The Pizza Angolo - With its San Marzano tomato sauce, Italian Sausage, BACON, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, and mushrooms, it is pretty tasty and I've ordered it three times, pretty consistent. I normally like more veggies or a margherita (which they have) but this was both savory and salty, with a slightly crispy yet bread-y crust. Because there's so much meat, there is a bit of oil on the pizza, and this is to be expected.
My son usually gets the meatball Parmesan sandwich which comes with fries. He says the meatballs are flavorful and prefers when they use more Parmesan, but he's usually pretty satisfied. The fries are the crunchy, kind of coated kind.
The tiramisu CAN be shared, but why? Lol, it's creamy and chocolate-y, and the ladyfingers aren't overly soaked which I prefer because I need the texture balance.
Overall, we like Angolo for comfort Italian food; it's pretty popular with visitors, families, and locals, being a little on the SE side of Georgetown. It gets pretty busy starting Thursdays through the weekend, but you can also make a reservation on Open Table. If you sit on the patio or curbside, it can get pretty noisy with conversation and traffic. Inside is a little bit less noisy but vibrant with conversation.
Do note that if you eat on-site, the gratuity of 18% is automatically added for tables of 2 or more. It's noted on the menu. I can't tell you why they do this, but you should know ahead of time.
If you want Take-out, order direct from their website and save some $$ on App fees and the automatic gratuity is not charged. Buon appetito!
