"If there is one dish that customers expect to find in a restaurant called Anglo Indian, it is chicken tikka masala, and, sure enough, it is a bestseller in this simply decorated eatery in the heart of the CBD. The dining room may only seat 20, but there is a large outdoor terrace that is often packed. Other popular choices from the sensibly priced menu include butter chicken and mutton dum biryani. The weekday lunch is a steal." - Michelin Inspector

No frills Indian restaurant serving up great dishes. Quiet on a weekend night and plenty of outdoor seating. Butter Chicken was slightly sweeter than what we usually prefer but the chicken was wonderfully tender. Palek Paneer was wonderful, and paired really well with the naan. Railway Mutton was tender and the curry was beautifully spiced. Ordered the Dum Mutton Briyani was it came with a bread dome covering it. The rice was fluffy and soaked up the mutton flavours. This is strongly recommended. Assortment of naans were good and paired well with the dishes ordered.

Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar delivers an enjoyable dining experience with its lively setting, authentic Indian flavors, and outstanding service. The menu offers a broad selection of well-prepared dishes, with highlights such as the butter chicken, madaras prawn curry, and naan—all showcasing bold, satisfying flavors. Guests can choose between cozy indoor seating or relax in the spacious outdoor courtyard, making it ideal for gatherings with family or friends. The service is a real standout, our server, was warm, attentive, and provided thoughtful recommendations that enhanced the meal. With its combination of delicious food, welcoming ambiance, and excellent hospitality, this is a great spot for Indian cuisine lovers in Singapore.

A respite of finding a good authentic Indian restaurant was achieved as I stepped into the spot. The outlet has three branches across Singapore. The seating was both indoor and outdoor- outdoor has its seating part of the larger courtyard which is spacious and airy making the dinner even more delightful. The chef favourite- balti paneer and butter chicken are a must try . The dal was also excellent. They serve a German 🍺 which was very good. Pricing is moderate- high which is on expected lines for Singapore restaurants Good experience

We ordered the chicken tika masala and the Indian railway mutton curry. The masala was cooked to perfection and the tomato puree was so good you can eat it on its own. The mutton curry is the signature dish and you won’t tire of eating it. We ordered the garlic naan and cheese naan. The garlic naan was nice but the cheese naan was so good we ordered another set. Overall excellent place to go during weekends where there is no CBD crowd. Will return for sure.

The food here was outstanding—every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service. Our server, Rita, was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. She made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and offered great recommendations. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail truly elevated the dining experience. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the fantastic service!

Google
First time to try an official Indian cafe. Service and food are great! Naan, fish curry and mutton curry are delicious! Lunch set is good enough. We ordered a dessert which was very special to us. It’s chewy. However, please be reminded that no air-con in the branch. I’ll choose outdoor seat next time. Actually, I think I will go and try another branch in Chijmes. The vibe there looks more chill.

Yelp
I walked down the steps and smelled something so divine. I seen Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar and I had to stop. The server that took the time to answer all of my questions and gave me wonderful recommendations my hostess was amazing and his name was Abhi. The Manager Nash Viknesh was extremely attentive and pleasant as well. The staff is top notch , and was absolutely welcoming. I ordered the prawn curry with basmati rice I didn't want to finish it I really wanted to save some for later but it was too delicious to save for later, I finished it and it was the best curry I have ever had. Thank you so much Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar staff those I mentioned and didn't . Everyone was tremendously amazing! Thank you!

Yelp
Our go-to place when we are craving samosas (one of the best indian snacks IMO!!). We have gone there to do take away and also ordered on online platforms. The place never disappoints, we have always got piping hot fresh food. The chicken and paneer rolls though can sometimes be a hit or miss. But the samosas are on point!!

Yelp
This place is slightly different from the other Indian restaurants in Singapore, in that it has a few dishes you might find in the UK (as the name suggests, though not as many as I'd like). It's slightly pricey, but the servings are larger than usual and the quality is good. I tried the Anglo Indian Country Captain Chicken, which had nice semi-crunchy onion bits inside. It had a very generous portion of chicken, and used above average sized and above average cuts (though not chicken breast, as you'd likely find in the UK - which was a good thing since that'd be too dry). While delicious, I'd been told it was of medium spiciness, but I found it very spicy. The kulcha (an Indian bread you don't find in most places) was fresh, hot, crispy and glittering with butter. It had a great onion flavour too, containing finely minced and not too raw onion (there was also a potato option). The mango lassi was not very sweet, had a relatively mild mango taste and had more ice than I'd have liked, but it was only $7 and still better than at some places, so. Unfortunately the rasmalai (Indian cheese cake) was disappointing. It had a bit of a chalky taste and aftertaste and was like minced paneer compressed together (yes, I know it's made of paneer but at other places where I've had this it was more like cake, creamier and richer).

Yelp
I used to be a big fan of Anglo Indian when I worked in the CBD (My experience at the Chijmes branch was less stellar.). The biryani was divine, especially with the pastry on top. Other dishes were very good - just solid North Indian food as opposed to something creative like Rang Mahal of Punjab Grill. So, with the circuit breaker in place, we ordered for delivery. It arrived even 5 minutes early. However, we were shocked at how Lilliputian the portions were. $45 per pax was truly excessive. Food delivered at home would never taste the same as on premises. Next time, since this is not innovative haute cuisine anyway, we would just buy the same food at a hawker for one quarter of the price. Quality would not be as high, but the gap in taste would still be less than the difference in price.

Yelp
The food is good but not excellent, service slow, high prices. With so many choices within just a block or two it's easy to do better. For lunch we got a Chicken Tikka Masala, Saffron Rice, Garlic Naan, and one beer. Nothing bad but nothing special either and the bill was $43. Considering that the day before I got an equally good lunch two storefronts down for less than $3 I'll be avoiding this place in future.

Yelp
Got the butter chicken, palak paneer and mutton biryani. Butter chicken and palak paneer was great--both were very creamy and smooth. I wasn't a huge fan of the biryani because I could see and taste raw ginger in the rice, but the presentation (having a naan baked on top of it) was quite impressive. There was not a ton of meat in the mutton biryani too... We got roti, naan and butter naan. The butter naan and roti were my favorite! For the cost (things were between $19 and $22), the food portion were not very big, but it was definitely enough for one if you ordered more breads. The curries did not come with rice or bread. Maybe a lunch special would have been more worth it...

Yelp
In one sentence, the food and service is stellar and that's all you need to know. However, this is a review so I'll write a bit more. From the moment we were seated on a lazy afternoon to the time we were handed the cheque, we could not possibly have had any chance to regret our decision. Service was remarkable. The owner, I presume, was friendly and welcoming. He joked at my occasional faux pas and was very patient with our numerous queries. The light hearted atmosphere made it very pleasant indeed, and it was clear why there'd be so many patrons sitting around and chatting after they had long finished their lunch. It's an Anglo Indian restaurant so there's a portion of the food that just fusion. We opted not to go for the fusion pasta and had the boring dishes you'd see everywhere in England - saag paneer and chicken tikka masala. Unfortunately, he'd mistaken our order and it wasn't saag paneer. I'm not sure what it was but the paneer is good, not the usual rubbery cube but a soft, tender cheese in a richly spiced and slightly creamy curry. The chicken tikka masala was also cooked to perfection, not overcooked at all. Even my British partner who grew up in a mostly Indian-populated part of UK had to concede that they were so very good. The mango lassi was just the right thickness, sweetness and acidity with a strong hint of mango. Our entire meal came up to 60 plus. Each main is from 14 to 22 dollars and naans are generally $4 to $4.50. There are set lunches with curries of the day, but we didn't try them. If you like North Indian curries or, more accurately, British style curries, this place is a must try. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Food was good. Restaurant offers full variety of meals with a tinge of Chinese flavours in it. Chicken and Fish are pretty decent, although the vegetarian options are not so. Biryani is a must have with the wrapping of roti. Service is good, but not excellent. The variety even extends to beverages, and one can have a heartful time here. Would recommend to friends for fine non-veg dishes and a delicious biryani.

Yelp
Average food and beer. Veg has very limited option and so does beer. Only advantage is Price which is very reasonable for beer

Yelp
On my last night in Singapore I was flying solo for dinner. I suspected the Indian food in Singapore would be great, and I was right. I would've done takeout and nommed in PJs in my room at the Westin but wasn't too keen on having my room smell like Indian food, so I grabbed a table outside at this cute restaurant. A large G&T seemed in order in the 90 degree 100% humidity weather, so I enjoyed that with some naan and chicken tikka masala. It was quick, delicious and reasonably priced, and there was good people watching in and out of the Exchange bar a few doors down.

Yelp
I work in the vicinity and this is my favourite place for Indian food, but mostly I am writing this review to compliment their excellent service. My company has catered from Anglo Indian and their offerings are top notch, and very professional. And when I'm at the restaurant, I prefer to dine al fresco with a thirst quenching Paulaner in hand :)

Yelp
Basics: Set at the end of a row of restaurants and cafe is Anglo Indian Cafe and Bar. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and thankfully, to someone who's not used to this humidity, they have portable air-con units outside so you can enjoy your meal without passing out from the heat. They have both high and low top seating and since the tables are detached you can join them together for a bigger group. They have a fairly decent sized TV screen that faces the outdoor seating area that's locked to a sports station, at least every time I passed by at night I can see the English Premier League or cricket. Food: Okay, so I'm probably a newbie compared to everyone in Singapore when it comes to Indian food, but honestly this has to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Singapore. Basically, they do upscale Indian cuisine similar to Punjab Grill at MBS, but without the creativity, just good old fashion cooking. I've been here several times for dinner, so far never for lunch, and I haven't been disappointed. I highly recommend the Mutton Biryani. I personally don't like lamb, but the way they cook it really blends the flavours well and doesn't leave a strong taste or smell. I thought the Paneer Butter Masala was done well and the curry in Butter Chicken was fantastic. As for drinks, I haven't tried any of the cocktails, but a great place to grab a Paulaner and watch some sports highlights after work. Granted if you're looking for more of a party, the Exchange and Bank is more lively...more to come on that in my other reviews. Dunno if it's just me, but I usually order quite a few dishes since I just can't bring myself to just having biryani and chicken, plus if you add a drink or two, the bill adds up pretty quickly. I know since they're located in the CBD they have to charge a premium, but unless I'm eating with a bigger group, it's a little hard to comprehend paying so much for dinner. Then again, it is a fantastic meal. To each his own when it comes to value for money, but this place always hits the spot for me.

Yelp
this place is really expensive for mediocre indian food. a group of us came for lunch on fri, and we each ordered a curry. all of them looked the same!! i wish there was more variety in the flavor and spice of the food.
