot and I strongly recommend the ice drinks.

I have visited this coffee shop so many times! It’s a great study spot! I love the atmosphere and there are an infinite amount of outlets! I think it’s korean owned? I see different workers almost every time and they are all very handsome, pretty, and charming! The Spring Tonic is also DELICIOUS! You can tell they really care about the quality of their coffee ^^😊

Google
Great location in the well entrenched hip millennial Echo Park on Sunset. Pour over Guatemalan was rich and had lots of flavor ($4.25 eeek$) The sticker shock on today’s gen3 coffee houses is getting ridiculous imho. Free WiFi, small but ample indoor seating and a small out door bench. Normal mix of white millennials and their dogs as expected. I’m not saying anything is wrong with that... I’ve watched the Echo Park area gentrify since the financial crisis of 2008. It’s now in full bloom. Enjoy! Service was great, gracious and speedy for everyone I saw e coffee is really good. I’ll be back. I was going to leave and started to talk to Brandon (mgr of a few locations) incredibly knowledgeable about the entire LA coffee scene. He poured me a cup of their Colombian roast. Highly recommended. They roast their own beans in the Beverly location. Single origin and well roasted without bitter or burned taste. +1/2 star back for this service and attention to detail. 4.5 ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Yelp
Just wanted to shout out the best Cold Brew there ever was and will be. Undiluted, $3.50, magically strong. An absolute necessity in your battling modern life kit.

Yelp
I came on a Friday to meet with a friend and do some work. Parking can be a little difficult since it's all street parking. Lucky I found a parking spot down the street. First impression was the space is very minimalist and earthy tones. Now as far as seating goes it can get full quickly. I do like that there is outlets to do some work. I ordered a dirty ice chai tea latte with oatmilk. I personally don't have much to say on this drink I didn't really taste much of the chai but overall it was just okay. The guy who took my order seemed very chill and nonchalant so not much to say either. All in all, maybe I'll come back one day but given the parking situation and first impressions I wouldn't put an effort in trying.

Yelp
I started my morning off RIGHT by visiting Andante Coffee Roasters in DTLA! I got the house "Andante" and really loved it. It's a cold brew coffee with sweet cream & pink sea salt. The cream they use is so good & the pink sea salt was a nice little surprise. The barista was cute, fast, and easygoing! I thought it was cute how they had doggie treats in the front for visitors. The space itself is kinda small but they get the job done! Will be coming back next time i'm in the area

Yelp
Best matcha hands down. No sweetener, add agave. Fast service and a great place to grab coffee after a morning run.

Yelp
At this aptly named indie coffee joint, the BPMs are quite mellow, indeed. If you're in a hurry, this ain't the place. There's usually a lone fellow pleasantly doing his thing here, but it's quality stuff. I once asked for a pour over and, because the two guys in front of me had ordered pour-overs already, I was told it would take at least 10 min to get to mine. I pivoted to espresso instead. I've been in with another couple dudes behind the counter, and the pour over was *luke, at best* (Larry David voice). I had to ask for a redo. All in all, I'm glad they're here, but you have to buckle up, slow down, and get Zen. Time is just a construct of the protocapitalist industrial complex anyway, right?

Yelp
Great little coffee shop in Echo Park! Has wifi, restroom, charging outlets and tall seats. All coffee orders come in same small size though in case you are looking for large size! :( Wifi Pass for Andante: bestcoffeeinla
google avatar

Guillermo A.

Yelp
I love the echo park location. But please get rid of the you d lady. She cannot multitask. You are losing a lot of customers because of her line builds and people leave. She can't do espressos while she's making a pour overs. Thanks

Yelp
Super cute ambience and the barista was nice! This review is strictly for the matcha as it was pretty lackluster. For $7 (+$1 alt milk) I was expecting a more robust/vibrant green color and flavor especially considering the price point. Would love to come back to try their coffee sometime. :)
google avatar

Yelp
Will I return? Only if my pace is that of its name. It's taken its name seriously that it's allowed nomad workers to dictate the ambiance in the shop and unfortunately there is nothing moving about it. Coffee was satisfactory, the only valuable that had me allegro after I left that place.

Yelp
My latte was delicious. I found parking right in front and the service was fast, but the barista could have been friendly. I think that would have made the experience better. It doesn't hurt to smile or say "hi, welcome in." It wasn't my first choice but the other coffee shops I wanted to go to were super busy. I just wanted something quick and I saw this place on the corner and there was parking so, I made my way in. Not really much more to say than that.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
It has been a few months since I've been here and I've tried drinking their coffee which is tasty! I typically get their vanilla lattes. The staff are always friendly. Great for coffee, probably not a place to get any non coffee beverage.
google avatar

Tracy K.

Yelp
Randomly came here walking back to my car coming from the ice cream spot. This spot is street parking and you can park in residential areas. My best friend ordered the ginger tea and I ordered the unsweetened matcha latte. My BFF liked her tea but it tasted like every other ginger tea. My matcha was okay. I liked that there's tables where you can work and plug in your laptop. It was quiet for a Saturday afternoon.

Marie G.

Yelp
Jay makes the best iced matcha, thank you Jay! the people at PF love Andante and appreciate your great service!

Thessa V.

Yelp
Great coffee! Ethiopian is just divine and all the extras like cottages and tonics are also a great treat. Can't go wrong- whatever is your favorite go to drink is delivered masterfully.

Aldrich V.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great lighting inside, good place to do work, or just romanticize life while enjoying any of their delicious drinks and pastries. Jay is the best at making the drinks! All in all highly recommend ‍‍

Yelp
Instantly became a fan of this place. Because I'm addicted to sugar I got a Spanish Latte, delish! The guy at the counter was very nice and passionate about making coffees. I can work on my laptop and there is an electrical outlet, yay! Good vibes, some people working, some beautiful girls being beautiful, some people reading books. You'll find me here sometimes. 5 stars!

Jordan P.

Yelp
The coffee is amazing!! As good as it gets. Awesome vibes inside whether you're working or just hanging out. Baristas are kind and friendly!! Will be back again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
The horchata latte is amaaaazing! Order it, you won't regret it. Parking is annoying, but that's Echo Park for ya.

Yelp
Coffee was great and is a cool place to work. They do have outlets which is great! Do keep in mind that they do close relatively early at 3.

Yelp
Andante Coffee Roasters is conveniently located on Sunset Blvd near some bakeries... and other coffee places in case Andante is not to your companion's liking. Although, what is there not to like? Their Latte is strong and proportioned properly with the steamed milk - and super hot. The Hot Chocolate is great! Not sure what the barista used for the chocolate but it's really good. I couldn't decide if I was in the mood for a pour-over or latte and when I told the barista this, he gave me a sample of their Ethiopian blend and it was soooooo good: fruity, not too tart, no "burnt" flavor at all. Very fragrant. So I got that instead. The barista was alone but it doesn't matter - he was VERY quick. So glad Andante opend a branch here, because the downtown location, though was easy to find, was hard to "hit and run".

Yelp
Found this on a whim because I was ordering for takeout only anyway instead of my usual venture for a coffee shop to work at. Located on the corner of Mohawk and Sunset. Street parking! There was only one guy working and making drinks so expect to wait. I arrived at 1:40pm to order and slowly a line formed behind me even though the shop closes at 2pm. I ordered a Mohawk (espresso, oat milk, maple syrup), a vanilla latte, and a lavender honey latte. All 3 were really good. I was surprised. The espresso was strong enough without overpowering the other flavors. The lavender honey wasn't excessively floral tasting. I didn't need to adjust the sweetness on anything. Even with the ice melted, it didn't really get watery. 10 outta 10 would get again and recommend.

Yelp
Coffee (kaw*fee) (noun), a liquid that smells like a fresh ground heaven. Today is a new day for a new coffee shop review. Let's begin! Andante Coffee Roaster is a small coffee shop tucked in the corner of Mohawk St. and Sunset blvd in Echo Park neighborhood. They have two other locations one in DTLA and in K-Town. I came here on a cloudy, cool Thursday morning. Indoor vibe/atmosphere was chill and relaxing and inviting. Interior design and layout was well conceived and plenty of natural light. I was warmly greeted by the barista. I perused their non extensive coffee list (clip board) and decided to get a Cortado. Not too many folks know what it is. Well let me illuminate you for a bit. A cortado is a popular smaller-sized hot coffee beverage that contains espresso and warm milk. The balance between the espresso and milk is 1:1, (about half espresso, half milk). This amount of milk primarily serves to reduce the acidity of the espresso. It's also important to note that the warm milk in the cortado is steamed, but it doesn't have as much froth or milk foam as other Italian coffee beverages. ------------ Keep in mind that due to its permanently set smaller size, altering or customizing the size of the drink is often a non-negotiable factor. Anyway, I had the pleasure to start my day with a Cortado. They have a few selected pastries for you to enjoy. Prices were competitive for the hipster neighborhood. Their service was fast and on point. Street parking only and it can be very limited and tricky given it's location. Overall, my experience was met with a decorous conduct and satisfaction. Thus, I recommend this coffee shop.

Yelp
Top-notch coffee. Mellow-modern vibes. Friendly service. What more do you want in a neighborhood cafe? Our dog loves the treats by the door as well.

Yelp
I had seen their other locations but they were more of a hassle to get to. This location has street parking available. We went midday during the week and parking wasn't an issue at all. We walked over and I have to say, I was not expecting the inside to look as it did. Its minimal, but with a lot of natural light coming in, it felt strangely cozy. We ordered an oat milk latte and a matcha latte, both iced. Both were great. I loved my matcha, it wasn't too sweet at all, wasn't grainy, and it was flavorful. The coffee latte was also perfectly balanced and smooth. There's neighboring bakeries and shops you can easily walk over to and find accompaniments for your drinks. Overall, a good place for coffee and matcha. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Ambiance: Modern, chill vibes Great place to work or catchup Service: Quick The Baristas are super friendly and helpful. They make the coffee quick and tasty. I recently ordered the Macha Latte and asked for it to be slightly sweet instead of sugar or no sugar added, and they made it perfect. Coffee: Their coffee is of high quality. I love getting both their drip and espresso shots black. Seating: Plenty They even have large shareable tables where you'll find most people are quietly working. Parking: Meter and residential Perks: Has tons of outlets and a great spot for getting work done. Their wifi never fails.

Yelp
Dirty barista was great, the cinnamon really came out in the drink, maple wasn't to sweet at all, great mix all around, the aesthetic of the drink was pleasant
google avatar

Mei E.

Yelp
Stopped by to try this spot right before attending the Silverlake Flea this week and will be coming back next time I'm in the area!! My partner and I got the Dirty Barista Horchata and the Mohawk. The horchata was great, but the Mohawk is what really sold us on this place. Probably my favorite latte that I've had in LA!! Just the right amount of milk to espresso ratio and the maple syrup had a great amount of sweetness but not overwhelmingly so (which is a problem I run into a lot with lattes). Cute interior, just wish they had outdoor seating!

Caroline J.

Yelp
The service was so good, he took the time to find me a drink that I absolutely loved ! Let me sample the horchata and it was soo yummy ! Coffee tasted great as well!

Yelp
3rd wave/specialty coffee roaster in LA with a unique espresso flavor If you're dependent on coffee this is the place for you cause the coffee is hella strong Solid barista team for sure Echo Park especially location is of my personal favorite coffee shops in LA Downtown location is great too! But Echo is more of a work space while downtown is more limited on seating.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and service! Andante is located right across from complex with the Starbucks and Habit on Sunset Blvd. Parking is easy - either metered right out front or free on the side streets. I stopped in before 9 on a Friday. I was in and out within 2 minutes. The barista was kind and offered recommendations. I landed on the Iced Mohawk (extra sweet). It was delicious! Food options are scarce if you're vegan or vegetarian. They do have some scones, but no savory options. Will be back!!
google avatar

Bokyoung Y.

Yelp
I love the vibes on Sunset Blvd. honestly there are so many coffee places along the street, this is one of my favorite! Their coffee is always good, i love A cup of iced latte particularly. I just wish there were sitting or tables outside. But it seems like this place is more like neighborhood friendly place that people live near walk by. Though there was no sitting at all outside, i just grabbed a coffee and walked neighborhood, enjoyed my Saturday morning. *tip : there's silverlake flea market nearby every weekend, walkable distance. Grab a coffee and walk & vibe the neighborhood
google avatar

Bess S.

Yelp
I usually go to the one on sunset since I love their lattes so much and they're always consistent. My go to drinks are a hot vanilla latte or iced honey latte. Both are so delicious and I feel like they have the right amount of sweet (at least to me! Some might think it's too sweet maybe). This time, I tried the lavender honey latte with oat milk and I loved it! Next time, I'll probably try a chai latte or mohawk. I'm already planning my next drink there, that's how excited I am to go back and how much I love this place lol and the lady that worked there was very friendly and welcoming. I also noticed they had some pastries (a variety of croissants for the most part and muffins I believe). I did not try any but they looked pretty good! I went there on a Sunday at around 11am, and it was not too busy. I'm not sure if parking is usually tough but my friend and I got lucky and found a spot on Mohawk St.
google avatar

Cari A.

Yelp
I ordered a hot, honey lavender latte. It was super yummy. Pros: -the barista did some latte art on my drink -yummy lates -pay with credit/tip on credit -if you're cheap like me, you can usually find parking in the residential area up the hill -I didn't study here but multiple people were camped out on the tables Cons: -n/a
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Came here with 2 other friends on a Friday early afternoon and was surprised to see the cafe pretty empty. I got the tonic honey espresso (~$6.25) while my friends got a hot latte and an iced americano. The espresso tonic was served in a 12oz cup, which in my opinion, made it slightly pricey at the above $6 price tag. But the flavour was absolutely spot on and refreshing for the day (it was over 95 degrees outside). One of the best espresso tonics around, slightly citrusy and fizzy from the tonic water and the beans they used. I was sad when I finished the drink. The staff were super friendly, we spotted a couple of dogs and there was a treats jar for them! Wifi is available, a good amount of tables and the restroom is also clean. Would return in the future, taking a star off just because I thought it was a little pricey for me as a student, but a great experience.

Yelp
Really good quality coffee. It was strong and gave me energy all day. Loved the lavender. The place is so beautifully lit with natural sunlight and is very dog friendly. Our doggie got to have some free snacks. This place has her barks of approval.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Loved my iced coffee. Barista was a bit cold and unfriendly. I said hello, and he just asked if I was ready. Would've been nice to have a warmer welcome.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
LOVED this place. Our guatemala pour over was great, gentleman behind counter was kind and courteous. The best part was that tons of dogs were in and out and each dog was so well behaved. Every dog was so chill, minded their own business, didn't acknowledge other dogs... reminded me of coffee shops in Seoul where dogs just sit in the cafes with their humans. Perfection. Will definitely frequent. Oh! Also great tables for working. Seriously, loved it!
google avatar

Mai E.

Yelp
I wish this place had longer hours! The only reason I discovered this place was because I was having brunch nearby and decided to walk over after. I got my usual iced latte with oat milk, and it was delicious. The space inside is also very nice, with a warm minimalistic vibe. If only this place was open beyond 2 pm, I would come here all the time to work.
google avatar

Alec S.

Yelp
Chill small coffee shop in Echo Park. Atmosphere is nice. Decent spot to stop by and get a coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
I love coming here for the horchata latte. The taste is just so good, and worth the $6. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Just bought the beans, Guatemala SHB. Excellent stuff. Description said "chocolate, plum, brown sugar" and sure enough, that's what it tasted like. Excited to return and try more.
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Great coffee. Professional and polite service. Great cafe design. One of the best on the east side of L.A.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Stopped by for a latte while waiting for my car at the carwash down the street. One guy working and the place was slammed. The guy was a machine. Fast, efficient and knocking drinks out like a champ. The coffee and service were great. I'll be back.
google avatar

Veronica M.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite coffee shop in the Los Angeles area. The drink is always consistent in its flavor, and coffee/milk ratio. Super delicious. Seating is seemingly always available and there are outlets all across the wall so it's a great place to get some work done. Not to mention they have free wifi! The baristas are always really nice! The bathroom is super clean! Definitely check this place out.
google avatar

Kayla D.

Yelp
I came, I sipped, I conquered. ANDANTE Exterior. Minimalistic , simple. Interior. Severely simple. Location. Conveniently located, I was extremely lucky with parking. Service. 5 STARS - Fast, Easy Peasy. Smiling Faces. Price. Normal for the area. It didn't stand out to me 4.75 for a iced latte. I would come by here again, but only if I were in the area.
google avatar

Joi R.

Yelp
Nice shop. Open space, clean, industrial style. Music was blaring enough to cause mild head pains, and prevent you from hearing your thoughts. Ordered the Mint Matcha with almond milk...it was very bland and overpriced, with just a tiny hint of mint. The "barista", guy with tattoos was sooo not friendly, guess I should have kept my smile to myself. Never knew silence could be so abrasive...Ouch.
google avatar

Pablo M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get coffee before (and during coronavirus). Wear a mask, practice social distancing, and grab a delicious cup of coffee on the go.
google avatar

Bassel N.

Yelp
Great place! Coffee is good, the cold brew is a little too bitter and strong so is the espresso but that is not a bad thing if you like it that way. Definitely great quality of beans! Prices are pretty normal for a coffee house. Food selection is okay, the pastry selection is pretty limited by the time I get here and the "healthy" options are overpriced as usual, but none of them look that appealing anyway (as usual when it comes to healthy food options at coffee shops) The location is pretty strategically placed in the heart of Echo Park on Sunset Blvd. Parking is a tough one, Mohawk street has some free parking jf you can find it. Its an amazing place to work as there is TONS of power outlets and not a lot of people walk in (compared to the starbucks across the street) so you can get a good amount of work done and stay focused. Overall one of the better coffee/work places ive been to!
