Holy Boar! My sister and brother in law went to food show in Vegas and brought back some goodies. As a New Yorker, I’ve never heard of this brand and like most Sicilian New Yorkers, I like to think of myself as a soppressata and salami connoisseur. With that said, the boar was exceptional- I’ve had other boar salami, this one had the best flavor without being too irony as I’ve tasted in the past with other boar- feral swine for win! Second one, the elk - I don’t hate elk, it’s not my favorite but I like to enjoy elk in small doses and this was the occasion. It definitely has an earthy taste to it and it was drier than the boar and venison but again, very delicious and this company nailed it perfectly. This is the first I’ve had it with pork mixed and I believe it created a wonderful flavor. Venison: I love venison so I’m biased and this doesn’t disappoint. I didn’t want to share this one with my husband so, shamelessly I ate the whole thing myself in a matter of a couple days for lunch and dinner. The truffles were very good, the Italian bistro I was good, however my favorite so far is French Rosette- I don’t know if it’s the nutmeg and garlic for me but this one is delicious:: chefs kiss::. I’m disappointed my sister and BIL didn’t bring home the duck to try but I’ll definitely be getting that on my purchase. We have several more to try over the next few weeks and I’m looking for to it- I didn’t want to forget to write this review. Amazing products!

I finally found proper salami in SoCal!!! Tucked away in a little strip mall, Angel’s offers an incredibly good product for the discerning connoisseur. And the brewery next door makes it worth the 50 mile round trip every time.

Such great, personalized service! Its a very small shop and we didn't feel we were dressed quite the part for such luxurious items. We were treated with the utmost respect and never felt talked down to or like we were a burden. Had a fun time shopping for gifts and had an even better time enjoying our purchase later that night.

I placed an order as a gift for my mom earlier this year. Customer service was truly above and beyond! The order arrived in good shape, was packaged well, and was apparently quite tasty!

I have absolutely no knowledge, skills, or experience in picking out charcuterie ingredients. So, I decided to come to a local shop hoping that I could be guided by some experts, and my expectations were FAR EXCEEDED! the store owner a gentleman named Pascal was incredibly respectful and even more knowledgeable. I am French and I can assure you that Angel's Salumi & Truffles provides the best salami, prosciutto and foie gras torchon (duck liver) in San Diego! They have unique products black or white truffle salami, venison salami, bison salami, wild boar salami, toscano and the French saucisson Rosette! They also propose white or black truffle butter, white or black truffle oil, truffle sea salt, truffle peeling and puree! Go check out their online webiste or their retail store. The selection of meats was excellent and all tastes great. The owner was quite helpful in picking out all I needed for a 14 person whisky tasting party.

Salami is healthy???? Yes! Angel's is the Best! What the so-called medical and nutritional authorities are telling you is that processed meat like "salami" is bad for you. Given the nitrates and nitrites added as preservatives to regular mass-market salami that become nitrosamines in your system as you digest products that contain them are known to cause cancer, you should stay away from any processed meat products that contains them. What we are not being told is that fermented and cured meat products like traditional salumi, prosciutto, coppa and others are actually good for your gut and your health. The natural probiotics (typically lactobacillus) in the fermented meat will colonize in your gut and help to maintain and restore a healthy gut biome. Our pre-industrial ancestors ate a lot of cured / fermented meat since it was the only way to preserve it. Today, in many of the Blue Zones around the globe, centenarians happily enjoy cured and fermented meat products and live healthy lives into very old age. I just tried 4 different products from this place and I am more then pleased with the quality. The service was outstanding as well. Definitely recommend.

My friends and I made a truffle dinner night & Angels was the perfect place to get the best ingredients. I got both their white and black truffle salami (I prefer the black) and truffle cheese. Huge hit among all guests. Also got a fresh truffle that we added to the pasta. Simply stupendous! February 4th is National Stuffed Mushroom Day, so I'm eager to use some of the other salamis for a new creation!!!

To the meat eaters, self proclaimed carnivores and the foodies, I think I found it... I mean we can argue it is hard to F*** up sausage but we all have at least one story. This is not that story. I checked out this website based on a recommendation from a hot bartender in San Francisco (not only his looks but his pallet is on fire too). All jokes and puns aside I started off small and I went with a feral boar prosciutto, berkshire pork truffle sausage and a duck sausage. I did the pork truffle sausage with some basic Trader Joes social crackers and after a couple cuts noticed how generous the truffle was mixed in creating a robust flavor. Second I did the wild boar on a pizza and on crackers, its deep dark colors pleasant to the eye and the buds. Oh yeah your pizza ready for this level of love. Duck sausage (pictured below) is great it has a nice balance of fat pepper and not insanely greasy tasting. I feel like duck sausage can have that bitter taste because it is an oily meat. I have been messing around with taste companions for this duck sausage and honestly its plays with all your charcuterie condiments. throw your fancy parties with this meat, also I noticed the website has all such of fair yet to be explored. I will try more products and see what other surprises they have to offer.

I can't say enough about this place. It has completely ruined me for salami. Duck is my favorite, with venison and white truffle are a close second! Pascal has created quite the amazing delicious stuff! My former boss is French and has not had charcuterie since coming here to San Diego. He prefers not to eat it because it won't be good. Well...we had this for appetizers before dinner one night and he was completely blown away by the quality and taste. I can appreciate good things, he KNOWS good things. If I could give 6 stars I would: I only wish they had some weekend house!

This place is amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly and the meats are the best I've had here. Definitely a must try! We bought the chorizo sausage, cured duck breast and wild boar prosciutto. Loved them all!

First time trying the salumi and we had the elk, venison and duck which we loved. The wild boar and pork were a bit tuff and hard to chew which we were not a fan of.

I stopped by their store and what amazing products. Simply the best of the best.. Packaged wonderfully. Take home and place on a board with a glass of wine. Ummmmm.

We were gifted a basket of assorted Angel's sausages from a food supplier we do business with. Having tried it, we wonder if he still wants our business or is getting rid of a poor purchase. We opened the elk and pork looking forward to excellence. Instead, we got one step removed from beef jerky. Nothing but artificial flavoring and preservative contaminating some meat product. The casing was very low quality. Into the garbage and one by one we sampled, and threw away, one after the other. Of 6 salumi, we kept the duck. It was serviceable. I don't know where this place is. But if I wanted sausage from California there's at least 2 places in the Bay Area that make sausage competitive with the finest one can get in Italy or France (I grew up, lived and worked in Italy). This Angels stuff is what would expect from a 7/11.

I went to Angels Salumi & Truffles annual party last night. I just didn't think they could out do last year, but they did! Their white truffle Salumi and truffle butter is to die for! I took a friend who is very into cooking and he thought it was delicious! We will both be using Angels Salumi & Truffles for holiday gift baskets. I literally love, love, live their black and white truffle Salumi! And the belly dancers and music was spectacular! Next year I'm taking everyone I know! Thanks Pascal!

In this age of social media advertising, one comes across a plethora of posts for a variety of products. As a self proclaimed foodie, I was intrigued by a page I came across belonging to Pascal Besset. Pascal's Instagram page featured beautiful images of European (Mostly French and Italian style) "charcuterie", and "salumi" meat products. Pascal is the founder and head chef at Angel's Salumi and Truffles based in Carlsbad, California. A little leery of Instagram ads, I had to check out the store's website, and called the company to find out about current shipping policies. After going through the company's website and viewing their product line I decided to place an order. A nice feature of the company's site is a prize wheel that you can spin to earn a discount or free shipping. I scored free shipping. I ordered a duck prosciutto breast, Manchego and Rocinante cheese from Spain, a white truffle pork salami, and a duck salami. The duck prosciutto came shrink wrapped and wrapped in butcher's paper. Please see the photos of this beautiful piece of meat. The well seasoned prosciutto has a delicious thin layer of fat and it melts in your mouth. As a frequent traveler to Quebec City (French Canada) and France, I have been eating all kinds of charcuterie for the past twelve years and this product stands out. Next, my wife and I tried the White Truffle Berkshire pork salami. The notes of truffle and wine came out immediately, complementing the seasoned meat. Exquisite! Chef Besset obviously loves his craft and the product reflects that. All meats are steroid free, antibiotic free, and hormone free. He answered the phone when I called his company and his sales and marketing director Steffi personally helped me set up my account and attend to my order as well. Later, she followed up on my order by email. This business was a pleasure doing business with and I look forward to my next order. The company sells a line of European cheeses, truffle salumi including duck and wild boar, truffles, truffle butters, truffle oils, and truffle salts as well. Enjoy!

As a European, finding products just like in the old world, it is amazing! All their salamis, foie gras, truffles and derivatives are fantastic. Great team! They handle all of our corporate holiday gifts which are a hit every year. Thanks guys.

This place is absolutely great. Staff is so kind and explained everything they sell in detail. Everything tastes just like in France. I will definitely go there again now to buy french saussisson!
