The 12 Best Restaurants In Virginia Beach - Virginia Beach - The Infatuation

"Angie’s has been an Oak Springs staple for Filipino pastries and bread for more than 30 years, but you can also grab ube or matcha lattes alongside panaderia staples like pan de sal, ensaymada, and bibingka cakes. Stuffed pizza breads, which are like the best homemade version of a hot pocket, are also a popular treat. While there’s a small area to sit and enjoy something sweet and a coffee, you should still order extra pan de sal to bring home and have for breakfast the next morning." - anne cruz

Google
Great Filipino bakery! You can smell the fresh baking as you walk up, and you can even see them baking through the window, which is such a nice touch. They offer a fantastic variety of both sweet and savory items, plus a great selection of drinks. If ube is your thing, this is the place to be—they have everything from ube drinks and cheesecakes to fresh ube bread. The staff is super friendly and gives great recommendations if you aren’t sure what to try. We got the ube ensaymada and the empanadas, and both were delicious. Prices are very very reasonable, ranging from $3 to $10. Highly recommend!"

Google
Very cute bakery in the VB area. The Ube latte, espresso, cheesecake and bread were very tasty. Not too sweet but very satisfying. The staff is very friendly and polite as well as the regular clientele. Great spot for coffee and a good quality snack.

Google
Norfolk has an impressive range of Filipino restaurants and cafés, and Angie’s Bakery still manages to stand out. On a Sunday morning, the place was alive with a steady flow of the local Filipino community— a reminder that the best food always draws people home. The ube is the star here, and rightfully so. From coffees to pastries, every purple-hued bite was delicious. We grabbed a dozen ube rolls fresh to-go, and they didn’t even make it past the day. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere carried that perfect mix of neighborhood charm and cultural pride. For me, this was more than just a bakery stop— it was a taste of heritage. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat 🇵🇭 Five stars, easily.

Google
This is one of those places where once you go once, you'll be thinking about going all the time. I visited the first time because I was craving ube and they had lots of options available. Now I've gone back a few times and am always looking forward to when the next time I can visit is! The Ube latte is a must for every visit, and everything I've tried has been phenomenal. The bread is so perfect and soft; buy more than you think you need because you're going to want to eat it all in one sitting and will need the extra.

Google
Fast and friendly service, everything well-seasoned and delicious! Can't go wrong with chicken empanada, ham and cheese, pan de burger, or pork siopao, perfect amount of filling and pastry/dough. Hopia cherry and pumpkin spice ensaymada fantastic for dessert, especially ensaymada! Hopia our least favorite, a little dry, but still good.

Google
Wow, friendly staff and cashier. Very soft spoken. Lots of delicious bread on display to look at and decide what to buy.

Google
I came here on recommendation. I will never come back here again. I’m not only waited in line the first time and made it clear exactly what I was looking for. I was told it would be ready in an hour and to come back. I came back in an hour only to find out that I could’ve ordered and paid ahead of time and then they were out. it wasn’t even the full hour. They do not communicate well. they do not let you know what your options are, especially for first time, buyers and they have the slowest customer service.

Google
I don’t know their history but I have been going here since I learned about this place in 2000-2001. I always get a dozen of their delicious, freshly baked, hot pandesal each time. Today, I also got some twisted bread. You have two options, either dipped in sugar or cinnamon. Either one, they’re delicious. They are only available in the morning and they sold out fast. Everything at this bakery is good. I also love their buko pie, ensaymada, pandecoco, bibingka and hopia baboy. The people there are so pleasantly nice. They are courteous and treat their customers with respect. Excellent customer service. I highly recommend Angie’s Bakery.

Yelp
Angie's Bakery is one of my favorite spots for treats. Being a fan of Filipino food, it is one that never dissapoints. After Sophia and I ate lunch at nearby GuangDong Taste, we had to stop by to see what items they had in stock. Let's see how the visit went. They hardly had any customers inside so it was quicky and easy. They greeted us once we walked in and we immediately looked at what they had available. Staff was busy in the back with a few behind the counter. Sounds like a normal day here which is great. I actually had a few choices but decided to order some turon, which is a crispy banana fritter. I had it at a restaurant years ago and actually enjoyed. I actually didn't eat it until later where it lost its crispiness after being warmed up, but nonetheless it was delicious. Just enough banana inside and not too sweet from the brown sugar. Exactly the right amount for evening dessert. Great staff and great vibes all around here every time we come by. You know we'll be back again soon :)

Yelp
Walking in, I was immediately greeted and waited on. There were a lot of options in the case, but not as much ube as I was expecting. So, I figured I'd try other things that were more lunch related. I got their chicken siopao, chicken empanada, and ube siopao (I think it was called that, I forget). Along with all that, I went for an iced ube latte. I'm not much of a coffee person, but I thought I'd try new things today so may as well go for it. The woman behind the counter asked if I was good with regular milk, and I said yes. But, they do have alternative if you want. My total came out to approximately $20, and they have an actual tip jar instead of electronic tips, so next time I know to bring in physical money for that. I took a seat and got my drink in about a minute or two. The whole process was very quick, and I was off to my car to try everything. I tried the ube latte first, and when I say this was the best coffee I've ever had, I mean it. I usually am not that big on coffee, it all mostly tastes the same in my opinion. Some are more strong in coffee flavor than others, or are of lesser quality is all. But, this one is like actually a lovely flavor. The ube isn't strong, you can taste it a little, the coffee flavor is what you mostly get though. I would come here again just for that if I'm being honest, also the staff are really nice. Anyways, onto the food. I was really excited for the chicken empanada since they're one of my favorite things. The dough is flaky, like a puff pastry almost, the inside is what surprised me most though. It's like a pot pie in there! It's got chicken, peas, carrots, and a savory gravy like sauce inside. With that down, I ate the next chicken item. The chicken siopao was interesting. It wasn't like the empanada, so it threw me off a little at first. The bread was soft and squishy, a little sweet as well, and it had a good amount of filling. The filling is chicken and onion, coated in what tastes like a sesame or soy sauce based sauce. As for the ube version, it was predictable, tasted like an ube filled roll. Not to say it was bad or anything, it was quite nice, and the most ube tasting thing I had today. Which, really hit the spot. Can't wait to come back and try more of their items!

Yelp
The people in there were so nice and the cheesecake was amazing. It was a pretty good price for such a large square slice of checked. I love ube foods and this was a great smooth perfect balance of cheesecake and ube dessert. The matcha however was ok. I could taste much of the matcha and it tasted more like pandan milk.

Yelp
First stop on our Filipino food crawl. We were impressed that the display cases were obviously being restocked since the morning rush (we got there about 11) and there were only a couple of items sold out. Some of the baked goods were really excellent, others closer to average. While I personally preferred the kareoka (rice flour dough balls deep fried and honey dipped) my family did not, as the texture of the rice flour was off-putting for them. The nutella bread.... come on. It's nutella and flaky carbs -- what is not to like? And the saipao (sort of like a bao) was pretty good, though the ratio of bread to pork was a bit off for me. So a good start, and one to make a destination if you want good, accessible asian bakery goods.

Yelp
Okay, it was one of those days I was craving "Halo Halo", middle part of winter. Lol! When I got there, it seems everything goes fast. So you need to get there early. Nice clean small entry way, and small seating area to the right. Service was spot in. I asked about the "Halo Halo", but sadly for me it seasonal and only served during the summer. Since I was here I decidedto order a couple of desserts. I ordered the "Ube Cheese cake Square" & "Cinnamon Croffin" The Ube Cheese was really good nice moist and sweet. The Croffin was just too dry, and lack anything amazing on my taste buds. I will definitely go back and try there other pastries, and definitely try there Halo Halo when it's in,season!

Yelp
Amazing Food! Gets busy so get there earlier in the morning especially on Sunday's. It's a great place for bread.

Yelp
Stopped in during a trip to Virgina Beach. The ube croissant, ube ensaymada, and ube hopia were all fantastic. I highly recommend Angie's bakery for authentic Filipino sweets.

Bought the ube cheesecake was good not too sweet . I like it that way. Definitely will be back to taste other dessert or buns :)

Yelp
Wow!! Since I've come to love everything made with Ube, this location is a veritable fairyland of goodies. They didn't have the Ube Spanish Bread, which is my favorite. But their Ube Pandesal Rolls are a close second. The first time I went, I had to immediately eat one in the car. It was so hot & fresh that my finger made an indentation in the roll. Yumminess personified!! There is a door and opening between the "behind the counter' personnel & the area where the bakers are working. When you order Ube Pandesal Rolls they actually walk into the area where the goodies are being baked & bring them out fresh from the oven. It was a quite busy time of the day so I quickly purchased a bag of 6 Ube Pandesal Rolls (not nearly enough), an Ube Crinkle Cookie, a slice of Bibingka (recommended by my physical therapist) & a Pandesal. Since I don't like sweets the Ube Pandesal Rolls were by far my favorite. I have one every day now with my breakfast. On a return trip I purchased a bag of twelve, which is a more reasonable amount for me. My PT's favorite Bibingka was too sweet for my tastebuds. They had a Ube Bibingka that day but not offered in the large slices. That probably would have better suited for me. Angie's has quite a variety of offerings. But I was on a singleminded focus aimed at Ube. The location is in a strip shopping center on the west side Holland Road. It's hard to see coming from the north since the center has a backwards L shape with Angie's facing traffic coming from the south on Holland Road. Turn west on Northwood Drive then a right turn into the shopping center. You'll be immediately facing Angie's. Although it's a busy shop, I've never had a problem getting a parking space in front of the bakery. I love your Ube Pandesal Rolls Angie's Bakery. Returning will be a regular part of my life.

Yelp
This bakery has been my family's go to stop for pandesal and ensaymda for as long as I can remember. I even remember when it had a mini convenience store inside, where we would always buy spread for our pandesal! I'm happy to see the bakery expand their menu to offer a more diverse array of treats while keeping the original recipes for pandesal and ensaymda. Besides their pandesal and ensaymda, I recommend trying their ube flavored pastries and buko pandan flavored pastries. Excited to go back soon and finally try their drinks, which I have been meaning to try for a while :) Tip: Pay in cash if you're making a smaller purchase to avoid fees!

Yelp
This was my first time at Angie's Bakery. I coworker recommended I give them a try after I said I wanted to try pandesal. It's a cute bakery with very friendly staff and lots of options. I was overwhelmed with what to try, but settled on the ube croissant. It was absolutely delicious! My husband had the iced ube latte that he really enjoyed (he drank most of it before I could snap a pic). 5 STARS! I love a Filipino bakery and I love ube. And I MUST go back to try their pandesal and pepperoni bread!

Yelp
FOOD What a treat! I've been meaning to visit Angie's Bakery whenever I'm in Virginia Beach, and today I finally did. We tried the ube pandan cruffin, ube hopia, and ube macapuno bun. The ube pandan cruffin was soft, with an incredibly creamy ube filling that wasn't overly sweet. While I didn't pick up much pandan flavor, the ube filling was absolutely delightful. The ube hopia had a wonderfully flaky exterior and a dense, soft ube filling. It wasn't entirely my favorite, but if you enjoy mooncakes, this one is for you! The ube macapuno bun was a lovely surprise--light and fluffy bread filled with a creamy blend of ube, macapuno, and coconut. Definitely a winner! Can't wait to try their other items during our next visit! DRINKS They weren't exaggerating about their ube latte! I usually find ube lattes disappointing--they often taste like plain milk without the rich ube flavor I'm hoping for, and I leave underwhelmed. But this one? Hands down the best I've had. The ube flavor was rich, and the espresso complemented it wonderfully. A must-try if you're in the area! SERVICE The staff were warm and welcoming. While lines can form quickly, they handle orders efficiently to keep things moving. AMBIANCE 2-3 tables for two are available inside the store, but the setup is primarily geared toward grab-and-go. PARKING Parking is somewhat limited in the lot, but spots open up quickly given the grab-and-go nature of the store.

Yelp
A visit to Virginia Beach isn't complete without treats from Angie's Bakery. And we've added to our list of favorites...the Ube and Buko Pandan Croissants and Ube Cruffin! Ours were fresh, flaky, and delicious. Plus, they were so generous with the amount of filling. See my pics for our breakfast on the go plus goodies for home. Yelp
Wednesday 8/14/2024 I'm somewhat familiar with Filipino baked goods but I've never had it to this extent: different breads & pastries from the Filipino culture. The service was pretty solid. On my visit, I ended up getting ube bread $3.50, pan de coco $3.20, cinnamada $3.50, hopia ube $5.50, ube ensaymada $3.15, and a half dozen ube pandedal $3.45. - Ube bread * This is Filipino bread that is stuffed with ube filling and it was alright. - Pan de coco * This is Filipino bread that is stuffed with coconut and it really wasn't for me (I'm not a coconut enjoyer). - Cinnamada * This is a Filipino spin on the cinnamon roll and I was told that they even use the ensaymada dough/bread in the process. * The cinnamada was actually pretty good: it was very fluffy and airy and I could tell based on my first bite when I heard a pocket of air release. (Top 2 favorite of mine) - Hopia ube * This is similar to the ube bread but also different based on the smaller size and texture & taste of the bread. It was a miss for me as I wasn't a fan of the dough. - Ube ensayamda * I don't really know how to describe it very well but this one was pretty good. (Top 2 favorite of mine) - Ube pandesal * I'd describe these as Filipino yeast bread rolls that have a cool look to them due to the ube purple on the bread. * I almost missed this item as they weren't on display but instead were in the baking room. * They were fresh, warm, fluffy, and overall just good tasting bread. It's not sweet, just good bread that can be paired nicely with a breakfast meal for example. My experience at Angie's bakery was a pretty good one. Out of all the pastries I had I would rank them: ube ensaymada, cinnamada, ube pandesal, ube bread, pan de coco, and lastly the hopia ube. I would be open to returning to try more items and I would recommend the ube ensaymada, cinnamada, and ube pandesal.

Yelp
If 0.5 of a star is available or zero stars was available it would be more appropriate. The level of customer service by one of the staff (petite wearing bandanna) was not one would expect of a highly regarded place and one that has the prices they are charging. If management has question, feel free to reach out. I would rather not air this incident in this platform. Have a nice day.

Carmen S.

Yelp
I love this place. Ube is an acquired taste but being Cuban/Puerto Rican, we are used to it. The best I can compare it to is sweet potato but not as sweet or earthy. If you want to venture into this flavor profile? Start with the Ube latte from Angie's. It's amazing. I'm not a fan of Ube (lol) so I typically steer away from it. My family loves it. Our usual fare consists of baboys, pan de coco, ensaymada, siapao, and the lattes. I highly recommend these, the meat and/or cheese options are solid alternatives if you don't like ube. Service - a little slow but friendly and willing to answer questions if you aren't sure what's in the item. Ambiance - it's your typical bakery. No frills, takeout bakery, with a single table in case you want to sit while waiting. It's an open kitchen which is nice.

Yelp
Alright Angie's. I've returned several times since my last review and am impressed. Products, customer service, organization, processes and aesthetics have all improved and are fair. Not sure what's changed but y'all have won me over. All of the products I've tried thus far have been delicious staples I've eaten as a child that I don't have time to try and make at home. Great job Angie's! Keep doing what you're doing!

Andy G.

Yelp
Finally tried Angie's bakery! This isn't too far from my house so there's no excuse why it took so long. The employees were nice and helpful. I ordered the Hopia with the apple pie filling. It was okay, it was kinda dry. I had never had it before so I didn't know what to expect. Next time I will order something else, maybe some kind of bread? We've had items from Angie's bakery before at different events so I know their other products are phenomenal. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Ube everything. Ube Pandesal. Ube Ensaymada. Ube Bibingka. Ube Bread. Ube Latte. Ube Cheesecake. Just get it all! The mornings can be pretty busy since that's the best time to have some fresh bread. Note that if you want Ube Pandesal, you can't buy just one piece. They sell their pandesal by the half dozen and dozen. Seriously though, get the Ube Latte--you won't regret!
google avatar

Dona Bella P.

Yelp
Super cute place! Everything seemed fresh. I got some karioka, ube bread, ensemayda, polvoron, and an ube latte. I also was super excited to get Taho-- i haven't seen it anywhere around here. The staff was very kind and prompt to get my order. Definitely gotta come back and try more!

Yelp
I can't believe I've never left a review here. I've known Angie's all my life. And ever since their revamp, I've been more obsessed with the idea of stopping by whenever I am in town. From their ube latte to their ube hopia and leche flan/ube cake combo, I trust Angie's to be my ube plug!!! Also, walking into Angie's will always have that home-y feeling to me. I think it's just the fact that I'm back with my people so it makes me feel warm inside. Nothing but good vibes always in there! The only ube item that needs a little more love is their ube pandesal. I have a kape in Queens that does ube pandesal a way that I'd love to see Angie's do it. They put cheese in their pandesal as well as some kind of ube custard or filling? Not sure but it hits... and this is only my suggestion that I hope the owners see. Lol. Nonetheless, I cannot give Angie's anything less than 5-stars because again, I trust this kape with being my ube everything plug. The pandesal is a staple obviously! It is what started the biz. Every time we come, we get a dozen or 2. The matcha pandan latte always hits too! Here is a suggestion list for any newcomers to buy: - Ube latte - Matcha pandan latte - Ube hopia - Spanish bread - Dozen of pandesal - Ube bibingka - Leche flan/ube cake combo
google avatar

Jada G.

Yelp
Y'all. Let me start off and tell you this is the best matcha pandan latte I've ever had. I'm big on Filipino flavored things and this truly hit the spot. Usually I get a little disappointed when drinks LOOK good but the flavor doesn't come through as much. However this right here did NOT disappoint. I got this latte iced with oat milk and mixed it before drinking it. The pandan was the first thing I tasted, SO GOOD. What impressed me even more was the matcha flavor that came through right after, as matcha is more of a subtle flavor. The two existed together perfectly in harmony. The bakery itself is tucked away in a little spot just around the corner of the main street on Holland. There's always a line when I've visited so if you're eyeing something in the bakery, I'd go early! Although they do seem to be well-stocked. I only got the matcha panda latte today however the staff mentioned some of their favorite bakery items and other drinks like ube lattes. I'll definitely have to go back to try those :) I think next on my list is to try the ube bibinka! Will post an updated review upon my return! In the meantime, go visit!!!

Yelp
All of the pastries I tried were delicious! Such a cute shop! The counter workers were all friendly and helpful when helping me choose what to buy. Everything was so fresh! So many options - I will definitely be back to try some new ones and to get that pepperoni roll again, for sure! Check them out!

Yelp
Love me a family owned, local business. The people working were super welcoming and they even offered to heat up my ham & cheese bun. I am by no means a cheesecake critic and know nothing about what the perfect crust is made of or what texture of cheese it should have. However, I saw beautifully fresh fruit and instantly wanted the mini cheesecakes. What I do know for certain is that the cheesecakes are so good, I'm writing this while eating my third mini cheesecake in one sitting. Debating on eating a fourth.

Yelp
By far the best Ube Latte in the 757, Strong and Sweet. Staff is very nice and helpful. Lots of pastries to choose from.

Yelp
As I sit here and enjoy my breakfast of a toasted pandesal with cheese, I realize I have not done a review, shame on me! lol Saw their Facebook that they had a variet pack of Mamon and knew I needed to go. Mamon is a filipino sponge cake and they are one of my favorite filipino desserts. Went there this past Saturday (11/05/2022). The variety pack had the following flavors: Pandan, Mocha, Pina & Ube. I have never had Pandan before and was excited to try this flavor. I also got a half dozen Pandesal and a sweet bread roll stuffed with Ube & Coconut, I totally forgot the name of this item. The Pandesal was warm and fresh and of course once we got in the car, we had to have one...Mmmmm fresh warm Pandesal is everything! The mamon were good, wish they were a little bigger, otherwise I throughly enjoyed one each night this week. The Sweet bread roll with Ube & Coconut was good, that was a different for me. I toasted it in the toaster oven as I had it in the fridge. There was a good amount of Ube and the coconut reminded me of the coconut you put in Halo Halo, another filipino dessert. I highly recommend visiting this bakery especially for the fresh baked Pandesal. I need to go back and get some other filipino treats! Masarap!!

Yelp
We visited this local place yesterday. I lived here for many years, but didn't know it was there. You can bet we will remember where it is now! The staff member was a little quiet, but welcoming and polite. We decided to try a few things and share. The Ube Cruffin was AHHHHmazing! The cheese bread was also delicious with a sweet touch. We also tried the chocolate croissant was delicious as well. It is pretty much a small grab and go place, but the treats were devoured before we ever left the parking lot! I didn't get any pics because everything was gone too quickly.

Yelp
Angie's Bakery is a filipino panaderia located in Virginia Beach - they have various pastries, including pandesal, hopias, ensaymadas, rolls, etc. as well as coffee and lattes. I had their Ube Latte and a pan de hot dog (hot dog roll) - the Ube Latte was definitely the star, as it was rich, creamy, and had a wonderful ube taste - it was also served extra hot, which I totally loved! Came with a little latte art, which was a nice added touch. The pan de hot dog was okay - definitely more dough-heavy, but if you reheat it in the air fryer, it's a nice little snack. This place was packed to the gills! People calling in for orders, people coming in to pick up large orders, and those who were taking advantage of their limited seating to enjoy their treats and beverages. Your order does take a while due to the number of customers inside; however, everything is with a smile, and you can't help but feeling positive vibes. I'd love to try out their other pastries the next time I'm in town, but I'm definitely coming back for that Ube Latte! Plenty of parking in the strip plaza lot. +Ube Latte! +friendly service! +plenty of parking in strip plaza lot

Yelp
Who doesn't love hot buns right out of the oven??? This place is packed with people waiting for the next hot batch to come out. I become greedy and walk out with 2-3 dozen but reality hits when I get home and days later I don't have the same hot buns (20 sec microwave trick, but still not the same). We all know the saying if Asians eat there it's got to be a good Asian place? Well, this is one of those places. I buy random baked goods and never recall what I last purchased since it's all on a binge whim. Rarely do I regret anything I buy from this place. Today I went and get me the popular Ube latte. Cold. The young lady behind the counter there is always polite. Seeet and most importantly patient with me as I want together a lot of ever, but try to behave myself. The Ube latte was yummy. I tried to save some for the next day but by the time I got up my daughter managed to finish it off. Next time I'll have to buy 2.

Yelp
The sweets in this Filipino bakery are so disgusting and soooo waaaay overpriced that I'm never going back again. The girls in there are so rude. The worst part is that the girls stood there like no one was in the store that we waited for 15 minutes before they acknowledged our presence AND the store was full of people (the staff's friends) who were not waiting on customers but talking to their friends whilst the customers were waiting. I HAVE to give a star because it would not let me post but in reality I'm giving NO STARS to this store because of the very rude behaviour of the staff and the extremely exorbitant prices which they have a lot of nerve charging. I'm appalled at such behaviour by anyone really in the customer service departments of stores restaurants festivals etc. People need to teach their employees and children RESPECT.

Yelp
Without a doubt best bakery in town. Their items are always super fresh and delicious. They've added a lot of new items which I love. Their ube latte is AMAZING! My kids love their pepperoni bread the most. I grab their fresh pandesal for every occasion we have for my family and even just to have at home. The staff is wonderful and welcoming and I love that they have gotten a lot more attention and recognition. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you pay them a visit.

Yelp
Angie's Bakery has been go to Filipino Bakery here in Virginia Beach. My absolute must haves when I am here are their Pepperoni Bread, Ube pandesal, Chicken Siopao, Pork Siopao, and more recently their Chicken Empanadas. Also I love their Ube Lattes with Oat Milk. Definitely not watered down compared to other ube lattes i've tried. Definitely worth the try.

Yelp
Angie's Bakery is a Filipino bakery tucked away in a small strip of businesses on Holland. I was on my way back from an event by the Oceanfront and took the opportunity to make a quick pit stop before heading home. I have been eyeing their goodies on their Yelp page and recently saw the Ube Lattes on Instagram. The shop must have been recently renovated because it was very clean and new looking. It was a bit crowded inside and keep in mind, a bakery crowded at 4ish on a Sunday afternoon is a sign of success. I heard people were waiting for the freshly baked Pandesal and cheese breads. What's a few more minutes for freshly baked goods right out of the oven. It took awhile for me to be taken care of, with a few customers in front of me and the others who had already paid and waiting, so by the time it was my turn, the Pandesal had come out so I definitely got some of those and I managed to get a few other things. The display case wasn't really all that full, but keep in mind, this was 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, so I just need to go earlier next time! My haul included: Ube Pandesal - sold by 1/2 or full dozen, so I opted for 1/2 a dozen since this was my first go. I have heard Pandesal so many times and have never actually tried one. Why? No idea, but there is a first time for everything! They are a bright purple and came fresh out of the oven and so cheap! I think it was about $2-3?! Super soft and they keep for a few days. Just pop it in the microwave fo 15 seconds. They taste like a really good dinner roll. I was told by a few Filipino friends that Filipinos usually eat them for breakfast with either butter, a slice of cheese or even liver paté. Chicken/Pork/Coconut/Ube breads - these were the similar pandesal dough but with these individual fillings! They were so good! The chicken and pork were large chunks and had a sweeter taste to them. The coconut was not my fave though, but honestly, I don't really like shredded coconut, but I was just curious and you just have to try new things (or keep trying). The Ube was my fave. It reminded me of the Korean steamed bun with the ppat (the red bean) filling. The filling was a similar texture and the ube was slightly sweet. Super delicious! Bibingka - Ok, so to my Filipino friends, why have you been holding out on me with these Bibingkas?! I LOVED LOVED LOVED this cake. I looked up recipes and it looks like they are rice flour based cooked with coconut milk ( I have no problems with coconut milk, it's just the shreds that are funky to me), but this cake was bouncy and dense and had some really good chunks of cream cheese that had baked and then solidified again to add some texture to the bite. I should get a whole cake/pie next time! Ube Ensaymada - Another fave discovery! This is a large (size of my hand) sweet bread type of bun with ube mixed into it for a marble effect, but it is distinguished by the butter and straight up white sugar sprinkled on top (ok, maybe more like dipped). I was told days after I had already eaten it that I should have warmed it up so the butter melts on top! Ugh, next time. Obvi, this was a pretty good haul, so I ate these items during the course of a few days, but if you want to heat anything up, 15 seconds in the microwave will do the trick. Unfortunately, I did not get the Ube latte which was one of the purposes of my visit, but it was just too busy and it looked like only one person made them and plus, it was also late in the afternoon. As soon as I paid though, a customer who had been waiting got her THREE ube lattes and of course, I immediately regretted it! I'll just have to go back! Notes for my next visit: try their pepp and/or cheese breads, Ube Bibingkas (they were out last time) and definitely that Ube Latte! Get your carb fix here and stay safe, Friends!

Yelp
Diamond in the rough. I found this place because I looked up on Yelp "Filipino Bakery," and voila! LOCATION: You'd never guess this was here. This place is unassuming and super simple. There's no seating inside, it's just grab n' go. FOOD: I ordered the ube ensaymada, the pan de coco, pandan bread, and two savory pastries. They have so many options and they are all freshly made; you can taste them when you bite into them :P SERVICE: You feel like you are family when they talk to you. I love a place like this. They care so much about their products and love seeing people enjoy them. Will I come back? YEAH! I drove 25 minutes (all the way from Norfolk) to try this bread.

Yelp
It's all true! The positive reviews were on point. At exactly 9:00am they opened the doors for the the small line waiting outside. Most people came in to order fresh hot dozens of pan de sal. The place smelled of fresh baked goods. Staff was super friendly and most accommodating. The vibe was cheerful. I came a long way and wanted to try everything that was mentioned in the reviews. We started with the hotdog roll, the pork siopao and a couple of mini ensaymada. Since everything was fresh out of the oven-the hotdog and siopao were nice and hot. The meat was super delicious and stuff plenty good in their soft bread wraps. I also had a chicken empanada about an hour later. The flaky crust engulfed the chicken breast and veggies. Again super tasty and I think this was baked. Get the mini ensaymada, they come in a 12 pack. They are a pretty good size. For my to-go bags: pan de sal, pizza rolls, more siopao, mini ensaymadas, ube and macapuno breads and cheese roll. Can't wait to see how they keep for a day or so. The line moved quickly. They are super organized and attentive. So worth my trip. I will be returning when I travel between the OBX and the DC area. Kudos to this small business! They know how to do it right! Can't wait to return.

Yelp
My friend and I were very excited to try this place out. We ordered, Chicken Empanadas and they are very good meaty. Ube Cheecake, it was disappointing because it had no taste it was bland. Pork Siopao, it tasted sour and I ate a little bit of it. After few minutes I had a stomachache. So it's a no no for me. Ube Flan Cake, that was amazing, taste a little bit of lemon. Ube Latte, this is really strong and it's a good thing. Better than California Ube Latte Overall, the place was clean and neat. The staffs are friendly. I'll come back whenever I visit Virginia and try other things.

Yelp
The best bakery in Virginia Beach! My all time favorite is their pandesal. A taste of home! They also have choices of coffee latte and cappuccino (barely new) If you're here to visit, it's a must!

Yelp
We stopped by Angie's bakery to try some goodies. When we arrived there was a line. We hopped in line and waited and waited and waited... Lol. Seeing only 3 or 4 people ahead of us, i didn't expect a 15-20 minute wait. I thought it would move pretty quickly. But i was sadly mistaken. So we looked to see what they had while standing there. They have different breads, desserts, coffee, and etc. It was finally our turn and we ordered the hot dog bun, chicken siopao, and pepperoni bread.. The prices were ok. It cost about $10 for everything. The pepperoni bread tasted ok. It was kinda dry. I wish they put sauce in it, i know it normally only has cheese and pepperoni, but sauce would surely change the game... But i did like it. The hot dog roll was pretty hard and the hot dog just kinda slid out the bun. Lol. It was a lotta bread with a little hot dog. If they added cheese it would be so much better. The chicken siopao was ok, the flavor was alright... I'd like to try the pepperoni bread again, it was the best out of everything i had. I will return to see if i like other things on the menu. Check them out!!!

Yelp
Love this Filipino bakery. I usually get half a dozen Pandesal. They are usually hot when I get them. When I get into my car it smells sooooo good. I cannot resist eating one before I drive out of the parking lot. When you pull it apart steam comes out of it .It is that fresh. I have taken all kinds of items from here to my in-laws and they are wild over Angie's. I get one of everything to try it all. Everything has been great. Customer service is good and it is a small bakery but such a nice shop. Honestly you could get anything and it will be good. I have stopped by for a quick Pizza bun and it made me smile. It was a nice fast lunch for me that day. One thing for me was that I got the cinnamon twist and I could not taste any cinnamon on it and I bought 4 . It was not just the one it was all 4. I took them to my parents and they could not taste any cinnamon either. That is fine we just sprinkled some cinnamon on them. They were still delicious. But next time Im just getting the plain sugar twist they are less money and I can just put my own cinnamon on them.

Yelp
I'll be dreaming of warm, fluffy pandesal from here for weeks! We left with a dozen pandesal and only 10 ended up leaving the parking lot- we couldn't wait to eat two when we got to the car! I also had the raspberry ensaymada was delicious. Fluffy, sugary and the perfect amount of raspberry jam! We also got the pepperoni bread, which was very good (but would be better warmed). The line was to the door, but moved quickly. The staff was very nice and patient. Good signage on everything to help know what each item was. Definitely stop by if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed !

Yelp
Friend told me to try this bakery. I thought it was bigger but it was not . Not a place for big group . My dessert and coffee was yummy. The ube latte was little too sweet for me but it tasted great ! People who work there were really nice. Place was busy when I went in .

Yelp
I'd heard so many great things about Angie's bakery and now that I have moved closer to it, I decided to drop by to grab a coffee and a little treat for myself. I just had to try the Ubé latte. I love ALL things Ubé. It did not disappoint! There were so many baked goods to choose from, but one of the gentlemen working suggested the hopia. I picked pineapple. They were so flaky and delicious, I was craving more lol I can't wait to come back and try something different!

Yelp
My girlfriend gets a cheese roll every time we come. They are never consistent in the amount of cheese filling (obviously minor variance is normal but some times there's literally hardly any and other times there's tons). It can be a bummer with ordering the same item about one-three times a month and never knowing how it's going to be this time. When it's good it's GOOD, but when it's just meh, it's such a disappointment. On a more positive note, the Ube Latte with oatmilk (+$1 charge for non-dairy alternative) was amazing and beautiful. Now those are consistently delicious. Highly recommend. The Mini Ensaymadas were delicious and a great price as always. Less than $5 for 12 of those delicious little things.

Yelp
Angie's Bakery is easily one of the best Filipino bakeries in the Hampton Roads area! Their stuff is so fresh, everything is made fresh in house, and their prices are appropriate and not too expensive. My first time here was on Father's Day. My friend's and his neighbors were having a Father's Day pot luck, and me being lazy, I decided to get some pastries and bread for everyone to enjoy. That morning, I had decided to call a few hours ahead of time and place an order for pickup, because I anticipated a longer than usual wait time if I just went to the bakery and waiting on line. And I'm so glad that I did just that; when I pulled up, there were at least 15 cars in the parking lot and a winding line just waiting for their pastries.. That's insane! I remember I had ordered a bag of mini-ensaymada, 1 pepperoni bread, 5 ube pandesal, 2 rolls of ube hopia, 5 pan de coco, and 2 pineapple ensaymada. When I arrived, my food was ready for pickup. So I skipped everyone on line and went to pay for my pastries..LOL I tried a little of everything but I have to say my favorites were the ube pandesal and the ube hopia! The ube hopias were sooo good! Consistency-wise and the outside being all flaky, it reminded me of those flaky Chinese moon cakes with the meat filling! At the potluck, when some of the Filipino neighbors recognized my stuff from Angie's right away! Lol Despite Covid, I can see Angie's is still going strong and thank goodness for that! I loved how everything is made fresh in house. Inside seems to be very clean and well maintained. And customer service was very warm and inviting despite the place being so busy. You can see the staff behind the counter rushing around to get orders. I can totally see this place being my go-to for traditional Filipino sweets and breads! If you haven't had the chance to try Angie's Bakery, I highly recommend you do! You won't be dissapointed! :D

Yelp
We went here this past weekend and I'm so happy we did! I'm newer to the area and miss my strong Filipino roots back in Texas. Being able to go here and get my Pan De Coco, Ensaymada, and Hopia just made my day. Pan De Coco was my favorite and they warmed it up for me (love that!!). I can't wait to go back and try the Mung Bean Hopia and Ube Latte next and my husband loved the ham and cheese roll they had, bread is so soft! Highly recommend and customer service is 10 out of 10!
