Angelo Elia The Bakery Bar is a must-visit for anyone staying at Turtle Nest Bungalow — just about 5 minutes away and one of our guests’ favorite spots for a true Italian café experience. We enjoyed cappuccinos paired with fresh panini, which was absolutely perfect. On past visits, we’ve also brought home their gelato and authentic Italian cookies — always a hit. If you’re looking for real Italian coffee, house-made pastries, and a warm European bakery-bar vibe, this is the place to go. Highly recommended! ☕

Everything we had was perfection. The croissant dough & skill is top tier. We saw fresh pastries coming out the back. Great for breakfast, sweet treat, coffee break or lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. The ladies greeted and served us promptly. Free parking but its limited (prob 15 spaces).

Randomly stumbled upon Angelo’s Bakery and I’m so glad I did. The place has a very chill vibe—clean, welcoming, and low-key. The food was excellent, fresh, and made with real care. What really stood out was the Italian staff—super friendly and made the whole experience feel like home. It’s rare to find a spot that hits all the right notes like this one. Definitely coming back!

We’re from Cincinnati and come down for Inter Miami Soccer games, we come here every morning for breakfast! The frittatas, quiches, croissants, coffee, cookies & gelato are all 100 ⭐️ Stars!! They make everything in house with lots of love!! We love the staff and we’re so thankful to have found this amazing gem!!!!

Italian based bakery & cafe with counter service and a welcoming tranquil outside covered patio. Several free parking spaces surround the business with the busy front patio visual to passerbys along Oakland Park Blvd. Caught a glimpse of the large sign "The Bakery Bar" while driving by and it looked intriguing so had to take a peek. The front patio was filled with patrons having their morning pastry and coffee discussing the booming stock market. The scent of fresh bread blasted through my nostrils and noticed several loaves of bread standing prominently at attention behind the cashier, hovering above the pastry display, as I ordered a Julius Meinl Austrian med-roast espresso. Loved the attention to detail with the presention of my espresso served in a miniature cup on a saucer along with a metal spoon and a heart shape sugar cookie which was a nice touch. Quenched my thirst and onto my next adventure.

I have heard about this bakery a few time, decided to try it out. I wanted to like it very much, but liked it a little :) It looks like a place for the locals. There is parking. Service was ok, I am not too high-maintenance when it comes to service. We ordered two croissants, two cappuccinos. The croissant with salmon was warmed up by my request, but it was cold inside. Both croissants were tasty. My concern was the prices. Really steep for a small casual place. I came from Miami and I haven't seen similar prices anywhere. Was rather shocked. I would recommend if you go without expectations and don't mind to pay more than usual.

The pastries are fresh and delicious. It's a French bakery and the service is French and friendly. It is a cute cafe for a quick coffee date.

On my way to a meeting on the east side of Broward County and stopped at an always great spot for a cappuccino. Today did not disappoint. I found a seat outside. The server brought out my order without delay. I enjoyed my coffee, a couple pieces of mandel bread on the patio and all is good.

My niece found some nice gluten free pastries at Angelo's. The Capuchino Chocolate pastry was moist, decadent and delicious. The almond orange one was really tasty with lots of almond notes. The staff was really nice, helpful and very pleasant. There are nice places to sit inside (AC) or outside (patio). Parking can be limited at peak hours due to the amount of customers.

This is a really nice and popular coffee/brunch places with great vibes. We were a large party of 12 and chose to dine outside. It was super casual and we felt relaxed. You pay upfront when you order and then the staff brings the order to you. The service was pretty quick even on a weekend. I had a croissant panini with an iced cappuccino. Good and relatively reasonable prices. There is plenty of parking but it can get filled up during peak hours. You might need to wait a few because it is a floating population. All of us were able to find parking in the adjacent lot though.

I had only ever been here one time before and it was literal years ago, and despite everything in the glass display windows looking amazing, I am realizing why I've never been back. First off, the customer service was very cold. No smile. The girl who took my order seemed like she didn't care to be there. No personality at all, and I am in the food & restaurant industry so thats always annoying. I wanted a breakfast sandwich so I ordered the spinach, mozzarella, egg croissant. The girl asked me if I wanted it warmed up and of course I said, "yes", because who wants a cold breakfast sandwich. I'll start by saying the croissant was very good! But that was the only thing that was enjoyable. The spinach was a cooked spinach but was wet and cold. The egg and cheese too were cold, and it appeared the egg was some kind of egg beaters patty like egg, and not a cracked fresh cooked egg. So I basically received a cold wet breakfast sandwich on a toasted croissant, for $12.50. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! The Orange juice is fresh squeezed, so of course it was delicious because you can't mess that up, and fresh juice is always expected to be more expensive so $6 wasn't a huge surprise there, but definitely won't do that again either. The real disappointment here was the sandwich. I would definitely steer clear of ordering one of their breakfast sandwiches. They had many other items that did look good and maybe would be worth giving a try, (the gelato was tempting) but after spending $18.50 plus tip for what I received I won't be stepping back in there for a while if ever again.

Decent service, great food. My recommendation after a night of drinking is a cup of tomato soup, with grilled cheese or a panini. They have incredible coffee and a huge selection of sandwiches, some are on croissants and some are made in regular bread. Definitely very flavorful and delicious food. If you are siting outside make sure your table is clean they are super busy so sometimes that slips their mind. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

Great food and great ambiance . Service has always been sketchy .I've always tipped for good or even mediocre service but when someone automatically expects it when I'm picking up my own food and beverage repeatedly then perhaps they could figure it out themselves.Ive also been to Angelo's(when it was still open) Cafe de Angelos and also one in Boca that I cannot remember the name of but pretty amazing and they all have unbelievably great service then maybe the sandwich shop could possibly figure it out .

Amazing authentic Italian bakery with excellent sandwiches and pastries, delicious coffee, and service with a smile! I love that they have a simple orange juice fresh squeezed without charging you an arm and a leg for it. The ambiance is always relaxed here and clean! I highly recommended!!! My only qualm with this bakery is not having enough gluten free options for being a "bakery". But I do want to say if you're feeling brave , try their croissants. As a gluten free baddie , I did not react to it nor it gave me digestion issues. But I wouldn't do it often either. Bathrooms are always super super clean and I appreciate that.

Please provide fresh baked goods, as the sweets were stale. We visited on a weekday afternoon, and although I knew they were preparing to close, the sweets were sadly not as expected.

I recently got back from a trip abroad in Italy and missed the authentic itailian pastries and cappuccinos. Angela Elia hit the spot. A little taste of Italy some might say. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an authentic Italian breakfast place and/or bakery.

Rhis place is actually really cute Interms of the decor with a wide selection of bites, pastries and ice cream: however the service when checking out left a lot to be desired. They were very unfriendly to the person ordering before and then myself. I literally felt like I wasn't welcomed there as if I was trespassing.

Everything is very good I loved the pistacchio croissant and the zeppole also good fresh orange juice excellent service

The food was good. Pastries were little soggy. Sandwich quantity was good but you pay that good price for it. Gelato was delicious. Plenty of seating. I went to grab lunch at 1 PM. There was no line but service was slow.

Very cute place and an awesome ambience. In the heat of the summer their inside seating was a blessing with the AC blasting and when you sit near their gorgeous display of pastries and desserts it becomes the best place to hang out. Prices were a bit high and draws a trendy crowd with French accents and Lululemon clothing. Me on the other hand loosened a few shirt buttons to enjoy the meal. Service us prompt, and the food was really good. I ordered the salmon croissant with 2 eggs and brie which was very tasty and I had it toasted to add a bit more flavor. My daughter ordered the folded omelet which came with tamotoes, arugula and cheese and even though I was allowed only one bite, she commented it was 'Solid" Just for giggles we also ordered the almond croissant which tasted good but was a bit messy to eat as it is pretty rich and soaks in pretty quickly. Overall a must stop on our future visits to Ft. Lauderdale.

Such a cozy spot. My first time visiting this bakery and I was in awe. I was greeted by the smell of the Italian pastries. I was so lost in food, I was confused on what to order. Everything looked so good! I decided to order the Ham and cheese omelette with a cappuccino. The egg was so fluffy! The omelette was packed with ham and cheese- it was so filling.

The dessert here is superb and love coming here for a coffee and cake break. The food is typical cafe food. It is a great spot for sitting to enjoy a good cup of coffee and the staff is nice.

Absolutely delicious paninis and coffee! My first trip here made me an instant fan. The restaurant is small and casual. There's an outdoor dining area too if you can tolerate our humidity. Service was friendly and efficient. I'll be returning soon to try the desserts!

Omg! I don't know where to begin. I have been eying this bakery for sometime now but hesitated to come in due to conflict between my insatiable sweet tooth and my current lifestyle changes. Finally stopped in and I was not disappointed. They had so many delicious baked goods to choose from, alongside an array of sandwich options. Being that my boyfriend and I went around 8am, we kept it light. I had the pistachio croissant (to die for) with an iced cafe mocha and my boyfriend had the Turkey, Brie and cranberry croissant with a latte. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back!

This place reminded me a lot of Italy! Besides the prices, this spot had the feel of a little authentic cafe in a piazza in Italy. It was busy for a Sunday morning, and a lot of the croissants were already sold out, which was a bummer because I really wanted to try the pistachio! I ordered a double espresso, as I would in Italy, although it felt more like I got a single. However, it was delicious. The almond croissant was filled with this tasty almond paste. I liked the bomboloni, although not the best I've had. It had a light filling, and the dough seemed heavier than usual. It's a nice find and definitely had plenty of different sweet treats to indulge in. Great spot to check out before shopping nearby or just to have a quick coffee and pastry.

Food and drinks were great -- I got the prosciutto panini. An iced americano, fresh and tasty. Took home chocolate and almond croissants *chefs kiss*. Very chill vibes, super quiet which I enjoyed. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

I had the best panini of my entire life here. Although I did not order any pastries, they looked delicious. There appears to be a group of regulars who know one another. The atmosphere was like a welcoming but relaxed family. People were sitting, chatting, enjoying coffee and each other's company.

Best chocolate croissant hands down! I was mad that I shared with my kids! The latte was delicious too! A definite must try! So cute inside too. Small crowd sat at the bar speaking Italian. Felt like we were inside a restaurant in Italy. Loved every minute.

The restaurant is located on the south side of Oakland Park just west of Federal Highway (US1). It's best reached from the west so you can pull into their private parking lot. They have some limited outside dining under a covered canopy. We chose to sit inside the a/c dining room. The menu of sandwiches and specials were listed on the chalkboard on the wall and on the bakery counter. You can view the numerous pastries, breads, gelato flavors, and sample plates through the glass counters. Although there were not that many others dining on site while we were there, they were doing a lot of takeout. Many of their items are prepared and just needed heating up. My husband got a sandwich on a croissant that included prosciutto, stracchino cheese, and fig spread. He said it was very very good. I ordered a sandwich on ciabatta bread with parma ham, fresh mozzarella, and arugula. It was toasted crispy. Also delicious. And came with a small bag of potato chips. Although they had all sorts of coffees, we both chose to have an Italian soda -- the cold from the cooler blood orange Pellegrino. We've had this before and liked it. I took half my sandwich home (breakfast the next morning ) as I wanted to have room to try a bite of one of their baked goods. I got their apple tart/danish. The square open topped pastry had layered apples in the middle on top of an almond cream base. It was tasty as well as eye appealing. This is another find. I'm already planning a return visit. It's a convenient meet up spot for a casual Italian lunch with lots of choices, including some delicious desserts.

This is a must do every time we are in Fort Lauderdale. We love sitting outside on the side patio having breakfast. The cappuccino and pastries take me back to Italy. The pastries are incredible. And it's alway so hard to choose just one, which is why I never do. The service is great, explaining what certain pastries are or just a good morning everyone is very friendly there.

This was so disappointing, pass by this place everyday and thought it was going to be good. Instead I was met with a stare rather than a hello and when I asked about the frittata rolls and what was in one of them I was treated like I was bothering the girl behind the counter. I picked out the salmon frittata roll to eat there and she said it would just be a minute, she'll bring it to me at a table. It was already made so after 15 minutes of waiting I finally went back to ask another employee behind the counter where was my order? I saw her pull take it out of a heater or oven. It tasted like they forgot it in a timed oven the egg wrap was way overcooked and all brown and the salmon. Inside was way overcooked and tasted like it was heated up and then already cold and cooled down. It was so disgusting. I took one bite and told the employee it was not good at all and I was just going to leave it at the table. No apologies given, just a look like I was crazy.. what a waste of time and money. How long would I have been sitting there while the original girl forgot my order and disappeared? For something that's already made, I could have got a fresh one for 15 minutes. I won't be returning if these are the low standards for quality of food and customer service here. Maybe if the employees talked less to each other and payed more attention to the customers, and treated them like they were valued rather than a bother they would not have forgotten.

Great cup of cappuccino and my friends rave over the pastries and other food choices the 4-5 times I've been there on an early Saturday or Sunday. It reminds me of the bakeries my father would take us to after church growing up and that's a good thing!!

One of my favorite bakeries. The croissants are insanely good and I love coming here when it's a little cold outside for the chicken soup it's so yummy and warming. The coffee is always incredible and I love that they serve fresh orange juice. The pastry selection is large so come with an appetite.

Another hit by Chef Angelo. What a gem this is in Fort Lauderdale. Cute Italian coffee shop and bakery on Oakland Patk Boulevard. We stopped by for lunch and loved it. There is counter service and I door and outdoor seating. Efficient sevice. We had the porchetta and caprese sandwich and some pastries. So yummy! Their bread and baked goods are high quality and delicious. This is a must if you are a fan of Italian sandwiches and baked good.

I was looking for a place to have lunch where I could also get some work done. Angelo Elia was perfect! I ordered a warm croissant with turkey and brie along with potato chips and a cafe macchiato (coffee with a shot of espresso and chocolate). They had outdoor seating, electrical outlets and Wi-Fi. Angelo Elia is quaint. The noise level was average. The staff was helpful and the pastries were tantalizing. They also sell imported Italian food products. So I bought 2 bottles of red wine to bring home.

Great little bakery/coffee shop. I usually get a bowl of soup followed by a great piece of pastry. This is an Italian operation and their customer base kinda makes you feel that you are in Italy. They do have a variety of dishes so check it out This is a well run operation with indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoy your lunch

Angelo Elia grew up near Salerno, Italy, learning about food in his mother's kitchen and in the family restaurant. He then moved to New York as a teenager and worked his way up the restaurant industry before moving to Florida 40 years ago with his wife Denise. He is now the owner-operator of Fort Lauderdale-based Angelo Elia Restaurant Group. His culinary group started out with one restaurant in 1998 that expanded to nine specialty Italian eateries by 2016. Today there are restaurants located in Ft. Lauderdale, Weston, Coral Springs, and Delray. In the summer of 2016 Angelo Elia opened the hybrid bakery/ bar in Fort Lauderdale. The menu features pastries, gelato, breads, sandwiches, croissants, paninis, tramezzinis, piadines, Sicilian pan pizza, soup, and salad. The bar offers bottles and glasses of wine. To survive during Covid, the bakery bar added an Italian market selling Italian food items and bottles of wine. I was at a flea market at the church across the street when I spotted Angelo Elia. I had always meant to come in and check it out and this seemed like the perfect time. As you wait in line to order you go past the bakery case filled with mouth watering works of art. I love the savory menu here too. There isn't anything I wouldn't order and everything looked so tempting. I was so close to ordering one of the colorful rainbow croissants but ended up getting turkey and Brie croissant with cranberry and arugula. I also got a cappuccino. You order and pay at the counter and then they bring your food to you. Everything was just perfect. The sweet and salty on the croissant was the perfect pairing while the foam on the cappuccino was nice and thick and it even came with a little cookie. I loved my brunch This was my first visit to the bakery bar but it won't be my last.

What a gem! I have an authentic family Italian dinner and I wanted to bring some Zeppolis and sweets. I completely forgot most great Italian bakeries are closed on Sunday. Not this one! Open 7 days a week from 7am-7pm. So many options for lunch, salads, sweets, bread and gelato! The staff was extra sweet and very helpful! I'll definitely be back again and often!

Excellent Croissants! This morning while running an errand, I passed Angelo Elia Bakery Bar for the 20th time and my curiosity had finally had enough. I called my husband and asked him if he wanted to go with me for some coffee and maybe a pastry. He was as excited as I was to try a new place. When we arrived we noticed that there is limited parking but luckily it wasn't an issue at the time. The woman at the counter was very kind when taking our order and when asked if the prosciutto croissant was any good she said yes. I could tell this was not just a generic yes, so I went for it... I can assure you - It's delicious! :) My husband is a big lover of smoked Salmon, so the second he saw there was a smoked salmon croissant - all the other options were null and void. He allowed me have a bite and it was wonderful! The croissants were flakey, flavorful and very filling. We will be certainly be back for more. As for our coffee, we both ordered cappuccinos which we enjoyed thoroughly. The price for our two sandwiches and coffees came in right at $35. Before we left, I decided to have some of their fresh squeezed orange juice which was just over $6, but very tasty if you are craving fresh juice. We look forward to tasting some of their sweet pastries the next time we stop by.

So I have been looking for a bakery with a good chocolate croissant and I found it! At first, I felt like it was a regular coffee and croissant. The coffee was simple taste and the chocolate croissant felt like just air inside and no chocolate. As I got into a few bites and drank my iced coffee I started to find the flavor! It was amazing! I wanted to go back to get more! This is a corner bakery and it's so nice and clean!
