The items on the menu, especially the seafood, was good quality and delicious. The staff members were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our meal. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for Cambodian style food. My only recommendation is to step away from using too much sweet based sauces to let the meat and veges speak for themselves.

Google
I will start by saying that the 2 waitresses that were hosting and waiting tables by themselves on a busy night were really trying their best, and I really appreciate the service despite the longer wait times. Unfortunately, the food was some of the most unfortunate tasting Asian food I've ever had. I was feeling extremely blessed that I didn't get food poisoning later that night. 3 stars because there was good intent here 🥲

Google
This restaurant was a delight, and a surprise to find in rural Vermont. From the moment we stepped in we could smell the spices all around. Everything we ordered was a delicious combination of sweet and spicy (about a light medium on spice level for the dishes we ate). The curry noodle soup had a delightfully rich and complex broth, and nice thick noodles with a chew. The servers were all extremely friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I am so glad we stopped at this place!

Google
We had the Khiteau, Cambodian beef noodle soup and the lemongrass pork. The food was spectacular- the flavors so fresh and aromatic. One of the best meals we’ve had on this trip to New England. Highly recommend if you’re in Woodstock, VT

Google
Great option in central Vermont. Some of the vegetables seemed, maybe, a little past there prime but everything was nicely flavored. Wish the portion size was a little bigger for the price. Friendly service though out the meal. Not crazy about the choice of noodle, seemed soft, overcooked and very American.

Google
I ordered the beef chowfoon, I wasn’t expecting the taste, very unique but delicious! Also ordered the spicy maple chicken wings, because why not, I’m in Vermont. Get the large! You’ll want more! They were some of the best wings I’ve ever had, very crispy, flavorful glaze.

Google
It was a cold and rainy night when we arrived. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The service was outstanding and the meals were delicious! There were nine of us and we had a large menu of items to choose from.

Google
Service took a while but if you are in a rush having dinner in Woodstock VT, I don’t really know what to say. The food was exceptional, very flavorful with a rich sauce. I got the Beef Chow Foon and my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Yelp
this is a must while you are in Woodstock, VT or nearby! the food is fabulous, fresh delicious and just frankly exceptional. Krista & Kathy were so attentive in all aspects of serving and caring about what you needed or wanted, well above the the top! it is obvious the owner & staff really care about your needs. If you like curries, try the green curry; spicy and well on point. Best green curry I have had and coming from VT; frankly shocked it was delicious. Did i mention I am originally from NYC; I know & love great food! this is by far a place not to miss. its all about the food, restaurant is very but certainly "no frills" when the food is that fabulous who cares? thank you again best, Kim from Cape Cod

Michael H.

Yelp
Food was great! Had the drunken noodles which had a very good taste and spice level. The service was spot and as the servers were super friendly and supportive to help pick what I would like on menu. Would come here again!

Yelp
When we walk in at 5pm on Sat, we were told they only take reservations and they don't take walk ins. So we have to order take out. They charge white rice for $6 where other places charges $2. Food is not very good and the pad Thai tastes like plain noodles. Won't come again.

John S.

Yelp
We ordered coconut shrimp, lemongrass chicken and the pork shank. They mistakenly bagged spring rolls instead of the shrimp, so we had to make an extra trip and let the food geta little cool. No effort at an accommodation for that, which is disappointing. The pork shank was bagged in a plastic quart soup container that made it impossible to retain any crust on the shank if ever there had been any. The meat was mostly overcooked and rubbery, with no semblance of the luscious richness pork promises. Seems like it had been booked rather than braised or roasted. To add to the disappointment, the advertised vegetables consisted of two green beans, 1 shoot of brocollini (not sure why) and a few slices of carrot. The soupy broth was flavorful, though The lemongrass chicken consisted of a pounded chicken breast that had been breaded and fried until dry. Some pieces were hard to chew. That sat atop some flavorful noodles, though. The only thing we liked were the coconut shrimp. Overall, a spot we'll be sure to avoid in the future. No semblance to Cambodia cuisine. Angora Wat is a temple, a shrine. This meal was blashphemy.

Cassandra S.

Yelp
I will start with the good. Service was absolutely great and quick. The crab Rangoon, dumplings and chicken wjngs deserve a chef's kiss! The summer roll was ok. The thai iced tea was very watered down but still decent. The 4 of us did not like the pad Thai. The noodles seemed under cooked and the flavor was very much not there. The Noodle soup did not taste like any Kathieu I have had cooked for me by my in laws or at any Cambodian restaurant we have been to. It tasted more like a pack of noodles you buy at the Asian market.

Aaron Z.

Yelp
Well it must be peeping season because the place was packed with visitors who came to see the fall colors. The women that work at the restaurant are extremely friendly and helpful but there's no real place to wait Reserve ahead during peeping season. We waited 40 minutes today for a table. The menu is fairly typical . we tried the vegetarian dumplings, they were pre-frozen and doughy, I would not recommend them & the accompanying sauce was tepid and thin. We both got noodle dishes ,mine were drunken noodles with vegetables tofu and an egg on top. The amount of vegetables in this dish was embarrassingly little ...three little crowns of broccoli and ten slivers of onion I think I counted to two slices of zucchini , tofu cubes and noodles ..,that's it for 18 bucks . Not cool. My partner got some of the same noodles with chicken and again there was almost no vegetables in the dish as the menu had promised. Also talked about kfir lime which was not at all evident in the taste. We were dissappointed on many counts. I guess you can get away with this kind of cooking out in the back country of Vermont , not to sound too snooty but honestly, the chef would really need to up his game to get respect back in the bay area.

Yelp
I ate at this wonderful restaurant when I visited Woodstock. The food was very fresh, creative & tasty. The menu has a very good selection of different dishes for every pallet. I also love that this is a family owned restaurant. Chy, who is Cambodian, makes the delicious food, and his wife Monica, does the serving, is super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend it!

Louella D.

Yelp
KInd of plain and boring. No bursting flavors. WE asked for spicy and it was just the usual. The waitress said she was new. Shrimp was kind of smelly. We did go in late in the evening. Overall okay. Nothing great.

Jenn R.

Yelp
Visiting Woodstock for our anniversary and we were craving flavorful food. Angkor Wat exceeded our expectations. The fresh crisp veggies, the noodles at just the right consistency, the full bodied flavorful broths made our mouths tingle with both heat and flavor. We had: chicken dumplings, Thai rolls (the lettuce tasted garden fresh & shrimp were firm and flavorful!), Cambodian chicken Khmer curry soup and Cambodian beef Luk Lok. Everything was full bodied on flavor and we felt so grateful we had this restaurant as an option for a take out anniversary dinner! It's important to note that Angkor Wat practiced excellent Coronavirus Courtesy with their efficient curb side pick up. We wish Chef Chy & staff resilience and wisdom as they navigate the ever changing circumstances of running a restaurant during the pandemic. Thank you all for the goodness you cooked up for us !

Yelp
The food was excellent--fresh and flavorful--and the cake (raspberry) was an unexpected treat. My 10-year-old daughter couldn't get enough. ("It's just so delicious!") I don't usually love cake but I agree it's one of the best I've eaten. We just did takeout but the service was very friendly.

Liz A.

Yelp
Dined at this restaurant just a couple of nights ago. The staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered an appetizer, two entries, and a fried rice. The spring roll appetizer was delicious and fresh. The entrees were flavorful but the beef in the ginger beef was very tough. Not expected since every Thai restaurant we've been to has very tender, thin sliced beef. The fried rice was average, seemed a lot like Trader Joe's fried rice. We ended up paying $80 which is pretty expensive considering we didn't have dessert.

Toni R.

Yelp
Some of their dishes are excellent; others not-so. The beef morsels are tough-as-nails and unchewable! Friendly ambiance, very nice people, but the food is sometimes meh.

Sophie G.

Yelp
So sad to see these negative reviews. My husband and I cannot relate!!! Some of the best, if not THE best Thai I've ever had. We both got curried noodles which were FANTASTIC. It might be because we did take out and we're running late so the noodles sat in the curry for probably 30 min before eating. I think it made it even better because the noodles soaked up all the curry - SO GOOD!!! We also got veggie spring rolls which were on the oily side, but always delicious. Wondering customer service as well. We will be back whenever we're in Woodstock!

Marco A.

Yelp
Crystal was awesome we had a big party and she went above and beyond to make sure we were good. I had the Pork noodles and they were GOOD. THANKS CRYSTAL!

Steven D.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, and an unusual cuisine to find in Vermont - I don't think I've ever had Cambodian food before. An all-around wonderful experience.

Terry S.

Yelp
When I ordered the Khmer soup the very attentive, polite and knowledgeable server said that it was normally spicy but I could get it with less spice. Having been in Cambodia decades earlier, I remembered the wonderfully aromatic and spicy dishes there and asked for the full spice version. About 10 minutes later this beautiful large bowl of steaming hot soup arrived at my table. It looked very much like what I had remembered and dug-in. I noticed that the color was quite pale compared to the reddish broth I thought it would be. I tasted about a half tablespoon of the broth expecting a spicy punch. Instead, it was very light with a hint of chicken and vegetables with little if any spice, let alone "punch." I continued to eat it putting aside the expectations of what I thought it would be and it was delicious. The chicken was fully cooked breast meat but was incredibly tender while maintaining its texture. The vegetables tasted like they were just picked and cooked only long enough to not be raw. The snap peas were crisp and sweet. Noodles were perfect. Bottom line: It was not the "big" flavors, aromas and sweat-inducing heat that I had expected. Instead, it was a delicious bowl of perfectly cooked freshness and delicacy that I will return to when I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
We've been going back once a month since mask mandates were dropped. Thumbs up for the chef's special (spicy) and drunken noodles. We got desert for the first time. I didn't realize they made them in house. The carrot cake and mango/coconut cheesecake were great. Previously we'd go for ice cream or to the Farmers Market for desert, not anymore. Appetizer, two entrees, two deserts, tax and tip... under $70! Bring your own beer and wine is awesome.

Can I.

Yelp
The staff is nice and friendly. You can bring your own wine. As for the food, I highly recommend the appetizers, they tasted quite good. Several of them together would be a good lunch or dinner. I did not enjoy the main dish, which was disappointing.

Jared B.

Yelp
This place was so awesome. Never had Cambodian food and this was a treat. I had it the curry Cambodian soup and asked for it extra spicy.. be fore warned if you ask for it extra spicy it'll blow your face off. My companion had the crispy beef and it was also very very good. It has a very interesting spice rub to it. Kinda like cinnamon and cardamom. Our service was also excellent!

Moe B.

Yelp
Who to believe..all the glowing reviews or the reviews that rake the place over the coals? Truth be told, Angor Wat falls in the middle. It's ok. Not great. Not bad. Just ok. The crispy steak was served on a bed of soft over cooked noodles. The vegetables were crisp and done properly but far too stingy an amount for my taste. The steak was flavorful but tough and the "crispy" was just a coating of something that did the meat no favors. Maybe try the place again. Maybe not. I'm in the middle.

Ellen M.

Yelp
If you go here, stick to Cambodian food. Two of us had pad thai that was just plain bad, without flavor, not even salt. But one of us had the Cambodian noodle soup that was very flavorful, fresh and enjoyable. So 4 stars for soup and 0 for the pad thai. Average of 2.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Not impressed my the quality of the food for this price point. I would consider heading into Hanover/Leb for Thai food

Noah R.

Yelp
Angor Wat has got to be my favorate local restoraunt when I have that craving for some amazing ethnic cuisine!!! The Pad Thai is the best you will ever have. The app appetizers are most mouth wattering. Spicy maple chicken wings make the most delicious vermont infusion. If you like coconut then you Must try the Almond coconut crusted shrimp. This dish is the most comforting, and makes a perfect topping to any dish. To end my meal there's only one dish I can't resist...the mange coconut crusted cheese cake. This dish is out of the world and must be savered with each amazjng, bursting bite. Don't bee to gready it's the perfect portion for you alone or on a cute date. A little bite will make the next so much better. Don't pass up your oppratunity to have one of the upper valleys single best culinary expierence you can get especially being directly located on route 4 in woodstock, vt!!!

Dan S.

Yelp
Khmer Curry Chicken Soup was not bad. I ordered the quail appetizer which tasted worse than a Tyson chicken wing that sat on the floor for a year at a low-end Chinese takeout joint. The sirloin special was passable however it was served nearly raw. We were the first two patrons of the day. The server was slow, unfriendly, not knowledgeable about the cuisine, and the chef never came out to apologize for the mess he served. The parking lot is poorly organized and during Vermont's mud season, a mess. We waited 3 hours in Woodstock for this place to open at 4:00. We were so excited to try Cambodian food. We wont be back!

Kay E.

Yelp
My hubs and I came across this gem on our honeymoon 2 years ago as we were driving through Woodstock on a scenic drive. Being Cambodian I was super stoked to find a Cambodian restaurant in the middle of such a small town in the middle of VT! Since they were not going to be open for several more hours (only 4-9 for dinner) we drove out to Rutland to kill some time before returning. Hubs had the Crispy Cambodian Steak and raved about it being the best ever every time he had another steak and reminded me how I should have asked for the recipe before we left... Fast forward two years later we decided to road trip 280mi back for Angkor Wat over the long weekend. To his delight his steak was exactly as he remembered and Chef Chy was generous enough to share his recipe and cooking technique with me to recreate at home! I had the Spicy Khmer Curry with Tofu which reminded me of what my mom used to make. Since we made the trip special for Angkor Wat we returned the following night for our final meal... Crispy Ginger Fish and Beef Lok Lok, both amazing dishes with super fresh ingredients. Chef Chy stresses the importance of fresh never frozen ingredients in all his dishes and never stir fry's with oil... Just water! We had to order the fish the night before since he has his fish freshly delivered from Boston the morning of. Extremely friendly (family run) restaurant staff and deliciously flavorful food. Take it from a Cambodian (and don't listen to the reviewers below) the Khmer dishes are very similar to what my mom made growing up. Chef Chy had to make some small changes in ingredients to accommodate the different pallets of the locals and for what he can find locally in the middle of nowhere VT. The flavor train stops here people... You should too

Alex H.

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant we were bit thrown off by the atmosphere, but once we got our food, we were blown away. Great flavors, tons of options, and nice staff.

Zhung Kai L.

Yelp
Sad to have a negative review but my family and I had really poor food here after a great day hiking in the area. While we're spoiled Boston area Asian food enthusiasts I don't think we're overly critical. Ordered a pad thai, cold beef salad and a yellow curry with duck with mango rice custard and the only dish passable was the cold beef salad. The noodles in the 2 entrees were identical and without the curry I think they were prepared identically Bland flavors, wack noodles, inauthentic and a great disappointment.

David H.

Yelp
Genuinely excellent food -- and genuinely interesting. You can get the mainstream Thai dishes here, but you can also get things you've never had before unless you've been to Cambodia. I had lamb with vegetables and ginger -- superb. I also had a huge bowl of Chicken Rice soup. I know: it sounds simple and boring, doesn't it? But it wasn't: the flavors were amazing, it was full of real handle-cut chicken breast and crisp fresh vegetables, and the seasoning was something I've never had -- but I will definitely order it again. Nice people, too. Definitely check it out.

Alisha S.

Yelp
The food was just ok, and that's being a bit generous. We ordered take out after a long day of hiking - Sesame Chicken Stir Fry and Pad Thai. If you were expecting anything close to what you normally receive if you order items like this from other restaurants you will be sorely disappointed. The sesame chicken came as soup in the container, with sesame seeds thrown in. There was little flavor in the whole dish, other than the fresh vegetables. My wife got the pad thai, and she ate only a few bites of it, opting to eat are spring rolls instead. She said "it is not Pad Thai, there's no taste". The spring rolls, while not stuffed very full, were decent. The vegetables were very fresh, as the chef has touted, and the staff seemed friendly. Unfortunately, I won't be going back.

Art S.

Yelp
Late on a saturday evening and most everything else was closed (or full). We'd been wanting to try Angkor Was for years. They had an open booth but limited staff. That being said... The service was polite and rapid. The food (lemon grass stir fry with tofu for the wife, Green curry noodles with shrimp for me) were really as good as it gets- the veggies were cooked to perfection, noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauces were "lick the plate clean". The Thai iced coffee and iced tea were spot on, and even though we both took 'take out boxes', we tried the carrot cake. I never knew carrot cake was a Cambodian specialty, but hey! This was light, no heavy cream cheese frosting ( a light caramel(?) glaze) and just great. Complaints: place was a bit stuffy on a warm evening, ice water came sans ice. We waited over ten years to go to Angkor Wat; it certainly won't be anywhere near than long to the next visit. Had nice chat with Chef Chy after the meal and now I want to eat the whole menu.

Phil C.

Yelp
Very tasty Cambodian food and a variety of other Asian dishes. All made with good fresh ingredients and made to order. The Khmer soup was very good and the beef Luk Lok was also tasty. Both had too much sugar for my tastes so I would ask for them with less next time. BYOB!

Laura K.

Yelp
Delicious!! Everything was fresh, piping hot (a lost art in restaurants these days) and nutritious! Our waitress was incredibly helpful, I'm a vegan so I can sometimes be a pain in the neck to wait on ‍ but she was patient and checked with the chef on all of my questions. BYOB is also super fun because it makes a night out more affordable, and you'll always like the wine! I got mixed vegetables with brown rice and tofu, and my husband got drunken noodles with chicken. We would definitely go back there, and liked it more than the overpriced restaurant we went to on our second night in Woodstock.

Liz B.

Yelp
Definitely a nice change from the pub food we've been eating. Great vegetarian options, everything tasted good. I've never had Cambodian food before so it's hard for me to compare but we enjoyed our meal. I'm guessing the negative reviews are from customers not having experience with different types of Asian foods. The waitstaff was very helpful and nice. I'm giving four stars because it's quite expensive for Asian food (I realize it's tough to make a living serving quality food), five for food and service. Easy parking in their back lot. The kitchen stops taking new orders at 8:30 pm so plan accordingly.

Erin B.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! Every time we come to Woodstock we go and dine here! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! The food is delicious... never a bad meal! The owners are very friendly! Keep up the good work!

Antonia H.

Yelp
OMG! This food is to die for. I never post reviews, but felt I had to this time. The most fresh and delicious Asian style food I have ever eaten!! You MUST GO when in Woodstock, VT....

VT Blue L.

Yelp
Wow, this place is FANTASTIC. We had the yellow curry with vegetables, and the chef's special of red snapper, veggies and noodles...both were top-notch. And, contrary to another review I read, the veggies were perfectly cooked -- most people are used to soggy/over-cooked veggies...these were local, fresh and beautifully prepared, with a bit of a "snap." Also, the yellow curry was spot-on in terms of being mildly spicy; again, not sure what another reviewer was thinking/expecting. My red snapper special was definitely fresh, cooked beautifully (NOT over-cooked), and mixed with a mild but flavorful sauce that went perfectly with the veggies and noodles. Lastly, there IS air-conditioning and our server was terrific: knowledgeable about the menu and how each dish was prepared. Definitely go if you can and just remember they are BYOB for beer, wine, etc.

Arturo R.

Yelp
This is my favorite place in Woodstock. The cured beef salad is a must and the specials are always creative and delicious. The produce and quality of the proteins is amazing... a lot of it being locally sourced. I think the reviews knocking the place are from people that are expecting MSG-laden $5 Asian takeout, which this is not. The food is fresh, high quality and delicious. The service is impeccable. The owners personally arranged a large family dinner for my nephews graduation.

Jeffrey Z.

Yelp
I have been living in the Upper Valley for 30 years. I have seen many Asian restaurants open and fail, and some for the right and some unfortunate reasons. This place has been on my list of things "To Do" for quite some time now. Last night was the time to actually go. I have read all of the other critiques from locals and finicky tourists from all over the world. I can only trust my own experience in order to form an opinion. (Some folks simply cannot be satisfied) This restaurant is relatively small. It's very clean inside. That's EVERYWHERE inside. Tables are tables. I don't require 3rd dynasty carved and inlaid table to eat. All I want is something flat, clean, and no wobbling. Perfect! The chairs were comfortable, and the atmosphere is simply Thai, Southeast Asia. It was "nice". My compliments to whomever it was that decided on the music playing in the background. It too was regional Asian. Very tasteful and never offensive. The waitstaff were quick to seat us, and answer our questions on the menu choices. Kept our water glasses filled, and were consistently pleasant throughout our stay. The Menu is limited, but the chef's recommendations change with the seasons, utilizing what is available fresh and locally. They serve no alcohol but encourage people to bring their own bottle. (Excellent deal!) Our choices were; The coconut shrimp and a couple of Summer rolls to start. Our entree's were; the calamari special, and the mussel special. They allow you to pick the level of spiciness in each dish if you like, or omit it all together. GREAT! I could have mine at a level 3 (spicy!) My wife chose not to go there, and had her's as prepared. I absolutely love the heat. It was spicy, but not prohibitively so. Very nicely done and allowed the flavors of the dish to ring through. My wife's squid was cooked to perfection. Not a hint of rubberiness. My mussels were fresh, and also cooked very well. Every shell had a meat in it. If it didn't, I found it in the plate somewhere. The noodles were cooked perfectly. (al dente') my coconut shrimp were also quite delicious, as were the fresher than fresh summer rolls. Desert were also impressive. My wife had a chocolate Spring Roll, and I had the mango/ coconut cheese cake. All i wanted after we finished was to try more things from the menu! Nothing was over or under seasoned. Unlike most asian food, the chef was very sparing with the salt, if he used it at all! (Very important detail for those of us with heart failure) This was one of our best dining experiences since we moved to Vermont. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Pleasant, pleasant, pleasant. And very well executed. We WILL most certainly be going back! Again and again.

Erin B.

Yelp
This is a great choice in Woodstock for dinner. It's BYOB, which is great if you're trying to get lit for less, and the food is consistently good. The chicken wings are particularly good and the carrot cake is amazing. For entrees the curry is good, as is the beef and broccoli. One note though, there is only one chef so the kitchen can get slow when super busy (which has only been a problem for us once when the Grand Prix was at Killington).

Taylor G.

Yelp
Great find in Woodstock!! We came here because they have vegan options. The server was very helpful with that and just in general. The pad Thai as a vegan option was wonderful as well as the summer and Thai rolls!

Michelle W.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place, but came out disappointed. We went on a heat wave (about 90 degrees outside) and sadly this place was not air conditioned. The staff was the best part of the experience. So kind, patient, helpful, and attentive. We ordered crab rangoons and pork spring rolls for appetizers. I thought the pork spring rolls were OK; they were quite bland. I did, however, enjoy the crab rangoon. My boyfriend ordered the duck drunken noodles and I ordered the yellow curry stir fry with pork. I was dissapointed in my dish. My curry was not spicy at all and my vegetables were way undercooked. I did enjoy my pork though. My boyfriend agreed with his plate, too, where he loved the meat, but thought his vegetables were undercooked. I did enjoy how fresh the plate was, but did wish it was spicier and cooked more. Also, they had no bubble tea, which is something I usually enjoy with this type of cuisine. Lastly, this food was not soft on my stomach and both my boyfriend and I feel queasy both that night and the day after.

Phillip S.

Yelp
The food, atmosphere and hospitality were amazing! Amy and Chef Chy were super friendly and welcoming, food was absolutely delicious. Definitely will become a regular customer here

Paige S.

Yelp
Been here about ten times over the last few years. Every single time my husband and I wonder why we don't make the trip more often. The food is so incredibly fresh and the flavors are just insanely good. I highly recommend the summer rolls, the yellow curry and the cheesecake - but we've never had a single thing we didn't like.

John L.

Yelp
Love this place. The Khmer beef salad is one of a kind. Such a gem in the upper valley. Fresh, bright, wonderful food; friendly service. Makes me love the area for its rich culinary offerings.

Cecilia W.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and fresh! Nice crisp spring rolls! And the Crispy Cambodian Beef with lo mein was really good! Our server was very pleasant and prompt. When we arrived we asked for a window table and the hostess that seated us (not our server) told us those tables were reserved for parties of 4. Really? There were 5 guests in the entire restaurant, no one else came in while we were there, and we couldn't sit by the window for guests that weren't even there? And a $5 up charge for sharing? Seemed excessive seeing as how we ordered 2 appetizers.

Sue J.

Yelp
I chose a Cambodian entree as I've never had the opportunity to try that type of cuisine before. So delicious, just layers of complex flavors. Highly recommend!

Richard V.

Yelp
I came here recently with a group of six. We called ahead to make sure we had a table. The hostess was setting up our table when we go there so we were seated right away. The staff was very helpful and the place was very clean. I had the noodle soup which was amazing. We all shared the egg roll appet3as well as the muscles. The muscles were amazing and the egg rolls were just ok. Everyone enjoyed their food except one of my friends had the crispy steak and said it was way over cooked. I didn't try it. Great place excellent people, worthy of your business

Heide S.

Yelp
We ordered Pad Thai. It was very bland and soupy and didn't taste like Thai food at all. Hot sauce and salt didn't help. With the email receipt came a request for a review, so we let them know what we thought of their food. The response: "Chef Chy's Pad Thai, sometimes confused with traditional Pad Thai, is made without oil or fish sauce and therefore is healthier and has less flavor. Sorry you didn't like it." Needless to say, we won't go back. We like traditional Pad Thai.

Mary F.

Yelp
The staff was friendly and welcoming. They let you sit wherever you want. A popular dish here is the appetizer crab rangoon. A lot of people just come to try that. I like that the food has a unique flavor profile. The chef uses fusion in their style of cooking. Vermont is known for the maple syrup. The maple cheese cake is so good here.

Daisy K.

Yelp
My experience of the service, from the kitchen to the floor, brings me to rate this gem a full-hearted 5-stars for EXCELLENT quality!! This is the place to go for real food. Real food handled with soul & pleasure. The chef has a deep understanding of how to cultivate a palate. He knows to how to balance the cut of cilantro with the richness of a pork loin. He knows how to tender the chicken till it's positively oozing with red curry broth. He knows how to cook & wants to share with Vermont the JOY, BEAUTY, & MEANING of what the rest of the world considers to be central to their quality of life -- GOOD TASTING FOOD. RICH FOOD. The family who owns the restaurant shared with me that they had to balance out the menu of traditional dishes with the plates that would satisfy the average craving for "asian fusion." I appreciate that as a sensible business decision. I even toyed with the idea of ordering crab rangoon, but of course I went with the lettuce rolls. Vermont, could ya please try to step out of your comfort zone and go with something healthy, smart, rich in flavor, mindful, tasty, & zesty?? Please do yourself that favor and try the traditional dishes. Again, I had the lettuce rolls to start with. And, as recommended by Monica (wife/partner to owner and head Chef Chy), I had the Khmer Curry Soup with chicken (Cambodian traditional). I absolutely recommend it for anyone who wants to settle into a beautiful journey of nature's bounty. The chicken was so soft, with big enough pieces to soak up the red curry soup. The broth was deeply layered, almost like a Japanese ramen. The rice noodles made a skirt underneath the soup, easy to swirl out with a flick of a fork, complementary to the sweetness & tang that swam throughout the dish. Balance is key in this dish, and Chef Chy hit the mark with precision in the chops of cilantro and chives and with flair in the gorgeous rich sunset brushstroke of this dish's hue. A truly warming meal. Warming to the heart for sure!!! Please find the time to eat at this place. Please disregard the other reviews & approach this place with a fresh eye after reading my review. I'm not kissing anyone's butt. I have a wide palate, and I'm deeply interested in special places built by love & hardworking brilliant people. I'm a humanistic person who's willing to cut up a place if it sucks (trust me, look at my other reviews)... but Angkor Wat in Woodstock, Vermont is a place that makes all of my good humanistic parts shine!!! :)
