Tried the Grouper and Snapper blackened with tropical sauce, Yucca fries and seasonal veggies which was very delicious. Our server Stephanie provided great service. She was attentive, had a wonderful attitude and a joyfulness about her. They even went out of their way to acknowledge our anniversary in such a sweet way. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Google
Always ask about the specials!! Great food with large portions, and great spirits!! Get the coconut flan if they're not out of it yet. A great place to eat that's just a shuttle ride away from Hawk's Cay!! -wish they had some Reds from Spain

Brunch June 2025 menu- If you’re looking for the perfect weekend brunch spot, Angler & Ale absolutely delivers. Every Saturday and Sunday, they serve up an incredible brunch that checks all the boxes—bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys (yes, bottomless!), a full cocktail menu, and a lineup of entrees and sides that are genuinely delicious. The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared—from savory classics to creative specials. The portions are generous, and the vibe is exactly what you want on a slow, sunny morning by the water. Add in friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere, and it’s easy to see why this has become the go-to brunch spot. Highly recommend making it a weekend tradition!

This is a wonderful spot for casual dining near Islamorada. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the location right by the water makes it even more special. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a quiet meal with a beautiful view. The food is really tasty and fresh, exactly what you would want from a laid-back coastal restaurant. The menu has a nice variety without being overwhelming, and the portions are just right. Sitting by the water, enjoying the calm surroundings and the gentle breeze, made the experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy good food without any rush. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area and want a peaceful and delicious meal by the water.

I love a fresh catch basket! This was definitely fresh fish. Yummy! The service was on point by India, who was friendly, made sure we had all we needed, and was quick with the refills. Definitely recommend this place on a beautiful day so you can enjoy the outstanding view.

Google
Fresh local seafood. Great place to stop for a bite. View of the Marina on this quiet Key. Appetizer was conch fritters. Not recommended little conch inside this dough ball. . We had the Whole Snapper Fried (very good but too small). And the daily special Red Snapper. Excellent

Google
We went there 3 times in the week we stayed at Hawks Key! So um yeah, it’s pretty good I’d say. Pictured is the surf and turf (hell yeah), skirt steak, HOOK AND COOK BABY (5 lbs of yellowtail snapper caught on the Final Final charter which I also highly recommend with Jimmy & Jared), and then the desserts that all banged (banana split sure, chocolate brownie & ice cream, and s’mores dip with graham crackers outta this world). Ask for India and/or Emily as a waitress!! A riot. Also, the bartenders were top tier; Gregory puts on a show. Get in there now.

Google
Amazing food, friendly staff from all over the world, great atmosphere and great ocean views. Everything was cooked perfect. We had steak, fish, and shrimp dishes all outstanding. Little Key lime pie for dessert to round out the night! Prices a little high but the food quality and service aligned. Plenty of parking just outside gates of Hawks Cay Resort.

Yelp
Food was good, staff was really friendly, but they recently updated their menu so the items recommended on Yelp aren't available anymore (crab cakes, lobster Mac and cheese, etc). The prices are also higher than the menu I looked at online. There were more drink options on the menu than food. I thought we were missing a menu. (And the Yelp website link isn't accurate). The blackened fish sandwich was really good! Overall, it was good, we were just disappointed that they didn't have the things highlighted by other Yelp reviews.

Yelp
Our dinner experience was top-notch, and Emily truly made it exceptional, she was warm, attentive, full of great recommendations, and incredibly understanding of my severe dairy allergy, which I really appreciated. I ordered the "Summer Vibes" drink special and my boyfriend had the Angler's Punch, both delicious. We started with the mussels, which were fantastic and reminded us of the ones from Bonefish, flavorful and fresh. The standout for me was the tempura lobster: light, crispy batter with incredible texture. I didn't know what to expect, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. We also shared the market catch of the day, which my boyfriend couldn't stop raving about. We'll definitely be back on future trips to and from Key West, this time we're staying at Hawks Cay, but it's well worth the detour. We hoped to sit outside and enjoy the live music, but seating was full when we arrived at 7:15 on a Sunday, totally understandable given how popular the place is. Clean bathrooms and nice soap were a bonus, and we appreciated the manager personally visiting tables, great touch all around!

Yelp
Good first meal in the keys. We sat outside on the deck and got to listen to some live music, which was fun. Service was good. The lobster tempura was tasty - we wish there was more sauce, though (it was real tasty and added to the tempura). Our fish dishes were both nicely prepared. The key lime pie was good - we liked the toasted meringue on top.

Yelp
The restaurant was nice and the view of the marina was great. I was not very satisfied with my food or service. The manager did offer a discount because my steak was over cooked, which was much appreciated (excellent management) but my vegetables were very tough and had a flavor I didn't like and the potato was underwhelming. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic. The bartender was great and accommodating. We were there with three little kids which for some restaurants seems to be an inconvenience. It seemed like seating other guests first was more of a priority even though the restaurant was empty (we got there right when it opened) and we had to find our waiter to get the check after our meal. I might try this restaurant again and order something different, but the prices were a bit high for the quality of food.
google avatar

Kristin F.

Yelp
Server was great with our young kids. Fish was overcooked and not seasoned. Conch fritters weren't good at all. For 4 people (2 were kids) nearly $300 was not worth it to us.

Yelp
This place is super cold bring your coat !! It is also very loud in here. They don't have mint or chamomile tea. They have a sort of black teas and a lemon tea. The yellowtail blackened. Very good and the mango and rice was a good combination. I had a 6 ounce lobster tail that was very tasty. I also had the loaded baked potato which I had to send back once because it wasn't hot. I highly recommend that if you don't like nacho cheese, make sure you order this without cheese. When I got it the first time there was a liquid cheese on it. When I received an actual hot potato, the second time I asked for it without the runny cheese, and it tasted so much better. I ordered the angler mud pie they said they were out of it so then we got the salted caramel cheesecake. The service here is absolutely terrible. They did have a party however, from the time we finished our meal, it took forever for our way to come back and check on us. I had to ask 2 to 3 different people to the dessert and get our bill. From my experience here tonight I would not eat here again, nor would I recommend this restaurant. The food is average. The service is horrible and it's freezing in here.

Yelp
The best restaurant we've eaten at in the mid-keys! New menu spring 2025 vs pics on yelp, and much better than their Yelp rating in my opinion. We sat outside on the deck just prior to sunset for our dinner, and it had both a great view of the small harbor and bay, and excellent food; you normally only get one or the other. My wife and I had fresh seared Grouper with the tropical salsa and Mahi Mahi with piccata sauce, and both were fabulous. Our server had just the right amount of service; not hovering nor nowhere to be seen. And coconut carrot cake!
google avatar

Nancy N.

Yelp
Service was a little slow but solid. Food was ok- nothing blew us away. If you're staying at Hawks Cay it's one of your options.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
Beautiful location! The staff was nice, the golf cart ride from Hawks Cay was fantastic, and the ocean breeze was priceless. We really enjoyed our dinner here and had a great time. I knocked a few points because of the cost, my meal, although a good size was over $70. Probably the most expensive meal I've had outside of my wedding! But mainly, I was disappointed in the smokey flavor of my filet and all the meat this restaurant served us. I've never had a filet so smokey, I'm not sure if it's just how they cooked it or if they added the smoke flavor to it, but it made it taste exactly like every other meat I tried while here, just a different texture. The meat quality was good, but the smoke flavor just threw me off, I definitely would not order again.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Went to the restaurant at 9:20 with a party of two. The manager walked up and locked the front door and refused to let us in to order food when the restaurant closed at 10:00. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Who ever is in change needs to seriously rethink the work staff.
google avatar

Ramsey S.

Yelp
Beautiful view of the marina, food was really good. Highly recommend the fried whole fish. Service of the waiter was, well not really a service and was not only our table. Table next door had not service. They got utensils at the end of the meal. Don't like to post negative reviews but service is number one priority. Service in the Bar was fantastic as we waited to be sit.

Heather H.

Yelp
Worst service ever! Do not eat here!!! An hour past our reservation and we are watching tables seated after us getting their food. AWFUL!!!!
google avatar

Teresa W.

Yelp
We had high hopes for this spot for our latest family vacation, but sadly, as a family, we agree it's awful every time and we are not eating here again any time soon . We have been booking harbor village condos and visiting Hawks Cay for over 25 years and this restaurant is subpar. Fried pickles and conch fritters to start, the pickles were fried beyond recognition. The conch fitters were ok. The table had multiple cheeseburgers, a short rib cheeseburger, multiple fish tacos, and a chicken sandwich. Once again the burgers were overcooked and dry, the chicken sandwich was ok, the fish tacos were pretty good but needed more spice for blackening. We requested no onions on the burgers and they had lots of onions. The server was trying but we were 20 minutes in to get drinks and an hour plus on for dinner. This is a fast casual place. Why so long? Our son and daughter in law had to leave with the baby before the rest of us were finished. Not coming back on the next trip to Hawks Cay. We would rather drive 15 minutes off property than face this bad food. Dining options are all American with local seafood. A full bar is available along with indoor and outdoor seating options.

Grant W.

Yelp
The customer service was terrible. The host, who I believe was the manager on duty on Saturday (5/24/2025), treated us with hostility from the start. We had a reservation for 8:30, but were told their reservations don't hold tables, and it would be an hour wait. When we went to the bar to wait, the bartender, Gregory, was extremely disrespectful and seemed mad people were ordering drinks. Highly do not recommend this place and would advise them to have customer service training sessions.

Barb D.

Yelp
We enjoyed amazing food and the outdoors dining was extremely pleasant. The fried red snapper was delicious along with the grilled shrimp was so satisfying!!

Adela G.

Yelp
We had a phenomenal fish and chips here. They call it Fish in a Basket. Best batter and perfectly fresh fish. Lovely!
google avatar

Fahim R.

Yelp
Overall good food, but very overpriced for the setting (prices would imply fine diner, but more of a casual family restaurant). I think the prices are high because it's within the Hawks Quay resort. That said, we did have a good experience, and the food and service were fine. But just not up to the prices (even compared to the several other restaurants in the area). The hogfish, in particular was really good.
google avatar

Ricardo V.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Brought our fresh yellowtail and it was cooked to perfection. I recommend the chopped salad and rice.
google avatar

Allyssa M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best seafood I've EVER had. The preparation is amazing and our server Ralph was the sweetest- he recommended the Meunière for my salmon dish + the chocolate muse. Both were to die for and my favorite out of our entire party's meals. Second favorite was the French Mahi Mahi!! The whole place was super cute. At first glance, we felt it wasn't the most formal spot. But it was super fitting and very picturesque. Outside is even cuter with lights, greenery, and nice boats to look at. We thought there was a shop in the same building based on the marquee sign, but it turned out to be a super small fishing retail spot. Still nice to check out. Even though our group meal was shockingly pricey, we really are considering going again before we leave from vacation. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

Yelp
Over priced fish, small portions, not sure wha else to say. The make me out 85 characters
google avatar

Wally W.

Yelp
Conch fritters- mushy Calamari's- small, over battered, ok flavor Fried Snapper- fish over cooked, broccoli old tough and not edible Party of 10 only burger eaters finished meals Key Lime Pie- ok, nothing to write home about Service- out numbered guests, slow, disorganized but very courteous when you hunted them down

Yelp
Rude hostess. Definitely didn't feel welcome. We had a reservation at 5:00. They made a very clear that they actually will not even look you in the eye until at least 5:01. At that rate they should have just kept the doors locked. And the food was below average unfortunately. Waste of money
google avatar

Yelp
We ate there last night it was a little late but we were treated wonderfully Our server India was fantastic She helped us with our decisions Each item was great A beautiful dining area we were inside because it was a little windy Looking forward to coming back

Yelp
Ate at Angler and Ale while staying at Hawks Cay Marina. Conveniently located with amazing blue waterfront views during sunset. Initially, we waited a while for service and had to go in to ask the hostess who our server was? We realized we were on island time and just laughed about it and this is why I couldn't give a 5 star review. Our waitress, Careena welcomed us enthusiastically with a million dollar smile. So refreshing and worth the wait! The menu has a large selection with something for everyone even a special Dog Menü for Sunny. Our food was delicious with beautiful presentation as well.

Joseph R.

Yelp
Rude. We showed up at 815p to grab a drink and dessert. The hostess could not have been ruder talking us they were full and only took reservations. Glancing over to the bar. There were plenty of empty seats. We asked if we could just grab a drink and were told no.

Yelp
We have been hitting the Florida restaurant scene this week as hard as a sledgehammer. We have been amazed at the very high level of food we have found in some of the most peculiar places. Either we've been very lucky, or us six have done our homework. Either way, Angler and Ale was weak. The ambiance was almost set up like a school cafeteria. It wasn't very comfortable. The menu read like a fish house, which it kind of was but everything we ordered was limp. I know my adjectives are esoteric, but I'm trying to "not" write a scathing review due to the fact that everyone working here were lovely! Not that I am even (close) to being a restauranteur, because I'm not. But I could do a few quick changes here that would drastically change the end result of what I think they're trying to do. Now, in their favor, it was late; actually close to closing. The kitchen was starting to shut down. It was probably a long day and everyone including us were tired. I'm thinking the food wasn't up to par and all of us folks just wanted to get out and go home. In Yelp talk, three stars means "OK"! The problem with that, was the prior eight meals we've had on this New Years vacation was four and five star stuff.

Richard K.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a view after riding bikes around Duck Key. Solid four stars for food and views on the deck. Burger was cooked perfectly. Same with the grilled fish sandwich. Tuna nachos were a little sweet, so order with less sweet sauce or on the side. Lots of cold beers on tap.
google avatar

Sasha K.

Yelp
Great service and good food. It's a fun touristy place with surprisingly good food. Recommend going
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
I've been here several times over the years. The food is definitely not what it used to be. Scenery, and service is good. Prices are extremely high for what you get, but I wouldn't think otherwise due to its location. I still enjoy the atmosphere, and the large parking lot which is suitable for cars and golf carts. Patio in the back has great views that you can relax to and watch manatees and other sea animals jump and swim around to. I recommend going at least once. Clean place, good service and workers, the food could and used to be better. I'll go back again at some point to watch a football game or two and relax on the patio.

Austin L.

Yelp
The food was incredible, I walked in with relatively low expectations due to the decor but I was blown away by everything I ate! More specifically the Mahi with Macadamia Crust and the Pear Purse Pasta. Also if you still have room for more, get the Caribbean Banana Split.... YUM! Service was also excellent !

Ashely V.

Yelp
View is perfection, server was fantastic.. the food was good.. also the key lime pie was delicious
google avatar

Yesenia C.

Yelp
India was attentive to our need specially after a few drinks at our temporary home. The appetizer we're good after a few drinks. The fried calamari were my best. Thank you

Sara T.

Yelp
Unfortunately the food is just not good at all. At the price they charge the food should really be outstanding and I would give the food that was served tonight a 1 out of 10 . Not happy because the bill was almost 300
google avatar

Guillaume L.

Yelp
No one greeted us as we walked in and we had to get someone's attention. The hostess was rude, seemed angry to be there and when we asked for a window view. When our waiter Ralph showed up, our experience quickly went from negative to pleasant. Excellent attentive service from Ralph! The whole fried snappers we ordered was just amazing!!! The vegetables were overcooked and soggy. Overall, we had a great meal!
google avatar

Hugo S.

Yelp
Pretty good place, great looking marina restaurant. Prices are what you can expect from a resort restaurant, drinks were pretty good and service was just average to be nice. Food was good but not great and was very limited options. It's a nice place for drinks eyeing the marina but not a place where you drive for food.
google avatar

Melisa M.

Yelp
Angler & Ale is a nice restaurant, the food is very good! We usually sit at the bar because the service is great! Greggory is one of the bartenders and he is awesome..always a smile on his face, quick to take your order and just an all around nice person! Great place to have a nice dinner.
google avatar

Brittney K.

Yelp
This is a fun spot to take the family if you're staying close by Hawks Cay. The drinks are pretty good and the views are nice. The service we received was great. We tried the couch fritters, the wings, burgers and fries. The food isn't bad especially if you're there with great company. I would definitely recommend for a meal with the family on vacation!
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
Food is decent. Its a solid spot for a family night out on vacation. Definitely over priced but its one of the better spots in the area.
google avatar

William C.

Yelp
Food and drinks are OK by Keys standards just way, way overpriced - one domestic Draft beer and one glass of wine at Happy Hour was $25 before the tip! But my biggest compliant is the ambiance, this place is similar to a hospital cafeteria and with these prices, I have to give it a thumbs down.
google avatar

Allison G.

Yelp
My partner and I come by this restaurant every time we drive through the area and this has been one of the best experiences we have had! The food was excellent and the bartender Gregory was absolutely fantastic! Look forward to coming back again and again!

Terry S.

Yelp
4/2024 If you can avoid the convenience of this restaurant you should. As stated in previous review this restaurant is freezing.Could not sit outside because of the mosquitos. No bug spray or citronella candles. we waited 70 minutes for our food to be served cold. By that time children were sleeping without their dinner. Waitress never came back to check on us. In defense of the manager that evening she did adjust our bill fairly. Don't waste precious vacation time and money (very overpriced for the quality of food) on this restuarant.
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
This place has low reviews but our family's experience was very good. The fresh fish of the day - snapper- was delicious. They hog fish filet was very fresh and well seasoned. Appetizers were also very good. Our server Wayne was on top of the meal for the 11 of us. And the bartender was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations. The view is so pretty overlooking the resort and water.

Megan H.

Yelp
I had lunch today with Gregory bartending and he was delightful. I ordered the chopped salad with shrimp and was very pleased with it. Gregory led me in the right direction with my food and drinks. It was very tentative and a pleasure to sit with today. I would highly recommend this restaurant and having Gregory as your bartender!
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
We came on a Friday night and expected it to be busy, which it was. The hostess was extremely friendly and accommodating and made sure to ask all the right questions on where we wanted to be sat, and gave us an approximate wait time. There was live music outside where they also had a makeshift bar set up, so we hung out there and got some drinks while waiting to be sat. Once we were seated at our table, no one came over for at least 20 minutes. An extremely nice waitress noticed us sitting there and asked if anyone had come over yet to which we told her no. She gladly took our orders and said our server should be over shortly. A different server dropped our drinks off, but didn't seem to know if he was assigned to our table or not. Throughout the entire evening no one seemed to "claim" us which was very odd and made the service even slower than it would have been. My husband and I both got burgers so nothing too crazy, and they were nothing too special either. We did also get the potato pancakes and beer cheese soup, an Oktoberfest special, that were quite tasty. The notable food though was the key lime pie and obviously that is THE dessert of the Keys but even so, this one was exceptionally delightful. If we weren't staying at Hawk's Cay we likely would not have come here and though it had great vibes the service was sub-par and the food was just alright.
google avatar

Savannah B.

Yelp
I made a reservation in advance, and they had everything set up for us when we arrived. We chose to sit outside and the view was beautiful. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The food came out quickly and it was very delicious! I do wish that there had been more pickle chips for the price, but I guess that's to be expected from a more upscale place. The seats are hard metal, so bring a cushion if you medically need more support.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
Go see Eric and Gregory at the Angler and Ale at the bar they are very personable and give the place an Island feel! The food is great, blackened grouper, ahi tuna nachos and shrimp toast are all good!!

Rob H.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, but the noise from the bar is louder than being at an actual sports bar. The small dining room off of the bar echoes like being in a tunnel!!!!

Terry O.

Yelp
Was very pricey and service slow Food was just ok Was convent to where we stayed so went there after a day of traveling. Would most likely not go back

Gerard H.

Yelp
$$$$ $23 for a glass of wine. So 2 glasses was more expensive than most entrees. I understand a little up charge in a resort area but that's ridiculous. Food was good. Location is nice. Service was okay. Doublechecked all the images on Yelp for the menu and it is conveniently missing any image that shows the prices for alcohol.
