Whenever I travel home from Brooklyn, I have to stock up on at least a case of good wines because the Annapolis area is seriously lacking when it comes to interesting and newer age/new world varietals-- not a skin contact, natural, biodynamic wine or lighter bodied Gamay/Beaujolais in sight! When Fadensonnen came to town, things got interesting. And Angels Ate Lemons followed suit! What an incredible selection! A couple interesting Bichi bottles, some solid MD representation with Westminster varietals I can't find up North, stuff from Lucy Margaux.... I could go on and on and on. Clearly, these ladies take the time and care when selecting their line-up. And it blows many Brooklyn wine shops out of the water. The space is beautifully curated as well.... A converted/seemingly converted apartment space-- classic Baltimore rowhouse architecture...high ceilings, exquisitely tall windows, patina'ed wood flooring, floor-to-ceiling shelving with a rolling ladder, great records playing, ample greenery, candles-- the whole nine yards! My only minor complaint would be that while the associate was incredibly kind, welcoming and hospitable, she knew little about many of the wines we asked about, leaving us to consult Vivino for tasting notes. Totally understandable as COVID has made it more difficult for folks to hold staff tastings-- but just a note! Will definitely be back for another visit very soon. Just wish there were more wonderful spots like this in the DMV!
