What a hidden gem!! Amazing, this made me feel like what it would be like to eat at a grandma's house in Italy. I've never been, but this is what I think it would be like. The recipes and food are basic, fresh ingredients, some herbs, but not too much to overpower the fresh taste. Simply amazing and rustic. The dining area is old and outdated but didn't bother me one bit. I had the lasagna, chefs kiss! We had to drive 15 minutes to get here, I would drive an hour if I had to. There really are not any appetizer options, you don't need them, they concentrate on the main food, and it's well worth it. The price is under what the quality is worth!! Go now!!

Discovered this place way back in early to mid 80's when I worked nearby. Fell in love with the baked lasagna! I just drove 20 miles round trip for some lasagna and a pepperoni/sausage pizza. Everything was still hot when I got home. Prices are amazing too.

Absolutely love this place! Family friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, wonderful environment, and some of the most amazing food you’ve ever put in your mouth! If you’re looking for some of the most authentic, non-chain Italian cuisine, you HAVE to stop at this place! It’s a must have on the Texas food scene “bucket list”! A wonderful, long-standing, hidden gem in the middle of the DFW metroplex in Irving!

Angelo’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a time machine, a warm hug, and a slice of pure nostalgia all rolled into one. My 80-year-old parents used to steal kisses over their pizzas here during their high school date nights, and walking into Angelo’s today feels like stepping into those cherished memories. The pizza? Oh, it’s unrivaled. That crust—crisp, golden, with a unique flavor that dances on your taste buds—has me craving it like it’s my life’s mission to eat more. The toppings are a perfect blend of classic and high-quality, like they’ve bottled love and sprinkled it on every slice. The staff, many of whom have been there for 20 years, treat you like family, and you can feel the love in the air the moment you walk in. It’s like stepping into your grandparents’ house—warm, welcoming, and brimming with comfort. You know you’re home at Angelo’s. If Cheers had been set in a restaurant instead of a bar, Angelo’s would be the star, where everybody knows your name and every bite feels like a memory worth savoring. Here’s to Angelo’s, a place that’s been serving love and pizza for generations.

In business since 1966. Not the cleanest place, but it's been a staple in our family for decades. Angelo's has its own unique flavors and are consistent every time we go. They also have great pizza!

Google
The food is always so good here and great value for the price. Is the restaurant a bit "dated" in decor, yes! But most Mom and Pop places are, as the money goes back into the business and employees. I do NOT rate a restaurant on how up to date the decor is, I'm going for the food and service.

Google
Charla @ Angelo’s is amazing. We initially planned a large family group (of maybe 10ish) but ended up cancelling due to bad behavior of some family. As we were getting in our car to leave (we just buried our mother) to head home I got a text from one of her friends that “everyone” was going to Angelo’s. Shock is what I felt. This is such an iconic Italian restaurant in business over 60 years, and when I found out 30 people showed up at once I felt so bad because it’s a quaint family restaurant and everyone showing up with limited staff….. I had already been in touch with Charla (she is THE BEST) and she was beyond accommodating and called in for extra help, and EVERY meal was sent out hot and all at the same time. This staff went way above and beyond to feed people that just left a funeral. And I have received so many compliments on how amazing this staff (and did I mention the amazing food??) I would drive an hour any day to eat here. It’s such a family feel where you’re greeted with a smile and quick service. You have to try the spaghetti casserole and hide your garlic toast because someone will for sure take and eat it. It’s to die for!!!!!! 5 stars!! Can’t say enough wonderful things about such passionate and caring people.

Google
I have been coming to this location since I moved to the Dallas area in 1980. Food is delicious, prices are very reasonable and portions are as well. When I lived near there i used to get the family spaghetti to go and it was plenty for a family. I was sorry to have the Arlington location close because it was my Friday night dinner but whenever I am near Irving or crave their food this is a must stop for me. My favorite is the steak and spaghetti lunch, but their baked lasagna is also the best.

Yelp
Have you ever felt like you walked into a restaurant and stepped into a time warp? That's exactly how I felt when I walked into Angelo's Spaghetti & Pizza House. Now, I want to clarify my comment... because this time warp was a really great thing! The decor was true 80's. The music was also from the 70s/80s. Heck, the people working there might have been working there since the 80s too. It just had a consistent 80s feel. And it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time! My husband and I walked in 15 minutes before the restraint closed, and we were met with a smile from the greeter. No one rushed us, no one complained that we were coming in at the end of their shift. Instead, everyone treated us as if we were the first customers of the day. I enjoyed my meal and tipped the price of the meal because of the outstanding service we received. Now for the food. I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich. Nothing fancy. And yet it was delicious! My chicken was tasty, tender, and cooked perfectly. I honestly enjoyed every bite. And if everything wasn't already amazing in the restaurant (the nostalgic feel, great service, and great food) I noticed their prices were very reasonable. In a day and time when everything feels over priced, a hard working family can walk into Angelo's and afford a great meal. Thank you Angelo's for staying true to who you are - because it works.

Yelp
This is another one of those places that I would've sworn I had reviewed before. I have been coming here for years though in recent years it's been a long time since I have been here. I am happy to report that nothing has changed! Stepping into this place, you realize it's pretty old-school and really has not changed in probably all the years since it has been open, 59 year ago. But my motto is why mess with a great thing! This place checks all the boxes for me. They have it all, great casual ambiance, great service, and great food! Tonight I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. It was prepared to perfection and served atop a bed of delicious spaghetti with an amazing garlic butter sauce. It's the kind of meal that has me already wanting to go back and get again! In an ever-changing world, Thanks Angelo's for being a constant to all of us who have relied on you over the years!

Yelp
The lasagna and the chopsteak are always reliable, but I don't know why they give you brown salad. The cheapest thing that they could make sure is fresh but yet they choose to send people home with brown gross looking salad. Ruins the whole meal. It leaves the customer feeling like they were taken advantage of and did not get what they paid for.

Yelp
Had a great date night here! This place has a dark, cozy vibe , super charming! The staff was very friendly, and the whole place felt like a time warp. It's been around since 1966 and not much has changed, the decor, the menu.. why mess with a good thing? The quiet 80's music in the background added to the vibe. We got a sausage , pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It had a homemade taste, as if I had made it at home. The leftovers were reheated in an air fryer and made the crust perfectly crisp. The sausage was more like ground beef but still good. Also split a lasagna which was extra cheesy. I like its , nothing fancy just solid comfort food. I noticed a steak and spaghetti on the menu u, so that's definitely on my list for next time. Totally worth the drive !

Yelp
Angelo's is a nice, quaint "mom and pop" style restaurant with good prices and generous portion sizes. It's no wonder it's one of my coworkers' all time favorite spots. I enjoyed the baked spaghetti the last time I went and was certainly not disappointed. Service is fast and you can get in and out on a lunch hour.
google avatar

Yelp
First time visit, but guarantee I will be back. I was in the mood for a local mom and pop Italian lunch and Angelo's did not disappoint. It's nice to find an affordable local restaurant. My only regret is not knowing about it sooner. I really wanted pizza but couldn't resist some pasta so I ended up getting both. I got a pizza to go and wow is it good. Really really good. The spaghetti came with a small salad and bread. The serving was enough to fill me up. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Sarah B, my server, did a really great job of making me comfortable and welcomed which is tough to find nowadays. If you haven't been, I recommend going.

Yelp
What do you say about a place that's been here FOREVER!! The service was good since they served a very large party of about 20. It's a BYOB establishment- did not know this, so just for your info. I enjoyed the house salad, lasagna & the bread!

Yelp
Baked spaghetti , baked lasagna, oh and sometimes I have to get the filet mignon with the loaded baked potato . Side salad always is FRESH, ranch delicious!! Always get my favorite servers. Definitely was happy to find this hidden gem when I was working down the street. Now my daughter and I are regulars!!:)
google avatar

Yelp
I went in for take out! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for my elderly father. He used to love to come here. I thought it would be a nice surprise for him with a lunch from here. I walked in and it's not very well lit inside it was actually kinda dark in there. It just looked dirty and the tables looked like they hadn't been wiped down. I didn't get a good feeling about this place! The meal did not look appealing to me and didn't taste very well either! I could tell my dad was a bit disappointed. I won't be coming back here! The prices are very cheap but having said that "You get what you pay for". I will say that the people were nice but that's all I can say about this place! A big let down!!

Dexter J.

Yelp
The service is always friendly and fast. The food is always good. The salad is simple but always fresh. I recommend the lasagna, the red sauce is so flavorful. I also recommend the super six pizza. Top full of ingredients and comes out with a crispy crust. Strangely, this location has the best root beer too. Lots of friendy locals and construction workers can found packing this place at lunch. Don't worry, service is great and food comes out quick.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. I have been coming here for 20+ years whenever I am in town. The quality and portions have remained the same for as long as I can remember

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped here several months ago when our other go to pizza shop was closed, now we come here every other week! The staff is so lovely and attentive. We get the same thing every time- the white pizza- and it never fails at be absolutely delicious. The ambiance is nice and chill, even when it gets a little busier than usual. We loveee this place so much
google avatar

Yelp
I want to start off with saying service was great. We got seated quickly and were helped out with anything we needed. The restaurant was old but looked clean and well decorated. We ordered a pizza and some cheese bread. The marinara sauce they brought to dip the bread in was great. Made me wish I picked pasta instead of the pizza. The pizza was greasy, and the Canadian bacon felt like something I could pick up from the grocery store non-refrigerated section. We ate it but the leftovers definitely went in the trash. We might try it again another day and get pasta instead.

Darryl H.

Yelp
Sad to say Angelo's quality has fallen so far. I grew up in Grand Prairie and have celebrated so many birthdays and special occasions there since the late 60's. Tonight I invited friends, some that drove all the way from Coppell to join us for dinner at our recommendation. Stick to the pizza and stay away from the rest. Spaghetti and meatballs and Chicken parmesan, upgraded with garlic and butter pasta were not edible by myself or my pet. Sad to see a once wonderful childhood memory turned into a disappointment.
google avatar

Elaine H.

Yelp
My family has come to this restaurant for over 45 years. It is a go to for many of our get-togethers and parties that includes a birthday party for my great granddaughter tonight. This was her choice for her birthday family dinner looking very forward to the evening. We don't need a menu because we all know what we like the best. My son loves the pizza. My husband and I had not had it until recently. We usually take several pieces home and just heated up in a skillet on the stove for about 3 to 5 minutes and it is great.

Gus D.

Yelp
Used to live close so when I happen to be in the area, I have to stop by and get Lasagna the best in DFW! Great service and fast.
google avatar

Patty T.

Yelp
The restaurant closes at 8:30 pm don't go at 8:00 we were served undercooked pizza which we took home and finished cooking . You love meat sauce it's on everything no marinara . Da meatballs were ok but the waitress made up for it. She was super cool.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the shrimp Alfredo as advertised. Delicious. Bow tie pasta and shrimp cooked perfectly and the Alfredo was rich and delicious. I enjoyed the fettuccine weeks earlier on a date. I'm glad I came back. I'm trying the pizza next time.

Jan T.

Yelp
We ordered a pizza to go last Friday. When we got there it was ready. Came with Packets of Parm cheese & Red Flakes. Love their pizza. Also on previous visits we've ordered lasagna always a winner. Good service, friendly staff, good food.
google avatar

Wayne R.

Yelp
Not exactly what we expected from this restaurant. We had a few recommendations to come try this restaurant out. We weren't very impressed with the quality of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant, and how the water tasted. The salads were very lackluster. As plain as could be. The manicotti and lasagna was overloaded with ground beef that was too oily. The chicken had freezer burn taste to it or was possibly borderline old. Excessive grease on the pizza. The restaurant needs a deep cleaning to it. The tables were not wiped down well. The oil and vinegar bottles seemed too sticky and unsanitary. The staff all seemed very nice and attentive, but I was hoping for a great meal also. Thank you for the opportunity to try the restaurant out.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, my first time ordering and everything was a hit! Did a 14in pizza which was incredible'! Full of meat and veggies! Spaghetti with meatballs, meat sauce and cheese! Yummy and a side salad with ranch! Salad was packed nice and neat, extremely fresh! Wish I had ordered two side salads!!! A slice of toasted bread came with this as well and plenty of crackers, parmesan cheese packets, Red chili flake packets, and utensils! Everything tastes so good and I have some food left over for a couple of days! This may end up being my fav pizza spot! I'll sure come back to have more of the menu items' cheers!

Yelp
Look, any place that's been around since 1966 gets my respect right off the top. We found Angelo's originally at their former Arlington location. Since then, we've relocated, and the Arlington location closed. The pizza is absolutely awesome. The spaghetti pizza, beyond awesome. The staff here is prompt and treats us like family. The chicken pan was the 2nd-largest I've ever seen in a single serving, which is nice enough, but the chicken is fresh & perfectly cooked. We need more neighborhood joints like this and less chains. Angelo's is a slice of the community!

Pitt P.

Yelp
We've been going to Angelo's for close to 30 years and it's normally where we go if we're going to sit down and eat Italian. Today we ordered igo pizza because we just didn't want to sit in the restaurant. One of the best pizzas we've ever eaten, the pizza guy hit the ball out of the park. What's not to like about this pizza? 3/10/23 update Got in the mood for a pizza but wanted to eat at home. Called Angelo's and picked up this delicious culinary delight. Their pizzas are ALWAYS good but this one was one of best we've ever eaten. Thanks Pizzaman At Angeleo's Not going to let me post new photos.

Yelp
Wow! I can't believe I've never tried this place before. I like pizza, lots of pizza. And this has got to be one of the best ones I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and try it! I got The Works, and I replaced the green peppers with black olives. The prices are good as well.
google avatar

Tamara G.

Yelp
Well I'm not sure why so many positive reviews. We picked this place because of yelp we were in town for a game. We ordered a half meat pizza & half pepperoni & an order of garlic pasta. The sauce on the pizza? No taste what so ever, the pizza had been cooked to long it was brown on top & the pasta? No taste at all, where was the garlic? Our food was just bland. We had leftovers & didn't even take them. The place was very old & dated, but that's not really a deal breaker for us if the food is good. Our server was a very nice lady. Would we come back? No?

Yelp
Real tasty food... real good... gotta be from Chicago or New York, but I seen too much hair in my baked lasagna ... had to throw it away

Yelp
Chicken Parmesan is on point and fresh. The cheese is melting off the face of the chicken breast. Service is excellent and highly recommended. Angelo holding it down in Irving.

Yelp
Irving institution! Anyone who's ever lives in Irving probably ate here fairly regularly. Back in 1980 you could get steak salad spaghetti and a tea for 3$ spaghetti casserole and salad tea for about 2.25$. Prices have changed over the years obviously, but it's exactly the same quality and quantity of day past. If you're looking for upscale or even moderately intimate this isn't for you. It's a hole in the wall. It hasn't changed much in 40 years. Same friendly waitresses. We ordered steak and spaghetti with mushrooms with cheese, a spaghetti casserole with mushrooms and cheese, and lasagna. Everything was point on. Spaghetti sauce was tasty and thick (there maybe a little water at bottom from the water the noodles are cooked in but sauce isn't watery) extra toast because for some reason their toast rocks your socks!! Even the salad that's just plain with tomato is so good because their blue cheese is mild and good. Italian is also very good. Our total bill for 3 with three drinks and an extra steak (3$ upcharge) and the mushrooms was 25$. We were stuffed and no doubt our lunch will tide us over for the rest of tonight. So no cooking tonight! This restaurant could indeed use a major scrubbing from top to bottom (tho bathrooms were clean) and a coat of fresh paint. But you know what. It's fine. It's what it is. It's Angelos. In some ways, as a person who's literally eaten here for 45 years, I don't want it to change!!

Yelp
Friendly staff and great food! Ordered a pizza and pasta to go. Food was quickly prepared and in a timely fashion

Yelp
Had to come back to my home town today and eat at a tried and true establishment that has been open since 1966.. My favorite place to eat in the 1980's when Pioneer street was the local hang out to cruise up and down the street showing off your car and looking for girls.. love the Food and the history!!
google avatar

Grant M.

Yelp
Seems like an unsafe place to eat due to their stance on Covid. Can't imagine that they are taking Covid seriously and if you care about your own safety and the safety of those around you, I'd opt to eat somewhere else.
google avatar

DT B.

Yelp
We've been dining here for 35+ years. I hope this locally owned restaurant stays around for even longer. The lasagna - best in town. Pizza - amazing! My 5 year old loves the steak - great flavor! Ranch dressing is homemade and great. What's not to like about amazing, fresh food! Don't miss it if in the area.
google avatar

Edie C.

Yelp
Servers very nice. Senior spaghetti came cold and was over cooked. The portion was ridiculously small. Asked for it to be microwaved and it came back a bit warmer, but not hot like the baked dishes they have. They have raised prices as well. Disappointing. Also had to pay extra for very flat looking tasteless salad.

Jacob A.

Yelp
Picked up food from here on Mother's Day and it looked so good but let me break this down how bad it was. First there is no flavor any anything I swear a 60 year smoker made this food it was so bland. Second the lasagna was so hard to cut and was definitely not up to par at all (olive garden is better) Third the chicken Alfredo sauce tasted like elmers glue but the chicken was "ok" at best Fourth the pizza was absolutely just the most sad looking pizza I've ever seen little Ceasers is a better deal (wish I was joking) Fifth the salad was fine but that's hard to ruin unless you included heated ranch (not sure what happened here) Lastly garlic bread is toasted I thought but instead we got soggy bread with a hint (very very slight) of garlic which we actually toasted ourselves Overall this food looks and tastes like it came from a run down shack which is fitting for building looks like it. I guess the sign for me should've been an empty parking lot / dining room on Mother's Day Adding an edit after looking at the Facebook page I now see why it turned out like this. Why as a business owner would you willingly post how disgusting your kitchen grill is I can't even imagine how everything else looks someone please call the health department. (Gordon Ramsey added for some slight sense of humor in this otherwise disgusting situation)
google avatar

Ted S.

Yelp
I joined some friends at Angelo's tonight as they really wanted to go there. Be aware, they just went up on their prices. Big time! What used to be $11 is now $15. The service is still just as bad, but now you pay more for it. That is a shame as their prices used to be reasonable. In done with Angelo's.
google avatar

Deidre T.

Yelp
Roaches crawling on the table where you're eating. No thanks. I saw a post on the NextDoor App with four people reporting the same thing. The place is filthy and quality of food has gone done in the last few years. I used to frequent Angelo's, and haven't been since. The waitress didn't offer an apology or comp anything in my ticket. I still paid and tipped, but they won't get my business.
google avatar

Yelp
The best Broiled Chicken dinner it cuts with a fork and so juicy and Baked cooked to perfection

Kiet B.

Yelp
This was a take out order for pizza. We have been patrons of Angelo's for many years. the pizza is always good and this time was no different. I would definitely recommend the pizza.

David N.

Yelp
Always love eating here. Their lasagna is delicious! The blue cheese dressing taste homemade. And a toasted piece of garlic bread.

Tom L.

Yelp
Besides the outdated and much needed renovation that was needed 20 years ago .. From Serving salad on bread plates To having crackers on the table as a garnish it lacks a much needed updated menu ... Stuck in the 60's restaurant Customer service is a hit or miss depending on who you get. The food is far from flavorful It's disappointing- A local owned family restaurant that should have authentic taste with amazing customer service only to walk threw the door and say wow what a dump..
google avatar

Giselle V.

Yelp
They never disappoint!! I love the feel of the restaurant and the people are super friendly. It's been around forever so they know what they're doing. They got the best pasta in Irving . Try it for yourself if you haven't .

Kyle B.

Yelp
I love this place and eat here all the time . Cant lose on any of the meals and we always order chease toast

Jay R.

Yelp
Tried Angelo's for take out lunch the other day. Ordered the Cannelloni Alfredo that came with a salad and garlic toast, also ordered a baled potato. Potato was as expected. Cannelloni was nothing more than some ground meat with no seasoning and a little parsley or spinach flakes sprinkled in, wrapped in a way too thick pasta sheet (might as well have been a tortilla), and covered with a bland alfredo sauce and some parmesan. It was one of the worst Cannelloni dishes I've ever had anywhere. Not gross or anything, just flavorless and wrapped in a gummy pasta. The salad was a cup of lettuce with some dressing on the side. Service was great, there was a line of patrons to check out when I walked in and a lady asked me to another register where she got me out of there rather quickly. While inside I scoped the place out. The average age of patrons was above retirement age, which might explain the bland food. The dining room looked pretty dated, but that's not a dealbreaker for me if the food is good. The kitchen is an open style, viewable from the dining room, which I like. I did notice that the cools are all hispanic, which is a bit ironic for an Italian place. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem who cools my food as long as it comes out as it should. But perhaps there should be someone who understands what the food should taste like at the helm? I doubt I'll be going back. Basically, I paid almost $20 to have a slightly undercooked baked potato for lunch. Oh, and that baked potato was only supposed to cost $1.99 when ordered with a dinner/meal, but showed up as $3.99 on my receipt.
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
My wife introduced this place to me while we were dating; she was so worried because this has been her favorite restaurant since she was a kid. No worries needed though; good home cooked style Italian food, complete with the fresh..greasy type taste that reminds us Italians of momma's cooking. You can't go wrong with one of their pizzas(our fav is the white pizza with chicken..EXTRA CRISPY). It tastes amazing. The lasagna is a close second and their chef salad is wonderful for light eaters. The service is always good too; most of them have been here awhile and they're always friendly. This place has been an Irving institution since 1966..and for good reason, it's great!

Yelp
We have been here a few times and it is always good. We had the lunch special and it's nice that the lunch last until 4. The only thing which I can't even complain about is that my food came out sooooo hot, but that's not a bad thing!!! Just needed some time to cool down because it was so fresh. I appreciate that. We will definitely be back! :)

Yelp
In spite of all of my many wonderful dining experiences at upscale, trendy Italian restaurants, Angelos will always be one of my favorite divey spots. Yes, it's run down, needs a serious decor re-do and/or a complete overhaul. The building is old and in disrepair. That being said, Angelos still holds a special place in my memory bank. At one time I lived in the Irving area and often stopped by on the way home to pick up dinner. Hadn't been in years due to its geographical location until a recent re-visit. On my recommendation, my dining companion agreed we should share two different entrees. And, I was appointed the assignment of choices, so I went with my two favorite dishes from years gone by. They are still as good as I remembered. OMGosh, I just love their spaghetti and meat sauce; it's so flavorful, slightly spicy, and a gnormous serving, along with that crunchy, buttery garlic bread, and a small side salad, with pretty good Italian dressing. We both dove in, ending all conversation as we inhaled this rich delicious dish; nothing fancy, just good freshly made in house yumminess. There was a doggie bag accompanying us on the way home even though the entree was shared by two hungry folks. The Cannelloni Florentine is simply some of the best I've enjoyed elsewhere, stuffed with veal, spinach and ricotta cheese. I always order this with one of the tube shells covered in the robust meat sauce and the other with creamy rich Alfredo sauce. Pasta was perfectly cooked and another generous portion. Again, enough for a second doggie bag. As stated by others, yes, Angelos has been an Irving institution since the late 60's, (and the current decor reflects that), known for its friendly service, freshly prepared food, and very inexpensive dining. One goes here for all those reasons, not for ambiance, beautiful atmosphere or "fine" dining, matching dinnerware and utensils. Nope, you won't find that here. Service was very welcoming, friendly, and appropriately attentive on a Saturday afternoon, and for the price, the most inexpensive meal I've had at a sit down restaurant. Approximately $16 plus tax & tip for two of us. However, note. Angelos does not serve beer or wine, so obviously that accounted in part for the low price. (It would been great though with a glass of Merlot!) I hope that we get adventuresome and wander out of our way north suburbia bubble and find ourselves back at this spot recalling so many great experiences!

Yelp
Wonderful food, and even better wait staff. I've been coming here for years! Make sure to get the baked lasagna! Also the spaghetti and chicken parm are out of this world! I would recommend eating in because I've had takeout before and it's not the same!
