Angelo's Pizzeria & Family Old Town Maine

Absolutely love this place. You get the same amazing service even if you look like a scrub or a king. My hubby and I come here and he is a mechanic and can come right from work with grease everywhere and they're welcoming. The greet you with a smile and even ask about your family. The food is absolutely amazing. I'm a little bit of a food snob when it comes to pasta dishes because nothing compares to my Grandfathers but here I have loved everything I've had and I love to try different stuff each time. 100% recomend

The pizza I ordered was honestly delicious but the reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because I ordered GLUTEN FREE crust & my order was definitely not gluten free! I broke out in a rash all over my body. My allergy isn’t severe enough that I have a reaction from cross contamination, when I order gluten free options from a restaurant I am always fine, so it wasn’t cross contamination. I also practice intermittent fasting & so this limits the possibility that I had a reaction from another type of food. If I had a severe allergy or celiac disease, I would have been very upset. I will definitely give them another chance because my pizza was so good, however I hope management sees this & reminds staff to be more mindful when customers order gluten free crust.

*****UPDATE: I reached out to the owner shortly after making this review. This morning, she tried to bribe me with $10 off my next order if I took this review down!!!***** My boyfriend and I frequently order from here. We typically get a large big mac pizza. Every other time besides now has been decent. The food is nice, it’s typically cooked well, and the workers behind the counter are nice. However, about an hour ago, we placed an order for, you guessed it, a large Big Mac pizza, and it was QUITE undercooked. I have worked at numerous pizza places myself, and I know how a pizza should be cooked. Some of the hamburg was pink, the dough was pretty gummy (meaning it’s not cooked), and a lot of the cheese in the middle wasn’t melted. Like I said, I work in food service myself, so getting extremely angry at the folks who also work in food service doesn’t accomplish much in most situations. I called nicely and they offered to give me credit or remake the pizza, but to be quite honest I don’t want to eat here any time soon. I would much rather have preferred my money back, but they wouldn’t give it back. To be blunt, I’m not impressed. Like I said, I won’t be eating in here any time soon (more likely ever again).

My complaint is I order a calzone, asked specifically if it was a calzone but got a pizza. Ate it anyway but a pizza in slices, not a canzone that's folded made me as if they even know how to make a calzone? I was told yes so hopefully next time I get a calzone. The pizza did taste good.

Angelo's Family Pizzaria is just that! With freshly made food & even Baklava made from scratch, the atmosphere is clean & well lit. Even though my favorite part is the fresh food, the service has been nothing but inviting, encouraging & actually enjoyable. If you want a family restaurant, not crowded - I highly recommend Angelo's any day! (Other than Sunday for now !)

In town visiting family and they said Angelos make a great pie so i just got a lrg pep and gp pie and they were right. All aspects of it were on point. And cooked perfectly. The place inside looked really taken care of, too. This was a diff pizza shop when I was a few decades ago and it looks nicer and cleaner than it was back then. I'll get a calzone next visit.

I ordered 2 pizzas. The hamburger and mushroom was good. The Margherita was half raw. When l said something they said too bad,nothing you can do deal with it. Rude.won't order for again. Recommend the same for others. Riverside is much better and around same price .

This is hands down the best spot I've ever eaten at! I've never had pizza, pasta, or calzones that are as good as what they serve here. The food is always fresh and packed with flavor. The owner is super friendly, always joking around with customers, which makes the whole experience even better. You’ve got to try the cheese and steak calzone it’s my my fave! And if you see the baklava, grab it fast because it disappears quickly. This place is such a gem!

Everything could change they're not the Pizza place they used to be. I just got a steak sandwich from them with cheese and mushroom. I couldn't taste the mushroom or the cheese and the steak had so much grit in it. It was nasty so goodbye Angela.

Great food, especially their lasagna and chicken alfredo. That being said none of their food has ever disappointed and the owners are eager to great every customer.

Far and away my favorite restaurant in Old Town. Maybe the whole area/ nice people, thoroughly dedicated to providing the best food. Without charging for all the five star extras. Nice sit down or take out place. Family friendly. Drinks available.

I'm a bit perplexed by some of the other reviews, most seem to be from 7+ years ago, so I assume this is where most of the outdated bad reviews are from. I go here weekly for lunch, I usually get the steak and cheese meal, but whenever there is a special, I go with it. The owner is Greek, and she makes the BEST food, when she makes a special, go with it! Moreover, I've tried all of the pizza in Old Town//Orono/Bangor... I simply don't understand how anyone would rate the pizza here anything less than top 3 options.

The food at Angelo's has gone downhill considerably here. From now on I'll be going to riverside restaurant. prices are comparable and the food is much better!!

After waiting almost an hour I got a notification that they canceled my pickup order. Not very impressed. After my order was canceled they will not answer their phone.

We ordered for my birthday dinner & was totally disappointed. The Mac & cheese looked nothing like the picture, it's supposed to of had a white cheese sauce & bacon crumbles. What I got was orange colored & smelled & tasted awful. It tasted and looked like someone dumped shredded cheese on cooked noodles...there wasn't much sauce about it. And the bacon was pre cooked microwave bacon, definitely not cooked bacon and was slimy and greasy, but I guess that was the highlight of the dish because it didn't have any other flavor going for it. The manager/owner wasn't much help & insisted it was made correctly, but again, not what is pictured & he kept saying the bacon was cut thin & cooked with the macaroni in the pizza oven. Which is great, wonderful, whatever....but it still had the consistency of pre cooked bacon. All that was offered was a new tray of Mac and cheese. No thanks, one was plenty bad enough. Definitely not worth $50 for this meal, I won't be wasting my money on it again. I attached pictures to show what I got vs what they picture. ​

If I could give zero stars I would! Worst pizza I've ever had. If you want frozen reheated pizza that's been sitting under a heat lamp for 12 hours you might like it. Guy working the counter was rude as well! Don't eat this pizza. Buy frozen at the supermarket. It will be better!!

Always get the steak and cheese or the chicken Parmesan on Wednesday, the deal is so good!

owner is an asshole, if something isnt right he will tell you he dosnt want to bother with you, if you get the wrong food they will take forever to get it and TAKE THE WRONG FOOD BACK, if they dont look when they get the order they blame the service they use , the service confirms its the shops fault, if i could give a review it would be -10/10 stars, but i have to give it one, you will never get my money or the money of the people ive told about this, keep it up, hope you fail, assholes, also i made an account to tell people how shit you are EDIT: These assholes made my mother cry

The shittiest pizza around!!! And the owner is a complete dickhead this is supposed to be a light cheese green pepper/pepperoni and after we got it and called and tth he said too bad that's how we do it... There's no sauce double cheese and the green pepper are crispy black... And we picked it up and tipped them but screw this NEVER again I'd rather suck on a exhaust pipe then eat this I can't even give it away!

This is probably the best pizza place in town, there hamburger and pepperoni pizza always feeds a craving, I can't say anything bad about it.

I've been coming here for almost 18 years; friends in college worked here and I was MUCH fatter and really appreciated "the #1". (a large steak bomb with fries and a fountain soda) As you can imagine, over the past decade, the restaurant has changed hands and they have since removed the soda fountain, changed the vendor for their fries, and added A/C. It is your typical "Greek Pizza" establishment; nothing fancy and nothing special. The "#1" still holds but the fries do not help. There are definitely better pizza options in Old Town/ Orono and if I were in the mood for a sandwich, I'd be much more inclined to try another location.

Great food if you can wait long enough. Placed an internet order and it said the food would be ready at 6:09. It is now 6:43 as I write this review after finally getting my food. Eaited for half an hour in the restaurant. They don't even start until they see you. Horrible experience. They don't want my business and they apparently don't need yours.

Never in my life have I known a place to not let someone other then employee pick up a paycheck with written permission and easy enough to make phone call to double check. My boyfriend works for them as a second job his other job far more important he works out of town so he's not around to get it and cash it before banks close. So today 4-27-18 I went into Angelo's with written permission to pick up his check, said nicely that I was their to pick up so An so's paycheck I was instantly given attitude about it from the owners saying no he needs to come get it himself. Female owner says do you work here? No I say she shakes her head says nope he can come get it himself as she turns he back walking away from me throwing her hands up like I'm a big inconvenience to them! We have kids to feed, family to support too! I was treated with absolute disrespect I'm discussed if that's how they treat employees family they clearly don't give to much care in customers! I will never spend a dollar to these people an help them be higher on the food chain An think they're better then others! We may not be rich but we work for our money we don't live off the state an it's made a big hassle to pick up a paycheck to support our family! !!!!Discussed!!!! I will do my very best that non on my friends nor family members spend a dime here at the Oldtown Angelo's! GO TO BANGOR!

Most unfortunate and quite disappointing is how this establishment, more specifically, Andreas, treats their employees! Am employee was not paid for services rendered. This is a kid putting themselves through college, who spent about 10 hours working, and was refused payment! Shame on them!

This is the worst restaurant in the old town area IMHO. I tried it when we moved here because the Bangor Angelos is the best thing that ever happened to my tastebuds. I have ordered pizza, salads, and wings three times (I gave it a fair chance) and each time the pizza is consistently soggy, the salads taste off, and are NOTHING like the Caesar salad you get in Bangor. The chicken is flat and bland, the house dressing is some congealed white mass that I've never subjected my tongue to, and it's mostly just lettuce. The wings also were soggy and the hot sauce was thin and didn't have a great flavor other than the obvious spiciness. I would highly recommend that NOBODY ever get food from this restaurant. Make the trip to Bangor. You will thank yourself for it.

Always reliable for a great meal. The bread they use for their sandwiches is top notch and their French fries, don't even get me started. Pizza is pretty good too

Pizza in the Bangor area can be a dicey proposition. There are a lot of truly terrible places kept open only because of clueless local loyalists. However Angelo's is not one of those places. The pizza is a great combination of quality cheese, sauce and crust. Not too greasy and cooked perfectly. This place has a ton of daily specials and solid prices. The large pies are not huge but a good size for two people to share.

I have not tried the pizza here, but this is a review of the chicken strips and jalapeno poppers. A close friend of mine RAVED about Angelo's chicken strips and jalapeno poppers, so I made a trip for those items specifically. Unbeknownst to him, the chicken strips have changed. Meaty--but heavily breaded and dry--these strips make KFC seem like a three star Michelin-rated restaurant. The fries that came with the meal were soggy and inedible. The coup de grâce, however, were the jalapeno poppers. In a word, disgusting. Obviously frozen and improperly stored with the taste of freezer-burn permeated throughout, the cheddar cheese filling was still very cold, congealed, and undercooked. To top it off, the grumpy cat owner charged me an additional $.50 for ranch dipping sauce when I asked. Really?!? This does not come complimentary with the poppers, especially considering your ridiculous prices for crap food?!? You're dead to me, Angelo's. ***Update*** My dad and I ate here for lunch after a stop at Aubuchon hardware next door. The food was much improved from my last visit and reasonably priced. I had the pepperoni pizza--which was greasy but decent--and my dad had the turkey club, which was fresh and delicious. So, a two star bump up for Angelo's.

Definitely not as good as the Bangor location. The salads were edible but bland. The "Czar" dressing was gelatinous and oily. The folks in Bangor should gone and train the Old Town folks so there is some consistency.

Terrible customer service over a misunderstanding, completely spoke over me even though I was very polite. The owner hung up on me and lost a regular customer. We had ordered twice from them this week and never will again. If you have an issue the owner disagrees with don't expect a resolution or compromise.

I've had the food twice, once my son and I ate inside and split a small extra-cheese pizza. It was a glorious melty, gooey mess, exactly what you want when ordering an extra cheese pizza. Never have he and I had leftovers from a SMALL pizza until then. The flavor was good, the sauce was not too sweet. The crust stayed crisp. My husband and I ordered delivery last night, it was timely. We shared a lamb gyro which was good, had great flavor and the meat was tender. We split a chicken bomb, it comes with salami which I was worried about but was actually the star of the sandwich. The chicken however tasted as though it was boiled and we both found hard tendon like pieces we had to spit out. We also got fries and they were like steak cut potatoes that were breaded and fried. These greasy, crispy tenders are worth going back for. Stick to fries and pizza.

We have ordered from here a couple times and they seem to continue to go downhill took almost 2 hours for them to deliver 15 minutes up the street! The fries were soggy & barely cooked we also ordered a chicken finger sub & steak & cheese which were soggy & untoasted ( we made it clear we wanted them toasted) the chicken finger sub had barely any chicken and both subs were only half filled (mainly with lettuce) done giving them chances definitely NOT worth the money

Have ordered from Angelo's in the past without an issue and have been satisfied with the food. Today my order took an hour to be delivered and arrived cold as well as missing a portion of my order. Took almost 45 minutes for them to redeliver the missing part of my food which was a chicken finger plate. I received 2 chicken fingers, not sure what is standard but expected more then two tenders in a basket/plate meal. I love there food and is great for the price but probably won't order delivery again.

About a week ago I ordered 2 cheese pizzas and it took over an hour to get to us. I didn't really keep track after the hour. When it got to us it wasn't hot and was so soggy we threw out half a pizza. Today I ordered a chicken parm dinner for my daughter and I for delivery and it took 1 hour and 34 minutes to get to us. It was dry and there were hard pieces of spaghetti in it as if reheated. When we called to make it know to the manager, he was VERY rude to me. I told him it took an hour and a half and he said "It did NOT take that long so what is really wrong with the pizza?" I tried to explain to him it was not pizza and what was wrong with the order and I did not get through my sentence before he interrupted me saying "There is no way it took that long!" I told him "Well it did I know when I called to make the order, to make sure he didn't get lost after an hour, and when he arrived." When I informed him that I would not be ordering from them again because of the experience not only with the deliveries, but also with the managers attitude he said to me "O.K. have a great day." We have been customers there for 7 years and we got treated very poorly. We will not be returning to Angelos Pizzeria ever again.

Just very disappointed with the service at this Pizzeria first off its name tells you it is a family restaurant, yet with the manager (male) yelling and talking down to the female employees to the point of belittling that isn't a family sitting I care to bring my children around. The actions of the male manager were to say the least enough to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Bringing you to the food that was not as it was portrayed to be and there was nothing special about the pizza that was order. The bathrooms were unclean and shocking that they call themselves family oriented; I also saw no washing of the hands or safety and sanitization precautions. I was appalled at overhearing staff members discussing the fact that they are using their bare arms to stir their pizza sauce again I didn't see any washing of the hands and not to mention the arm hair. Very disappointed at how far some owner and managers fall from maintaining healthy eating for the money they charge.

takes too long and orders are wrong when delivered missing soda with the specials / drivers take too long / pizza was 2 hours late and was cold when I called was told the driver was new and they could not help this so we will not be ordering from them any longer / we ordered quite regularly and was very disappointed with the service
