40 New Restaurants and Bars That Have Opened in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Converting a former Taco Bell while retaining the drive-thru, I observed Angry Pete’s Pizza serving signature Detroit-style pies (including animal-style cheeseburger and bacon mac & cheese variations), classic round pizzas, and snacks like Detroit Coney dogs, quesabirria tacos, and chicken wings." - Candice Woo

Google
Detroit style pizza! We have been wanting to try Angry Petes Pizza for awhile. We tried their Lions, tigers and wolverine pizza and their cheese pizza. Both were great. They had a nice cheesy crust. I was hoping for a vegetarian veggie pizza but their veggie pizza only consisted of pepperocinis and onions. The staff were very friendly and helpful in understanding the menu. They also mentioned we should their chicken strips next time.

Pete's is probably some of the most unique pizzas I've ever seen in San Diego! You can never go wrong with Detroit style, but he always has such interesting and fun flavors too. I recently got his limited time Thanksgiving pizza and it was like a Thanksgiving feast in your mouth! You can tell how passionate he is about his flavors, making everything from scratch!

An old Taco Bell turned into a Detroit-style pizza joint with a drive-thru? Call Bizarro World and tell them to come collect their misplaced restaurant! Just kidding — Angry Pete’s is the real deal. I mean, it’s some of the best pizza I have ever had, and I’ve been to Detroit, and to Italy, and to some weird pizza places in southern Mexico, for what it’s worth. This place SMACKS! The dough is nonsensically delicious. It’s fluffy, airy, flavorful, and acts as the perfect conveyor for the God-tier toppings and sauce that will soon ravish your tastebuds and leave you like a lovelorn adolescent when it’s all over. This is pizza to the nth degree. This is Detroit fighting for the spotlight in the backwaters of Kearny Mesa, San Diego, California. The options are incredible — habanero chicken pizza? Nashville chicken pizza? Birria pizza? Pickle bacon ranch pizza? Chicken Parmesan pizza? Animal style cheeseburger pizza? There’s also craft beer on tap, classic canned beer options, and even Faygo slushies (whoop whoop)! Also on the menu are smash burgers, chicken wings, hot dogs, fries, cheese sticks, and more. Get over here before I show up on your doorstep barking like a madman and waving a Detroit Pistons flag.

Found this spot by accident while working in the area. I know it's a pizza spot but I really wanted a burger so I ordered their $10 lunch special. I forgot to take the before picture of the burger but it was very good. Fresh, made to order smash-burger with great flavor profiles from the beef, pickles and grilled onions. Service was super fast, with no lag time from grille to counter, so the sandwich was nice and HOT! I'll have to come back to try their Detroit style pizzas soon.

Google
Very good Detroit style pizza in an old taco bell building. I loved the sauce and crispy cheese on the sides of the deep dish. You can tell the ingredients were fresh! Also the JoJo Wedge fries are bomb!

Google
This place looks like the old Taco Bell with an interior from the 80's was invaded by a guy who had a bunch of Detroit flags and TV's in his man cave, and knew how to make pizza and get a liquor license. I know this might make Pete even angrier, but the pizza was OK, the slice was small (iPhone 15 standard size for scale) , and the canned beer was not very cold. I'll give Pete another chance because the price was right, and they have a pretty big menu with lots of different choices, but I hope they up their game enough to survive. Too much competition on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. They need to stand out with something to bring in the eaters

Google
A great spot for Detroit Sports Fans but also for all other fans as well. Clean, comfy and with big screen TVs, you don't need to go anywhere else. Friendly and welcoming service. Pizza lovers must try their offerings. Whether you like square, round or by the slice, they've got it all and at reasonable prices. They also offer, Coney Style Dogs with hand cut onions! Wings by the pound too! All made fresh while you catch your favorite team play. Faygo - all varieties in plastic and glass as well as Vernor's. Many beers on tap. Ice cold! Don't forget the fudge! Bring the kids... They have arcade games available to enjoy and to keep them occupied. A fun vibe that's worth the try. Trust me when I say, you'll be back. Thanks Angry Pete's for offering a unique spot for fans to enjoy! Be back soon.

Google
BOMB!!!!! If you guys in the area come thru, pizzas are about $22 but they’re well worth it. Flavor of the sauce is so good, I can’t even describe it. Onion rings are huge, and crispy, You have to come and try it.

Yelp
Amazing food, best Detroit style pizza I have ever had, and great service! Very cozy and nostalgic feel.

Yelp
I've been here 1-2 times in the past and have enjoyed their pizza and cool interior style. Decided to throw my birthday dinner here this year, so I dropped by a few days ahead to ask and they said they could accommodate which was awesome. Talked multiple times on the phone with Jen (thank you!) to set things up leading up to the day (like ordering multiple pizza party packs) and everything ended up being so much more wonderful than I expected. My group arrived on that Sunday afternoon and the staff went above and beyond to set things up, keeping us updated on the pizzas and food, offering to get our drink orders, and then bringing everything out in a very organized time. I went with three party packs so my group got to try 9-10 different pizzas and the salads and wings were enough for our group of 25 or so. All the food was delicious and well prepared, and everyone loved it (with some first-timers planning to come back again). Additionally, when it came time for the cake, they were very cool to keep it in the fridge until it was time, and even assisted with setting up the candles. Overall, this place was so amazing and I was so thankful for their hospitality, food and care. Will always be sure to recommend this place to others, and hope to come back soon. THANK YOU once again!

Esme C.

Yelp
The food was pretty good and all of the toppings together were interesting and it was difficult to choose because of how tasty it looked. I had tried the birria pizza and the lions, tigers, and wolverine's pizza from the party pack and it was filling just from the two slices. The habanero honey that they have in the bottles to put all over your food for free is a nice touch. My cousin threw a birthday party here and they were so hospitable and accommodating. The customer service was always so kind and generous with their love. The worker helping us the most came by to hug my cousin after we said our goodbyes and I just loved the close family feel.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza online, went to the counter to pick it up and they said they'd call us when it was ready. We sat there for 30 mins just waiting to be called. Overheard them talking about waiting on us to pick up our order despite us sitting right there. They even started closing down while we waited so we finally went up to the counter and our order has been ready for who knows how long. Maybe call our names when you say you will so we don't sit there while you act like you're waiting on us. Edit: The food was also not worth the price.

Yelp
A friend wanted to check out this pizza place after he visited Detroit and found a new love for Detroit styled pizzas. Housed in an old Taco Bell, it was definitely a blast to the past that the interior was not changed from what Taco Bell had. Absolutely have a new love for this style of pizza. They had a deal for 2 pizzas for $38, while on the pricier side for pizzas, I wouldn't pass this up. They had a crust was so fluffy and delicious, and they had a solid selection of pizza options for you to order from. I think if we stopped in earlier there would have been slices available in the case for us to choose from vs getting full pizzas. The pizzas were piping hot when they came out, and the flavors were so well balanced. The animal style pizza was definitely my favorite, though could become soggy fairly quick.
google avatar

Vida K.

Yelp
This place is fun! It's inside of an old taco bell, they've done little to remodel. The pizza slice and beer combo I think was under $12 and a good deal, I did leave wishing I had ordered another slice. Overall everything tasted good and I'd go back if I was in the area.
google avatar

Cassidy S.

Yelp
This place was really good! The pizza was amazing! I have never had pizza like it before, we got the blacked shrimp (possible Cajun?) pizza and it was delicious. The decorations were fun to see especially with the 90s Taco Bell aesthetic still strong. The lady who took our order was very nice and answered any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is in the area
google avatar

Joy G.

Yelp
An old Taco Bell converted into a new pizza place but kept the seating lol so cute. Service was good...menu a little overwhelming but was explained well. While we were there - we saw regulars come in so that was a good sign. Food was good. We did a whole Detroit Style which was 8x10 pan. They let us do half pepperoni and half veggie..even asked if we needed it to be cooked separately which I thought was nice. Old arcade games were available to play for free! Overall a great experience. ALSO! They have a drive through!

Lena N.

Yelp
Hey guys this is Lena's fiancé! I usually don't eat out much for lunch but today I went to Angry Pete's Pizza in Kearny Mesa. I saw some reviews about their double smash burger and I had to give it a try. First of all, the bun was light and soft. The two smash patties were cooked to perfect and seasoned well. The edges were crispy and that's what you want to see in a smash patty. There was just the right amount of cheese. The grilled onions added lot's of flavor to the whole burger. Their mayonnaise blend/ in n out style sauce was flavorful but did not overpower the beef taste. The Faygo drink was refreshing and good.. until I found out how many grams of sugar was in it... Overall great burger and experience 4.7 out of 5!
google avatar

Hanafi M.

Yelp
They must be getting ready to go out of business! No pizzas in the display case and "we have no smash burgers." Always a sign of going out of business.

Yelp
When arriving to the restaurant there was plenty parking. The ambience was very casual. I loved the Detroit décor and games they have available at the entrance for customers to use. The cashier was super friendly. Not sure if it was Pete himself, but he did have Detroit tattooed on him, so maybe? Either way, he was so nice! I ordered the smoked prime rib pizza. It was a daily special that is was not on the menu so I got the whole entire pizza Detroit style. It was delicious! Only wished I would have asked for the horseradish sauce on the side. It is a little too potent for my liking. That didn't stop us though. We still ate it all! The side salad had the most delicious croutons . I definitely wanna go back and try more on their menu. Go check them out! You can thank me laters.

Yelp
I LOVE DETROIT STYLE PIZZA!!! I'm all about texture...Detroit style pizza has those crispy cheesy edges have such a delightful gentle crunch! The dough is thick yet airy and crispy. The sauce has nice fragrant robust tomato flavor. It's all so good! I've ordered by the slice and by the whole pan...the later is fresher and crispier, and its almost like buying 3 slices and getting 1 for free. Plus the Angry Pete's Detroit style pizza is so good, and my belly is so fat, that I can eat the entire 4 slice pizza all by lonesome. (I'm not too fat...) $23 Lions, Tigers, and Wolverines...MY FAVORITE! MEAT! Pepperoni, Bacon, ground beef, and basil. It might sound weird, but once it hits your lips, its meat heaven in your hungry mouth. $22 Enzo SS Pepperoni...Pepperoni and fresh basil, simple and delicious. $22 Veggie...I'm not a vegetarian, but this is one of the best veggies out there! $9 Smash burger...two smashed beef patties, grilled onions, thousand island, pretty good! Especially if you need a protein boost. McClures Motor City...tried a slice cause it sounded interesting...pickles, bacon, and ranch...fun! But I probably won't order it again. Ambiance is casual and funny...it's an old Taco Bell! Free arcade games! The Staff here are always friendly. I even ran into Angry Pete once, but he seemed pretty nice...Peaceful Pete?

Yelp
Michigan themed, great food, and even better prices!! Ambiance: The most chill vibe along with that Midwestern hospitality. From what I have learned, the owner is from Detroit and loves to represent the area he comes from. From decor to local food from the Michigan area, this gives mom&pop shop vibes and I love supporting local businesses Bonus: they have some old arcade games which my husband loved! Food: We had the PBR deep dish ( pickle bacon ranch) pizza, Nashville hot wings, coney dog, & Faygo slushies . Shared between 4 this was more than enough for a party. The pizzas have so many specials and our PBR was amazing; excited to try more. I have craved the wings here since I first tried and I have done pick up multiple times now just for the wings, which also have multiple flavors to choose. I recommend their Faygo (a Michigan soda) slushies sooo yummy my fav as a sweet tooth connoisseur is the Faygo white rocket slush. Service: I don't think I have ever met such genuinely kind people working than I have at this establishment. Very nice servers, timely food delivery, never in a rush.

Yelp
The pizza was excellent imo. More customers seemed to come in after 5, when we arrived it was empty. Totally love the inside decor! I'm back in high school because of the retro chairs and benches, never change! Seriously, give these guys a look. It's a large selection that feels overwhelming but the Sausage pizza was awesome.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
My son and I went in tonight... The staff immediately asked us if we'd been in before and explained the entire menu. We had already scoped things out and knew beforehand what we wanted. Everything from here that we had is amazing. We're really happy that an authentic pizza place has arrived in SD. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!

Yelp
Mr. Pete is one of the few genuine business owners out there in a sea of ever constant mediocrity. I first had his Detroit-style pizza at a brewery popup. I finally visited the Kearny Mesa location recently which occupies a former Taco Bell drive-thru and dine-in restaurant. They kept all the former bells and whistles to maintain that awesome element of 90's nostalgia. Motor City is his jam and so many Detroit sports team memorabilia festoons the space. I felt right at home having grown up watching the back-to-back champions, the Redwings, the -- in the words of my father -- "losing" Lions (they takin it all the way this year though!), "terrible" Tigers, and the Pistons (no name to bestow). You'll even spy Detroit-made "pop" called "Faygo" in the fridges. The owner's pride in his hometown is extremely evident! The menu features their Detroit-style pizza but other notable items include their Double Smash Burgers, Detroit Style Coney Dogs, and other Michigan classic comfort foods. You are able to order pizza as a whole pie (8x10 pies or 4-pan slices) or by the slice at $5-6.50ea. During out 1st visit, they weren't in the warmer next to the cash register and it was heated up somewhere in the back. This was the definite preferred method as the pizza slices came out gooey and with crisped up edges. When they are sitting in the warmer under the heat lamp, on the other hand, they are served right away and are definitely without that usual crunch. The smash burger was a surprise sleeper at just $7. Served on a toasted sesame bun, the patties had optimal sear and were not too greasy. Regardless of slight reservations, I have left with nothing but positive vibes. It does one good to support a business owner with what seems like rare passion towards his craft.

Yelp
Delicious Detroit style pizza that's not too dense. Staff was all super friendly and patient with us as we pursued the extensive menu. Place looks like an old Taco Bell but renovated to be a Detroit sports bar. Angry Hawaiian was tasty slight spicy slight but hit the spot just right. Would definitely come back and try out some of their other pies.
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to give Angry Pete's Pizza in Kearny Mesa a try and ordered the Ezzo SS Pepperoni and the Cherry BBQ Chicken Pizza. To be honest, I found it hard to believe it was nearly $50 for these two pizzas. The pizzas looked promising at first, but I wasn't impressed once I dug in. It seemed to be more bread than anything else, with the toppings forming a mere top layer while the rest was just a significant amount of bread. For $50, I was expecting a lot more bang for my buck. If you're looking for a better pizza experience, I'd recommend going elsewhere. There are plenty of spots around town where you can get more for your money. Overall, I hope Angry Pete's can step up their game. With some adjustments, they have the potential to be a go-to pizza joint in Kearny Mesa.
google avatar

Rana R.

Yelp
First time trying Detroit-style pizza... aaand I won't hold it against Detroit, but Angry Pete's was lacking. Other than the "rectangle" shaped pizza, not much else was going for this establishment. Brownie points for a drive-thru pizza spot, though. That's different! Ordered the 8x10 pizza which came with 4 thick slices. We went basic and got pepperoni. Our pizza was a bit burnt but I guess that's part of it? The dough was decent which I appreciated since I love me some bread. This cost us about $22 I believe. Definitely not worth the price tag. Ordered a "1 pound" of wings [$13] which came w/about 6-7 pieces. Nothing special about these wings, in fact, a couple of them were cold, thank the food Gods they were cooked well enough. They were most likely microwaved, you can just tell when food is freshly prepared and this was not that. Ordered a small "Slusheez" & that was decent. The lady who took our order was nice and helpful. The place just seems a little run-down. It was an old Taco Bell, then a Mexican spot then a pizza parlor but nothing about it has changed except the signage. I don't think we'll be back. Sorry.
google avatar

Bernadette S.

Yelp
never had Detroit style pizza so i dont have anything to compare it to. Got a pepperoni slice and the lions and tigers (sausage pepperoni and ground beef). Both slices were good. Nice crispy edges. For 2 slices and canned soda, i spent about $15. I wish the slices would have been slightly bigger, then i feel i would have gotten my money's worth. I opted to do a drive through so not sure how the inside was. not sure if i would return but overall it was tasty.
google avatar

Rick O.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Very family friendly. If you are from Michigan this place is a must.
google avatar

Bao P.

Yelp
Detroit style Pizza in a former Taco Bell? What's not to love? Tastes just the pizza I had in actual Detroit and has a lot of unique options. Fun retro decor and employees who are nice and friendly.
google avatar

Robyn S.

Yelp
I've never had Detroit style pizza before so I don't really have anything to compare it to but overall Angry Pete's is great! Its kitschy decor is leftover from the old Taco Bell it seems to have replaced. Reminds me a lot of the late 80's/early 90's. It surprisingly has a drive thru--how cool is that?!? Also there are board games as well as old-school box video games to play such as Galaga and Atari 50. We ordered a slice of cheese pizza, a slice of pepperoni and one double smash burger to share. The pizza was delicious and I especially loved the crispy, crunchy square crust that had the caramelized cheese on the edges. The burger was ok. I prefer Friendly's burgers if I'm being honest, but I really appreciated that even though the menu at Angry Pete's says "no modifications" for the burgers, they put the sauce on the side since I'm allergic to mayo (which is in thousand island). Friendly's was not accommodating at all so I would pick Angry Pete's over Friendly's any day. It pays to be kind!
google avatar

Jasmine W.

Yelp
Finally tried and it was pretty good. Had one of the Detroit style pizzas $22 for 4 slices is a bit much but I guess that because it's deep dish. The dough was really good and there was very good balance of bread to toppings. Staff were all friendly. The 4 star rating is from the disappointment in the brick sticks. To describe them as "big" I would disagree. So to only get 5 for $11 and they have no pull when you bite into them, which was kinda sad. They were sub par. And lastly I was charged extra for an extra sauce but wasn't even given the sauce which sucks when you get all the way home and realize part of your order is missing. I guess that's a reminder to check your food/bag. Arcade games were fun and a few were free which was fun to play while we waited. The Taco Bell seating was interesting and I guess nostalgic. Environment was clean.

Yelp
!!!Detroit-Style Pizza!!! Angry Pete's square features thick crust, flavorful tomato sauce, and fresh toppings! After our first visit to Angry Pete's, Chun P and I went back to get another pizza to go just two days later, to introduce it to my dad and sis who were hanging out at Kilowatt on Clairemont Mesa. The family loved the pizza as much as we did! Then I made Chun P take me back again a few days later to dine in-house again! My faves are the Enzo SS Pepperoni and the veggie. The micro-basil on top is such a nice detail! Service is always friendly, and the ambiance is a late 80s/early 90s old school feel. Angry Pete's is my new fave place!
google avatar

Yelp
Feel like this is a very unique place not just for this area but for San Diego. Not many places that wear Detroit on its sleeve quite like this and the menu is a collection of the greatest hits for the Motor city. I do like the variety of their menu and feel like this would be great especially for kids who all want something different at the same time. The food itself is good across the board; I'm not a fan of bready pizza which Detroit is but it was still tasty and fresh. The smash burger again was good too but definitely not the best and could stand to have been thinner and have the cheese better melted. The wedges were surprisingly good and crispy for being so bit. Nevertheless I enjoy the meal with my wife and we got to try a little bit of everything. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Detroit style fast food but I'll be back for the food and to try and few more things.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Came here and got a slice of Nashville Hot Chicken Detroit style pizza and a double smash burger. The Nashville hot slice wasn't (spicy) hot at all, the edges were crispy with crusty with cheese as you'd expect from a Detroit style pizza. The slices were kept under a heat lamp and then reheated which is fine, like any pizza by the slice, but I've had better Detroit style pizza. I think the way to go is to get a whole Detroit pizza so its made fresh. The Double smash burger was ok. I'd say it was a cross between In N out and The Friendly's Dirty Flat Top. It was a very meaty burger like the Dirty Flat Top with the caramelized onions (no lettuce or tomato), but it had thousand island dressing like In N out. It was much bigger than both burgers but lacked something from each. Service was friendly, they brought the food to my table when it was ready. There were some video games in the corner, other reviews say they are free but I can't confirm that. If I knew they were free, id have played a few games. Sounds fun. I guess if you have kids this could be a win win. Free entertainment while you wait for your pizza. They have both thick pan type pizza (Detroit Style) and thin crust (Roman Style) pizza as well as some other Detroit favorites like Coney Island Dogs, Smash Burgers, chicken wings and Faygo Pop, a Detroit based Soda. They have lots of parking just turn when you see Indian Motorcycles.
google avatar

Nina A.

Yelp
Yum! This place is an old Taco Bell that was remodeled into Angry Pete's. We came on a Friday evening. It wasn't too crowded or busy. I noticed board games by the door for customers to enjoy.. also video games. They have a menu filled with goodies for everyone. Detroit style pizzas (basically a deep dish) and the Roman style, which I'm not exactly sure what it entails since we didn't order it. They also have burgers, wings, coneys, merchandise and sauce for sale. The cheese sticks were amazing! It was a melt in your mouth kind of cheese along with the marinara. We split a Birria pizza. It was delicious! Service was good, the ladies behind the counter were super friendly. I'll come back soon!
google avatar

Matteo G.

Yelp
Pretty good deep dish Detroit style pizza. Also ordered their regular round pizza and would not recommend at all. Stick to the Detroit style and you won't be disappointed
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
We ordered some food to go and we pleasantly surprised how tasty everything was. We had a double Smashburger it wasn't the prettiest burger but it sure was delicious. It tasted great, very flavorful and good tasting meat. We also had the round vegetable pizza. It was also delicious, lots of cheese and the crust was great! We will definitely get takeout from here again!
google avatar

Van P.

Yelp
Ordered online. $22 for a pizza, I'd expect a decent size one. What I got was basically personal size pizza. After tax and TIP, it came to $30. For a personal size pizza! I wont be coming back.
google avatar

Javier B.

Yelp
Pizza Detroit or Roman style Detroit style thick bread Roman is thin crust Parking available Restrooms inside Free arcade machines Detroit sports decorations Friendly staff Drive trough available Lots of seating but it fills up on the weekend Sauces for pizzas Order/pay upfront and then find your seat Tables were all cleaned Two televisions playing sports Not loud

Jose G.

Yelp
I just left Angry Pete's and let me tell you, this pizza is worth the trip...... there goes your excuse. I enjoyed the cheese pizza and it was phenomenal, the pizza eats exceptionally light and had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, the sauce had a nice tang to it and was flavorful. The young lady at the register was very polite and answered all my questions with a smile. The inside is a little eclectic but works.
google avatar

Samuel M.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, I really like the crust, especially the edges. My personal favorite is the angry Hawaiian, just the right amount of spicy
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
Listen. I understand that this place is a bit overwhelming...it's an old Taco Bell with string lights and Detroit flags all over the walls. And the menu is big. BUT don't let that deter you because the pizza is delicious!! Detroit style with fluffy and crispy dough. Tons of toppings. And the staff are super friendly. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
Pete's is the best pizza in all of San Diego!!! Great deals, all the favorites and some unique items on the menu. High quality ingredients make great food. Not to mention Pete and all the staff are just awesome. Free games for the kids and live sports. What more could you want? Maybe a Jolly Pumpkin, Founders, or Bells.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
I came by for lunch in the area and was excited to try it out! I opted for a lunch special which includes a slice of any pizza and a soda pop. I chose lions and tigers which is sausage, pepperoni and ground beef? The soda pop is a Detroit based soda. It was honestly way too sweet for me, but nice to try a sip!
google avatar

Kathy R.

Yelp
They don't honer their own offers and deals... I got couple of discount vouchers of their store, but they only honer one of them!

Nick D.

Yelp
Finally a great pizza worth the drive. The Detroit style pizza is like a Sicilian style.

Christopher T.

Yelp
ATTENTION ALL EAST COASTERS!! I am originally from NJ, this is as close as it gets to an east coast Sicilian slice of pizza!! Get your ass to Angry Pete's!! The dough is light and the crust is facking perfect! I had the four cheese slice and pepperoni slice. Thank you for making my day your pizza was amazing!
google avatar

Eva L.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great prices. Friendly staff. Had the thin crust pizza which was actually normal crust compared to the deep dish Detroit style. Cherry chicken wings were amazing too! Will definitely come back.

Teresa S.

Yelp
Very friendly and great customer service. Will definitely be coming back to try out other menu items

Yelp
I honestly don't know why this place does not have lines out the door. I always pass by this place looking for some restaurant to eat at during my lunch break and I've always seen it empty. I decided to give it a try and I am not regretting it at all. I ordered the fantastic four Detroit style pizza through the drive-through and I am a fan. The pizza was pillowy and crunchy on the outside. The sauce was on point not too sweet and not too tangy, and the cheese was out of this world I will definitely come back again for more.

Yelp
The menu is crazy. We got the lions, tigers, and wolverines pizza. It has pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. The pizza was good. The crust was light and fluffy. We also go the Detroit style loose burger. It was not my cup of tea. For some reason, I thought it was hotdogs. I was wrong. It was a sloppy Joe on a hotdog bun. There is plenty of seating and parking. Has video and board games inside. I will definitely be coming back to try the other pizzas.

Yelp
Love the old school Taco Bell decor. I think it gives that nostalgic, family, fast food vibe that is what this place is! It's not going to be a fancy sit down spot but the pizza will be bomb. We ordered 4 slices: 2 cheese, 1 cherry BBQ chicken, and 1 lions tigers & wolverines. There were a few people before us but our food came out quickly and the slices were made fresh! The crust is perfect and I love the crispy cheese bits on the corner. Sauce was great too. We also ordered the potato wedges but they weren't anything special. My husband wants to come back to try a burger but I can't wait to come back for more pizza! Glad we have a good spot in Clairemont now.

Yelp
Great food for a great price served in a laidback atmosphere. Lots of good comfort foods to choose from. Plenty of craft beer taps and even more bottles. Can't go wrong here!

Yelp
Ordered last night through Postmates, got the pepperoni and a Caesar salad, tasted fantastic but our bodies did not agree. Within a few hours I was stuck in the bathroom and I'm still miserable. My husband has a stronger stomach than I do but he's feeling awful today too. It was the only thing I ate yesterday so easy to pinpoint food poisoning. Our toddler who ate something else is feeling great. Super bummed because I was looking forward to working our way through the menu.

Yelp
Blast to the past to the 80's. Great Detroit Pizza with reasonable priced burgers, conry style hot dogs. A business worth supporting.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and great quality! They are super quick and have amazing customer service. Always a good selection of beers on tap. I also love the look of the place and the retro games they have.
