Delicious pastries, rich but balanced hot chocolate, and aesthetic and delicious food! We arrived on a Friday around 8:45am and only had 1 group in front of us in line, though it did still take about 17 minutes before we were seated. They also have a line for their shop where you can order pastries to go if you're not willing to wait in line. My friend ordered their famous hot chocolate, the caramelized French toast, and the chocolate and hazelnut crepe. I ordered the avocado toast and tried to order a seasonal summer juice but was told it wasn't available so had to settle for a green juice. My friend loved everything! The hotel chocolate was rich but wasn't cloyingly sweet so was very nice. I was very impressed with both the presentation of the avocado toast and the taste!

We managed to get in half hour before closing. Unfortunately this meant that most of the pastries had run out but not all. We came here primarily for the hot chocolate as we had heard lots about it. It did not disappoint! The hot chocolate was silky smooth and as thick as expected. The way the flavours danced and the chocolate coated the tongue felt great. The only small gripe was that the drink was not hot enough.

Google
One of the best hot chocolate in Paris. One of the famous cafes in Paris for their hot chocolate and desserts, long queues all day everyday. You would need to come early to avoid the long wait, I went at the time they opened. Inside the cafe looks amazing, there are two lines, one for dine in and one is for takeaway. The dine in side, inside has a grand display of tables, tea sets, art and a classic vibe. High tea and tea pots all around, a great place to relax and bask in the ambulance. The take away side, has a long bench of cakes and sweets on display, you can buy their famous hot chocolate in a bottle to go. The famous hot chocolate was rich, thick and velvety, they have a side of cream where you can add to taste by making it creamier or rich. Overall a great and fun experience, worth a visit.

Google
The hot chocolate is not as good as the one I had near Trocadéro, and one jug is more than enough for 2 people. The pastries were delicious, and the vibes and decor were perfect. Great place for a date and photos.

Google
Ordered the brunch special. Ginger/orange juice was amazing! Hot chocolate was good if not a bit rich, had to add milk to make it more palatable - obvious high quality chocolate. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was served cold and not well done; that was rectified quickly. Pierre Yves was our server. If you have him, you're in good hands. Great experience!

Google
We visited the place based on a recommendation from a friend, to try the famous hot chocolate and desert Mont Blanc. It was good but a bit overrated. The hot chocolate is rich and too thick and the desert was very sweet , the sugary taste of it overpowered the flavour of chestnuts. We also tried some breakfast items and the salad was excellent. We will visit the place again just to have the salad.

Google
I visited this place because of the good reviews but to me, it’s just okay. I tried their famous hot chocolate and I ordered some breakfast. Their omelette tasted bland and nothing too exemplary for its price. The chocolate was very thick for my liking almost tasted like “champorado” as a Filipino. Although, overall the service was great and the ambiance was amazing and fancy. Though I don’t think it’s really worth the price. But hey, it’s Paris so it’s a bit expensive.

Google
Popular place for hot chocolate, great ambience and comfortable sitting arrangement. All the desserts and breakfast dishes are top quality but a long queue awaits you so little bit of waiting time to enter the place due to its popularity. Hot chocolate is a must try since you won't get the same anywhere else. Staff was great with good coordination and smooth customer management.

Yelp
You must go before 10 am unless you don't mind waiting an hour or two. They are almost always busy, so don't expect quick service. The food is very good, omelette cooked perfectly and of course the chocolat chaud is divine! If you're going to complain about prices, this is not the place for you! It's not extravagant for Paris, but will be if you're from a one horse town in America

Yelp
I've visited Angelina's several times over the years. It's very touristy and famed, and a line often forms outside. I recommend going early to beat the rush. We went this year at 8:00 AM, and the main floor was already mostly full. The most famous thing there is the hot chocolate. It's very rich, creamy, and heavy, but I always look forward to it. I think during the winter, they sometimes have a stand outside the building just for hot chocolate. That being said, while it's a nice tradition, you can find better food elsewhere. I had really good scrambled eggs there last year and was excited to return. They ended up being quite different the second time around, which was disappointing. Overall, if you're in the Louvre area, it may be a good stop for food, but I wouldn't make it a must-visit. It's quite expensive for what you get. If it's your first time in Paris, check it out.

Yelp
More than 30 minutes wait In my personal opinion it's not worth it The quality of the food not the best Its just a trendy Tik Tok place with lack Of organization Its not clean i saw flies in my table. Ordered hot chocolate and croissants they were not amazing. The inside i wasn't impressed it looks old.

Yelp
This is a pretty well known chain - our second time at this location as well in Paris. I see that they do have some in New York. This time in Paris we learned the importance of planning and making reservations for dinner. This was the only restaurant that we tried that doesn't have a reservation or call ahead option. This meant that we knew we would wait in the queue to be seated. It was directly next door to the Christmas festival. The line wraps around and the wait was about 50-60 minutes. It is the same experience we had last time we waited. Question is: Is it worth the wait? For the experience YES. The inside is very glamorous and has a palacial ambiance. Our server was quite nice and the inside is VERY packed with other guests. They are known for their rich hot chocolate and side of whipped cream. INDULGENCE and RICHNESS is the key word here. It is all very decadent. And to top it off I got the cream ravioli with truffle sauce and then the white Mont Blanc. Mont Blanc is their signature dessert but I recommend a lighter option since the Mont Blanc is very intense and thick. They have a very extensive dessert menu making picking a dessert nearly impossible - just too much tempting choices. Eating here is a trek but I think a journey worth trying if you are ever in that area.

Maya Mayuko T.

Yelp
I have always dreamed of visiting Angelina in Paris to enjoy their Mont Blanc in the salon. However, when I arrived, there was an unbelievably long line in front of me. Since I didn't have much time, I gave up on visiting the salon and opted to take the Mont Blanc to go instead. The Mont Blanc was incredibly creamy with a lighter texture than I expected, which I really liked. It wasn't too sweet and had a strong chestnut flavor. The generous whipped cream filling paired perfectly with the chestnut cream. I loved it so much that I really wanted to get another one! At the takeout section, I saw a variety of cakes, baked goods, and chocolates, all with fancy and cute designs. I also glanced at the salon, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I hope to enjoy cake and tea there next time.

Yelp
I am a hot chocolate connoisseur. I had Angelina hot chocolate 3 times on my 6 day visit to Paris. We went at around 7:30 and got in the front of the line. We thought they would be open then from what we saw online but opening was really 8:00 I believe. The line didn't get too long. Once opened, we got seated and served very quickly. I got a cocoa with whip cream and a breakfast omelette with herbs and bacon. The cocoa was soooo good. Worth the hype. Super thick and rich. The whip cream cuts it perfectly. I wish there was more whip given!! The omelette was perfect. I normally don't like salad but I loved it. Perfectly light and crisp. Service was incredible. Super fast and the staff was very nice. The inside was beautiful! Not a ton of room though. Very cramped tables. The bathroom was very pretty too (upstairs). Would highly recommend Angelina.

Alysia D.

Yelp
So I just walked in and bought dessert to go. I did not eat at the restaurant, but I will say it must be good and popular because that line to get a table was long. My dessert was absolutely amazing

Alex M.

Yelp
Angelina was a must-visit on my Paris itinerary - even the summer heat couldn't stop me from indulging in their famed hot chocolate. The luxurious experience of sipping rich, molasses-thick chocolate in their opulent salon made me feel like royalty. The hot chocolate is so decadent, it's practically chocolate sauce that needs to be savored slowly. Perfect for sharing with a friend, the hot chocolate is served in a tea pot, with a side of whipped cream, that can serve 1-2 people. The salon is decorated with mirrors and paintings lining the walls, and it felt like we had been invited for afternoon tea at someone's fancy château. Our friendly server's meticulous presentation of our hot chocolate added to the overall charm. Angelina's desserts also looked incredible, and I want to try their mont blanc on my next visit. While touristy and a little over-the-top (in the best away), Angelina provides the full chocolate salon experience that I'd definitely come back for.

Danielle B.

Yelp
As good as I remember! I stopped in for lunch. The food was amazing. We tried the fish and chips, burger and truffle pasta. Everything was delicious. For dessert we had hot chocolate, a must, a lemon tart and a Ruhm Baba. I loved everything but next time I would skip with rum soaked baba, there were other things that look better.

Haylee M.

Yelp
Hot chocolate is definitely worth the hype!! There was a line outside for the tea room, But you can just enter if you're taking things to go. Went in. Picked up three hot chocolates and just sipped it outside there itself. It was rich and creamy and smooth and just overall beautiful! Definitely recommend to anyone coming to Paris.

Brad H.

Yelp
This should be a must stop place for anyone in the Louvre area. My dining experience at Angelina was absolutely incredible from start to finish. My wife and I had our two year old son with us. This is a very upscale place. It is quieter and not really kid friendly, unless you have a child who is either well behaved or can be distracted with an ipad. Luckily ours was having a good day! The servers were so friendly from the start. They set us up in a great spot, had a high chair for him, and even had coloring books/utensils. We started off with mimosas and their starter breads. The mimosa was so crisp and good. Great bread as well. For my meal, I had the Angelina Cheeseburger, which I highly recommend. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and may have been the best burger I have ever had. It came topped with béchamel cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and pickled onions. The béchamel cheese sauce put every bite over the top. An incredible juicy and flavorful burger, held together on a nice brioche bun. Overall, it was a great meal for us all. They also have some delicious macaroons!

Yelp
Hot chocolate was barely warm--what's the point????????????????????????????????????????

Sarita P.

Yelp
Yes wood recommend for the experience. My daughter loved the hot chocolate ( extremely creamy and rich). I got an omelette which was nothing but egg and some pastry's. Enriching was too sweet for me.

Yelp
When my husband and I did our European vacation this past September, Paris was our last stop. My only request was 3 thing. to see the Eiffel Tower, Visit the Versailles and have a brunch at this marvelous brunch place called Angelina :) That morning was so rainy but it did not let my spirit stop us from trying the famous hot chocolate (thank you tiktok lol) we went there early, I think they open at 8 am on a Thursday we were there by 8:15? I already expect that there will be a long line but lo and behold there was no line!!! it was meant to be! (but to be honest probably it was the rain) we were greeted when we enter the restaurant and got seated right away. The ambiance on the restaurant was definitely amazing and so Parisian! there was a lot of people already seated and for them being open just 15 minutes just tells you this is the place to go. as we were looking at the menu my husband and I decided to order the brunch tower? (I'm sorry I couldn't remember the actual name of it) but this menu came with everything from drinks, tower of assorted pastries, breakfast sandwich and it was a dream! everything was pretty amazing! the presentation and the taste was really really good and too bad we couldn't eat the whole thing. to be honest my husband and I can just share that brunch tower and I think we will be okay because it was just too much but for the price you pay it was definitely worth it! we did splurged because YOLO. Service was surprisingly very good! I said surprising because we are in Europe and don't expect great service but Angelina is all about their food and service, they are on point and quick and they make sure you are well taken care off! I highly recommend Angelina as a stop when you are in Paris. just make sure you are here early.

Serena Z.

Yelp
Angelinas is known for their world famous hot chocolate and signature mont blanc. we ordered: *old fashioned hot chocolate $12 *signature mont-blanc $12 *trocadero $11.50 this was the fanciest hot chocolate i've ever tried lol. it was fun assembling it and mixing in the whipped cream but honestly taste wise, it was eh and a bit too sweet and thick for me. i was also not a big fan of the mont blanc (chestnut dessert) but the trocadero was soo yummy. it's made with hazelnut and chocolate and reminded me of ferrero rocher. I had high expectations but this kind of fell short of them. This is just my preference. If you prefer a thicker and richer hot chocolate, then I would recommend you give this spot a try!

Hadas E.

Yelp
Very unique place. The environment is very beautiful with all the different furniture although the food doesn't have many options. This is a very good brunch spot with delicious macarons. I tired the hot chocolate and it was pretty good, but kind of gave me a headache considering how thick it is. If you're looking for a cool experience, you should come here as it is a very nice place in Paris.

Yarn Y.

Yelp
Such a classy place ! Been around for 120 years, and there's a good reason for that . The hot chocolate is the signature and indeed is amazing - thick and rich , not too sweet and something in the alchemy it creates w the whipped cream just generates a magical taste The mount blanc , their classic cake with the chestnut cream was also amazing - the cream is very unique and yummy The weakest part was the eclair - the dough felt a little soggy and wasn't up to par , compared to the other items Yes, we did wait in line , and yes it did take 75 mins - is it worth it ? We think it is . Prices are on the high side , but this is really a classic . Worth it !

Joan N.

Yelp
Food was delicious (ordered hamburger and club sandwiches). However, expect a wait to get a table. Our service was not good. Waiter lost our order and was slow at serving lunch.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
The Internet made me do it, and I am so happy it did! Every positive thing you've heard about Angelina, believe it! The service is extraordinary, the restaurant is so cute, and the food is impeccable! I highly recommend getting one of the French breakfast or there's lots of little things to choose from, including their world, famous hot chocolate!! It will rock your world!

Yelp
I dine at the renowned restaurant Angelina and I must say, it was quite an experience. While there were a few highlights worth mentioning, I must admit that I was not entirely impressed with my visit. Let's start with the positive aspects. The breakfast at Angelina was undeniably great. The menu offered a wide variety of options, from classic dishes to more innovative creations. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the flavors were well-balanced. I particularly enjoyed their freshly baked pastries, which were simply delightful. Moving on to the food, I must say it was good, but not exceptional. The dishes were well-prepared and presented beautifully, but they lacked that wow factor that one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. While the flavors were decent, they didn't leave a lasting impression. It felt like a missed opportunity to truly showcase the richness and complexity of French cuisine. Now, let's talk about the service, which was undoubtedly the highlight of my visit. The staff at Angelina was simply amazing. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Despite the great breakfast and amazing service, I must say that my overall experience at Angelina fell short of my expectations. While the food was good, it lacked that extra touch to make it truly memorable. Considering the reputation and price point of this establishment, I was hoping for a more exceptional dining experience.

Sarah C.

Yelp
I was told this was the best hot chocolate in all of Paris. After trying it out, I have to admit it was good, but not the best. The hot chocolate comes in a little pot with whip cream on the side. The presentation is very cute. You can't beat the interior of this place. It is stunning inside and out. The service was alright. Overall, I have to say I had higher hopes for this place. There was nothing particularly wrong, it was just ok...

Walter R.

Yelp
A must see Paris destination. There is always a line to get in, but it moves surprisingly quick. Beautiful French decor. Service is at a relaxed pace, so this is for social eating, and not eat and run. The super rich and creamy hot chocolate is their signature dish, however all the pastries and breakfast items are great, especially the gorgeous and delicious avocado toast. . However, we were not crazy about the lunch items. We had the roast chicken, and fish and chips, and they were good, but not the same level as all the sweets. Anyway, it's one of the places you have to check off your bucket list.

Amy T.

Yelp
Angelina's hot chocolate is so not overhyped!! It was so rich and sweet but not overwhelmingly sugary. If you haven't tried it before, it's definitely a place you must try at least once in Paris. The crepe was also pretty good and had a nice crunchy texture - not sure what it was but it was good, maybe candied hazelnuts?

Aldo Q.

Yelp
We found Angelina through a friend's recommendation. Their pastries are out of this world. Our servers were terrific, and from what we saw around the restaurant, all of them were proud of working there. It's a lively place, food coming up and down the aisle, yet it doesn't feel rushed or frantic. This is a good place to have breakfast before going to the Louvre.

Dianna H.

Yelp
I kept hearing about Angelina when looking up things to do in Paris, so I figured I should try it at least once. It was good but not amazing, though worth trying once so you can check it off your Paris list. My friend and I woke up super early due to jet lag, so we decided to come for an early breakfast before hitting up the Louvre. I'm glad we did, since there was already a long line of people when we left at 9:30 am! We came on a Friday morning around 8:40 and snagged one of the last open tables. The main seating area is a in a big room with all the tables close together, while we were in a smaller room in the back. Even though it was packed in the main room, it was also super quiet when we walked in. I guess everyone was focused on eating and not chatting. It was early, so we opted to share their Parisian breakfast ($23), which comes with your choice of tea, coffee, OR hot chocolate, fresh fruit juice, croissant and pan au chocolat, and a baguette. I also ordered a vanilla millefeuille pastry ($10.50) on the side. The hot chocolate is what they're known for, so we chose that. Just make sure you know what you're getting in for; it's quite thick and rich. When you're drinking it, it's feels like you're drinking straight up melted chocolate more than anything else. My friend took one sip and was done, while I slowly sipped away at it until I finished. I enjoyed it, but it was a little too rich and sweet for me at 9 am. The rest of the items in the breakfast set was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I loved the vanilla millefeuille and thought the cream inside was very light and went perfectly with the crispy layers, which tasted vaguely of hazelnut. The millefeuille is what pushes my rating of this place from 3 to 4 stars. After dining here, you can visit the bakery at the front of the restaurant to pick up some more items to go. Their pastries looked bomb, but I was too sugared out to consider buying any. Service here is quite slow. It took a while for the servers to come take our order and give us the check, though food comes out quickly after you order.

Troy B.

Yelp
My absolute favorite spot from my recent Paris trip! It 100% lives up to the hype and I'd highly recommend carving out time to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM and though we were expecting the line to be long, it wasn't too bad! We only waited about 15-20 minutes. The interior here is huge and they're a well-oiled machine, so even if the line might be intimidating, it does go fast. The vibes here are exquisite, and exactly what you'd imagine. It's so adorable and homey, yet chic and elegant. It can be a rather tight space depending on where you get seated, but breakfast in Paris doesn't get much better than this. My friend and I both got the Angelina breakfast, and each item was so delicious, though unsurprisingly, the Hot Chocolate is the star. So decadent!! The croissants, eggs, and bread were also a hit, and I love their in-house spreads and jams. We also got a ton of little trinkets, souvenirs, and pastries before leaving. An absolute must!

Alejandra D.

Yelp
Yall, the breakfast here was okay. If you're coming just for the hot chocolate, it's not as pretty or impressive as Carrette. Carrette wins in the hot chocolate for me. The interior was beautiful but as you got to the back back near the restrooms, it seemed to have been forgotten. The decor wasn't that nice, it felt cramped and that's where we were seated. I don't know why but the pastries on the menu are more expensive by 2-4 euros than the SAME pastries in the bakery display shop. There was a separate line JUST for the bakery. I'd recommend you do that instead, save yourself the euros and time of waiting in the long line to dine in. The mont-blanc is one of their iconic desserts and it's pretty but the taste wasn't there and didn't finish it. The rest of the breakfast was okay but nothing too special. Yall know the coffee in France is small and expensive. it wasn't even espresso. I asked our server if they did refills and he's like "no. you just buy another coffee". LOL. Also, our server was pushy at the end and made us give him a tip. The bill didn't have tip included and we were speaking in Spanish and our mistake was discussing this while he was standing there and he knew the Spanish word for 'tip' and was like, "how much do you want to add?" (while holding the card machine in his hand so he could enter the amount. HOW AWKWARD!!!!! Across the street was the gardens which were lovely to walk through and you're close to the Louvre too. If you reallyyyy truly want to try this place, just go to the bakery :)

Will H.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast spot. My wife and I were recommended to come here before our trip to Paris. Thankfully we listened and showed up early. There was a line before they even opened and had to wait for over 30 minutes. The table we were seated at was super small but everything comes out in small plates so it fits. The inside is gorgeous and really made it a nice date spot. Even the bathroom seemed kind of fancy but a little run down. The food was incredible. I don't think I will ever have a glass of orange juice that good again for the rest of my life. Their jams were also wonderful and paired well with the assortment of breads at our table. I did however order the omelette and can say that it could have been a little better but I have very high standards for omelettes. Since this is near the Louve, I highly recommend going here before your day at the museum.

Shirley C.

Yelp
I wish I tried Carette's hot chocolate too to compare, but I can't imagine a hot chocolate being better than Angelina's. I was worried it would be too bitter and heavy but it was the perfect flavor of chocolate without being too sweet! the consistency was perfectly smooth too and adding whipped cream only made it taste better! the whipped cream wasn't sweet which I think was perfect. while the hot chocolate stole the show, my croque monsieur was also super good! I didn't expect much from the food so I was very pleasantly surprised. the inside was absolutely stunning as you'd guess and it didn't take very long at all to get a table! my only regret is not getting a bottle to take home with me to the US. the croissant was also amazing, I wasn't expecting much from it either!!

Grace W.

Yelp
If you're in Paris and you wanna try Hot Chocolate, any place you go it's going to be good. But i also had lunch here at the Palace of Versailles and the actual food was also amazing! Mashed potatoes, fresh chicken. The Hot Chocolate is obviously the feature. If you're planning to go here just for sweets don't count out having a meal here as well.

Elle Z.

Yelp
I got their super early. My hotel was literally right there, so it was easy. The dining room is pretty, but the service was not friendly... at least I felt that way. I ordered their hot chocolate because I have heard so much about it. I drank a few sips and never finished it. The croissant was just like the rest. I would never return and was not impressed at all.

Aishwarya V.

Yelp
I tried their famous hot chocolate and loved it. While the desserts were good, they didn't quite blow me away.

Keila M.

Yelp
I was here in 2017 and when I was here this year I knew I had to come back because there is nothing like Angelina's hot chocolate. You don't need much, it's so rich and delicious! And the place is just beautiful.

Mario P.

Yelp
As im standing outside in this cold weather im kinda frustrated because i woke up to have a taste of this amazing restaurant for breakfast. But as im here they haven't opened and they just keep coming outside looking at the line. Suckkkkks Ill write another review based on the service and food next.

Troy S.

Yelp
Okay so Angelina definitely is worth the wait, the place has some of the best pastries and sweets in Paris! The chocolate they pour on top is some of the best ive ever had! The inside is absolutely jaw dropping, the design is something truly unique and so special!

Elliott L.

Yelp
First there was a decently long line to get in so keep that in mind. The place presents itself as fancy but there is no dress code. The food all looks good and I had the Avocado toast. It looked amazing but it stops there. I tried some other items that were good like the thick hot chocolate which is very thick and is more like chocolate syrup than hot chocolate. Overall it was a good place but I feel the food could be improved by focusing less on looks but looks get instagram followers.

Abitha T.

Yelp
The hot chocolate I've had on this trip to Paris! The desserts were so creative and beautiful, almost too pretty to eat haha

Yuen L.

Yelp
This review is for takeaway only because I didn't feel like waiting in the cold to be cramped inside. This cafe is SUPER BUSY all the time no matter what time of the day it is there's a line outside. I ordered the hot chocolate and it did not disappoint. Walking in the cold, into the jardin du Tuileries with my hot cocoa and sipping it was truly a great experience, one that is quintessential to being in Paris, in the 9th arondissment. Their mini Mont Blancs were to die for -- you get the traditional chestnut, pistachio and raspberry. All were good and not too sweet, to my surprise! I will be back for more goodies and for that hot chocolate!

Raj T.

Yelp
We visited the famed Angelina and were underwhelmed with the experience. They cater to mostly tourists now (and we were too, having heard of it from various travel shows). The wait can be 20-30 min. Seating is very tight. We felt the next table was sharing the meal with us. The service is not very good. Prices are high. And the food was mediocre. The famed hot chocolate was just ok. Very thick and sweet. We had the fish, salad, fruit cocktail amongst the other items. Every one was 5/6 out of 10. Did I say the service was poor. There are much better, more authentic bistros and cafes in Paris. Skip Angelina !

Shuba S.

Yelp
A vacation to Paris is incomplete without a trip to Angelina, so that's what we did. So glad we did! A few of us ordered the brunch, which in itself is a multi-course menu starting with hot chocolate, assorted croissants (plain and chocolate), mini baguettes, that are served with their signature jam in tiny bottles and butter (that alone deserves a paragraph IMO), and your choice of juices and beverages. I opted for their mushroom and cheese omelette. Fluffy is an understatement. It felt like biting into a warm, pillowy, cloud. Their hot chocolate was delicious. It's thicker than your regular hot cocoa, but trust me, you will be left so satisfied at the end. For dessert I had their signature Mont Blanc. It's milky flavored because of the whipped cream and sweet from the marzipan. A bit too sweet to my liking. Couldn't finish the entire thing so ended up sharing. They had a mango flavor so probably I should have tried that. Service was great; the decor is beautiful, and we didn't mind the 45 minute wait.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Not worth the hype :( Angelina Cafe is a very popular and viral cafe in Paris known for their hot chocolate. It is also popular for its Mont Blanc and other desserts. I waited in line for a little less than an hour for a table. Do note, that you can go in and bypass the line if you just want to order to-go/ just grab a pastry. There was a long line when I went. The interior of the cafe is BEAUTIFUL. It is so pretty and the ambiance was amazing. The decoration was so pretty, coquette, and perfect for brunch or a snack. The property is also quite large with two floors and many tables to accomodate the crowd. Food: Unfortunately, I do not have good things to say about the food. I ordered the hot chocolate, a paris brest, and a croissant. The hot chocolate was indeed rich and decadent, but it was almost like drinking melted chocolate. To be fair I am not a chocolate person, so perhaps others will like it. Actually yes, I will give Angelina a point for this one because I do think chocolate lovers would like this drink. It was very rich and creamy. The croissant was not great. It was dry, not buttery nor fluffy on the inside. I didn't try the paris brest, but my friend said it was just okay. Service: Service was good I wish it was worth the hype, but unfortunately it was not.

Yelp
TLDR; angelina offers delicious hot chocolate (it indeed met my expectations). 8.90 gets you cream and a pot that can fill two small teacups to share which satisfied my sweet craving, but the hot chocolate is good enough that i could easily drink my own too. visit on a weekday, particularly in the morning, for a shorter queue. // store, location, service // angelina is located in central paris near rue da rivoli, the gardens, and museums. this location no longer takes reservations, so we arrived at 9:30am on a thursday morning. the queue was short and we waited around 10-15 minutes for a table. our waitress took our order quickly and our hot chocolate arrived very quickly. // chocolat chaud, crème fouetté (hot chocolate, whipped cream) 8.90 // we came to angelina for the hot chocolate. one order gets you a pot which is enough to fill two teacups, along with a small cup of cream. a lot of people order one pot per person, but we decided to start with one (and it ended up being enough for the two of us to share since it is rich and sweet). the hot chocolate was very good! it was clearly made with good quality chocolate, probably dark chocolate. the drink was very rich and it was sweet, but surprisingly not too much. it was also nice to add the bits of cream on the top and let it melt into the drink as we sipped it. we looked at the pastries and other menu items, but they seemed to be quite overpriced and a lot of reviews said they were okay. nothing really caught our eye, so we just got the hot chocolate. i'd recommend angelina for the hot chocolate and would return!

Yelp
absolutely sinful hot chocolate from angelina in paris. just kidding, it was okay but a little overrated. very rich and chocolatey i got full quite quickly. eggs benny was pretty sapid but the bacon slices were very petite and they could've given more hollandaise. overall good experience and the restaurant was aesthetic!

Yelp
Our visit to Angelina was amazing. The hot chocolate is, of course, the most famous item on the menu, and it lives up to that reputation. The attention to detail and spectacular service is truly amazing. All of the food items from the croissants to the jams to the fluffy scrambled eggswere absolutely scrumptious. It would be wonderful to live like this every day

Yelp
We waited in line for less than an hour to get seated. The hostess keep the line moving and tables are rotated fairly quickly. Hot chocolate is worth the hype. It's thick and not extremely sweet, which gives you incentive to add more whipped cream to your cup. We also ordered the mount blanc, which was a bit chewy on the outside and generally lacked flavor. I wouldn't recommend it and try something else. Glad we tried the hot chocolate, but with so many other cafes in Paris, not sure if it's worth going back.

Yelp
The hot chocolate is amazing! Had Parisian breakfast which was more than enough for me but my husband wanted to try the French onion soup, he says it was the best he has ever had and he has been searching all over since 1978 when he had his first bowl. Enough said. Oh, and the server was absolutely great!

Yelp
It's the best hot chocolate I've had and the best mont blanc. The macarons and croissant were bad. The tart was decent. Would I come again? No. Do you have to come here? In my opinion no. It was a 30 minute wait outside of peak hours and everything was so rich and sweet that we couldn't finish anything. Just go to the right and take out a hot chocolate to try it. If yoy want the mont blanc, go straight to the gift store and buy it there.

Yelp
Great place if you want to try some authentic French cuisine, mainly breakfast items. There was a big line and it took 30 mins for is to get in. We ordered the croissant, hot chocolate and mont blanc. Honestly I feel the hot chocolate was over rated. It was rich and creamy at the same time it was bitter. I like the L.A. Burdick hot chocolate better. But the croissant and Mont blanc dessert was out of the world. Especially Mont blanc that was made out of chestnut. Tasted very similar to an Indian dessert. Loved it! Must try!

Yelp
Angelina is definitely a very touristy spot. If you get here, you're more than likely to have to wait in a line. The line moves pretty quickly though, so it's definitely worth the wait. The hot chocolate is so good!!! I also got some brunch food, but I would skip food all together - it was just ok. The hot chocolate is truly the star.
