Since 1981, this Lakewood institution has served bready‑crusted, provolone‑forward pies and playful specialties to generations of West Siders. It’s the neighborhood favorite that still draws citywide pilgrimages, earning Best Pizza honors from Cleveland Scene readers in 2024. Expect waits, big portions, and a lot of Cleveland on the plate.

Best Pizza in Cleveland (2025)
Angelo's Pizza

Google
Tried out this popular pizza spot in Cleveland for the first time and I was seriously impressed. The service was super quick and friendly, and the pizza was awesome. We started with the cheesy garlic bread, loaded with cheese and served with a really good marinara dip. Total win. Don’t skip the wings either, they were legit. You can get your pizza either deep dish or original style, we tried both, and honestly, it’s hard to say which one was better. They were both really good. The place filled up fast during the dinner rush, even though it was a weekday, and now I get why it’s such a popular spot. Pro tip: check out their daily deals on the website for some nice discounts. Will be back soon!

This was a lovely restaurant, relaxing, designed beautifully. They have overhead doors they open so you can eat next to the patio and an outdoor patio area that also has outside heating as I could feel heaters from above going. It's in an adorable neighborhood. The pizza was delicious. Much better than we expected and we'll definitely go back. Service wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't bad. I was displeased that both sets of our silverware were dirty. One had a chunk of food stuck to it and one had something between the prongs of the forks. I'm hoping this was just an unfortunate one off for them.

Google
Never a bad meal at Angelo’s Pizza. Started off with Pizza skins which were excellent. Then spilt a small meat lovers and baked potato pizza with a friend. Both pizzas were phenomenal. So many options to choose from.

This is my second time eating at Angelo’s Pizza in Lakewood and their pizza is ALWAYS fantastic! Brought some friends who haven’t had it before and they really enjoyed the quality! We started with drinks, some potato skins and mozzarella sticks! Both were fantastic! We got the chicken Alfredo pizza, a custom made chicken bacon ranch with garlic ranch sauce, and a classic pepperoni pizza. All were delicious!! Always a treat to stop here for their top-tier pizza, especially in Cleveland! Get there early…it’s always BUSY!!

Google
Great pizza spot! We went for the special pizza of the day - Taco pizza and a classic pepperoni, both thoroughly enjoyed as well as, very delicious Mozzarella Sticks, Zucchini Fries, and Homemade Breadsticks. Always buzzing with activity here and consistently delicious fare! Friendly food service and nice atmosphere in restaurant, lots of activity but still conducive to conversation. Street parking only may require some walking to restaurant.

Shawn is great — super helpful and clearly loves what he does. The pizza here is amazing: the cheese pool is real, the sauce is perfectly sweet, and the garlic butter crust is flavorful and satisfying. Shawn makes the experience even better with his energy and care, making sure every pizza is just right. Definitely some of the best pizza in Cleveland.

Google
Angelos is a staple in Lakewood, Ohio & they're known for having the best pizzas around. We decided to try the Cheeseburger Pizza which was the pizza pie of the month. Ketchup/Mayo based sauce was delicious & unique, which helps it taste just like a cheeseburger, only minus the bun 😋 The crust is light and flaky, almost melts in your mouth. Serving the veggies and toppings on the side is great if your party has picky eaters. If you are a gourmet pizza lover, you definitely need to try Angelos, which has rotating pizzas, not exclusive to the menu, every month. If you're wondering where to grab a pizza any time of day, make sure you check out Angelos in Lakewood & tell them DIESEL AND MO sent you! ✌️💫🤙 Can't wait to see what pizza you guys roll out next month! @DIESELANDMO

Google
A staple in the Cleveland area. Ask for the deep dish if you have never had it before. I prefer to have the pizza cooked "well done". They also offer a thin (thinner) crust option, which is great. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend. The banana pudding is great for dessert.

Matt A.

Yelp
Best pizza on the planet. Yes, it is the best pizza. Most especially their deep dish. If I happen to even be as much as 30 minutes away I make the detour to get one since I'm nearly never nearby.

Yelp
October pizza night was at Angelo's. We did not have reservations but when we got there we were told we would have to wait despite there being open tables. We headed to a local bar and waited until we were called. Our waitress was nice and gave us good service. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and a meatball sub. $18. Super good price point. Least expensive of any of the places we have been thus far for monthly pizza night. It was also the most hearty and largest of the pizzas. We were able to take half the pizza home. Now the pizza: not a super thin crust (I like it this way) tasty crust and crunchy undercarriage; plenty of sauce and cheese and totally enough pepperoni which were curled at the edges (my favorite!). Surprisingly, the sub stole the show! I know this is a pizza review but that meatball sub was delicious! We were so full there was no dessert to be had. I think they may use a cheese other than mozzarella which I really liked but people who only like mozzarella should be aware.

Yelp
I've only done pick up so far, three or four times. Good pizza, though sometimes inordinately greasy--we stick to the simple non-deep dish style for this reason. Def a reason this place is popular--I like that the sauce isn't sweet, and although they have higher quality ingredients, it isn't crazy pricey. Pickup service is always efficient and pleasant. Parking stinks, but what are you going to do. Would I call this pizza life changing? No. But I do crave it, which I def can't say about everywhere.

Yelp
They have the BEST pizza in Cleveland! If the wait is too long sit at the bar you can still eat from there

Yelp
Angelos is hands down our favorite pizza. We generally don't have pizza anywhere else. This is the first time we have dined in and there wasn't a line. It was still busy for lunch. We were seated immediately and our server was at the table within a minute. I think the crust is the best. My son swears it is the sauce. Whatever it is. They have figured it out. Angelo's is a pizza parlor with a nice bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. Take out is just a good as dining in. It is worth the trip.
google avatar

Eileen O.

Yelp
Although the wait was long, it was totally worth it! Wish our server gave us a little more attention, but I know she was busy. I didn't end up getting my pop or beer until half way through dinner and she walked around multiple times checking the tables around us. For 2 people, we ordered the large deep dish, deluxe pizza, and it was everything that I have wanted. Although we are not in Chicago, Angelo's offers an amazing deep dish with a buttery crust loaded with lots of sauce and toppings. We also ordered the 5 meatballs with bread since we were starving. Angelo's still stands as one of my most favorite pizza spots in Cleveland!

Christopher R.

Yelp
Very tasty deep dish pizza. The service was excellent as well. This is my go to Pizza joint.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza places in the Cleveland area. Good reasonably priced drinks and food. Attentive service that always delivers and a nice seating area! Pan pizza is thick but not too heavy with a buttery crust, also love their house made ranch. Excited to head back! A++

Yelp
Angelos delivers on every level if you're looking for a local gem with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, there's a warm, friendly vibe that sets the stage for a great meal, and you can tell that all the locals love it, as it's usually busy! Pizzas come in 3 sizes, small, large, and xl. Small is basically a personal pizza, large is good for a couple to share, and xl feeds 3 hungry adults. The crust is fantastic--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the right foundation for their long list of topping options that cater to all tastes. They also have an impressive lineup of specials that makes it hard to choose, but I recommend trying their house special as it is a fan favorite. The bosco sticks were another highlight, perfectly cheesy and baked just right. Plus, despite a busy evening, we were seated faster than expected. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for quality pizza with a local feel!

Yelp
I hadn't been to Angelo's in years, and I was happy to find it's still just as delicious as I remembered! One thing I love is that they offer beef pepperoni & it crisps up so much better than the traditional pork. Our server was quick and kind, which I really appreciated. I also loved sitting at the high tops next to the main dining area--it's a great spot, especially for summer vibes. I'll definitely be back more often!
google avatar

Dianne M.

Yelp
Very fun lunch on St. Patrick's day! The crew had Irish hair bands and necklaces on and the customers were right with them! Cozy, traditional pizza place with great food and helpful servers. I had a small pizza with mushrooms and onion and my friend had a small pizza Deluxe. Both were very tasty and attractive. We grew up in Lakewood so this was a trip down memory lane.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Great Pizza! Long wait times, but worth the wait. I recommend giving this place a try if you are ever in the Lakewood area
google avatar

Rita O.

Yelp
I love their deep-dish style pizza. On Mondays it may take a bit of a wait as the buy one get one deal is on. Well, worth the wait, snag a seat at the bar and have a cold one while you wait. Classic pizza style restaurant. If I can hear my dinner companions without straining I am happy, here you can do that. Staff is always friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
A Cleveland classic, Angelo's pizza is consistently good. I never realized they offered deep dish pizza until this visit. I guess I never paid attention. We got the small deluxe supreme pizza with traditional crust and 5 buffalo wings. While Angelo's is known for then pizza, the wings were really the star of this meal. They were plump, breaded and fried. The buffalo sauce was great and although runny, their ranch was delicious (I love runny ranch). The small pizza and 6 wings were definitely enough for us to sare, we weren't ridiculously hungry. I stopped in on a Tuesday night, after an event at about 9:00 pm. There weren't many tables in the restaurant. The service was a little lackluster as my friend and I noticed that the waitress took a while to greet us and take our order. This wouldn't have been a big deal had we not seen her stop by the table across from us, grab their order and drinks and then come to our table. The only problem is that they came in about 10 minutes after us. The waitress and the patrons seemed to spark conversation easily, so it seemed like maybe they were regulars of hers. Nevertheless, it didn't feel good to be ignored in favor of another table.
google avatar

Jsmn C.

Yelp
This was such a horrible dining experience. I can excuse mistakes when you're busy but our server/bartender was so busy taking shots with regulars that she completely messed our order up. She forgot to ring in our meatballs and we had to ask multiple times about them. I had modifications to my pizza that I had to clarify multiple times and it still came out wrong. After having to get our order corrected, she stopped acknowledging us and the other bartender had to help us. Our original bartender didn't even apologize which I felt was horrible customer service. Again, i can understand being busy especially on Monday (1/2 off dine in pizzas) but you shouldnt be drinking at the bar in front of your guests if you can't get orders right. Job first, fun later. Otherwise, our food was amazing but im not sure if im in a rush to return connect with me on IG: @tableforjsmn
google avatar

Trista W.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance are awesome. Frequent here when we are in Lakewood! Love Monday for 1/2 off the pizza.
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Amazing pies. Very reasonable prices, don't forget to ask for the coupons on the website. The seafood pie is surprisingly good. They also offer delivery to nearby places like Fairview Hospital.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
Pricey, but fantastic food. I always order the beer battered onion rings with chipotle mayo when I'm visiting my bestie in Ohio. I love their pan crust and all the topping choices. A trip to Angelo's will never be cheap, but it's a trendy part of town with lots of people looking to eat. The interior gives a cozy vibe with lots of booths and seating available. It's usually packed on the weekends so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. The onion rings run about $12.99 if I'm remembering correctly, and a personal pizza runs about $15-$17 minus toppings. A side of ranch is a whopping $1, which is a little steep. Again, your wallet will hurt a little bit, but the quality is there. The beer battered onion rings are the best I've ever had, so I'll keep forking over my money for them anytime I'm in town.
google avatar

Liv S.

Yelp
We went around 9pm on a saturday night, the wait was about 10-15 minutes. I like the booth seating inside and the patio outdoors, we sat inside. Just a personal preference -- they turned off a Ne-yo song to play country music and that's FINE i don't mind country music but to stop a song in the middle of it playing :/ vibe killer it did feel like we were an inconvenience in a way, the service was fast and thorough but didn't feel like a personal experience. The food was good! We got a large philly cheesesteak pizza, which did not taste like philly cheesesteak (in a good way, i didn't want it to). the crust on the edges was very crispy, the crust on the bottom was soggy towards the center. Food came out hot, the cheese pull on the garlic bread was nice, the cheese pull on the pizza was non existent. The garlic bread was very yummy and what you would want from garlic bread. The cocktails were strong. All in all, decent experience. No gripes. It was yummy. I'll go again, but i'm not *raving* over anything yet.
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Angelo's pizza, it's really so good, we have never had a bad pizza from Angelo's. They have lots of other food choices, salads, pastas, amazing appetizers and drinks. Angelos is popular for a reason! Give them a try, you'll love it.

Therese U.

Yelp
The wait was worth the service and food. Love the atmosphere. The hostesses were honest and kind, and our salads were fresh. The margaritas were a low alcoholic mix, but we were driving, so it probably better.
google avatar

Brandi G.

Yelp
I am a fan! Loved their pizza, but the last couple times i went it seemed their soda machine or just drinks in general were not up to par. From the fountain drinks to the alcoholic drinks, they were all bad! But this is definitely a favorite pizza spot for me

Kim R.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza I've ever had! Drove from North Carolina and West Virginia just to get a pizza and some wings! Of course there was a little wait to get a table but it is worth it! Hostess was polite , wait staff was top notch, bathrooms clean, food was hot and fantastic! I always brag about Angelo's pizza in Lakewood Ohio! Keep up the great work! See ya next time!!!

Fred D.

Yelp
Wow! We love Angelo's and my wife and I have been coming for years. Pizza is amazing and love watching the games at the bar. Great service. Only flaw is their tolerance of dogs in the restaurant. A 2lb yorkie "service dog" was allowed to be in the restaurant, shaking everywhere, slobbering everywhere. Really inappropriate and quite frankly, gross, look for a restaurant.

Douglas B.

Yelp
Went here while in Cleveland on a recommendation. We had side Caesar Salads and they were delicious and very big. The pizza could have been hotter. The dough was excellent. I would have liked the sausage to of had a little more flavor. Overall not bad but I have had better. The handicap parking is not good if you use a van with a ramp. The side aisle is very narrow. There is only one handicap parking space. Most of the lot is for pick up orders. We had great service!
google avatar

Abeer H.

Yelp
My first time here. What a lively spot. We had the supreme pizza and loaded potatoes. Both were delicious. Seriously hit the spot.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Stayed in an Air bnb around the corner from Angelos. Ordered a few items to go and everything was great. Especially loved the spinach & artichoke dip. Very creamy. Spaghetti and meatballs had a really flavorful tomato sauce with tasty meatballs. Will definitely be back
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
My daughter moved to Lakewood about a year ago. Upon a quick walk around town I identified this place as one I wanted to try. A couple of times we tried, but it was always an hour wait. So finally a year later, we happened to be in town on a Monday morning and decided to have an early 11am lunch. Got right in. It's a cozy, neat place. Has a nice vibe to it. Service was quick and prompt. Didn't get my usual pictures of the food because as soon as it came out it was devoured. The cheesy garlic bread was amazing. The pizza was good. Not the best I've had, nor was it the worst. I'd eat it again. Hope to eat here again sometime. Check it out if you're in town and then head over to Lakewood park.
google avatar

Scott C.

Yelp
We went to Angelo's Pizza in Lakewood for some good pizza and was not disappointed. Being from Tennessee where we don't have good pizza anywhere. Angelo's Pizza was very good and full of flavor. Loved the sauce and cheese along with the ambiance and the old town feel that this place offers. Service was very good and the atmosphere as well. Handicap parking was available at the back entrance for my mom to get to the restaurant. The only bad thing was I think the music was still set for the late-night cleanup crew. As we were leaving someone did turn down the volume of the music. I would go back to Angelo's in a heartbeat! Loved it!
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Love this pizza place! Great Italian style restaurant with delicious pizza options to choose from. If you want to have a great meal this is definitely the place to go. And make sure you go with time or have a reservation because it does get packed and waiting is the norm in this place! Their menu is so extensive with a lot of options from pastas, pizzas, breads and so on. Love it!
google avatar

Vivian H.

Yelp
Amazing does not even begin to describe the food and vibes here. I absolutely loved the family run restaurant style and its history and family ties are very evident the moment that you walk in. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the pizza, as I'm typically more of a thin crust gal, but the intense flavor and unique combinations won me over. A bit unconventional, but I actually thought the wings were the deal breaker for me. These were by far the BEST wings I have ever had. Service was impeccable and we received amazing drinks recommendations! Overall, highly recommend you check this place out!!
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
Stopped in late night for a snack and ordered a Hawaiian pizza. It arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. We loved the thickness of the crust and the flavor of the sauce. We sat at the bar during our visit and also enjoyed the large menu of beers on tap.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Angelo's never fails! It's always da bomb. The food, music, and customer service Is great too! Best day to come is on Mondays for 1/2 off pizza! It might be a little bit of a wait, but pretty much damn worth it! Lol
google avatar

Edward B.

Yelp
Nice friendly place. Amazing pizza. Well worth the wait to be seated. Be sure to get the deep dish, it's what they are famous for.
google avatar

Nicholas P.

Yelp
If you haven't heard, Monday's at Angelo's is the place to be! Any pizza is 50% off. You have to be willing to wait because they're quite busy on these evenings, but it is SO worth it. The servers are always very hard working and kind. My friends and I come here every Monday and we always sit outside which really adds to the meal. Deep dish of any pie has such a stellar crunch to it. Typically I'm not a margarita pizza fan, but Angelo's mastered a classic!
google avatar

Rich S.

Yelp
Still the best pizza on the Westside of CLE. Never disappoints! Our server was spot on tonight! The pizza was fantastic. Always a treat to go here!
google avatar

Mallory S.

Yelp
Angelo's truly has the best pizza in all of Cleveland and that's saying something!! I'm not exaggerating when I say that their deep dish mashed potato pizza was the best meal I've had all year. Angelo's has a cult-like status among Clevelanders, particularly those who live on the west side. It has been around forever and you can tell it's old and established by how well-worn and well-loved the restaurant is. The staff are attentive and efficient and our server was quick to refill our sodas and keep us updated on the status of our pizza. My friend and I shared an appetizer of breadsticks. The breadsticks had a slight Pillsbury flavor to them and came with garlic and marinara sauce. I think it was worth the $6 price. Then we shared a large specialty mashed potato pizza, half with and half without bacon. This massive pizza was about $30. My God, the pizza was fantastic! The ingredients were REAL and generously applied, the cheese had a fantastic pull, and the crust was buttery and worth every bit of the artery clogging. I ate half for dinner and the other half for lunch the next day. I wish I lived closer to Angelo's because I would come here all the time!
google avatar

Aileen B.

Yelp
The hostess was really great- we were a party of six on a busy Friday night, and she told us that she would take care of us and she did! And then the gastrotomy adventure began! We tried the baked potato pizza and the house pizza. Everyone commented on how yummy the crust was! One of our friends had a deep dish pizza. The consensus from the whole group was that we would all come back! From the crust to the sauce to the amount of toppings, everything got rave reviews! So, the hype is real! Go to Angelo's! I know I will!
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
I ordered a takeout pizza from Angelo's and I think it's pretty solid! I'm just moving up from Columbus, so honestly, am excited by every place that doesn't serve Columbus style (little squares and cracker-like crust). I really liked the crust here, and they nailed the sauce to crust ratio. But honestly? I'm here for the 9 inch, which I was really excited about as an option for solo diners and those who may not be the most reliable about leftovers (me, I'm talking about me). Perfect size for dinner. And.... they offered extra toppings for salads. So for an extra 50 cents, I got a handful of baby carrots on my salad, which I may be overly excited about, but baby carrots and ranch were a perfect side. I also appreciated their pickup parking area, because it was hard to find parking.
google avatar

Naesha G.

Yelp
Great pizza ! Even better service our server was quick and efficient such a lovely young lady . The music and atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday night dinner with the family . The food came out quickly and made to perfection! If you're looking for a great experience this is the place to go !
google avatar

Quiana P.

Yelp
Love love love this place!!!!!!! As a non pork eater it means soooooooo much to me to be able to enjoy beef pepperoni!!!!! They have it and it's amazing!!!
google avatar

Catie T.

Yelp
I love Angelos but the greed is insane. 20$ for a 9 inch pizza is absolutely ridiculous lol. Plenty of other great pizza around that aren't price gouging.
google avatar

Juan R.

Yelp
You can never go wrong when visiting this place. Amazing food! Be aware, gets very busy and full. I suggest plan ahead to wait 40+ minutes especially in the evenings and weekends.

Naomi F.

Yelp
Love their food. But tried to check in on the yelp and they had excuses that it didn't work.

Iva H.

Yelp
Love Angelo's I come from Westlake just to have Angelo's pizza. Mondays is 50% off. Gotta love that.
google avatar

Robett G.

Yelp
Good and service were great. I've been here many times in the past and always feel they have the best wings in Cleveland. Their pizza is top notch as well. Completely recommend you trying this place out.

Linda G.

Yelp
Hands down, great pizza, but not worth an hour and 45 minute wait. There are a lot of great pizza shops, so I will not be going back. So sad....
google avatar

JQ B.

Yelp
Here from Houston to watch Astros play the Guardians. This place was amazing and Bailey was great too!
