Andiamo Restaurant + Bar opened its North Andover location last week. The place has a modern atmosphere with high ceilings, full U-shaped bar with high chair seating 3 TVs, sectioned areas with tables and booths and an open kitchen concept. Upbeat music pumps over the speakers.
Like the other locations, the dinner menu offerings include Italian American dishes such as pasta, steaks, seafood, chicken, burgers, salads, flatbreads, appetizers, desserts, and a kids menu. A brunch menu is offered on Sundays. They also have a bar menu with wine list, signature cocktails and beer. The prices here are moderate to high.
I stopped in at Andiamo Restaurant + Bar in North Andover for dinner recently. The dining room was half full on a Monday night and I took a seat up at the bar to catch the Bruins game on TV. Upbeat music was playing over the speakers, but I heard "Bones" by Maren Morris played three times during my visit, which is actually a good thing. The bartender brought over some ice water and menus.
For a starter, I started out with the Eggplant Stack ($15 plus tax), a stack of crispy baked eggplant slices, cauliflower ricotta, pomodoro sauce, & zucchini noodles, served slightly warm and grated cheese was offered. This appetizer was a great choice, good flavors, and not too heavy. I was also served complementary soft bread with oil, garlic, and spices to dip, which was very good.
For a dinner entree, the Duck Carbonara ($24 full size plus tax) served in a bowl with egg paparadelle noodles, pork belly, crisp pancetta, tender duck confit, wild mushrooms, firm green peas, and shaved parmigiano in a rich cream sauce. This pasta dish was filling and had good flavors. I did chew on a thick bone piece though. I requested a box half way through and passed on the dessert offer since I already had a big ice cream cookie sandwich at The Cookie Monstah earlier.
The check was $41.73 with tax and before tip. Overall, a nice place for food and drinks with a lively modern atmosphere. I will have to come back for Sunday brunch!
