Bistrot André

We came from different places to try this bistrot as it has a very good reputation. Were disappointed by the noise of the works in the house, so we couldn’t really enjoy our meal and the good quality was not up to the standards expected.

strangely disappointing... the server made a big effort and we thank him, €29 appetizer, a glass of wine with a weak not generous pour, food delivered with a quick explanation we can't understand , porchetta that has to be sent back because the sauce is overwhelmingly salty, a tart desert with a crust so hard one needs a knife and fork. Nothing memorable or that interesting. An ambiance of a busy brasserie. Too bad, the server tried hard. We can't even really remember what we ate. Notably everything had the same brown color about it, nothing vibrant and colorful. Except for the salty porchetta sauce there was nothing bad, but nothing seemed that great

Amazing restaurant in Valence in the famous Maison Pic of the French chef Anne-Sophie Pic. This restaurant André is serving food that is elaborated by Anne-Sophie pic and her brigade. The price are affordable for the quality The atmosphere is very nice, food portions are good and tasty. Interesting mix of flavors The staff is very helpful, friendly and professional Definitely something to not miss if you pass by Valence in France during your trip. A must to do! Book in advance as this is most of the time full.

We made a last-minute reservation while in the car at this restaurant while cruising towards Costa Brava. The food exceeded our expectations, even with the limited time. We enjoyed a satisfying meal of main course with wine, dessert, and coffee." This resto is a hidden gem.

Lunch earlier today was marred only by the dishes themselves - good ingredients, friendly and efficient service (who considered and adapted to our limited time), yet all the dishes on the three course lunch menu felt like pale imitations of their descriptions. It was all OK but nothing was good, and I suppose we expected more from such an illustrious reputation!

The food was good but to our disappointment there was no wow factor. The tiramisu was too sweet and sickly for our taste - why mess with an Italian classic? Service was patchy - we were not offered a drink to start and the only sparkling wine available was over-priced champagne. Good but not great.

What a treat, great food, service and atmosphere We turned up for a special birthday dinner having driven from Dijon that day. Not being familiar with the area we arrived a little early and before the Bistro actually opened! From the outside it looks very unassuming, but once inside it is just beautiful. The staff at next door sister Maison Pic could not have been more welcoming and friendly giving us a lovely place to sit and have a pre-dinner drink. We were then collected for our table and had a lovely experience and most delicious dinner and service. Had such a wonderful experience and were again taken across to Maison Pic to be comfortable while we waited for a taxi, they arranged to take us back to our hotel. If we ever come back through Valance, we will definitely return and maybe even get the opportunity to experience the exceptional Maison Pic.
