Amazing food. Very authentic. Family owned restaurant. They have a restaurant side and then the wine cellar side with a pizza oven if you want a less formal atmosphere.

Google
Andrea and his staff always provide excellent meals and service. We've enjoyed many celebrations from taking clients there to celebrate their new home purchase, to celebrating family birthdays, high school graduations, and most recently, my husband's retirement. Andrea is personable and the food is terrific. We highly recommend!!

Google
Hands down !! The best Italian food in sarasota. Quaint small place. Must have reservations. I had the best gnocchis in town that came places in bread bowl. To die for. I would eat here every night. Amazing. Will not disappoint.

Exceptional dining experience! Superb food that is plated beautifully, extremely pleasant and professional staff. Owner is present and adds to the dining experience. The wine list is outstanding.

Our server Damiano was outstanding he was very knowledgeable about every question about the menu that i had. The food was outstanding and i 100% recommend to any person in the sarasota area.

Google
Seriously one of the best Italian meals in Florida! A real hidden gem. Small restaurant so not great for larger groups but intimate setting with great food & wine selection. We lucked out with the street food of the day being Arrancini Bolognese which were delicious! Loved everything from their bread starter to their fresh al denti pasta.

Google
So my experience here was part of a larger group of people and both the service and food was impeccable. I had the octopus and it was grilled to perfection. Like no place I have had it before. The eggplant appetizer was so good I could have eaten it for a meal. I have read some of the comments on cocktail napkins being needed, with nice tablecloths to absorb any condensation from my ice tea I liked them not wasting the paper napkin so many others do under the drink.

Google
We loved our food overall! Had a couple specials and they were great! Italian wine list is very expansive. Server very friendly and attentive. Not busy on a rainy MON night but would be different vibe with a full dining room. Looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items!

Yelp
Hidden Gems: quaint little restaurant, everything we ordered was amazing, I had the ceaser salad with anchovies and Andrea's short ribs with potatoes. The steak tartare was delicious. Our waiter was excellent, thoroughly explaining everything. My daughter took us out for my birthday. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
A very good choice We finally dined at Andrea's with friends last night, and had a great time and meal. The experience wasn't quite what I expected, starting with the restaurant itself. From the outside, Andrea's looks dark and easily overlooked. Located in a strip mall across from Aldi's, Andrea's and Rick's French Bistro seem out of place. But once I stepped inside for the first time, I found a well-lit upscale welcoming place. I consider places upscale if there are tablecloths and lots of glassware, and menu prices on the high side. You can spend money at Andrea's, our total was about $60 per person, but there are also less expensive options. If you do want to spend money, they offer an extensive wine selection. We found Andrea's a comfortable place, not pretentious. Andrea is a real person. He stopped by a couple of times to introduce himself and to make us feel welcome and appreciated. His two sons provided excellent service throughout our visit. I love eating at locally owned and operated places, a family business. As for the food, I started with their Cesar Salad and included anchovies for an upcharge. It was a good size but did lack any noticeable Ceasar dressing flavor. Light and fresh, for me the saltiness of the anchovies saved this course. For my entrée I had their Tagliolini Sunday Style. It was tough to decide, they offer 3 or 4 entrees I really wanted to try, a good reason to return someday. This pasta dish was large and very good. I did some research and still don't know exactly what Sunday Style means, but there is a tradition by Italians to enjoy pasta on Sundays. Perhaps there is an extra effort to make that a special meal, and perhaps Andrea includes an extra effort for this dish. The flavor was mild, the pieces of braised pork ribs while not melt in your mouth tender were still very easy to eat and provided some texture. Others at the table gave high marks to the Pappardelle 2085 entree. We made a very good choice when we selected Andrea's for dinner.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent service! I had the chicken Milanese -it was delicious, tender and perfectly cooked! We'll go back!!

Yelp
Fantastic! We tried this place after it was recommended by another local chef. We can't stop talking about how good it was. We had the special ravioli, the Gnocchi and the beef and mushrooms over pappardelle. The house salad was simple and tasty and the tiramisu and creme brûlée were fresh and really good as well. Have patience when you go there and definitely call ahead. They had 12ish tables. The weight staff is young but gave great recommendations. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is my favorite Italian restaurant!! The wine selection is outstanding and for every price point. The service is top notch. It's a once a week spot for us. We either have a meal or a pizza.

Steve G.

Yelp
Andrea's is our go to Italian restaurant in the area and there are many choices. We ate there again last night. I say " again" because we keep gravitating there and walk away each time extremely pleased. Their octopus starter is the best ever and I've tried them all in the area. So tender. My absolute favorite dish there is the zuppa de pesche OMG is it great., My wife had the linguini with seafood. Tremendous . Wine list has solid choices at every price point. . The young waiters are outstanding. They know their products and are so personable . We love that the restaurant is not pretentious., It's all about the food in a very welcoming and appreciative cozy environment. One suggestion would be to add a fresh fish special from time to time .

Lisa B.

Yelp
We had a beautiful and scrumptious dinner on Tuesday night! We had appetizers, salads three different entrees and desserts! All FANTASTIC!!! The waiter was extremely attentive and the Chef came out and asked how the food was. We had the Veal Piccata, Flounder Meunière, and the Chicken Napoleon. The desserts were so delectable also (crème brûlée and a dessert of white chocolate and chocolate mousse with a raspberry drizzle and a cream sauce -sorry but I don't remember the name of that dessert but it was scrumptious). We are here for vacation and will definitely be having dinner there again before we leave!
google avatar

Squirrel H.

Yelp
I would have ranked them higher except they charge 7.99 and 2.99 if you want to split entrees and appetizers respectively. Just eat off of each others' plates or use your bread plate to share. And no split checks for parties of 6 or more. Harumph. However, the food is wonderful. I love octopus and they serve it as an entree. Some places overcook their octopus but not here. Gnocchi: yum. Several in our party enjoyed the veal and lasagna. There's a bonus restaurant affiliated with A's next door: Malmosto. Quaint and charming wine bar/ pizza place. Pizzas made in seconds in wood burning oven. Malmosto is small and tucked between A's and a doctor's office. Really good!

Yelp
Need two different star ratings, would have given 4 stars for decent food but everything else? 2 stars. Dirty looking restaurant, there were flies flying around. The servers were young inexperienced, shabbily dressed, their clothes looked dirty. The main server didn't even bother to come to our table to greet us. So, now to the food, the pappardelle with a beef sauce was tasty, the veal Milanese was crisp, topped with fresh arugula, I enjoyed it. Also the starter zucchini parmesan. Deep fried, in a roll very nice. The place needs a renovation and the service personnel, training. Typical restaurant in Sarasota, pricey and overrated.

Yelp
I wanted to try this joint for a while and tonight we finally gave it a shot...I ordered the Flounder Meunière which came out hot on a bed of fresh veggies ...No complaints, pretty damn good... The Wife went with a Pasta dish in a carbonara sauce which wasn't impressive in any way , shape or form...We like our pasta cooked Al Dente but this was just plain undercooked...A weak dish , no excuse for that...Not even hot when it made it to the table...Unimpressive bread basket as well... Sorry Andrea, but it is what it is .,,,,

Yelp
Fantastic Italian food !! Another hidden gem in sarasota . We will definitely be frequenting here for upscale Italian food . Nothing disappointing at all. Came for our 33rd wedding anniversary. All around great night .

Yelp
100% an epic experience. The food and wine pairing was a hit. The 5- course dinner was interesting, authentic and left everyone wanting " more please"...it was quite filling. The courses opened with Exec. Chef Andrea presenting the dish, ts ingredient composition, regional history...and often colorful stories from Andrea. As he left to prepare our 5 courses, Michael, (enter stage left), our sommelier for the evening, carefully crafted the purpose, varietals, and regional "geo" of each wine that was poured. [Extra bottles of wine are for purchase after your meal to take home] but the wine with dinner is included in the pre fixed seating charge. These dinners are unique, limited seating, fun, educational and delicious... . Stay tuned ....and follow them on FB for more fun dinner dates coming soon. * plenty of free parking. Book a reservation in advance- pay at the end of your evening. Reservations here fill up fast!

Yelp
Excellent food! For starters my husband and I shared the Caesar salad. For his entree my husband had the gnocchi in a mushroom cream sauce and I had the polenta appetizer for dinner which was more than enough for two people. We ended the evening with a cappuccino.

Pamela C.

Yelp
We were so disappointed!!!!! We were expecting an authentic Italian meal. Really hate to write a bad review.. but it just wasn't what we expected. Do not buy a bottle of wine without checking the price outside of this restaurant .. our wine was 65.00 a bottle and at Total Wine it's $19.99.. buyer beware!

Jeff H.

Yelp
Fried Eggplant degrades the vegetable. Escargot was a 3 on a 10 scale. Cesar Salad with anchovies was good, lasagna was good. Service was mediocre and the kids didn't know the menu. Has to ask twice for the pepper. Wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Andrea's is the most authentic Italian restaurant in Sarasota. We have eaten the the finest restaurants in this country and many parts in the world, so we have some experience with food and we know when we are getting a quality dish or if the chef cheapens the ingredients to save money. This is an over the top find for us. The Chef himself is very attentive and is passionate about every detail, the wait staff is well informed and work together like a well oiled machine. My favorite of the menu is the handmade pasta with short rib. I'm obsessed with it. Chef has a wine cellar and will gladly assist in a wine selection to fit your taste. Bravo, Chef Andrea. We will be away until Fall now can't wait to return. Restaurant is small so please make a reservation

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE! We had an exceptional meal with a fantastic Super Tuscan wine. This restaurant is beautifully intimate with top notch service! Andrea's gives meaning to the word perfection.

Janice K.

Yelp
Had a reservation for 2 at 7:15 We were unfortunately unable to make so I called restaurant before they opened to cancel and was told to never call again because they are a small rest and I should have called sooner.. the gentleman on phone was very very rude It's one restaurant I will never eat at or call again !!!!

Yelp
Over priced and bland. This place is not what it once was. No longer our go to for fresh pasta.

Gina R.

Yelp
A Find ! Lovely ambiance warm owner Andreas & son Dom who was serving tonight & did a fabulous job serving the entire restaurant! The Savor Sarasota Menu was great, many options! We had the linguine with seafood one tomato sauce one with garlic & olive oil- both awesome! Others had the flounder special of the evening which was so tender & light! One had Lasagne which was one of the best ever he said!! Love this place will becoming back very soon!!

Yelp
Amazing!!!!!!!! We drive up from Englewood at least one or two times a month. Andrea's food is always and fresh, amazing, authentic and consistent. We have also attended some of the wine dinners and picked up several new favorite bottles of wine. Each bite is worth the trip!

Michael N.

Yelp
We had a wonderful family dinner last evening at Andrea's. We all enjoyed tasty and homemade pasta and fresh fish dishes, wine, salads, varied breads, and authentic desserts. We highly recommend this local, independent Italian Ristorante. They only offered a few wines by the glass, thus forcing full bottle sales. The salad was unremarkable mixed greens (ala bagged from Publix). Grazie mille to our server Betty, our bus boy, and the creative Chef Andrea.
google avatar

Vic A.

Yelp
The service was friendly and great. I had the pappardelle with shortribs, and I was looking for the meat. For $29 I do expect to have a reasonable amount of meat and there was maybe 4-5 small thinly sliced bites. I ordered off of the full price menu, not Savor Sarasota.

Yelp
Just when I thought I found the best Italian restaurant in Sarasota. This pops up. Certainly the best I've had. Service. Food and wine selection is at the top. You won't be disappointed

Lisa B.

Yelp
One of Sarasota!s tiny Italian restaurants. We waited nearly 10 minutes to be offered water. Once we were waited on the service was good. The food was good but unmemorable. Ambiance consists of random photos. Like many local Sarasota spots, I suspect if you are a regular you love this spot because you are smothered with positive attention, but otherwise not so much.

Linda C.

Yelp
Great Italian food, the Savor Sarasota menu was a hit. Service was excellent. I recommend to all.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
Had a fabulous dinner tonight on Savor Sarasota. Service was prompt and friendly. I had linguine diavalo and wife had veal Milanese...both were fresh and delicious. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
VERY authentic Italian cuisine. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious! Servers were professional, courteous, and attentive.

Yelp
This was a great find for us last night. We were driving around cedar and siesta key and became hungry. I called ahead and was told they would have room for the 4 of us in 45 minutes. We loved the crab cakes, lasagna, cacio e pepe, flounder and a special plate of chicken fingers. Service was very friendly and attentive. Too bad we live a few hours away and can't visit more frequently.

Kyle Anne F.

Yelp
My husband and I have dined at Andrea's several times. Each time, the food was delicious and service was attentive. I had the Veal Marsala, and it was probably one of the best I've had, which is my 'go to' meal when I go to an Italian restaurant. I wish I'd taken photos. It is currently offering monthly special menus to extend Savor Sarasota. The special menus offer many choices, and his regular menu is large. From our first experience, Andrea greeted us and made us feel welcome.

John R.

Yelp
The food was outstanding. Great wine list and super service. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the ambiance. Restaurant could use a makeover. It was very dark and the decorating left a lot to be desired.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Andrea's is always a wonderful dining experience. I always get the Famous Ravioli Stuffed with Carbonara Sauce in Pecorino & Crispy Pork Cheeks Sauce as my appetizer because it is divine. Chef Andrea created this dish for his sons, and it is simply unlike anything else. The Veal Milanese is my favorite but I can rarely finish it. The pasta of the day is always amazing, and we never feel bloated the next morning as can happen when food has too much salt or fat. The food is fresh and delicious. Chef Andrea is an artist. It is a small restaurant, so you definitely need a reservation. I heard that there is going to be a companion pizza/wine bar opening up next door soon!

Bob B.

Yelp
We love Andrea's! Intimate setting, impeccable service, and creative Classic Italian cuisine. This local gem is a consistent favorite. During covid, they offered pickup and (limited) delivery in order to help their many loyal customers. His wine dinners are always well attended. Reservations required.
google avatar

Joyce M.

Yelp
Andrea was great doing take out during the pandemic. He's food is consistently good and service is wonderful. It feels like a small Italian restaurant right out of Italy. Love to support our local business.

Stephen D.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Andrea's. This is such a cute and authentic Italian restaurant. You can tell the owner really cares about his business and his customers. The highlight for me is the carbonara pasta. As a general rule I avoid carbonara on US restaurant menus as it's typically swimming in butter and heavy cream. Ugh! Just so heavy, like a heart attack on a plate. Andrea's makes theirs true to Roma's recipe (carbonara originated in Rome). In Rome you find the carbonara to be relatively light and very flavorful with just a touch of pancetta. This is how you will find Andrea's carbonara. Absolutely delicious. We often split the dish to create a carbonara starter which allows for a nice main like veal piccata. You can't go wrong with this intimate and high quality Sarasota Italian.

Carol S.

Yelp
Small restaurant recommended by a friend. It appeared that there were a lot of regulars that were treated warmly. We were first-time customers. I told the waitress that also. I saw the chef/owner peering around the dining room regularly greeting his 'friends'. I called him over asking if he was the chef. He advised me that he was Andreas. I told him we liked the food.... And that was that! Not asking anything else! I was a restaurant owner in my 'other life' knowing the importance of greeting and making customers feel they are indeed special. He did not. Sarasota has a lot of Italian restaurants and competition is out there. After spending $160 for two people, we felt as if they didn't care if we would return. Sad. So we probably will not.

Yelp
still one of the best anywhere consistent excellent food wine and service charming and friendly

Yelp
We loved this italian restaurant. Upscale feel, server was amazing and the food was authentic. Fresh home made bread and butter were delicious!

Elinor G.

Yelp
We love Andrea's. We have eaten there during this Covid crisis up to 4 times per week. Andrea is so careful about social distancing, cleanliness, and wearing masks, that we felt very safe. The owner Andrea does the cooking himself and he takes great pride in making sure that every guest in his Italian restaurant gets the best and freshest food possible. He is also very flexible. I have been going through extensive dental work that requires me to eat soft food. He has made certain that every time we come for dinner he has my favorite meat ravioli. His veal Milanese is pounded so thin and is so tender that I have been able to eat that as well. My husband loves Andreas light hand with his fried flounder so much that he says he could eat it every night. However, frequently Andrea has a newly caught fish dropped off and he will do something special with it that night. His specials are worth ordering. The wait staff is great. They really want everyone to be happy. Michael and Robb and their assistants are friendly, professional, and helpful. We really cannot say enough good things about Andrea's. Try it for yourself. And, if you have extra room, try his wonderful cannolis. Oh, if you like the wine, which we do, Andrea will get you bottles to take home at an excellent price and personally choose them for you based on what he knows you like.

Mary P.

Yelp
By far the BEST gluten free bread I've ever had! Pasta is amazing as well. Me and my Fiancé love this place. They make you feel special and always provide the very best service! Much recommended! Please try this place out!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
A real Italian gem! The food, ambiance and staff are top notch. The flavor of the food along with the wine pairings are out of this world. The menu is updated regularly for what is in season and the dishes are so full of flavor. The truffle dishes are always my favorite! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Husband is Italian we frequent this restaurant often. Food is very good. Very reasonable and friendly staff and service
google avatar

D.J. S.

Yelp
Our meal was okay. Caprese starter had a generous serving of absolutely delicious mozzarella, but only three very thin slices of slightly underripe tomato. My husband had the Spagettoni alla Aragosta and enjoyed it. I had the special, a pork shank, which was very good. We skipped dessert. Service was pretty blah, though acceptable. $25 corkage fee was rather exorbitant. Fleming's  (within easy walking distance, about 200 meters of Andreas) and with an extensive wine list, only charges $15. On the whole, we weren't wildly impressed and, with so many great restaurants in Sarasota, won't go back.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Celebrated being vaccinated with fabulous dinner at Andrea's. Delicious starter of baby octopi in divine roasted tomato sauce, followed by delicious ossobucco with risotto. Ended with yummy house made cannoli . It's been a year since I last dined with Andrea. Happily, his food, wines and service are still the BEST!
google avatar

Dori S.

Yelp
What an amazing dinner{. From the grilled octopus appetizer that I shared with my husband; the seafood with linguine( which was filled with mussels, clams and shrimp) to the lamb shank with mixed vegetables that my husband had. All delicious and beautifully presented! Our waiter, Michael was knowledgeable and attentive. He spaced our meal out well and recommended a wonderful bottle of Malbec, which was priced well. Dessert was amazing; a house special which I never heard of. Think of a light chocolate flan consistency. Well done everyone including Andrea, who meets each table personally. We will be back. Many thanks!

Andy K.

Yelp
Didn't love it but the food was acceptable to good. Located in an aging strip center without much curb appeal. The interior matched the center btw. Wine list was a horror show with over 10 white wines scratched out. Poor selection of American wine. Ordered the veal appetizer and it was not to my liking. Kind of like veal cold cut with rich heavy sauce...different. For dinner I had the trio of veal. I asked for it not be breaded and they could not accommodate my request. What I got was too much breaded veal. The parmigiano was good. I ordered the side pasta and that was great and homemade.. Wife ordered salmon healthy prepared, light oil and butter. It came drenched in olive oil. Oh well you cant win them all. We will likely not return

Yelp
Guys.... if you are looking to impress your special lady... or man... this is the place! Being Italian, authenticity is important to me as well as updating traditional italian recipes. Andrea does just that! I call him the mad scientist... the twists he puts on the dishes are mind-blowing if you are a foodie like me. Do yourself a favor and try it. MM

Alicia B.

Yelp
We ordered the dinner for two for pick up and it was wonderful! The veal and chicken were so tender and the flavors of the salads were delicious. They had some unusual ingredients but the medley was wonderful. Always great to support our local restaurants right now!
google avatar

Mallie C.

Yelp
Very impressed. Food was great, authentic flavors, and everyone enjoyed their meals. To my surprise, the waiter respected an old Italian tradition, which is to give those dining the space to enjoy themselves, while at the same time accessible if needed by the waive of a hand. I got the small Italian town restaurant feel, which is rare in the U.S., Thanks!
