The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India

"Open for: All day Price Range: $$ Delhi’s favorite thali restaurant is a bustling, raucous affair that dishes out more than 3,000 plates a day. Andhra Bhavan brings home-style cooking from the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh — the home of some of the spiciest food in the country — to diners in the capital. Get a thali, which consists of rice, pooris (deep-fried flatbreads), and two kinds of lentils, along with fragrant sambhar (lentils cooked with vegetables) and the spicy tamarind soup known as rasam. Like other thali specialists, the restaurant offers unlimited vegetables, as well as chutneys made from beetroot, yam, and okra.  Best for: A Sunday afternoon when you’ve got an empty stomach. Custom demands you eat several portions and finish everything on your plate." - Sharanya Deepak

"Traditional Andhra Breakfast at AP Bhavan Andhra Pradesh Bhavan (or AP Bhavan), as the name suggests, offers traditional dishes from the state of Andhra Pradesh. AP Bhavan is absolutely packed on weekends with lines of 100+ people waiting for an authentic taste of thalis and biryani. The space is more like a canteen instead of restaurant and an unlimited thali will cost under $2/person. Biryani is served on Sundays, but visit by noon. There is very little elbow room past 1pm."

Has not changed in 20 years and I hope it never does. One of the best meals to be had in Delhi, for an incredibly low price. A paramount example of efficiency while maintaining quality. Definitely worth a visit every time you're in the area. If you liked my review please give me a thumbs up 👍🏾 to let me know! Follow me for more fun reviews. 🙏🏾

Limited menu but tasty food. I went around 12:15 pm on Friday which was a good decision because the place was already almost full but they have like 15-20 staff to manage the service. So the food is tasty and service is really good. Clean washroom. Ambiance is basic but i was there for food so it’s ok.

Food is main attraction of Andhra Bhavan. Saturday and Sunday have new movie shows free of cost on first come first serve basis so another cap in its feather. Shops in and around sell magazines and Andhra Special foods. May and June GI tagged Andhra mangoes are also available for sale. A small mandir is also there inside . There is also fish aquarium inside. South Indian sarees and other stuff also on sale inside. One thali is unlimited food . Rice puri and vegetables including rasam and sambar can be had any number of times. Gunpowder(kandipodam) Awataar and congregate generally available on the table with melted ghee.Non veg items like chicken curry and fry are available . mutton and chicken biryani is also on the menu. They need to be ordered separately.

Authentic Andhra Food at Its Best! If you’re craving real South Indian flavors in Delhi, this place is perfect. The vegetarian thali is super tasty and unlimited—just like home-cooked food. Non-veg lovers should try their chicken or mutton fry—spicy and full of flavor! It’s clean, fast, and affordable. Gets crowded during lunch hours, but totally worth the wait.

Immerse yourself in the flavors of Andhra Pradesh with a full meal experience at this bustling canteen. The first thing you'll notice is the vibrant crowd, and a 15-30 minute wait is common. But for those seeking genuine Andhra cuisine, the anticipation is part of the charm. Their generous thali unfolds with roti (dinner) or poori (afternoon), followed by rice, accompanied by a delightful array of daal, sabji, chutney, curd, a sweet, rasam, and sambhar. Enhance your meal with flavorful chicken or mutton side dishes. Once a Sunday treat, their highly sought-after biryani is now available every day.

I recently visited Andhara Bhawana and tried both veg and non-veg dishes. While the veg food was actually good, the non-veg was extremely disappointing. I ordered a chicken dish for ₹220 and got only 4 tiny pieces of chicken. That’s way too little for the price. On top of that, the taste was bland and flavorless — no proper spices, no richness, just a boring and dry chicken dish. If you’re a non-vegetarian planning to eat here, please don’t waste your money. This place clearly doesn’t care about non-veg quality or value.
