"Chef Alex Harrell’s French Quarter jewel Angeline will close at its current French Quarter location after dinner service on June 3, according to a statement released this afternoon. However, this isn’t goodbye forever: Harrell plans to reopen elsewhere. After negotiating terms of the lease renewal for the restaurant’s current home, Harrell decided to move operations “in order to maintain the integrity of our business operations and staff culture,” Harrell, who is also co-owner, said in a statement. “This move will allow for increased stability and longevity.” The opening chef at Sylvain, he left to open Angeline in the former Stella space in 2015. It quickly gained national attention for its southern fare. Sofia Coppola once named it one of her favorite restaurants in New Orleans, especially for Sunday dinner. No word yet on when or where the beloved restaurant will reopen." - Stephanie Carter

Fantastic Southern food with an elegant twist. Waitress recommended the boudin and it was incredible, never really had anything like it before. It's pork sausage with rice mixed in and lightly fried to a crisp. Portions are deceptively filling as well.

The pictures don't do it justice. The food is flavorful without being "cliché southern". A judicious hand in the kitchen and warm, caring service. If you wanna eat at a trough, go elsewhere. The food here is worth your interest. A delight.

We went here for brunch and it was absolutely incredible! The Sherry flight was really interesting and delicious. They make unusual cocktails so be sure to get the details before you order them. We had two different kinds of Bloody Marys and they were very different from anything we've ever had before. The blueberry Donuts are to die for! Everything we had was delicious. Go out back and look at the little Courtyard before you go.

Fantastic dinner option. I still dream about that Dry-aged duck breast. Incredibly juicy with a delicious crispy skin. I beg you to please try it! AMAZING.

To anyone who is a local or a tourist this is the best restaurant you will ever eat at. Great service from our server Mr. Clay, their gulf shrimp and steak was so delicious it's unbelievable. You have to give it a try. I wish I can go for more stars, five stars not enough. Very happy and satisfied me and my wife. Highly recommended

Really fantastic food. Service was highly attentive (maybe too much so) but lacked refinement. The crab linguine was to die for. Also loved the veal (perfectly cooked) and the fried quail. The baked oysters were fine, but too many other flavours killed the oysters. I would recommend this place to anyone in NOLA. I suggest asking for a table at the front of the restaurant which seems cosier and better atmosphere.

We love this place! We went there as it was next to our hotel, the Provincial, and discovered that Angeline's is a true gem. Crisp interior, very attentive and knowledgeable waitress. My cocktail (Last word) was wonderful. All our dishes not only looked, but tasted great. In addition, this Angeline's will also not only accommodate, but truly satisfy the vegetarians and vegans in your party.

We came here for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The blueberry donuts are TO DIE FOR. My husband loved the fried chicken biscuit. He also had the pork belly sandwich-- not something you can get may places-- and he said it was really good. I had the "Eggs in Hell" and thought it was heavenly. We ate out in the courtyard. We felt like we were in a quaint cafe in Europe. Would highly recommend. Just be prepared to spend a little money.
