I really enjoyed the food from here, having read good things online, and I'm glad I popped in. Occupying a prime spot on Hoe Street a few doors down from McDonald's, previously occupied by Naan Stap, before they well and truly stopped trading.
Andy's unashamedly models itself on Five Guys, with the latter's influence evident in everything from the restaurant's red and white aesthetic, the menu choices, and the unbelievable amount of toppings to choose from, and it goes without saying that everything is cooked fresh and from scratch.
You may wait a few minutes longer than at some places, but it's worth it, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food is better than at Five Guys, and the prices are amongst the best value for a burger joint in Walthamstow, of which there are far too many, in 2025. The grandfather of all these type of restaurants, MeatLiquor, where I first went in 2010, remains my favourite.
The chicken burger was very good, with a seasoned panko-like coating and the skin-on fries were perfectly crispy, but the highlight was the double beef burger, which is as good a burger as I have had in 10 years. Great home-made hot sauce was provided in a container. Soft drinks were good, but a little sweet for my liking. The lack of any napkins in the bag for my takeaway order is my only criticism.
Would recommend this place 100%, and I'll be back.
