"This relative Bakersfield newcomer has stiff competition across Kern County, but that doesn’t stop the shop from cooking up some of the most inventive fare in the area. Of particular note is the so-called trailer trash casserole, made with Frito chips and a choice of meat, as well as the big hoss sandwich with brisket and pimento cheese." - Farley Elliott

The brisket is really tender, juicy and has the right amount of seasoning. Same with the chicken. I thought the chicken was going to be dry by the looks of it, but I was wrong. It was perfect. The potato salad was delicious. It tastes like they put a lot of boiled eggs in it, which I like. The Mac n cheese was good, but nothing special. It was good, though. I wanted fried okra, but they were out. The cashier could be friendlier. It seems like she feels bothered when you ask her for anything. Anyhow, I do recommend this place, especially the brisket. One caution: the Southern Comfort Plate says "Starting at $16.95" I ordered three different combos none of them were $16.95. All of them were $19.95. I'm guessing because of the brisket. I'm not sure.

Google
Disappointed! Our office decided they wanted BBQ for lunch today and decided to go with Angry Barnyard over our usual Prime Time BBQ. I ordered the Big Hoss Sandwich. What I received is not what is advertised on their website. I have never seen chopped brisket on a sandwich before. Brisket was flavorless and dry!!!

Nichole Medina

Google
Cute little place. I got a combo plate with brisket and sausage and beans and mac n cheese for the sides, plus cornbread. Everything was so good! The brisket was very moist and tender. Plenty of different sauces to choose from and can grab whenever while dining in. The staff was also very nice and welcoming.

PowerOn

Google
Inside Way to small to sit down and eat at. But the service was great and spot on. Food is really good the loaded potato is delicious.Im not a fan of the sauces for the meat and the brisket is good but the cut seems oddly thick cut and bit to smokey for me while other may really like that smokey taste was a bit much for me. Corn casserole ok.. tomato pie was delicious and pecan pie delicious. 32 $ for a pound of Brisket is definitely on the higher side of others places in town. I ordered cornbread but it was not in there. Overall definitely return for the loaded potato and a few other items will have to try some other meats next time.

Google
Food is absolutely delicious. I still haven't been able to get there in time to get some catfish. It is always sold out by the time I get off work! 😒. Personnel is very nice. Great place to go, and enjoy.

Sapo's Brisket Challenge

Google
Simply Amazing Barbecue!! 🤌🏼🔥 The Brisket was smoked to perfection, plenty marbled, the right amount of char, & cut thic by a pro! The flavor stands on its own and the meat was flaky, juicy, fork tender greatness… You Gotta try all 4 sauces. Gentleman’s Classic has a light pour, great tang, & just the right mild kick at the end. Sassy Southerner shows her sauce a little thicker with a bigger kick and a hug at the beginning followed by smooth sweetness at the end, makes sense 😅🔥 Unique rotating side menu, I got to try the tomato pie with amazing flaky crust top. And the classic potato salad was creamy, lightly seasoned refreshing. Ring the bell at the door if you know what’s up with flavor Town🤩 The Banana Pudding Cake was fluffy yellow cake, topped with the banana pudding custard style w crumbled cookies on top. Dec-a-dent decadent!!!🍰 🔥Follow Tobes Brisket Challenge for more national barbecue reviews…🗺

Google
I usually get the bowl which comes with 2 sides and your choice of meat. My regular are the ribs, I like that they are not smothered in barbecue sauce, they have a dry rub on them and you get the sauce on the side. Their potato salad has quite a bit of dill and I enjoyed the taste however my kids thought it was too "pickled-y". Their chilly beans and mack & cheese are also delicious... I've tried the pull pork salad and it came with a lot of meat which I didn't care too much for but I think it may have been that the meat was kinda cold. At first I thought it was too expensive but honestly the portions are huge so I think is worth it. For desert don't forget the beignets. -Check out their website for the full menu and sign up to get a coupon on your next order.

Google
The cashier has bad energy and horrible customer service. They are always out of something. The prices are inconsistent with whats on the website. Extremely overpriced. They need to follow a prep list to ensure that they have items listed on the menu. Get rid of the cashier, announce it and the people who she ran off may return. Food is decent.

Yelp
I haven't good BBQ in a very long time. This was GREAT BBQ! The Service right from the start was amazing! Ordered delivery, and within a minute I was getting called from a very lovely lady from the restaurant. She was informing me that unfortunately they didn't have the meats I was ordering "tri tip and ribs." But that she would tell me what they did have, "brisket and Turkey"; that sounds good! Unfortunately they didn't have the buttermilk pie that I tried to order for dessert and the only thing they had was "sweet potato pie or banana pudding cake" one didn't sound appetizing and the other I'm allergic to. So she did let me change it for an extra meat. She recommended the sausage and I'm glad she did! Yum! Everything tasted fantastic! Meat was tender, nice and fatty for you brisket lovers. Turkey was moist and flavorful! Sausage was mind blowing good! Especially when you dip it in the Carolina Gold! All the Meats; Total Win! Now as for the sides. Here's where I had a problem. Mac & Cheese was disappointing. Really no flavor, not very cheesy, just noodles with some cheese on top. Potato salad was ok, heavy on the dill, but not bad. The pickle slices are definitely homemade, nice that they added them, but I honestly didn't even eat them after the first one. Kind of sweet in my opinion. The biggest let down for me was the cornbread. Just from the thickness, the size of it, I was excited! I love cornbread, especially with BBQ! This tasted off. Like the brine from the pickles soaked into the cornbread and left it with this weird, sweet, tangy, peppery flavor. It was very off putting. I took one bite then set it aside. Can't speak on the ambiance, cause I got my food delivered, but from delivery alone? I'm very impressed with this place. I will definitely be ordering from here one more time before I go home. Bakersfield is very lucky to have these wonderful people and this amazing BBQ. Hopefully one day, they'll branch down to Visalia. We could use some BBQ down there. Especially Great BBQ like this! Don't let my own quarrels with the sides make you think twice about eating here, this place truly knows how to handle their meats! Amazing flavor all the way!

Yelp
In the heat of the moment on a manic Monday I forgot my wallet on the way to work. Almost skipped lunch and had to remind myself it's 2024. I used this lovely app to find a place that accepts Apple Pay. As fate would have it angry barnyard was the place. I walked in and ordered my 2 meats 2 sides and a drink. The counter service was on point. Seating area is small but comfortable and well lit. I believe that sides should be unremarkable an unremarkable side compliments the dish perfectly. If it's remarkable the side was either really good or really bad. I thought the greens here were remarkably good; not overcooked, super juicy and flavorful with generous chunks of meat. The main meat portion was smaller than expected although still large enough to take home leftovers. The bbq sauce is self serve so I poured it generously and it melted in my mouth right along with the brisket. Somehow maybe because of the scorching heat the standout piece of this meal for me was the drink. It's a bottomless glass of sweet tea. Sounds simple enough but it was just so good the perfect amount of sweet and a hint of mint. It was so incredibly refreshing I almost didn't mention the food. Anyway it's crazy hot out there please stay hydrated and try this tea if you like that sort of thing.

Yelp
Delicious downtown bbq! This place is small with a few tables inside and outside and just a few employees. I had the big hoss sandwich with Mac and cheese. I would have done without the pimento cheese spread and pickles, so I know that for next time. The brisket itself was flavorful and delicious and a large portion. Bun was yummy too and mac and cheese was great. It was a great value in my opinion about $15 total not including a drink, for the amount of meat you get I thought it was a good deal these days, I've spent the same amount on a deli sandwich.

Yelp
Take me back Tennessee, Tennessee ain't no place I'd rather be take me back to Angry Barnyard for that lean tri tip & brisket okra Mac n cheese please and Friday catfish shrimp po boy... bomb

Chris B.

Yelp
Authentic Barbecue... if your looking for a taste of the south I would recommend stopping by here to get your fix on good Southern Bbq. The ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. The service was fast and efficient.... No complaints. The ambiance as well is a west coast feel with a southern spirit. I would definitely suggest anyone to come and try this food if you want the real deal

Marcos M.

Yelp
If you like Barbecue and all the fixings that go along with it, this is the place with a little twist. Kind of small eating area , but good eats .

Patrick T.

Yelp
Angry Barnyard is so angry that they are pissed off enough to charge people an obscene amount for a piece of meat. I saw this place on one of the news outlets that feature places to eat in Bakersfield. I remember the news women eating an order with briskets, chicken, Mac n Cheese, and Collard greens. I thought to myself that looks good. The owner was featured also and she mentioned that their food is based on being from the south and therefore they're all about Southern hospitality. Well, I know times are tough and this place failed on all points. Walked in to pick up my online order of beef briskets which was $18 plus dollars. I was hoping for a decent amount. But the employees sure weren't welcoming nor southern. Strike one for the lack of southern hospitality. I saw that they had slice of sweet potato pie and it was $3 and change, okay not too too bad. I paid cash for that pie since I already did an online order for pick for my order of briskets. I then opened my container that was given to me for my $18 dollar order of brisket. I was saddened to see that it was one darn piece of brisket. What???!!!!! Are you kidding me?!!!! $18 for this!!!! How about some sides?!!! That pie could've been included. I already have a bad taste for Bakersfield, this just added to my hatred that is the armpit of California. People of Bakersfield, you can keep your bad atmosphere and bad expensive brisket. I will never be back.

Amber G.

Yelp
Tri-tip sandwich and barbecue beans or 10 out of 10 so good, customer service was a little too salty. Can't wait to go back and try more

Rochelle A.

Yelp
Good plus good service definitely recommend to try it out if you live in Bakersfield

Julie M.

Yelp
Everything was sooo good !!!! Loved the tomato pie and the catfish was amazing, cheesy grits too

Stan W.

Yelp
I came here for lunch, and it was fairly busy. They do have outdoor seating. I ordered the brisket, chicken, beans & potato salad. I did not get the chicken however. I was served pork ribs. When I went to the counter to inquire, I was dismissed and was told "you ordered the ribs". It wasn't until I had to pull up my receipt that they changed my ribs to chicken. The brisket was great. Juicy and full of flavor. I lived in Alabama for a decade, and I was surprised Angry BBQ had White Sauce, and it was as good as I've had back at Gibson's or Dreamland. They also serve big portions, so come hungry. Another delta was the few flies hanging around inside the restaurant. Price: $28.75

John H.

Yelp
We went for lunch and got two meals. The pulled pork sandwich and a loaded potato with chicken. If you have an appetite, this is a great place. Service was quick and the portions generous. I had the Alabama white sauce on my tater, and that's got some great flavor. All this for under $25.

Mary R.

Yelp
The tri tip was delicious, but I probably will not be coming here again. There were many options on the menu to choose from, when it came to ordering, there was only tri tip, chicken, and pork. There was no brisket, and some of the sides were not available as well. The mac... the Mac was very dry and highly disappointing. I don't know if they need to use better quality cheese or a different method of cooking, but the Mac seemed to be over cooked. The chili was alright. Overall, the food was underwhelming. As for the BBQ sauce, it was hard to determine which sauce I was using, and I don't think they had all of their sauces available. It was hard to tell which sauces were out because the labels were kind of gross and faded. Some of the staff were very nice, some were not. I will not be returning.

Ken B.

Yelp
I've been always pretty happy at the barnyard. I've only gone way angry a couple times when they forgot to thank me for my business other than that pretty darn good.

Looo J.

Yelp
It's angry alright. I have never had well seasoned pink pork ribs in my Life . I was raised to never eat pink pork because the meat turns to worms in your stomach. I mean the sides are okay it's a mood thing. I'm not going there again but you should try it and prove me wrong

Tanya H.

Yelp
Very delicious pork ribs and the bbq sauce is very tasty. Everything was so tender falling off the bones delicious!! Always return for the delicious food here...

Karla O.

Yelp
Angry Barnyard not only has great BBQ they also have the best chicken baked potatoes ! You have to try it. I was definitely not Angry after my delicious meal there.

Eduardo G.

Yelp
The food is definitely good. Their pulled pork with their sassy southerner sauce is delicious, but the cashier up front was the most rude and unwelcoming individual I've met. Told her it was my first time there and she was super cold and very short with her recommendations. Didn't really give me much to go off of, so I cement with a safer option on what I would think would be good. This place could definitely get better if the person greeting and taking orders was much more friendlier and welcoming.

Joy M.

Yelp
Service was horrible and the cashier was VERY rude. She rushed me to order and there was NOBODY in line behind me. Practically snatched my card out of my hand for payment. And her entire demeanor was RUDE! Made me and my family feel unwelcome.

Jaime C.

Yelp
Heard about this place by word-of-mouth. Very good! Highly recommended. This last sentence is to meet the minimum word count.

Emily K.

Yelp
Not only are the staff friendly and welcoming but the food is beyond delicious. There isn't a thing on this menu that I wouldn't recommend. I've been coming here for a little over three years and I've never been disappointed. I don't have a photo of the potato salad because I devour it every time but they turned a life long potato salad hater into a potato salad lover. The brisket is another I don't have photos of but they've changed my mind on brisket as well. I've always been a tri tip fan but their brisket is worth it! 1000/10 would recommend to anyone!!

Sandra P.

Yelp
Ordered a smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving Day! And Ohhhh I'm so glad I did! It was delicious! Amazing flavor, tender and cooked to perfection. I have yet to try their restaurant menu. But I plan on doing that super soon! Thank you Angry Barnyard for making my Thanksgiving extra easy and special.

Delores T.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience on my first visit that I picked up lunch for my son and daughter in law. The food was brought out quickly as I waited in my car which was awesome because my grandson was sleeping in his car seat! While the food was being prepared a gentleman came out and took my debit card and ran it while I waited! My kids absolutely loved the food! We will be back!

Aaron J.

Yelp
I was tempted to give 3 stars but maybe the experience was due to showing up early and on a weekend. The place is small and quaint. Exactly what you would expect of a local bbq place. The stressed wood covering the walls and the antique style lighting was spot on. I ordered the big hoss with potato salad. I expected a much larger portion based off the name but it was sufficient for a lunch. The brisket was cooked well and had good flavor. The potato salad was above average and paired well with the brisket. The wife ordered a sampler type meal which came with tri tip , chicken, cowboy caviar, and potato salad. The tritip was cold, dry, and very chewy. Inedible as far as my taste goes. The chicken was slightly overcooked and dry. I'm hoping that these were leftovers from the night before as the quality was lacking. The staff were very helpful and friendly! I will be giving this place another try on a busier day and time to see if the food is fresher and better prepared.

Joseph R.

Yelp
I got a tri tip sandwich w/ a side of potato salad. The tri tip was like an inch thick and half gristle, the golf ball-sized potato salad blob was tasteless and under salted. Just really bad on all fronts. No cutlery/salt/pepper/napkins included. My wife got the beignets - inedible raw dough There's a guy with a white bbq food truck a couple blocks down who makes the best tri tip I've ever had, but the truck was closed when we went.

Carol G.

Yelp
This little hidden gem was amazing! The food and service were top notch. We went early and had little to no wait. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the ribs.

Carolyn W.

Yelp
I will give them No No 0 Zero This is a business that closes their door no ribs no nothing all sold out. They keep the phone off the hook then you ask them a question they look at you like they can't answer the question. I will take my business elsewhere. They lost it I am planning a big bash and my husband wanted to try this spot before we make a decision. Apparently not. I will never come back to this place that sells nothing and they don't know nothing. The restaurant place for nothing so sad

Dustin M.

Yelp
We've been eating here almost every weekend for about two years Excellent customer service excellent food Just remember guys, that's a barbecue place. They will run out of food sometimes just the way it is And the owners are supernice people And I love the setup it's small and simple That's all you need for barbecue place We'll keep on coming back

Sheldon H.

Yelp
If you want to know why it's called Angry Barnyard, look no further than the woman running the register today when my friend and I dropped in. He asked about their pricing, and she almost immediately took a tone that can only be described as a hybrid of condescension and combativeness. There's really no need for that. I'm sure at least part of her sour attitude was because she gets asked this question all day due to their signage. Instead of pricing each item in their a'la carte menu, they put up the amount of $16.50, with "starts at" in the smallest letters known to man. All that's fine, but don't get preachy and defensive when your customers start asking you to explain why theirs is $21 or more. Yes sweetie, we're all aware that brisket is a better piece of meat than, say, a rib. But the chip on your shoulder was there before we arrived. To make matters worse, she took at least three personal calls while we were there. Very unprofessional. Customers don't want to hear you sniping at your kids about the laundry while they're eating lunch. I even tried to lighten the mood and connect a bit on a human level by ordering the fried okra "to see if it's as good as my mama's was." Nothing. Blank stare. Wow. The only thing that saved the day is that the food was EXCELLENT, and in HUGE portions. Honestly, you won't find better barbecue in Bakersfield, and that $21 meal can easily feed two people.

Brian M.

Yelp
Service was friendly, a little slow getting food out. The tri tip was ok, and the brisket was full of fat. I ordered macaroni and cheese, which literally tasted like boiled noodles with some shreaded cheese sprinkled on top, not even melted. The chili beans were the best part of lunch. Not worth $26, Bakersfield has much better options for BBQ. I will not return.

Sara C.

Yelp
Had the pull pork sandwich, ribs, and brisket. It was all good. The sides of chili and fried okra were excellent. Glad we decided to give this place a try.

Lori C.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to have early dinner here. Haven't been back for awhile and I was ready to check it out again. First thing, I know exactly where the "angry" in the name comes from... the woman who was working in the front was completely rude, unfriendly and annoyed at helping us. My friend and I walked in. The woman was putting napkins and utensils together. She heaved a huge sigh and walked to the counter to help us. I asked if they were out of anything, since that was a problem last time. She said, "I don't know. She'll have to tell you." Ooookkkaaayyyy. My friend ordered the Big Hoss sandwich with potato salad and I ordered a plate with brisket, tri tip, tomato pie, mac and cheddar and sweet teas. I paid. Woman said nothing. I asked for cups. She said she'd get them. Annoyed with me, again. The other woman brought out our food. Was friendly. Showed us where to get bbq sauce. We dug in. Food was delicious. We tried three sauces...the white(almost like a spicy, tangy ranch), the Carolina gold(mustard based, I guess) and the Sassy(spicy, sweet bbq). We decided on the Sassy. It had good flavor and I like it with both the brisket and tri tip. The brisket was so tender, it fell apart. The tri tip was a little pink inside and had really nice flavor. I'm totally intrigued by the tomato pie. It's a strange tomatoey/basil taste, but savory and buttery, too. The mac and cheddar is just that. Mac with cheddar. Very clean. Tasty. My meal came with a piece of cornbread that was light and fluffy. Yum. The Big Hoss sandwich was a hit, too. My friend added a little Sassy sauce to it and scarfed it down. We decided the pimento cheese should be served with crackers as a side. It was so good! We finished. I needed a to go box, but was really afraid to ask for one. My friend and I joked about it, but I finally got up the courage to ask that woman for one. She was working on her utensils again. I said, "Excuse me. Can I have a to go box, please?" She stiffened and turned to look at me while rolling her eyes. She was beyond annoyed with me. She sighed. Got up and got me a box. I thanked her. She said nothing. My friend watched this woman's behavior in amazement. He burst out laughing. I just wanted to get out of there. We got our stuff together and started to leave. I wasn't planning to say anything, but a whole other personality came out of that woman when she smiled and said thanks to us. So weird! The food was delicious. The service was beyond bizarre.

Kristian B.

Yelp
Mac n cheese was stale and dry and cashier was rude. But the sandwich we got was pretty good.

Caroline P.

Yelp
This is some of the best BBQ we have had in a long time. Tried the tacos, loaded tater with tri tip & Summer salad & of course sweet tea! It was all delicious! We will for sure be back, so glad we stumbled on this hidden gem! Staff is very nice as well! Thanks!

Taylor O.

Yelp
Angry Barnyard BBQ i stopped by for lunch had the brisket and ribs. 10/10. Great spot to eat. Will be calling them to cater a work/family event soon.

Deanna P.

Yelp
Best BBQ in Bakersfield. We had the Loaded Baked Spud with smoked brisket. They were huge, we took half of them home. Lots of melted butter, chili, cheese and chopped brisket. Delicious. The place is small so we ate at the picnic table outside. It's more a to go place, but they do a few indoor seats.

Jimmy T.

Yelp
This was our first time trying this place. We were hungry and excited to try their brisket and sausage, along with their corn salad. When we got there, the place was a hole in the wall with barely any seating or tables to sit down comfortably. Secondly, when we looked on the Yelp menu they advertised, the price for their "Southern Comforts menu listed all their meats and sides for $16.50, so we ordered 2 of the brisket and sausage, with Mac cheese, cheesy grits and fried okra. We asked for iced tea and the cashier snickered and pointed at their iced container and said it was "watered" down. What a disappointment for a bbq place! It looked like watered down dirty sock water. I know what dirty sock water looks like because I was in the military and we had to wash our own dirty clothes, in the field, and that's what their iced looked like, dark brown, brackish water. Then on top off that they didn't have corn for the corn salad??!! So, we just drank bottled soda. When I checked the receipt the cashier charged me $2.00 per brisket order, but if you look at their menu it doesn't list $2 anywhere, only $16.50! I asked the cashier what the $2 charge was for and she told me, "Yeah, that's for the brisket". I showed her the menu on Yelp and it didn't list the $2 she charged me per brisket. And shockingly she told me, "That's because there was no room to list the $2 next to the brisket" What??!! Unbelievable! So, they can just charge you anything and say it doesn't fit on the menu??!! This is so stupid as stupid gets! I just told her that we don't want to eat here anymore an she refunded me my money except for the sodas! Wow! I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone! See attached picture of their menu and you tell me where does it list $2 for their brisket?

Alexander M.

Yelp
Great brisket and ribs. Tomato pie is a really nice side. I appreciate their help getting it out fast so I could make my train!

George L.

Yelp
Got this order from delivery but I thought the food was pretty good, with parts better than Porkchop and Bubba's (Imma just call it Bubba's) nearby which I'll compare this place to. Although I think the meat was more tender and less dry than Bubba's, all of the sides were kinda weak in comparison IMO. At 5:30pm, which is a hour before closing, expect a few items to sell out. Off topic, but in Bakersfield most places close by 6:30, while where I'm from in Orange County, many places close for dinner at 9pm. When I ordered, they did not have Tri-tip and Brisket, so we instead ordered and rated the following: Pork: 4/5 Pulled pork which was good for most California BBQ. Didn't amaze but wasn't bad. Decent in California, not sure how well this will do in the South though. Ribs: 5/5 Spicy take, but I thought the ribs were great. Had a good dry rub taste and smoked well, which IMO for the price you should always get one if you don't mind bone-in like me. This easily beats the overcooked wet ribs at Bubba's. Pretty comparable to some actual Southern BBQ, and I like it so 5 for that. Sausages: 3.5/5 Again, it's okay for California BBQ, but wouldn't fly in southern BBQ. Harder than expected, but then again it's near closing so I can forgive that pretty well. Mac n Cheddar: 4.5/5 The only good side that I liked. Girlfriend liked a few more though, but I still think Bubba's has a better Mac n Cheese. In general, I think Bubba's beats Angry's sides. Fried Okra: 2/5 I get it was late, but neither me nor my girlfriend liked this. I think it could be crispier or made closer to order since when we got it it was cold. Chili: 3.5/5 It's okay, a little plain imo but not sure if it holds up to the other place. Price was fine for what you get. Since this was delivered I only talked about the food.

Yelp
Omg, what can I say about this place? The smoky aroma is inviting once you pull up and exit your vehicle. It may be in a small building, but the impending flavor that'll ensue your tastebuds is HUGE. When people think of BBQ, a salad isn't what initially comes to mind. However, I like to live dangerously, and opted for the Summer Salad. I chose brisket for the meat, and let me tell you...I did not regret that decision. The bowl it came in was just the right serving, especially for me trying to watch my portion control. My favorite part about this salad, was of course, the brisket! It was so soft, tender, and smoked to perfection! It had so much flavor, I was in love. I will say that it had a considerable amount of fat that I had to remove. It wasn't terrible since I'd rather have flavorful meat with a decent amount of fat, rather than tough, chewy meat that is dry. Overall, the portion was great, salad was tasty, and customer service was good. I will definitely return soon; most likely on a Friday since I want to try their Friday specials (catfish, shrimp po' boy, and beignets)!

Augie G.

Yelp
Probably best smoke bbq here in Bakersfield. Thankful for a place like this in town. Recommended to all

Amber J.

Yelp
The lady with the black hair at the register was extremely nice. I placed my order online and when I got there, my total was more than what it should've been. She fixed it without an issue. I ordered the brisket baked potato. It was good. The brisket was dry and didn't taste fresh I think it would have been better if I would've gotten the barbecue sauce that I asked for

Ikleel M.

Yelp
The woman working as the cashier is incredibly rude. Permanently turned me off from this establishment, regardless of the quality of the food. If all you're concerned about is quality and don't care about hospitality, this place, at best, gets a "C-."

Karen T.

Yelp
Yummy!!! There are lot of table for dining, but they took a little bit long to finish my order.

Yelp
Was a first time customer a couple days ago now and was having trouble finding a good spot so I went on google and looked up food near me and saw angry bbq and went to receive some of the best fall off the bone type of meat, sadly didn't get any ribs they were sold out:( but did try the brisket and pull pork also a (hotling last one too!) and it was so fresh and delicious along with the cornbread omg I wanted to buy a basket of just cornbread it was so good but I felt it would be rude there closing in 20 minutes so I'm definitely coming back for some muthafucking cornbread and ribs‼absolutely recommend this place good vibe and such a beautiful lady in the back cooking up the best meal ever for anyone to enjoy, thanks again! I'll return for more!

Yelp
I ordered the Big Hoss Sandwich and the coleslaw. We ate outside and the food was ready quickly. Everything looks great and I did find a little bit to much of the fat layer in the sandwich for my liking. The pimiento cheese makes the sandwich. I did enjoy the coleslaw and the creamy dressing on it . The bun works with the meat and the cheese well. The restaurant was clean and I found the employees friendly and the restroom was clean. Overall the meal was good

Yelp
The food is good however employees are extremely rude and snobby. I asked for for a large cup and apparently don't have that when they have a tea dispenser right there. As I was eating in many other customers walked in getting there tea. It was a hot day all I wanted was tea but all I got was grim looks from the employees

Yelp
This place is super Cute, I would never have came here if it weren't for Facebook Restaurant comments . I been driving to tehachapi for BBQ so hard to find a good BBQ . This place is delicious an staff is super friendly. When you walk in your greeted right away , with smiling faces. I was shock when I walk in it wasn't busy at all.... But I found out why... They were almost sold out of everything they only had chicken & briskets which is fine I love briskets. I got double order the briskets . You choose two sides I chose Fried Okra an MAC & Cheese , comes with corn bread an pickles, which I don't get the pickles just doesn't seem like they go with the bbq, maybe for decorations. OMG the first bite of the briskets I tasted all kinds of. Flavors, it was so tender an I'm not going lied I moan on my first bite the Smokey flavor , it was made perfection. The Fried Okra was delicious, not hard as a rock an not soft like butter it was fried just right . The Mac an Cheese is very cheesy an good but not great but I still like it . Just reminds me of Mac an cheese from other places. I don't like corn bread, but it was in the meal So I just try it to review it WOW it was so good it doesn't taste like other corn bread there's a sweetness to it , an it was soft , I had a little drool after the first bite. I try their banana cake , it look delicious but it wasn't the cake is dry an they don't really put much on the top it looks good just unfortunately I will not be getting that again. There's no more words to describe how awesome this place is ! I highly recommend this place I promise you, You will not be disappointed!!!!

Yelp
Wonderful food but I call ahead due to the service of the employee it takes longer then it should to tend to you and charge you. I seen the chef complete my order and my meal sit for 5 minutes before the lady ever attended to me while having no other customers there

Yelp
The food is fantastic! More about that in a minute. The ambience is a cool, rustic vibe. It is clear that everything or nearly everything is made from scratch. Two of the people who waited on us were really nice. When we first walked in today, on a chilly day in Bakersfield, both front doors were open. I can relate to that because I'm usually hot when I'm working, but if I'm eating, I like to have things relatively warm. When I asked the person who took our order, if we could close the doors, she gave me an unpleasant look and didn't move towards the doors until I asked again. I don't know, it really rubbed me the wrong way. She did close the doors, it warmed up in the dining room, and it was a good temperature for the many customers that followed my friend and me. So I guess I was good for business. Ha ha. I had the big Hoss sandwich. My friend had a big Moe sandwich. We both had Mac and cheddar and I also had tomato pie. We ate six hours ago. I think I will be full for another 18! The brisket on my sandwich was cooked perfectly, they were tasty, homemade pickles, and just the right amount of a pimento cheese spread. I used one of the spicy barbecue sauces. It was really good. The sides were excellent! The sweet tea was even fresh. Definitely worth returning to repeatedly!
