"Angel’s Icehouse is the answer for simple and easy drinks in a fun alfresco space. On deck are beers, burgers, queso, and the requisite chicken fried steak. The icehouse often hosts live music too." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Perfect place for a filling lunch after a day of swimming. Love how dog friendly it is! Not sure if you're open to suggestions - if so, I would love a spot on the tables for their leashes to tie through. Will return for the queso and sweet potato fries alone!

T. M.

Google
Angels is a fun family friendly spot with good food. We had great service from Alicia and I think our server was named Jenny on the next visit. I forgot her name, but they were both super attentive and great! The ambiance is lively and fun. There’s always people there and usually kids playing. We tried the chicken fried steak once which could’ve been better, it seemed like the fryer oil needed to be changed because the breading was very dark and not only crispy but almost crumbly when you bit into it. The wings and Caesar salad are really good. Do yourself a favor and try the espresso martini!!

Google
Visited Angels Icehouse off 71 and loved the decor, especially the beautiful Lake Travis painting. The vibe is perfect for families, and the staff was friendly. Happy hour was a great deal—I tried the chicken-fried steak, burger, and tostada. All were solid tasty dishes and reasonably priced, but nothing was outstanding. My only small gripe was the sweetness on the fries, which isn't to my taste. Overall, a great experience, and I’d definitely return!

Dalton S.

Google
Such a nice place! The atmosphere was very cozy. The pizza was really good. Our server Nate was super fun. We loved the whole experience, especially the fact that there were dogs everywhere.

Google
Destination spot in Hill Country. Classic Texas Roadhouse with great vibe. Food is terrific with a friendly, fun staff. Great indoor outdoor seating. You can hang all day. Just excellent

Kristina York

Google
The burgers and shrimp tacos never disappoint. The adult Cherry Lime aid is great.

Google
Place looks great but the food was absolutely terrible. Got a bleu cheese burger and bleu cheese was the only thing I could taste. Fries were stale. My coworker got a philly cheese steak and said it was so salty he couldn’t finish it. On top of this our bill was $60. If you’re in this area there are food trucks literally down the street serving gourmet-level Mexican cuisine at half the price.

I love coming here to chill. My burger was spot on good. But my fries were less than usual and a little over done. Everything else was great. Amazing chill atmosphere. Ton of TV monitors. But the only change I like to see is the chairs at the tables inside suck. They're too low and uncomfortable. My legs fell asleep. And I felt like a little kid at the dinner table. Table way up here but my chair puts me way down there. Hated them. If you are going to remodel get good chairs. Or cut two inches off the table legs. 👍

Yelp
We come to Angels almost every weekend! We love the live music, the beautiful spacious outdoors seating, and the kids love the playground and room to roam! My favorites are their Brussels sprouts, queso, and sliders! But my MOST favorite is the Angels Meltdown! Yummmm We have also had the pork chops and chicken fried chicken that were delicious! We always have friendly and fast service!

Kevin S.

Yelp
You can miss Angel's easily without a GPS, especially since all you see is a red fence from the highway. Once inside, it's great to see how much outdoor space they have. This is a great place to bring kids during the day! The food is definitely good. The Chicken Tortilla Soup was the bomb, with loads of chicken and a nice smoky flavor that didn't take over everything else. The burgers were OK, although the patties seemed a bit small compared to the buns. The service was good for a Friday lunch. Might be worth checking out again when we're in the area.

Brandon K.

Yelp
Such a great spot for the family to get out of the house. Whether you are looking for a solid spots bar, or a place that has a big yard with plenty of room for kids to run around, this place has it. We showed up around 1pm on a Saturday during football season and were able to get a table inside. The place wasn't packed but also wasn't empty. The fish and chips were quite tasty. One thing to note is the fry's. The are made in house, and are incredibly similar to In N Out style. Some people love them, and others hate them so just keep that in mind. I thought they were solid, but go bad fast if you let them sit for a while. Lastly, I'm a big water drinker, so there is nothing more I love than a MASSIVE water cup. Server was also quick to refill when needed which is always a plus.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I love coming to Angel's for a laid back friendly experience! The food is always quality and cooked to perfection. The staff is wonderful and very engaging, and the other patrons always make it feel like everyone is happy to be there and bring you along for the ride! Great outdoor space, plenty of room and live music - fun for families or just getting together with friends.

Allyson C.

Yelp
Angel's was closed for remodeling when we first moved to the area and we noticed they were open recently, so we stopped in for dinner. The outdoor area is family (and pet!) friendly. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, having seen tables get turned over quickly and were cleaned meticulously. All of the servers made sure to give my dog attention, too, bringing him water and a Milk Bone (twice his size!). He gives two paws up for having been treated like a hooman. Our drinks were delicious and our entrees were fantastic as well. There was live music that night. It was nice to be able to enjoy the music from a distance, so we could enjoy having our conversation as well. We didn't end up walking inside at all, so we will have to go back to check it out without our 4-legged friend one day.

Briana S.

Yelp
Inside has very few tables that aren't bar seating and the food isn't the best quality. The fries are thinner than I'd like and the power bowl with chicken instead of shrimp was fairly bland. The servers aren't the kindest either. And there are always kids around so not a place I'd recommend if that's not your vibe.

Scott G.

Yelp
If you're looking for a change in food quality since new management, look elsewhere. The chicken fried chicken and hamburgers are sub-par and honestly when was the last time outside of a school cafeteria do you find carrots as a side dish? On the positive, the bartenders do rock and have basic cocktails with a very modern beer selection. Ticket times are longer when packed and seemingly is always packed. During warm days and evenings, can be appealing to have drinks outside just not sure if you want to be inside on cold days. It can be very very loud. Would love to turn this place into a Biergarten and serve some serious beer in steins. Not recommend.

Samuel T.

Yelp
This place was okay. Service was excellent. Food was okay. Geared toward the neighborhood area. Family friendly. Large community tables and bar seating.

Michael B.

Yelp
Went St. Pats day they only had one bartender working. We sat at the bar hoping we can get good service. The food was just ok. My drink was empty for over 15 minutes when we decided to leave and go somewhere else.

Jamie R.

Yelp
We loved it here! Good food. I'd recommend the pizza! Didn't love the burger or wings. The onion rings were GREAT! Brownie was good too. Great place for the kids to play while we enjoyed a margarita. Excellent service for us! Food was fast. Outside was nicely kept and enclosed.

Bob H.

Yelp
I like Angels. Good food and ambiance. But this trip service was poor. After seating myself, I had to go up towards bar to get a waitress' attention. She had been busy visiting with co-workers sitting on the other side of the bar. Pleasant enough when she took my order. When I was ready to pay my bill, I couldnt get her attention. I finally walked up to her position (sitting on the other side of the bar) and handed her my cc. I know finding good people can be difficult. Perhaps she needs training. Sitting behind the draft beer dispensers (cant see floor) chatting with co-workers while ignoring customer/s trying to wave her down is not the kind of service I wish to have. I intend this review as constructive; not just being critical. My meal was otherwise very tasty.

Marie M.

Yelp
We are regular visitors and we bring all of our out of town guests here. Recently, we have noticed a decline in service, particularly when we sit at the bar. We love sitting there but our last visit, we arrived around 5:50 and wanted to grab a happy hour drink. The bartender ignored us until well after 6 and refused to charge the happy hour price. It's not that we cannot pay more for the drinks but we always prefer to save on drinks and then take great care of our servers. We were really disappointed in how we were treated. Taking a break now.

Sierra B.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town. Went for a drink and an appetizer, queso supreme was good. I had a mix up with my drink, I ordered the Fredom rita but got a regular frozen margarita, our waitress was apologetic and willing to make the switch. I ended up keeping the drink and it was delicious! My husband has the Burros Breakfast on tap and it was great. We were there during Memorial Day, they had live music, it was great! Plenty of outdoor seating and fans with misters. Would definitely recommend stopping by if in the area.

Len D.

Yelp
Went to Angel's again for a burger. As always, the service was outstanding and the food great. It was late afternoon so not too packed but the server was very attentive and helpful. The onion rings were very good as well. I recommend Angel's as a goto venue. The music is always good as well. My grandkids love the revamped playground area as well. A great local place!

Robb W.

Yelp
Very popular local southwest Travis County mostly outside, dog-friendly (and kids too) venue with a great western view for sunsets. While spring and fall (mid-upper80'sF) evenings can be busy, service remains prompt and accurate. The food here has been consistently good-nothing extravagant, but great deep-fried everything... lol!

Daron B.

Yelp
I've been eating at Angel's for the past several years, and it's a great option for the area. The chicken breast steak is phenomenal. They offer a good selection of draft beers as well. It's a family-friendly environment. Most of the staff are excellent, but, just like anywhere, there can be a few bad apples.

Rich G.

Yelp
Sunday lunch at Angel's. Wife had a cheese burger. Daughter had the Turkey burger. I had the bacon mushroom Swiss burger. All very good. For sides you get French fries plus for an up charge we had onion rings and fried okra. Onion rings and okra excellent- fries not as hot as they should be. Today they had a guitar/singer on the back stage. Lots of families with little kids. Plus it's dog friendly. Just a fun place. Good service. Fun place to grab a beer & burger. It's a 5.

James K.

Yelp
New to Spicewood and just happened to pass by during lunch and figured there was no better time to check out Angel's. I read several of the reviews and it seemed they have pretty decent food. Big parking lot and when you go inside, it's quite big and open inside. Looks like a great sports bar with screens all over the restaurant. Pretty much any seat you are going to have a good view of a game or event. They have a pretty big outdoor area and I imagine when it's a warmer part of the year, they have live entertainment on weekends. I sat up at the bar and had my mind set on a burger, so why not their own "Angel Cheese Burger" and I ordered mine all the way and added jalapenos. They do not ask how you want the burger cooked and the burger does come with fries. I just wanted something cold to drink and ordered up an iced tea. Unfortunately, they use Nestea "instant" and it's pretty disappointing. I can never understand why a place won't serve freshly brewed iced tea. It's simple to brew and not expensive at all. When they served up the burger, I'll just say it wasn't what I was expecting. It looked like something they ordered up from a fast food restaurant and they were serving it. The bun was not fresh and sort of squashed. The beef they use is like something probably comes in frozen patties like 100 to a package. It does not taste at all like fresh beef and although it looks like a cheddar cheese slice, it wasn't very flavorful. I did order the burger "all the way" which was supposed to have mayo, mustard and some other fixings but it has lettuce and tomato but no condiments. I don't know if they cut their own fries (which I doubt) or if they come pre-cut and frozen. The fries were hot, but tasted old/stale. Overall, it was a burger not unlike I could get at any drive-thru but a drive-thru doesn't charge $12 for a burger! This is NOT a $12 burger honestly, the quarter pounder at McDonalds easily beats this burger. I'm not advocating for McDonalds as there are some really outstanding burger places but Angel's is not one of them. I did read other reviews on some other dishes here and I have no doubt I'll be back to try some others. Maybe someday they will start serving freshly brewed iced tea. Looks like a fun place especially when there is a game to watch or on the weekends with live entertainment, but for now based upon this experience, the food is just average at best.

Ashley G.

Yelp
Like the atmosphere and drinks and fast service on food, however I ordered the gobbler (turkey burger) and the menu says 1/2 pound turkey patty. Umm NOT even close. It was smaller than a frozen pre-made patty from the grocery store. I had to order a second patty and at $15 it should've been what was advertised. Disappointed to say the least. Just paid around $20 for a sad sad burger

Trina W.

Yelp
Our server was top notch. We were able to seat ourselves and were attended to immediately after. This place can get quite busy and the tables are split to be shared so it can be very crowded. Lots of TVs to be able to watch whatever game is on. Food was hot and tasty. The wings were some of the best I've had in a while. Try the lemon pepper and/or the buffalo!

Em B.

Yelp
What a fun place! The atmosphere was great, the food was phenomenal and the music was amazing! And my dog had a blast eating her favorite hamburger ever (that day at least)!

Kathy T.

Yelp
Food is good bar food but the last few times we were there it was dirty and there were bugs in the patio area. Other than keeping the tables cleam-i dont know how you keep bugs off the screened in patio.

Mary W.

Yelp
We stopped on a Saturday afternoon (1:30) and for a group of 6, the service was great!! Prompt and fast! The burgers were delish and the fries were seasoned well- seasoned- we were impressed!

Dustin S.

Yelp
The burgers were very good and my daughter loved the chicken fried chicken. Cool location and a great place to sit on a patio to catch a game, have a beer and have good bar food. Also the Queso Supreme was a great starter.

Brandon C.

Yelp
Disappointing Grand Reopening After experiencing a longtime yearning for fried pickles and jalapeños, I was excited when Angels was opening their doors again after their remodeling. At first I attempted ordering online. No joy. Then, I tried via phone. No joy. Finally, I drove to the watering hole to order in person. After finally finally parking, I stood at the bar for 10 minutes before any of the four bartenders acknowledged my presence. When I asked to place a to-go order, he replied, "No can-do, boss man. We're too busy for to-go orders, but you can dine-in." Come on, man. Guess I will try again in a random Tuesday afternoon. Maybe then Angles will want my patronage and money.

mcse j.

Yelp
Bartenders seem to be too slow to look up to see that there are people wanting a drink. They always seem to be busy with waitresses' drink orders. On the weekends, there should be more than 2 bartenders. I suggest 4 for the size of the bar and restaurant.

AnnJeanette F.

Yelp
Good burger, music and great spot to take the kids. Dog friendly for friendly dogs. Fun place to hang with friends.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Great bar with many TVs to catch the game. Good beer selection. Great food. Good place for kids also, lots of things to do. Live music on the weekends

Mcnamara D.

Yelp
Great food, decent drinks and friendly service. And we have a new favorite band "reverent few" which was an added bonus. It was a bit too warm outside for the slushee frozen drinks but they have misters and plenty of family fun

Chip M.

Yelp
We have been to Angels many times over the years when visiting friends in Spicewood... The atmosphere is still great, service really friendly and efficient on a busy Sunday afternoon. But gosh, the burger I had was not worth $16. The Bocephus comes with bacon, which was good, but there was hardly any sauce, lettuce, jalapenos? Worst was the burger, a tiny, hard- cooked patty so small that it took up only half the bun. I hate giving bad reviews, but a burger to me is sacred and should be better. The menu doesn't mention how many ounces the patties are, so that tells you something. My wife enjoyed the shrimp tacos, shrimp was good and well grilled.

Georgina G.

Yelp
My family and I stopped by here on the way to our Lakehouse in Kingsland and we were absolutely floored by how big this place is! We had our 16 month old son with us and to our delight we realized there was a huge block set outside and a play scape for kids! The outside area is extremely open and great for large groups and any place you decide to sit your easily able to look at your little ones play while enjoying a meal and beverage outside. They have mister fans and a great staff that made us absolutely welcomed and comfortable.

Loreen L.

Yelp
If you order takeout, make sure you check your order before you leave. Paid +$4.00 (+$2.00 each burger) for avocado on 2 burgers and they never put it on the burgers. Fries were a little soggy. They would probably travel better if not packaged in a steamy box that holds moisture. But, minus the avocado I paid for and didn't get, it was ok.

Versai C.

Yelp
The service is good and the environment was really fun! The food was not good at all, everything was sweet the French fries, burger, and even the fried pickles. I would go once and then never go a again.

Ruthie B.

Yelp
Dog friendly spot with good service. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was okay. It wasn't terrible but I've had better. The food came out promptly. Our waitress was super sweet and made sure the doggo had plenty of water. There's also indoor seating with TVs inside and outside. It was a quaint little spot. I would stop by again if I was in the area.

amy g.

Yelp
Pretty good. I just went here for the first time last week. Nice outdoor seating area, and the food was good. Service was good and attentive as well

Tanya H.

Yelp
Fun, family-friendly atmosphere with good food & service. We love the live music too!

Kenneth F.

Yelp
Good food and great service. Recently remodeled, the kitchen has been updated and expanded. Give 'em a try if you've never visited them.

Kim B.

Yelp
Good food and service. It gets pretty load though if you're trying to have a conversation

Eric G.

Yelp
Great place for music and drinks and a bite to eat. A whole package. If you have kids, plenty to do and space to run. Arrive after 7:00 if you want a kid free experience.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Service: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Food: 2-3/5 Other: 3/5 I am always looking for new places to take real estate clients to discuss their needs- to appeal to different types of people, hence my visit here, with some nearby new listings. I scanned the QR code and ordered a drink on the menu, but it wasn't available, so I was offered an alternative, which I was fine with. Then, part of the alternative (which was only two ingredients) wasn't something they had at the bar. Small inconvenience, but took away from my first impressions of the place. The good outcome is that I was left with a nice, alternative drink! I ordered the Blue cheese onion burger, with lettuce, Mayo, and ketchup, adding jalapeños to it as well. I didn't have any ketchup on it (top nor bottom), and when I tried to use the ketchup on the table, it was liquidy and I worried a bit about freshness. My burger also seemed to fall apart in my hands. Big burgers, I get it, but it seemed like the patty wasn't formed very well. The fries were below average and didn't have any redeeming qualities. I wish I could've swapped fries for something else, but I was told this wasn't an option. I also wish the wings came in a smaller quantity! Overall, I'm not sure I would come back.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Great family atmosphere! They have tons of seating outside with a playground. Service was quick and the food came out fast! We had chips and salsa, a BLT (can't remember the fancy name) and a burger. Food was great and the seasoned fries were yummy.

Mark C.

Yelp
Fun kid friendly place. Food is edible. Service is slow. Great atmosphere... $17 for a chicken sandwich which is meh. It will push a turd.

Richard B.

Yelp
Ok folks I want to give a major shout out to Erin. She was smart enough to go back and look at negative reviews before the update of Angels. She reach out to me to give their establishment another try even though I had a bad experience and never wanted to go back. Let me tell you I was glad I accepted the invite. My current experience was delightful. My wife was concerned when we arrived if they would serve us because there wasn't a host to seat us, but right away we were greeted by our server and took our drink order. Next, our host took our order and it was delivered quickly. The burger I ordered was delicious and my wife's salad was yummy. She especially loved how they did their croutons. Very unique. I was surprised by the amount of french fries I received with my burger. I couldn't finish them all. Our server, Eric, was amazing as well as all the staff. What was cool is their layout. It went from bar to deck to under the oak trees which was awesome. The food was really good and fast. I noticed the staff working well together enjoying their jobs. They were all very helpful. I asked if I could have my ice tea to go and Eric gave me a fresh cup and straw to go. Very classy. Because he didn't take my current cup but choose to give me a fresh cup. I was also glad to see they were hiring veterans. Eric our server was a vet Marine . Which I am as well. Sempre fi. The ambience was relaxing and subperb. Giving that I live across the way consider me a new regular. Congratulations Angle's for being a new improve establishment to our Spicewood community. I will now be a frequent customer. I'll be back tomorrow with a long time family friend to celebrate my birthday. Thanks again Erin. Thanks Eric for being a great server. My new go to place. By the way your construction improvements just make your place even better!! Cheers!

Rachel Q.

Yelp
always a great time here!!!! Nikki is my favorite server, she's so sweet and funny. I love bringing my friends and family to join the fun

Laura M.

Yelp
We got our food to go but what we had was great. The turkey burger was delicious and the fries were slightly sweet which was different but tasty.

Tracey C.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken fried chicken sandwich & fries. The fries were soggy, mushy and gross. The sandwich came covered in sauce with tomato's, lettuce and onions. Nowhere on the menu does it mention any of that. When I called to speak to someone about it I got a rude girl who was argumentative. I explained to her that I ordered a chicken fried chicken sandwich and what I actually received. Was not that. I also told her that my receipt says "Buffalo bill" sandwich, thinking maybe it got mixed up. Nope!! She went on to say that the Buffalo Bill IS the chicken fried chicken sandwich. Again I said that nowhere on the menu do they mention putting anything on the sandwich and again she argued about it. I said "thank you" and hung up. I ended up throwing the whole meal away, $20 wasted. I won't be ordering or dinning there at all in the future.

Bill S.

Yelp
Came a couple hours .. 4pm.. before their Grand Opening. Happy Hour on website states 3-6. Asked server about it she said "Not Today." Won't be back.

Natasha B.

Yelp
Great food! I've dined here and the service was phenomenal but when it comes to to go orders y'all are failing miserably. I've ordered Togo over 5 times in the past 3 months and always get home and something is missing :(

Sarah L.

Yelp
Second time to Angels. We come from about 3 hours away to visit the area and stopped by. Love it here. Both times have been amazing food. Highly recommend for food, service, and atmosphere. Get the chicken fried chicken with queso on top, you won't regret it! Only complaint is that we got margaritas at reverse happy and never took the $1 off the 3 we purchased. Please check your tab before paying. We never received a copy before he asked for our card on his hand held machine.

Jim S.

Yelp
Ambiance leaves a bit to be desired and the high tables are not comfortable for a person with back issues. Food and drink was OK. Very convenient for those traveling westerly on the way home from work.
