This charming Korean folk village, set against the backdrop of a scenic river, offers a truly beautiful experience. Visitors can even dress up in traditional hanbok, adding to the authenticity of the visit. Highly recommended!

A well preserved Hanok village, showing how the houses and streets were like back in the days. Some people are still living there so be considerate when exploring. The folk village is particularly famous for its mask performances, which is regarded as a UNESCO cultural heritage. However, it’s a little slow-paced for me and I only watched about 3/4 of it. To get here, one can either drive and then take a shuttle bus in, or take bus 210 from Andong bus terminal / Andong KTX station.

Nice little traditional village. You can get to this place via bus 210 at andong bus terminal (used to be 246). It only has a few departure times so be sure to check the schedule. As of Oct 2024 it is what’s shown in image (bus comes to andong bus terminal about 10-15 mins after the timestamps on the second column). Drop off at the ticket counter > get your tickets 5,000 won for adult > hop on their free shuttle bus (10mins interval) and about 3 mins you’ll reach the entrance of the village. Takes about 1-2 hrs to explore the place

I went there for experiencing part of the Andong festivals. I got the opportunity to try out how to make traditional tea, and also get to know that the village still holds a few houses since the beginning ls and their fakimilies.

Was nice to look at the old architecture, but maybe it was just when I went, but I visited during the daytime on a weekday, and I felt like I was out of place. There were no other visitors. And all the doors to the villages were closed, so you couldn’t really see anything. The signage was a bit confusing as well. A lot of hype that didn’t really live up to it.

Andong Hahoe Village is a great reminder of Korea in the past. The village is well preserved and the folk village is a wonder to explore. We learned that Queen Elizabeth visited this very place and had tea there with the locals. There are cafes for your coffee fix and so much to see. It's incredible that a slice of the past can co-exist with the present in such a way. It also has the perfect photo spots so if you can rent hanbok and explore, do so!

Wanted to visit this place for the longest time and it didn't disappoint! Specially in autumn, I think this location is great to learn about korean traditional culture while enjoying the breathtaking views.
