We were at Detroit Metro Airport and stopped at Andiamo Italian for a quick lunch. My wife had the ravioli, and I ordered the chicken panini—both dishes were of good quality. Not quite high-end Italian, but definitely solid and satisfying for airport fare. The real standout was the chocolate cake—rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the meal. Service was just okay. The staff weren’t particularly friendly, but they got the job done. Prices were reasonable for an airport setting. Overall, a decent place to grab a bite if you’re flying through DTW

Google
In a regular setting, this would probably land around a 3.2—but for airport dining, Andiamo holds its own. Expectations were low going in (as they usually are when traveling), and this place did just fine. My wife had the caprese salad—fresh, simple, and enjoyable. I went with the burger, which our waitress recommended. It was decent: slightly overcooked and the bun a bit dry, but overall it got the job done. Yes, it’s overpriced—but it’s an airport, so that’s par for the course. All in all, it was a decent spot to grab a bite during a layover. Four stars, mostly because we walked in with realistic expectations.

Google
Dropped in here for lunch, there were plenty of tables available, you seat yourself. Table service was excellent with a great server. The food was good, but the pizzas are small. A bit pricey for the portion size, but it is an airport restaurant, so expected. Will drop by again when at DTW.

Google
Pizza was horrifyingly worse than microwave pizza. I was so hungry, i had to eat it with shame. I don't often review... But I was seriously upset by this $23 pizza. Nope. Drinks were terrible too.

Louis

Google
Giving this place two stars solely due to the friendly and caring service. The food was absolutely terrible, and our server made it right in the end, even without us asking for anything. We still ate our food because we needed to make our flights, but it was all really bad. We were told that the manager was looking into it to address the issues, and I hope that they do. With charging $30 for a pasta and $20 for a personal size pizza, they have to be good, despite it being an airport restaurant. Hopefully they can address the issues and provide food that is on par with the great service.

Google
*Avoid!!! $109 for a pizza, Alfredo and a beer* At first glance it seems to be your typical airport restaurant. The waitress who thinks she is funny is in fact very condescending, but we went with it due to a time crunch between flights. We split a pizza and a chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The chicken was tough and nasty, couldn’t even eat it. The pasta and Alfredo sauce was more like a soup. The pizza was either fine or it was the last option being the Alfredo sucked that much. Don’t go in. When I called to get a breakdown of the cost, the number is disconnected.

Google
It's airport food, no need to have super high expectations. We ordered the Guiseppe pizza and it was more crust than pizza. There was barely any sausage and the sauce was barely there as well. The fettuccine was ok but the sauce has a taste I couldn't quite place that just made it taste off. I also dislike having to scan a QR code for a menu. The service was nice and quick on the refills at least.

Google
DO NOT go here if you are looking for a decent sized meal to share with your family, with a whopping cost of around $20 per fancy-masquerade pizza basically akin to a Junior or Small size from something like Hungry Howies. While service was friendly and the pizza had enough good taste to enjoy the 2 bites you might get per piece, it’s just not worth paying $45+ just for an expensive teacher’s End Of Year party slice with a box over twice the size of this poor malnutritioned pizza. You are better off holding your nose and going for a cheaper fast food place nearby where at least you’ll just feel the usual “Oh this is airport expensive” and not immediate regret upon first glance at the oversized pizza boxes and not even any condiments or napkins to make you feel better.

Yelp
It's warm. The ambience is great. The food was delicious and affordable. I have a three hour layover to LAX. I need a place to sit and chill. This is the place I decided. To top it, my server TRANG is super super cool and funny ok good looking, caring, inviting, very knowledgeable. She makes me and everybody else in this place feel very welcome. Give her a raise. She's a blessing and a kind of personality that is very invigorating. The type of person I would hire or hang out with.

Yelp
I ordered frutti de Mare. The pasta came very hard, poorly cooked. I asked them to redo it. However, they made me wait an hour and it came back even worse. The pasta was still hard and sauce had no taste at all. It is supposed to have scallop but there were none. This dish costs 51$ and they think it is fine without scallop??? The chef has no attitude. If they cannot remake it, they should be honest rather than making us wait for an hour and gave us the worse dish than the first one. This restaurant is a scam.

Yelp
Pleasant space. Got a Caesar salad which was okay. They did give a lot of shaved Parmesan. No anchovy. The lasagna looked promising as they used bechamel and house made pasta and it was pleasant. Prices are high typical of an airport restaurant. They make a fool old fashioned. Nothing great, nothing bad, just pleasant

Brooke N.

Yelp
We were in hour 6 of delays so tried to find something kid friendly to eat. They were nice enough to make a plain cheese pizza for my kids, but it tasted like gas station quality pizza. Prices were on par with other airport restaurants, but still feels like highway robbery. Service was relatively quick and our server was very friendly (bordering on too friendly).

Yelp
Flew to New Jersey Sunday. Flew from New Jersey to Michigan Tuesday night. Was on a plane back to SFO Wednesday night. It was rough. I wasn't able to sleep and had to cope w/ the humidity. So glad to come across this restaurant. I was hungry since I didn't get to eat that day. I follow the Buddhist Lunar calendar and wanted to stick to not eating meat Wednesday/Thursday. I skimmed the menu and found what I could order. My server was a delight. The Caesar Salad was good; fresh! The ravioli was filling and so creamy. That meal lasted me till I got home. My diet soda was refilled. I didn't have to ask for anything. I was skeptical because airport eats are usually abysmal, but I had a good time and would definitely stop by next time I fly back from DTW.

Yelp
You're in the airport, it's a lawless place, and food is always going to be more expensive because you're basically trapped. DTW....honestly the Subway in terminal A is the restaurant to beat. A 6:30 am Turkey sub still has me dreaming about that subway...but the Subway wasn't near where I was. It seems this section between gates 30 and 20 just has some dismal dining options. So I decided to just suck it up and do some Italian in the airport because why not? You get there and you can seat yourself. The menu is not extensive but okay. I was torn between the pizza and the ravioli. I chose the ravioli and I have to say it was pretty good. They do claim to make their own noodles. My server really didn't have much to do with me. Maybe because I didn't order a drink?? My service was super mediocre. This place does not offer complimentary bread. They have a bread basket for purchase. I had to ask for it. That could have been an easy upsell. The rolls were pretty good they were crusty and a little dry. They have been doused in olive oil a little bit of cracked pepper, and I think cornmeal. They were messy and the butter was rock hard, not spreadable at all. You get four rolls for $7.50 ish... They offer two desserts...cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake or tuxedo cake probably the same cake that you can find at Olive Garden. The server just slapped my check down and okay...guess I'm not having dessert... She didn't ask me if I wanted any. That's money out of your pocket...and the restaurants bottom line. I bought candy next door.

Yelp
bad pizza. of course expensive--- even for an airport. service good. need more characters

Yelp
I just had the best service here from Cindy N. She was kind, courteous, helpful, friendly, and all of the above. I've never ever had better service inside an airport restaurant. We were recommended this restaurant from a guy who sat next to us on the plane. We are so happy we came in. This place had the healthiest options out of all the airport food we passed by. It was delicious! My only gripe would be that the menu stated heirloom tomatoes and these tomatoes were not, but because Cindy was so awesome, I didn't even care. The restaurant also had a full bar and was exceptionally clean!

Joseph B.

Yelp
Stopped here on an early morning layover. Decent airport eatery. Breakfast dishes are few but delicious. I had the Tuscan breakfast. Very good. The coffee was a 4 out of 5 too. If you have a layover In Detroit this sure beats Cinnabons.

Dave M.

Yelp
Surprising find in terminal A of the Detroit airport. Service is fast, friendly and very helpful. The Meatball app is fantastic, great sauce, the meatball had great natural flavor. Went with the Consiglieri pizza - no veggies, we'll done and it was excellent.

Wood W.

Yelp
Best meal at the airport! Friendly server, gave good advice. Un-airport-like atmosphere.

Ophelia M.

Yelp
During a recent layover, I needed some dinner and was happy to find Andiamo right near my gate. Quick tip: If there's no one occupying the host station, then it's a seat yourself situation. Myself and others stood there for a bit before someone told us. That said, upon being seated, my order was taken swiftly. I got their caesar salad with salmon added. The caesar itself was delish but the salmon was just ok. I also ordered an old fashioned, which was pitch perfect (not too sweet, plenty of bourbon kick). Both my beverage and food orders came out quickly (important in an airport restaurant) and my server was lovely. Prices were high, but, hey, it's an airport restaurant--aren't they always?

Gulzada A.

Yelp
Pizza was very bad. The dough was fighting back. I'm sure it was not fresh dough. Wouldn't get the pizza if I were you. The server was sweet though.

Alissa G.

Yelp
I was so pleasantly surprised to see Andiamo at the airport. We were starving and wanted good food. My husband, son, and I decided to sit at the pizza oven bar. We had THE best sausage and banana pepper pizza. The crust was crispy, the sauce was tasty, and the toppings were mouth watering! The only thing better was the service we got from the pizza man (wish I got his name). He took pride in his work, was extremely attentive to us, and kept his area clean. I was so impressed with him. He made our dining experience so enjoyable. Andiamo is lucky to have him. Sunday, June 9 at noon in case management wants to give this man praise!

Lauren A.

Yelp
I had a delicious "build your own" breakfast bowl here served in a timely, conscious manner by a very hospitable, kind bartender. This was my first time in the Detroit airport, and this restaurant really made a wonderful first impression in every way: timeliness and attention to supplying you with all the to go equipment you need when you realize you lost track of time and your flight is boarding. My breakfast scramble was fresh, delicious and exactly as ordered. Bravo and thank you!

Taxi G.

Yelp
Score based totally on the meatballs and soup Are you crazy? The meatballs taste like eucalyptus and aside from sausage in the soup(sausage cannellini and escarole or kale?)it's either been cooking for 2/3 days or canned. Waiter is super friendly and fast I'm not a traveler so I stoped at every place in the A terminal most have no prices on items or want you to download a QR code. It's like eating in a mall food court but your actually in a restaurant. I feel bad for frequent flyers

Bob F.

Yelp
Good pizza, nice service, ambiance was good. For airport restaurant, it was excellent. I was shocked by the $30 spaghetti & meatballs but airport prices are always high. We chose pizza & it was very good!

Judy B.

Yelp
Stopped in for brief fill up before flight to Las Vegas. Waiter was excellent!! Had a tasty spicy Bloody Mary and a large single meatball with sauce. Highly recommend Andiamo!

Isaac S.

Yelp
The burger was $20 with cheese and an absolute hockey puck. Good service at the bar but an unfortunate dining experience.

Carissa A.

Yelp
This is a better eat in terms of airport food. Service was a decent pace. And the food tastes good. There is a brick oven used to cook pizza which is surely a perk. I had ordered the Andiamo burger. It was the bare minimum okay. Perhaps similar to a typical Applebee's just more expensive. The place itself is slightly classier than an Applebee's or Rubt Tuesday, however, might just be because it's partially an Italian restaurant. By default, I might go back.

Sydney F.

Yelp
The pizza was great. I loved the dough. Not bad at all for airport food. If you find yourself in the Detroit airport, it's a pretty decent dinner!

Amethyst W.

Yelp
The food was mediocre. The service was fine. Both were not as good as a real Andiamo's I wish we eating at a restaurant outside of the airport. The pasta was a bit too chewy and the seafood was over cooked. It was okay for needing a place to stop at, but definitely not planning to make this stop here a habit.

George A.

Yelp
Food is mediocre and expensive. However the worst is the service. After ordering my dinner and not even started on my drink, our waiter decided that it was cool to rush us to pay for our food, despite being 9 PM and clearly told her to leave us be. We received very snarky responses and a lot of attitude, to the point of really feeling uncomfortable. We paid and left right away - it's disappointing how entitled some people in the service industry are - without paying customers I wonder how these places will remain open...

Steve Z.

Yelp
Always a great breakfast at Andiamo's in the Detroit Metro Airport. Yummy yummy!!!!!

Aracely C.

Yelp
One of the few restaurants that open around 6:30am. I wanted to have a good meal before flying to California. I didn't want to order food from the small café shops. I saw their menu before getting a seat and it sounded promising. The restaurant was almost empty and there were a few tables that were dirty. I did see one waitress attending, cleaning, and bringing orders to the tables. Once seated I scanned the QR code and started to browse their breakfast options. Not a whole lot but I had my eye on a frittata. I placed my order with the waitress and relaxed before my order was brought out. The atmosphere was a nice chill vibe, it was a little dirty and it was not busy. My husband didn't want to eat anything, so it was just me this time. My meal was okay, nothing special but it was very satisfying. The portion was big enough where I couldn't finish my meal. Overall, I had a pleasant nice meal that left me satisfied before sitting on an airplane for 4 hours.

Christa M.

Yelp
We finally settled for this restaurant in a terminal of overpriced restaurants. My friend and I shared a pizza. It was on the small size for the price. Was hoping for more wood fired oven flavor, but wasn't getting it. The pizza was okay.

Katie H.

Yelp
For airport food, it was fine. I'm giving three stars because my waitress was AWESOME, I probably would only give it 2 if it weren't for her. She was very attentive, checked up on me, and was helpful when I asked questions about the menu. There was an older couple next to me who did not understand QR code's, and she was incredibly patient. 5/5 The food itself- the salad was literally a hunk of lettuce. I've never had a salad I've had to completely cut up before. The pizza was okay, but pretty soggy in the middle and the toppings slipped off a lot. Food 2/5.

Brink M.

Yelp
I don't know what this is, other than extreme disappointment. Look at the other pics of this pizza... why was mine so small and crappy looking? I asked the server and they said "that's always been our pizza size and look"...... does that look like the others? Terrible. I showed him a Yelp pic of other larger sized pizzas with more toppings and he told me "this isn't our pizza" and I showed him it was most certainly Andiamo A gate 30. He just pretended like I was lying and walked away. Watched the pizza maker just leave this pizza in the box with the lid open for 5 minutes, server never came to deliver it to me. I walked up myself to pick up my COLD pizza and I have never been more unhappy with an airport dish.

Linda Z.

Yelp
For an airport restaurant it's quite good! Fast service good drinks and food. A go to for myself as a frequent flyer out of Detroit metro!

Bobby S.

Yelp
Got seated right in and Suzanne had me a beer inside of 5 minutes of entering the place. Then I got the Andiamo's burger. This blend of brisket, chick and angus sirloin ( I think that's what it was) was DELICIOUS!! It came out quickly and did I mention it was delicious?!? Suzanne was on point and so was the food. I'll be back next time through Detroit.

Adam P.

Yelp
Ive been traveling in and out od Detroit airport since January 2024 - I have made this place my go to for lunch/dinner. I am a celiac, and for an Italian place to have a great selection of GF pasta and pizza options is really appreciated. Great atmosphere, and excellent service. Amanda at the bar is always a pleasure. She's always pleasant, quick with the order, and patient with requests. Her demeanor helps alleviate the stress and strain of air travel. Great place to hang out!

Mandy S.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible. The bartender (black guy with dreds) was awful. Intentionally did the absolute minimum to work. Barely said two words, not friendly, didn't smile. I left my card sitting on the bar for him to pay the tab and he left it there until I called him twice. Ignored me the first time. Other patrons looked at me and shook their heads. Just awful service. If you don't want to be in service then go work in computers or something. Good grief what a miserable experience! Oh and the food sucked too. I ordered calamari and it was hard. Yes, not chewy, not tender - hard! At least the Moscow mule got me through the experience.

Lara C.

Yelp
Don't expect the chicken sandwich to actually have pesto, onions, and kale as advertised on the menu. It is basically just cheese, chicken and aioli.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Fast for a quick flight. They made a salad to go very fast. First time I've done that

Kella P.

Yelp
What great service at this restaurant and definitely a step above other airport fare. Sat at the bar, which had a plug for me to use my laptop while I eat. The Detroit airport Wi-Fi worked pretty well. The bartender recommended the tortellini, and paired it with this white wine for me. It was a good pairing, and the food was a generous portion. The cream sauce was rather rich, my only wish was that it would have more spinach and mushrooms. The menu says the pasta is fresh made, but it didn't seem as delicate as homemade pasta. Mine was rather firm, not sure if it was the age of the dough or that it wasn't cooked to perfection... This is a great place to spend your layover.

Laurie M.

Yelp
I always find the salads very good at this restaurant. The service is quick and polite. The ambiance is nice for an airport restaurant. Whenever I am DTW airport I stop in at this establishment. Much better than a fast food meal.

Julie H.

Yelp
I have loved this restaurant for many years but moved away from Detroit and still miss it. I always stop in when I'm at the airport and it's such a treat! Today I ordered the meatball with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. It's so delicious and the perfect amount of food before getting on a plane. The price is so reasonable also! I also ordered two lasagna dinners to go to surprise my husband for dinner tonight! How fun to have our favorite food from Detroit at our home in Charleston. The staff is friendly here too and the restaurant is clean and spacious.

BY D.

Yelp
Great food and service! Highly recommend the meatballs! Pleasant ambience for pre-flight dinner.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Needed a quick bite between flights. Pasta tasted like microwave pasta. But hey, at least I didn't have diarrhea afterwards.

MR K.

Yelp
Weird experience at this restaurant. Went in with the intention of ordering 2 drinks and an appetizer. One of us ordered a beer and the other ordered a "well" vodka soda. The server was infrequently when we sat down and inattentive. We told her we were deciding on food. She walked back and forth to other customers at the restaurant and never came back to us to ask what we decided on. Eventually we ordered another beer and at that time, we ordered calamari. When the calamari eventually arrived, we asked for hot sauce (from a different server) and it never came. Also, the calamari was served in a metal tin container and when it arrived, we were initially pleased because the contents appeared to be overflowing from it. As we started eating the calamari, we noticed there was very little calamari and a lot of fried pepper slices. Not only that, as we were eating the appetizer, we were disappointed to discover the tin container was actually filled with a crumpled piece of tissue paper or parchment paper, half way to the top, and the calamari and fried peppers were added. Please be aware that the container is not a true representation of what you think you might be ordering. It's actually half the size. Not only that, but when the check came, there were 3 line items of the same beer AND, even though we asked for "well" vodka, they charged us for Tito's. That was the first time I've ever been charged for Tito's and ordered "well". When we brought it to the servers attention, she said "oh, she gave me a COMPLETELY wrong check". She returned with only 1 beer removed. Bummer experience before getting on a long flight.

Eden M.

Yelp
I come through DTW often for layovers. This place is just merely aesthetically pleasing. The service lacks majorly. All the staff seemed bothered and barely want to wait on you. Only nice one is Dawn. I felt rushed all 3x I've visited this past month. Most recent trips I got an overpriced 20 dollar Tito's Bloody Mary that the bartender described as house made. Def not house made if you pour it out of a bottle. Felt rushed to drink it. Food wise I got the French fries which were great. Then got a Caesar salad topped with salmon sans the cheese. If you like frozen salmon then order it. It's presentation looked sloppy and it's taste even worst. I just ate the lettuce and croutons. On this trip ordered water and sat at the bar to watch the games. You could tell the bartenders weren't pleased with this choice. This is an airport bar people sometimes sit an hour at least make them feel welcomed.

Richie L.

Yelp
Don't bother. Very limited menu. Nothing really exciting. And definitely NOT the true taste of Italy..

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
The meatball with homemade ricotta is extraordinary! The service is great, especially for an airport restaurant. Ambiance is average, but food is fantastic!

Lee S.

Yelp
Ordinarily, I'm not impressed with airport cuisine. Here, I make an exception...or, rather, they are an exception. Much better than average - salads and sandwiches. As with most, burgers are overcooked to medium/medium well.

Charles C.

Yelp
Looked at the DTW choices for better food and like most airports slim mostly 3 stars and the one four star I had before and liked but wanted to try something different and found a 3.5 and was up for a little Italian, why not. The menu was a bit limited but figure oaky airport so what to expect, weNt for Lasagne and a draft beer. Beer: 4 stars that is hard to screw up beside the aIrport value pricing. Lasagne was surprisingly good, came with nothing else, airport value pricing but the meat and sauce and pastaa was very good, not like airport food. All the people eating pizza were missing out, sadly the pasta choice were limiting so I'd only come back for Lasagne, what I saw others eating didn't look like they were special or worth it, but Lasagna and brew rocked if 35 bucks is a value for you!

Franco C.

Yelp
Really good option for airport food. We liked the options, service and seasoning. Service was friendly AND fast. Some places do one but not both. Our waitress was attentive, cordial and had our food ready very quickly. On to the food. I had the chicken ciapatta. Decent size that is good to keep your stomach satisfied and still not extremely overfilling. Chicken was seasoned with olive oil and pesto. Decent fries. We also had Margherita pizza. Good size for one person. A bit salty and it felt it was assembled vs cooked all together. This was our least favorite item. Moma chop salad was good, large and tasty. Fresh ingredients, lots of chicken, salami, avocado. Very good option if you are on the healthier side.

Michael L.

Yelp
Fast courteous service, with a clean seating area. Excellent breakfast food and a variety of drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic). I had the Tuscan breakfast, over easy because it can be made dairy-free. No complaints; it's the best place I've eaten at in DTW.

David S.

Yelp
If you have a layover in Detroit Metropolitan Airport more than an hour and a half you must go to Andiamo. Great pastas and pizzas! No need to get into great details of what I ate versus what your going to enjoy! Buan Appetito!
