Google
I was really impressed by how clean, well-organized, and spacious this store is. From the moment you walk in, you notice how easy it is to navigate—everything is laid out logically, with wide aisles that don’t feel cramped, even when the store is busy. It’s refreshing to see a liquor store that prioritizes cleanliness and a clutter-free shopping experience; you can tell they take pride in maintaining the space. The liquor selection is solid—not the largest I’ve seen, but they carry all the essentials and a few higher-end options. If you’re looking for something specific or boutique, they might not have every niche brand, but for most shoppers, the selection will more than meet expectations. Where they really shine is the beer section. There’s a great variety here, from domestic staples to an impressive range of craft beers and imports. Everything is well-stocked and clearly labeled, making it easy to find what you’re looking for or discover something new. Customer service was friendly and low-pressure; staff were available if you needed help but let you browse freely. Checkout was quick and efficient. Overall, this store strikes a perfect balance between selection, organization, and customer experience. Whether you’re picking up a few staples or stocking up for an event, it’s a place you’ll be happy to return to. Highly recommended.

Intended to splurge today on a bottle of Pappy but find it hard to pay premium secondary prices on bottles that are sun bleached from sitting in a window display for years Edit…dummy bottles? 🤔 I found Pappy 10yr at another store downtown DC for half the asking at this store. Angels Share has a nice store with a great selection….cannot dispute that!

Google
I am super close to this store so I'm here often. The owner is so nice and always friendly. They always have what I'm looking for at a good price!

Google
Ok, I love the convenience and cleanliness, but be careful of their beer. Ive bought many 6-packs to discover the Best Before date was 6-9 months past due. So today I purchased one, sight-unseen to test the theory, and it was BB 3/12/23. Their liquor selection is great, but just be careful of the fridge section

Friendly and helpful staff.

Google
It's a big liquor and wine store with a great collection of all premium and normal brands. The staff is very cordial and helpful. Owner Mr Puneet is a very nice person with a pleasing personality.

Google
This is the best liquor store in Shaw. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, amazing selection, and great layout. Very normal prices. I only go here to shop.

Google
This is a hidden gem! Being from Alabama, this store has many bottles that I can’t even get and they had very good prices. Store owner was super helpful and welcoming. Give them a chance!

Yelp
Not only did they deliver my order over an hour late. They marked the order delivered over 50 minutes before it was actually delivered and I kept receiving texts ... it will be delivered in 10-15 minutes, it will be delivered in 10 minutes, etc... Apparently, other folks have experienced this too. I ordered Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, and they delivered a cheap sauvignon blanc that is not similar in value or quality. And they didn't adjust the price for the cheaper wine. NOT COOL, folks! I shouldn't have to say that that is just bad business.

Yelp
Never thought I'd review a liquor store, but this one really impressed me. Spacious, well lit, great selection, and awesome service! The guy at the front was so cool and helpful. Love this liquor store!

Yelp
Beautiful hidden gem of a liquor store. The place is beautifully lit and has a ton of liquor for any budget. They greet you as soon as you enter and not in the weird watching you kind of way but a hey I'm glad you found your way here way.

Yelp
Do not order delivery via Drizzly from this store; they are running a scam. They have lied repeatedly to me and to drizzly about the order being delivered, oh no wait it will be there in two minutes. Oh no wait it was left outside, but the driver is coming back to hand it to you personally. Blah blah blah. Stay away.

Yelp
I went it and was blown away by their selections. That was until I seen the prices. These are beyond ridiculous. I'm all for a mark up but what I saw was one step shirt of robbery. $250 for Blantons and $99 for McKenna 10 yr! Idk also the lack of knowledge to justify the prices other than that's what's on google is a let down.

Yelp
A great liquor store with an extensive wine and beer selection, right across 7th Street from the Shaw-Howard University metro stop (Howard U exit). Angel's Share is inviting and friendly, and if you were ever in the old Log Cabin liquor store that occupied this space for years, you won't believe the transformation. Plexiglass shout-through windows have been replaced by wooden bookcases of glorious booze, complete with sliding library-style ladders. Warm, helpful staff are eager to help you find what you're looking for. I'm happy to report that even as the look and the service are way more upscale (*way* way) the price ranges are actually cheaper than the previous occupant--at least for wine, which is what I am usually there for. Overall, a welcome addition to the area.

Yelp
Multiple terrible experiences, most recently, ordered multiple bottles on drizzly and was notified that the order was ready for pick up. I arrive 30 minutes later, only to be told it was miss priced, despite having my contact info and the ability to save me a trip out. Probably miss priced because they didn't get the chance to charge $50 more than everyone else in the city.

Yelp
Have visited twice. This store is absolutely gorgeous and its spirits selection is probably unmatched in the entire city. I cannot speak to the wine/beer, as that is not what I'm interested in. The term "Angel's Share" is connected with whiskey, and my oh my, does their selection on that front live up to the hype. However, the insane and borderline criminal price gouging they participate in will prevent me from ever being a regular customer here. I will give several concrete examples. Eagle Rare: DC standard is $39.99. Several stores still sell it for MSRP at $29.99. Angel's Share price? $52.99. Wild Turkey 101: You can get this on sale at a different location in Shaw for $14.99. Generally about $20. Angel's Share price? $29.99. High West MWND: A rare and very limited bottle, released only a couple times a year and sells out within days everywhere. Washington Wine and Liquor on 12th sold all of theirs at $99.99, which is an elevated price, but perhaps a fair markup given that this always sells out. Angel's Share price? Something like $179.00, I can't remember the exact figure. Unfortunately this price gouging is a trend in the bourbon and scotch worlds in certain areas. If you shop for those items here, you are paying ridiculously elevated prices and promoting this terrible practice that makes things more expensive for everyone. You can find the exact same product within a 1-2 mile radius at literally HALF the cost. The store is gorgeous. The selection is unmatched. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. But I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't want a premium for better lighting and higher quality shelves, I'm in and out in 10 minutes. Very unfortunate, I was looking forward to this place.

Yelp
Neighborhood gem. Whatever liquor you may need they have! You need cardamom bitters they have that, random bourbon they got you covered! Not to mention everyone there is very helpful and the place is very clean!

Yelp
Amazing selection. Staff is very personal, friendly, knowledgeable. The vibes are great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
These guys are the best in DC. Hands down favorite liquor store in the district - great neighborhood feel as well!

Yelp
This place is great! Friendly people, great selection, nice store, efficient delivery...best wine and liquor store in the area by far.

Yelp
Horrible! Absolutely horrible! Horrible product (a $50 of champagne that had gone bad) and abhorrent customer service!!! I told them that there was something wrong with the product and they refused to assume any responsibility! They said it was not their fault and they would not do anything! The champagne smelled awful and tasted worse-- there was 90% of the bottle left and they could have decided for themselves, but the better answer was to hang up on me, repeatedly! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE! They are selling substandard merchandise with no recourse!!!

Steve G.

Yelp
EXTENSIVE whiskey selection, but VERY expensive relative to other stores. As in 20% (ish) more. I compared the prices to Schneider's for example, and I couldn't justify purchasing here unfortunately...

Chris R.

Yelp
So they have a great whiskey selection, that I'll give them. However their prices are Secondary at best. None of which surprises me in DC. The part that upsets me is that they will bait and switch you with lower prices over the phone, then not honor them

Laura S.

Yelp
I was intrigued by the name and went to check out the shop. It was a great store with a very friendly, helpful staff. They had a good wine selection ranging from inexpensive to pricy. They had one of the best collections of DC distillers that I've seen and an extensive whisky selection. Definitely worth checking out. They also offered to order anything that they didn't have in stock.
