"A half-hour's drive from Bridgetown on the east coast, these gardenson just2.4 hectares (six acres) of lush groundsare home to an astounding variety of tropical and subtropical plants, from orchids to palms and species found only in Barbados. Thegardens were the personal project of Iris Bannochie, one of the island's leading 20th-century botanists, who began designingthemin 1954 and left themto the Barbados National Trust upon her death in 1988. An on-sitecafé is a good option for a light lunch."

Beautiful botanic gardens, filled with fabulous trees and wildlife. Great trail through the gardens with an audio tour app. A restaurant and cafe serving the most delicious pastries, so good we bought extra to take home! 10/10 recommend spending a morning here and stopping for some food at the end. Pick up a lovely local hand crafted gift in the gift shop on your way out 🥰

A little bit pricey IMO for entrance but it’s an absolutely lovely space for a stroll. Manicured very well and beautiful flowers. Unfortunately no monkeys were seen! But there were geckos:) Well worth heading to after the PEG Farm 15 min away by taxi.

Lush tropical garden with a large variety of plants, hummingbirds and butterflies. Very different from the other 2 botanical Gardens that we visited (Hunte's Garden and Tropical Garden Barbados) and definitely worth a visit. Very friendly administrator!

I am a fan of Botanical Gardens and this was by far one of the most beautiful peaceful Gardens I have ever been to. The staff were so kind and very helpful. I had the most delicious snack of a croissant and a coffee that was so fresh. I really enjoyed talking to the owner, Sharon, she was so lovely. I downloaded the app which I thought was extremely helpful explaining all of the beautiful Plants and Flowers that are a part of this garden. There is also a little cafe on site and a cute little locally sponsored shop. I saw lots of green monkeys! I traveled by bus and it was a long trip from the other side of island but definitely worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this visit!

It was a wonderful experience. Sharon was so helpful and knowledgable of the various flowers, trees and palms in the garden. It is by far one of the best gardens that I have visited to date. It has a wide variaty of flowers we also saw lots of butterflies. Visiting this garden really gave me an appreciation of the hard work, time and resources needed to maintain a garden of this calibre. I would encourage anyone to take a tour, donate and spend some time at Andrameda. It is free for locals and is nice and peaceful.

We had the garden tour with Sharon. Well worth it to find out about the local plants and their traditional usage. The garden is a ‘must visit’ for both visitors and locals.
