Try Ramen Minus the Soup at This Japanese Chain’s Rockville Outpost | Eater DC

"I noticed &pizza, the irreverent D.C.-based pizza chain, leaning into its punk roots with a political promo celebrating “childless cat ladies” after a resurfaced 2021 interview about the Democratic party sparked backlash. For a short-lived deal at the Potomac Yard location in Alexandria and the Pike + Rose location in North Bethesda, Maryland, cat-loving guests can get a free cat toy with any pizza order if they show a picture of a feline friend; the offer runs only today and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pizza fans can also share a cat photo on social media, tagging &pizza and Vance, to compete for a free pie and a “childless cat lady” branded T-shirt for the most creative submission." - Emily Venezky

The pizza and garlic knots (a bit undercooked) were pretty good—fresh and flavorful. But it’s hard to fully enjoy great food when the overall experience falls short. Unfortunately, there were no regular drink options available, not even water or soda—just a few unfamiliar fruit sodas they mentioned they were “trying to get rid of.” On top of that, the place was uncomfortably hot, making it hard to relax or enjoy the meal. We ended up eating quickly just to get out. Great food deserves a better atmosphere.

Google
Awesome pizza place. Just wanted to grab a small bite. It was great and the service was above and beyond. Got some freebies (sauces and soda) from the shift manager. Will definitely come back.

My dipping sauce was forgotten from my garlic knots, my Farmer's daughter didn't have spinach, and the cherry nutella knots was very messy. The icing for the cherry nutella knots did not have a container - was just poured out over top of our knots and the nutella was in globs (it is supposed to be drizzled according to the pictures). I'm normally not picky with food, but this is unacceptable. The icing also made a mess when I took the boxes out of the bag and I had to take time to clean my floor because the icing was dripping onto the floor. I'm disappointed because I loved &pizza, but today's experience has really deterred me from coming back.

Google
Great pizza, fast service, and plenty of seating. Always get the American honey, and this time also created my own.

Google
&pizza is such a fun and delicious place to grab a meal! The pizzas are fresh, customizable, and packed with flavor, and I love how you can create exactly what you’re craving. The service is quick and friendly, and the modern atmosphere makes it a great spot to enjoy a casual bite. A unique and tasty pizza experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Google
The store messed up my order. I ordered from here because I have a severe allergic reaction to dairy and they have vegan cheese options. The labels on the food said vegan but the food was made with real cheese, and I needed medical attention. The number listed above goes to a bot that can't connect to the store. 0 stars if it was possible.

Raghu R.

Google
I placed a delivery order and had a coupon for free cinna knots for my birthday. &pizza at this location didn't include the knots with my order. They always have cold food with sparse or missing toppings here and the cookies are usually under baked or overbaked. Customer service redirects you to an online survey, so good luck getting credit or refunds for missing food items. Avoid eating here!!!

FELICIA H.

Google
This location is bad. They don't make the orders as requested. My cheese wasn't even melted and there were items I asked to be left off. The pie was barely warm. Waste of money

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was relatively empty. I was able to order with no issues. They actually installed touch screens to place your order. Super convenient. Relatively easy process. I will say when I went, the A/C was down - so it was a little sweaty inside. However, the maintenance guy arrived and was able to fix the issue. The manager (I think?) was super friendly and asked how the meal was after I was done. He even came and took up my plates/napkins/trash, etc. Super friendly. Inside, there's not THAT many seats, but still a few. Definitely worth checking out again if I'm in the mood for a quick &pizza bite.

Yelp
It's ok. I liked the pizza. The choc chip cookie was acceptable but overpriced. It's just chic chip dough shaped like a cookie. Didn't even seem cooked. Maybe the workers could avoid swearing when there are customers.

Yelp
I love coming here during my break times. Everyone is quick with making your order and provides a great amount of toppings. Thank you guys for always providing great service and delicious food!!!!!

Yelp
Wife and I got Mambo No. Fire (no bacon), Mushroom, Popper Pepper Knots (no bacon), and a drink. Pizza was average/fine, Popper Pepper Knots came with bacon though the order slip (correctly) excluded it. Just can't give more than 2 stars when I paid for something I couldn't eat because it was wrong. I won't be back.

Yelp
Last night, on May 3rd, I arrived at the store between 11:00-11:10 PM. As soon as I walked in, the guy behind the counter looked at me--saw I was wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and slippers--then glanced at his co-worker. They immediately said, "Oh, we're closed. We're not taking any more orders." I had checked the website beforehand, and the store was listed as open until 12:00 AM. I didn't make a fuss--I assumed they were cleaning or shutting down early for some reason, so I simply walked out and sat in my car. While sitting there, I saw multiple well-dressed customers entering the store. Then the guy was taking their orders, and both employees were clearly making pizzas and serving others after turning me away just minutes earlier. That honestly frustrated me. I felt like I was being judged or dismissed based on how I looked. I ended up placing an order online from my car, then went in and picked it up. I even told the guy, "Thank you for making my pizza," and he didn't even say anything back--not even a "sorry." It was rude and disappointing. The part that really upset me wasn't just being turned away, it was the way I was treated. I came in well before closing time, just wanting one pizza for dinner. I wasn't making a big or last-minute order, and yet I was treated like I didn't belong. Anyway, I still love &pizza and I'll still come back. I'll keep wearing my shorts, t-shirt, and slippers because it's summer, and I just want good service like everyone else. I'm paying for it, and I deserve respect like any other customer.

Yelp
[Pandemic review - 2020] &pizza is a build your own personal pizza type restaurant. Their differentiating factor compared to other pizza restaurants is that the shape of the pizza is a rectangle. They have a decent amount of options. You have the choice between regular dough and a gluten-free one. Several sauce options, cheeses, veggies, proteins, and drizzles. I don't currently have any additional toppings to suggest. After you've told them how you want your pizza, it is just a few mins in the fire oven. Taste is pretty average as far as these types of build your own pizza goes. The dough is on the fluffier side in case you prefer the flatter type. I am one who eats the crust so I am glad that the dough is a little flavorful. All in all, taste wise it is good, nothing spectacular. There is a good amount of seating indoors, but there are also a few tables right outside the restaurant too. When I came they were not allowing any dine-in. Because it is located in Pike n Rose, it is on the pricier side.

Yelp
The quality of the pizza was underwhelming. I'd never been before, but was expecting pizza; not greasy, low in flavor flatbread. Like Domino's, but worse and with less sauce and toppings.

Christin H.

Yelp
Pizza was good but came out cold despite us ordering in the restaurant and waiting for the food. They had a lot of orders so somehow the pizza came through the oven and sat behind the counter for 10 min before they boxed it up. I am not sure how their system works but it is very inefficient and bad. The employees were working hard and very kind but the restaurant is not run well at all. There was no water not even for purchase. The fountain machine is gone. It looks like they had a few energy drinks in the fridge maybe but no water. The owner clearly is not taking care of the place which is too bad.

Yelp
I ordered for delivery yesterday and my food never arrived. I was delivered someone else's food that wasn't even from &pizza. I tried to contact the store and an AI sounding voice told me I would have to come into the store to be helped with my problem. I am in a nursing home and basically bedridden. I am very ashamed and humiliated to know I am being treated like this. I have very limited money and was treating myself from a gift I received. I can't believe they would treat a handicapped customer like this. I used to truly enjoy your pizza. I feel less than human being treated like this. I am a native Washingtonian being embarrassed and shamed by a local restaurant chain. If someone wants to address my issue I can be reached at sixx9dc055@gmail.com. I hope to hear from someone who represents &Pizza at the Bethesda store soon!

Yelp
This &pizza location is still one of my favorites in the area. It's been awhile since I've ordered from here, let alone from &pizza. Ordered via UberEats for pick up. Noticed they were having a BOGO free special, so went with the Buffalo 66. If you like spicy food, this one is for you! It comes topped with spicy tomatoes, pickled fresno chilis, and chili flakes. Their pizza was still as good as I remember! Although I did enjoy this pizza, I probably will stick with my go to next time around...the Maverick. Picking up my pizza with relatively easy as they have markers on the floor telling you were to go/stand for online orders. My pizzas were ready when I arrived and placed in the warmer thing until I got there.

Yelp
I really love &pizza and the various customization options available. The first time I actually tried it was in Baltimore, MD but when they opened a location in Pike + Rose I was ecstatic. I generally recommend the maverick or build your own. My must have's are the banana peppers and honey. In terms of safety protocols, they are not currently implementing dine-in or outside dining from what I saw. Social distancing is enforced and everyone is wearing masks when I entered the establishment. Unfortunately I did read a review below where this may not always be the case. I would say be mindful and smart. Give this location a chance but if you feel at all uncomfortable or notice any type of CDC health violations, please report it or stay away from their business until their policies are corrected!

Yelp
I love &Pizza but this location unfortunately messes up online orders 7 out of 10 times. If you order Lil Roni's or any of their "extra pepperoni" pizzas, they look nothing like the picture and barely come with any pepperoni. Also, if you like to customize your order, which most people do, they often forget several toppings. The only way to guarantee you get your pizza the way you want it is if you order in person. I've reached out before regarding missing pizzas or toppings, but the only compensation is a 5 dollar coupon which they give away every week anyways if you are on their text or email list. Bottom line: realllllly good pizza if you order in person. Don't hold your breath on getting the pizza you wanted if you order online.

Yelp
Located in the busy Pike and Rose! Yesterday I came in to redeem a $3 pie that would have been expiring soon! For a Sunday afternoon this area was jam packed. It was my first time at this location. I parked across the street in the lot by Chipotle and took a short walk to pick up my pre-ordered pizza. There's clearly marked signs for wearing masks and social distancing - two separate "lines" for placing orders and picking up orders. I pretty much always get the "craft your own." I like it with lots of toppings and hot - jalapeños, spicy tomato sauce, red pepper flakes. Ooh and I love to add pineapple on there. Go head and judge me! I recently discovered the truffle ranch dressing - get it. It was life changing! Service was quick. Friendly employees. Delicious pizza and I paid $3 (get the app)!!

Yelp
My dad visited one of these for a Yelp event a few mo the ago, so we decided to give it a try as a family this past week. We love grabbing food at Pike & Rose and then letting the kids play in the Green Space. So he grabbed a plain cheese pizza for the kids and a Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza for us. Apparently they were out of whatever cheese sauce base that would normally be used for ours. But they were able to use another that was similar enough. It was certainly delicious, so no complaints here! In fact, I would definitely go back for another! The crust was on the thin side and had a nice chew. I loved it all!!

Vishal S.

Yelp
I was picking up pizza and they are not enforcing facemask policy. The employees were chatting witha guy staying in line for pizza but no one asked him even once to wear a mask. Did not expect this from &pizza.

Kate L.

Yelp
PENNY PINCHING & INCONVENIENT. the new ordering kiosk system is a complete turn off. Gone are the days of giving your free-unlimited choices as you walk down the topping line. Only one free topping per type unless you want to pay $1.75 per additional topping. Plus, you can't do half-half pizza anymore. I doubt I'll come back.

Yelp
I just learned of this &pizza location! The personal pizzas for about $10.25 are large and filling - definitely an upgrade from other franchises' small circular personal pizzas. The two times I've visited have been during this pandemic because of their amazing BOGO deal advertised online. We simply ordered on their website, and if you make a LevelUp account, you can earn points for each pizza bought and deduct a few dollars off per order. What a steal! I ended up getting my pizzas for $4.50-5 each. You can really stack on the toppings when you build your own pizza, but beware, too many and the middle gets quite soft. They are pretty good about not creating a mountain of toppings even when you check off a million boxes. They package the arugula in a separate plastic pouch in the box so that it stays fresh. They also keep your pizzas in a warmer until you come to pick up. I LOVE their truffle ranch sauce. I have gotten the special T sauce (Tallegio cheese) and hot honey, but couldn't taste either of them on my overloaded pizza unfortunately. Some of the meat toppings are too salty -- the pepperoni and italian sausage in particular. Great cheese, veggie toppings (pickled onions and arugula are my faves), sauces, and finishes. The crust is pretty good as well - soft and chewy. Good customer service as well. They respond to your texts so fast!

Yelp
I'm so excited that there is an &pizza near me. I've always been a fan and usually dine at the DC locations. This location is right in Pike & Rose which is full of things to do. If you want to partake in a quick bite, this restaurant is for you. There is a parking garage right on the same area which helps because parking can be tough. There is ample seating if you wish to dine inside. When I arrived it was pretty empty. The establishment is very clean and organized. The staff is friendly and attentive. The pizza was delicious as always. Overall this location was great.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients! I tried for first time today! Ordered via Uber Eats! The Maverick Pizza (sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, salami & basil, pesto sauce.) The pizza has a very thin crust w/crispy edges. The sausage/pepperoni spicy balances sweet Flavor mozzarella and pesto. Really fresh tasting ingredients. Delicious. Note: it was cold outside & pizza arrived lukewarm. I enjoyed it. Driver did not have insulated bag. But: if you like hot pizza-place in oven & heat it. Otherwise great service pizza arrived timely via Uber Eats. Worth a visit to restaurant try more options. See Photos!

Yelp
After waiting in line for over 30 minutes, we got up to the counter, where we were informed by the manager on duty they had so many back online orders, they were unable to take any more walk-in customers. When we expressed disappointment, they expressed their own frustration and said lack of staff had created incredible stress for their entire team. While many customers left (with others turned away upon arrival), we stayed and were soon joined by "Aaron", who identified himself as "VP for Operations". When informed of the issue, his response was, "So yes, our promotion was very popular and we have many locations". We ended up paying for pizza which we didn't receive and the one we did get was not well-prepared. If this had been our first bad experience at this location, we would have been more empathetic; however, previous visits have been characterized by "I'm sorry, we're out of dough" to "I'm sorry, we're out of mushrooms", etc. The concept is good and if success only depended on the staff, it would be fine, as they genuinely care about customers; however, &pizza (at this location) needs someone from the corporate office to address the issues and do a better job of responding to those who express disappointment. Fortunately, there are other (similar) options nearby, so we'll only return if we're not really counting on their being able to serve us.

Yelp
I've never had high standards for &pizza because it's a chain but I was surprised by the quality of this one. The pizza was decent. Usually I don't like it at all. Do I think it's worth $12 normally? Absolutely not. But I got a coupon off of the app for a $5. So check the app, people. The workers there seemed more focused on mobile orders than the people in the store, so the line was super slow even though it wasn't busy in the store, which was a turn off. They barely looked up at us when they saw us waiting in line and to be fair the place was fairly loud because of the fans, but they all mumbled when they spoke. The drink machine was broken, there was no water anywhere, and I didn't see any drinks that I could buy. Maybe that was just me not seeing them, but the no drinks anywhere was kind of strange. Overall, I was satisfied with my pizza. I don't typically come here on my own but a friend wanted to come here. I don't regret it, but I probably won't be coming back any time soon.

Yelp
I've always been a big fan of &pizza - it's gotta be my favorite fast casual pizza spot. None of their toppings are too salty. I felt that the staff here was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, from the person at the beginning taking the pizza / topping orders, to the cashier. We went on a very off-peak time at 1:30/2 pm on a Sunday, and it was just the right noise level and clean. We enjoyed a nice meal and caught up over delicious pizza. Thanks, &pizza!

Yelp
Every time I'm in the DMV area &pizza is a must. Who doesn't love pizza? But anytime you can get it made exactly how you want it , that makes it that much better. I love the many different options they have whether it be the crust , sauce, the cheeses and the many toppings. I highly recommend checking this place out anytime you're in the area. This location in particular was great because it's around a little plaza with nice little bars and shopping stores.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't know there were closing at a certain time, and the night shift was nice enough to go ahead and make my pizza. Been to this location once before the last time I was in town. Quick, tasty and a good price for the pizza. Clean place, free parking in the garage next door for anything under two hours. Definitely going if I say in the area again!
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
Quick & quality eats. This pizza joint is right at the corner of Pike & Rose which makes it a great stop from the hustle of shopping. The crew has always been consistent with their service and even offers great recommendations to your fine creation! Just as you can't go wrong with pizza, you can't go wrong with &pizza. Disclaimer: I am pro-pineapple.

Yelp
I have a lot of sympathy for food service workers, I do. But, I have never spent soooo long watching someone spread sauce on a piece of dough. The person making pizzas was nice but moved at a sloth's pace (I wasn't in a hurry, but this IS supposed to be fast food). The person finishing the pizzas/checking out was perhaps the rudest person I've encountered in a while. He didn't SAY anything, but his general attitude was that he did NOT want to be there or help anyone. We had no specific requests, no weird asks, but as he finished our pizzas he slammed the boxes shut and slid them over to us as though we had really upset him somehow. Luckily, &pizzq has their end of things set up well enough that their employees couldn't really screw up our pizzas. We enjoyed our pizzas in the comfort of our own home, far away from the angry cashier.

Yelp
This review & rating is based on my visits here in 2015-2016. I first visited this spot in June 2015 and back then I had their Maverick Specialty pizza and also their Gnarlic Pizza (both were very good). One of the things back then that caught my attention here was that this location had space to sit inside and even had outdoor tables too and it was much bigger than their locations in Germantown and Gaithersburg - a plus for me then. Even though it is communal, you still had space to yourself. Back then, I visited this location the most and when I did, my favorite was The Maverick - used to have it all the time. At some point, I switched it to the Pineapple Jack (not sure when), but I have gotten it at this location a few times this year - nothing wrong with having pineapple on your pizza, along with classic tomato, mozzarella, salami, pickled red onion, cherry bomb bbq and parmesan (hold the red onions). I had never had my pizza crafted from scratch at any of the &pizza locations although I got to try a dessert pizza once (not on the menu), but I guess that does not count. The few times I have been to this location this year (2017) has been so-so, but I just deal with it and move along.

Yelp
So this is my second time giving this place a try, it was actually really good. I got the American Honey this time, it was the right amount of kick, the honey flavor is so bomb. Also, get the cereal cookie!! You can create your own pizza of course if you don't want to select from their options, but I like the ones they've created. The teas are delicious and I would get those over the sodas, those sound cool but are all overly sweet and not really that great. I would def go back for this pizza!
google avatar

Annie T.

Yelp
More of a 3.5 for me. I love &pizza, but I have noticed over the years the quality has changed. You use to be able to choose from 2 types of crust at no extra charge. Toppings have slowly disappeared from rotation to never appear again. RIP sun-dried tomatoes, feta, and now my beloved egg?! I loved adding an egg to my pizza and when I went recently went, they said they no longer offer it. I get it, offering unlimited toppings can get pricy for the business. I just miss some of the old toppings. I still find their pizzas delicious. &pizza is one of my goto fast casuals. The pizzas are a very nice size for the price point and it's very shareable. The service is always friendly and engaging. I still love &pizza, I'm just lamenting for what it use to be in the good old days. I would love it if they would bring back some of the old toppings, even if it was for a limited time only kind of deal. Still love you &pizza, all love!
google avatar

Urooj F.

Yelp
The pizza is good! Wish they had more options though. They also charge for every little add on which sucks. The sodas taste pretty good as well! Tip: if you want to add toppings to your pizza that aren't already on one of their specials, it's cheaper to make your own pizza rather than order one of their specials and add toppings to it. I would recommend.
google avatar

Brij T.

Yelp
Every time I've ordered online at this location, it's never ready. Today I waited 30 mins and first it was it's not ready followed by we don't have your order. This place needs some reorganization Never again at this location. .

Yelp
This rating is a combination of the service I received and the overall taste of the pizza. Now I didn't know they had a location in Rockville which is nice because I work around the area. The only location I have been to is the one in DC. Moving along I go to order on my break and I order regular dough and Regular sauce and Pesto ,Shredded mozzarella, Pineapple, Spinach and Chicken which was then placed in the oven. After I added Parmesan and a light Garlic oil. *** Side Story *** this recipe was recommended to me by a co-worker who ordered the very same thing earlier that day and let me try it and it was so good and nicely baked. Back to the story (lol) So as I am adding the finally toppings I notice there are a whole bunch of black pieces on the pizza ( I am currently 30 weeks pregnant) so I asked the young lady who is helping "what is that ?" She responds and says "the spinach". I am shocked and then state "I can't eat that" so the young lady proactively states she can remake. Of course I agree but it's an inconvenience at this point because it took a lot of time already. So it comes out again and it is still BURNT not so bad as it was the first time but it is still BURNT. Most people I know don't like burnt food especially pizza, I know I don't . So at this point I'm frustrated I have now waited for over 20 minutes and I am still faced with the same issue. I tell the young lady at this point I want a discount , she says she has to ask the manager. The manager comes out and asks what going on. I explained what happened she then says "we can remake it" I tell her "this would be your third attempt to make this pizza I don't have the time to wait again " she then stated that the spinach is prone to burn if it's not cooked underneath the cheese and the person who made my pizza should have told me that ( mind you SHE MADE my PIZZA and never said that) which is what I said to her . She then stated "okay so what are you asking " and I'm like "for a discount" she then says she can give me a free pizza coupon for next time and once I agreed to that she leaves for the office. I'm waiting again well over 5 minutes ( I have now been past my 15 minute break) Another employee comes over and asks have I paid I told her what was going on. She went to get the manager and then suggested to the manager that my coupon just be applied towards this purchase which is what ended up happening.... I asked for the Manager's name instead of telling me she wrote it down on a piece of paper it says Marcelle which I took a picture of. The whole situation was poorly dealt with and my pizza came out burnt and nasty. I don't see myself going back there I was so upset and the situation was draining :(

Yelp
The shop is clean and organized. Parking is easily accessible although quite a bit of a walk. Pizza is fresh as are the ingredients. The staff is a hit or miss. They find the need to belittle patrons and scoff when asked for particular request. They are not friendly at all and typically have no care to please their patrons. Maybe they are paid low or the management just don't care to hire quality individuals to service the customers but the vibe is pretty bad as are their attitudes. I'd rather buy bad pizza if this is what it's like to eat actual yummy craft pizza.

Yelp
I love me some &pizza! This was my first time at this location! When I pulled up (going to another restaurant) I said to myself..."I'm getting me some &pizza" and I did! I always create my on masterpiece and it was so delicious! Clean restaurant. Customer service was ok! Great spot for family or friends. Restrooms were clean...parking if more than 2 hours a small fee. As always I will return.

Yelp
This place is so poorly managed and DISGUSTING. When I first came in the first person on the line who you tell you order to was on her personal computer and I had to wave and get her attention for her to look up to take my order. The arugula was all brown and all of the vegetables looked like if they sat there any longer they would be a pile of mold. On top of that the soda machine was broken, only the ice machine worked and I do not think it has ever been cleaned. Green mold chunks came out with the ice and when the ice started to melt that water was yellow. All the staff was just standing around, the issue never got resolved the whole time I was there. Pizza was okay wish I can't believe I even ate but not for the price. This is seriously not okay. Do not go to this restaurant.

Bittu A.

Yelp
Get your own pizza for around 10 bucks with all the toppings you want? Yes, please. It's a great and the toppings are top notch. It was also my first time having honey on pizza (signature american honey pizza) and it was a great contrast with the goat cheese. Definitely a must try if you like that salty and sweet combo.
google avatar

Justin P.

Yelp
Service here was awesome when I went. Staff also made sure tables were cleaned off for whoever sits there next. They were patient with you when you created your pizza because some people (like myself) always forget how it works if you are not a frequent. But after that visit, I'll make sure I am coming back more than usual. I ordered the Farmer's Daughter pizza but added a few more things on the top. Pretty good since they added an egg on top (choice of scrambled or over easy). Will come back pretty soon....hopefully!

Yelp
Love ordering pizza from this place. They're fast and clean and so close to where we live. Recommend and will likely continue make it my go to for pizza.

Yelp
&pizza follows the concept of customized food similar to Chipotle but with pizza (obviously). I've been to quite a few places that offer pizza like this and I have to say &pizza feels like better quality. I'm not sure if it's the oval shape or the vegan:vegetarian options but it's definitely worth checking out. I stopped by this location on a Tuesday afternoon. Parking is super easy and free across the street. The resturant was actually empty besides what appeared to be an &pizza staff meeting. I have to admit to was not impressed with the first employee I interacted with. I'm not sure if she was new but I wasn't greeted by her and she didn't say anything to me. Luckily another woman took over and she killed it. She was so fun and I didn't feel rushed. I wish I knew her name but she had a little heart tattoo under her eye- so if magament is reading this and you know her- give her kudos. This was a great hire lol. I took my food to go and it was great. I love having a vegetarian meat option and he goat cheese finish at the end was awesome. I'm glad that I stopped in because this was my first visit to this location. For less than $10 I can see myself becoming a frequent visitor here.

Yelp
Pretty consistent with their service and food. As much as I love to pile on the toppings and build my own pizza, too many will make the pizza soggy. I try to limit to no more than 6 toppings/drizzles and the crust stays crispy.

Yelp
The Pizza: First time having &pizza and I'm very impressed with the flavor and the taste. For a personal pizza, the price is a little on the higher end, but the ingredients seemed fresh and portions of the meat were healthy. Where this pizza shines is in the dough; outstanding texture and flavor. Just the right amount of chew. I am completely sold on the implementation of "hot honey" and "scrambled eggs" as toppings. The Drinks: Another highlight is the soda. I'm not a a soda fan, but when real cane sugar is used and the flavors somewhat exotic, my interest gets piqued alongside my levels of expectation. I'm pleased to report that the soda does meet those expectations! Very tasty with a healthy offering of variety for many palates. The Service: I ordered mine ahead and I got there a little late for pick-up. I appreciated that they kept it in a oven to keep it hot and the pizza was none the worse for wear because of my being late. The staff aren't particularly warm/friendly, but given how fast they are slinging pies, I think you have to expect a compromise. The Ambiance: Definitely geared towards a younger crowd and very "hip" in terms of decor. 6-seater tables are meant to be shared with other diners, which is fine by me, but may be less appealing to some. The music wasn't too loud so you can have a conversation without having to shout over any thumping beats. The restroom was a little worn and showed its use; frankly it could've been cleaner. Summary: Great tasting pizza for a quick bite. With a drink, you're looking at about 13-15 bucks; which is not the cheapest lunch. But the price is fair for the portion, quality of ingredients, and taste, just not a deal. Friendlier staff and cleaner bathrooms would be nice. Definitely love the order ahead feature, which is very convenient. Interaction with the automated texts is also huge. A nice feature to be sure.

Yelp
I walked in for a Pizza and typically have a water cup as soda does not work for me. The person said they do not offer water or water cups. I said, you are kidding me. They said people raid their soda fountain. I said I am not people and am diabetic, hence can't drink soda. This is the first and hopely the only food service place that behaves like this. It was my first and definitely my absolute last. No water, no pouring from their tap. nothing!!!! I am 5 day a week person at the pike and Rose and will not patronize this store ever.

Yelp
If you're delivery for Uber eats or door dash avoid this restaurant at all cause. Place Never has the customers order ready and customers think we're supposed to wait in line.. time is $$ and we're not hourly employees! Peace!

Yelp
Bottom Line: Delicious, customized, two-meal pizza for a mere $10. I heart &pizza. I fell in love with the food, concept and pricing about a year ago and have visited the E Street location in the Penn Quarter many times. I love &pizza so much that I was more than glad to share a special Valentine's Day meal there with my Valentine. Something that I particularly like about this location is that there is free parking (for up to two hours) in the adjacent garage and their line up of craft sodas includes a diet cola option. If you are not familiar with the &pizza concept, it is as follows: The &pizza "tribe members" will pile your generously sized personal pizza with as many ingredients as you'd like before putting it through the conveyor belt oven and charging you a thrifty $10. The process goes something like this: - Select your crust - Specify your sauce (or sauces, get creative!) - Choose your cheese - Pick your veggies - Add some proteins (including faux meat and a fresh cracked egg) - The pizza is quickly baked - Add some finishing touches (parmesan, fresh basil, garlic, oil, etc.) - Enjoy your masterpiece. The pizzas are intended to be personal pizzas but its a lot to eat for one person. Of course you can share with others in your party but that takes away from the customization concept a bit. Instead of sharing, I like to save my leftovers for later. &pizza has a variety of bottled drinks including home made craft sodas. The E Street location doesn't have a diet cola option but Bethesda does.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place because of all the positive reviews. Unfortunately for the employees this place seems very understaffed. After we walked in, looking at the menu we were told it was gonna be at least 20 minutes. We decided to stay. Ordered the Dirty Bird, American Honey and the Mozz Knots. They were okay. They had a signup deal where if you signed up for the email you got a pizza for $5 so we both did this. I think it was worth it for $5 but I wouldn't return to pay full price. It seems like they offer deals quite often because multiple people coming in to pick up were also using coupons. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have flavored unsweetened teas in cans but their "soda fountain" was still broken. No alcohol available for purchase. The other couple with us also ordered knots but they were never made. Overall the food was okay, the sauce and toppings were not spread out leaving lots of crust. Too many better options at pike&rose.

Yelp
I've mainly done delivery from here through the website, and my order is always perfect. Prep and delivery is super fast, so everything is fresh and not soggy. I know it's a chain, but it has the best pizza and service in this area. They even have gluten free crust!

Yelp
Love &pizza! It's awesome fast, cheap (~ $9), made-to-order pizza! They have so many sauces, spreads, and fresh toppings to choose from! It's thin crust pizza, kind of like flatbread. It's not authentic or the best pizza you will ever eat, but still really good. I came here for their soft opening and got to try one of their signature pizzas. Usually when I go to &pizza, I prefer to create my own, but I'm glad I got to try a signature. I went with the Kiss and Fire, which had spicy tomato sauce, ricotta spread, mushrooms, meatballs, and strawberry balsamic. It was a delicious pizza, but I wasn't a fan of the strawberry balsamic, making it a little sweet. I also wish it had some veggies on it. I got to try my friend's Farmer's Daughter. That was a really good choice too, with spicy tomato sauce, spinach, sausage, eggs, and red pepper chili oil! Next time, I'll try MoonStruck and Backyard Garden. It's great that this opened up at Pike & Rose. It's a much better fast-casual option than Roti and ShopHouse. Plus, this &pizza is a lot bigger than the Germantown and Gaithersburg-Downtown Crown locations. There are multiple tables instead of just one communal table. There is parking in the garages. First 2 hours are free. For you &pizza lovers, don't forget to get the app and start earning your rewards!

Yelp
I love this place! Very convenient for me and the past few times ive been, i haven't dealt with any lines which is good. Pizza here is always good especially with goat cheese!!! I love all the toppings and the fact that you get to customize your pizza. Parking is available in the garage or parking lots. Two hours free. There is outside sitting when is warm. The workers are really great and attentive!

Yelp
So glad this place joined the line up of good eats at Pike & Rose. I got to attend a soft opening (Thanks, Annie!) lunch today. They very extremely efficient, and kept the line moving. We got a free pizza of our choice from their list of signature pizzas. I had the meat-free Moonstruck which has a mushroom truffle base as opposed to a traditional tomato sauce base. It's delicious! I love mushrooms, so I would get it again, or create my own with their house- made mozzarella. The dining space is small with one long communal table and several six seater tables along one wall. Be prepared to share your table space, it's the nice thing to do. With two hours of free parking in the nearby garage, &Pizza is the newest go-to place for fresh and fast pizza.
