The 19 Best Vietnamese Restaurants In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Don’t expect to order any phở at Anh Hong, which you’ll realize as soon as you see the small “No Pho!” sticker on the door. Instead, look to the bánh hỏi at this casual big group restaurant in the Outer Richmond. These make-your-own rolls combine fresh ingredients with just the right ratio of smoked meats and tangy sauce. They’re served with a heaping plate of mint, basil, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, and loads of nước chấm. There are eight different fillings, but we like the grilled shrimp with a nice char and the slightly sweet grilled pork of the nem nướng the best. And make sure to also get the excellent bò tái chanh on your table." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

Vietnamese friends told us about Anh Hong Saigon so we went with another friend. the seven-beef course is minimum two orders, but that was fine. a great deal of food and we talked and ate and talked. the waiter was super helpful: told us about the dishes and how to eat. brought more dishes but didn't bother us. by 1p on Saturday, it was full. go and order the seven beef course. only a few places offer this.

Google
The food is good, but highly overpriced. The "7 courses of beef" is $40 per portion before tax and tip, and there is a minimum order of 2 portions. The same dish at Anh Hong in San Jose is only about $30. If possible, I would recommend going to their San Jose branch instead of Milpitas.

Google
So great to find a Vietnamese that actually serves the 7 Beef Course in the Bay area. I thought this specialty could only be found in Vietnam. We surely ordered their 7 Beef Course (2 orders minimum for this set), with a couple of other side dishes. The taste of the 7 beef course was surprisingly authentic from the wrap, the beef dishes to the sauce. I felt like I was back to our hometown and was enjoying this with family. Other dishes were amazing, too. However, it’s quite pricey for $37 for one order. We enjoyed it nonetheless. And, one thing to note is that their kitchen closes at 8:30pm despite the restaurant’s close time is at 9pm. After 8:30pm, they will refuse to serve any new guests, so please plan your visit accordingly.

This is the first time for us to try the famous 7 course beef dinner. We were duely impressed with the quality of the various dishes. Definitely a fun experience enjoying with your friends and family. Minimum 2 orders needed for this set course dinner but frankly it's enough to feed 3 people IMO. The vermicelli appetizer was awesome too. Two thumbs up.

The first time I came here must have been over 10 years ago. I don’t think the items changed, but prices must have gone up through inflation. The first course was the house special beef salad. The beef was scarce or so minced that some folks thought it was chicken or pork. It was quite refreshing, but felt that the beef disappeared. The second course was the lukewarm pot shaba-shabu style. The heat was low and took a while to cook the rare beef. Not that the beef needed to be well cooked. The idea of this was nice, but the reality was different. Then came the heavy weights and probably the stars of the 7-course beef: One plate that had steamed beef patties, beef sausages, beef rolls and beef wrapped in leaves. With the 2 kinds of fish sauce (one that looked almost nasty but packed a punch of shrimp paste) as dip, these four different beef items were delicious. The dipping of the rice paper and adding veggies and meat to create the wrap was fun initially, but I got lazy later on. The staff forgot about the last course until we asked - the beef porridge. The porridge was flavorful, but I had only one thin beef strip in it. We also heard that the cat fish was good so we got a medium one. I’m not a cat fish person, but I felt it was tasty enough. I was lucky to try this dish as we had a huge group. Overall, not a bad meal, but for the salad and the porridge, beef was an after-thought. They could have replaced the beef with another meat and it would not have made much difference. I gave this place 3.5 stars. The service was lacking since it was a busy Saturday night. A few people had asked for chili sauce 2-3 times, but it never came. Since we had 10 people, the service fee was automatically added at 20%. With a required 20% fee, I expected better service. Thus, rounded down to 3 stars. It’s good to try it once, but probably don’t need to go back often.

Google
Reliably some of the best food in the bay, always make a point to try to go if I’m near Milpitas. Favorite type of Vietnamese food. Their beef rolls are delicious but also if you have a big enough group their entire roasted fish is out of this world.

Google
My favorite place for beef 7 courses. The grilled beef is juicy, tender and flavorful. Extra credit for the extra clean veggies coming with the course.

Google
Their 7-beef course is very good. We also enjoy their 'cá nướng' - grilled fish but you need to have a party of four or more to finish everything. Paris Baguette next door is a perfect stop afterwards for a nice cup of coffee and pastries.

Yelp
Anh Hong has long been a local favorite--and for good reason. We've been coming here for years, and they continue to deliver consistently great food. On our most recent visit, a group of six of us dined in, and we all left full and satisfied. The dishes were flavorful and fresh--exactly what we've come to expect from Anh Hong. Prices are on the higher side, but considering the quality (and inflation these days), it's totally understandable. One thing we really appreciated was the honesty of the staff when recommending dishes. They didn't try to upsell or steer us wrong, just gave solid suggestions that fit what we were looking for. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Delicious food, honest service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Still one of our go-to spots in Milpitas.

Yelp
My family has eaten at Anh Hong for most of my life- either at this location or in San Jose. Whenever we have a family get together or something to celebrate, Bo 7 Mon (7 courses of beef) is usually an option. For 5 people, we usually order 3 sets of Bo 7 Mon and everyone leaves perfectly full. You can get away with ordering 2 sets and supplementing a la carte (the grilled fish is a fun item). They allow you to substitute one of the seven items, so we always substitute the cha (meatloaf) for additional Bo Mo Chai. The food here is pretty consistent and I prefer the accessibility of the Milpitas location over the San Jose location, but I did notice the San Jose's chao (porridge) was better. I do wish this location would renovate and upgrade the interior. For a restaurant with this pricing, they should change the interior away from the traditional pho restaurant look. Ditch the paper napkins, old menus with typos, and outdated furniture for a more upscale experience.

Yelp
It has been years since I've had 7 course beef, and I'm glad I finally got the chance to try it again. Came here through my parent's recommendation, and did not disappoint. Full restaurant on a Saturday night and luckily not much of a wait. Service staff were constantly checking the tables and giving quick service. Food was pretty good, the vegetables were fresh, clean, and crisp. The beef was good. It was $40 per person for the 7 course beef, which is a little pricey but I enjoyed it! I would come back again.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese meals is Bo 7 Mon. Great place to come with a group. Amazing value and great food. The 7 course meal is $39.95 per person. I always leave feeling stuffed. Service is decent and usually never a wait. Glad that they extended their dinner hours. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Ambiance is good, service is great. The fried fish was very good but the fried rolls were not.

Yelp
An update as it's been a while. L O C A T I O N Anh Hong Saigon is located in a plaza off of Calaveras Blvd with the Paris Baguette and Grocery Outlet. The parking situation here can be very difficult as there are a few popular restaurants so coming on the weekends and/or peak lunch times can be a struggle. I N S I D E It's fairly standard inside. It hasn't seemed to change over the years. A few larger tables for larger groups and smaller ones of course for smaller groups. M E N U The menu hasn't really changed and of course do not expect to get pho here. This is not a pho place. We had a group of 5 people and ordered the 7 styles of beef as well as the sugar cane shrimp (chao tom banh hoi), banh xeo. I feel like the 7 styles of beef is still the same. A lot of food so you can always do the minimum 2 servings and get other food which is what we got. The shrimp on a sugar cane was good. Fun to chew the sugar cane. The banh xeo was too crispy and quite oily. I think after having garlic sensitivities, it was a very different experience this time with the 7 styles of beef. We still liked the sausages for sure. But I think I appreciated the beef porridge more than the others. I took the rest home. S E R V I C E It wasn't too bad actually considering it was the weekend. It wasn't packed. There were still tables open. We got all our orders in a timely manner. Easily paid by card. O V E R A L L Anh Hong isn't a place we frequently go to. It's a once in a while, celebratory type of place where you can enjoy some of your standard Vietnamese dishes and of course the only place we've found that has this 7 styles of beef. So we'll be back again one day!

Yelp
This is a long overdue review. Anh Hong Saigon has been here in the Calaveras Plaza Shopping Center for years. They are close to Paris Baguette, Tofu House, Grocery Outlet, etc. They specialize in a seven-course specialty beef experience. Plenty of parking spots available in this large plaza. They used to post a note on the front door. "They do not serve Pho!" The dishes were delicious and was a great casual dining experience. It opened up my Vietnamese food experience. 1. House Beef Salad. 2. Beef in Wine Vinegar Fondue. Interesting flavor, but i did like it. 3. Steamed Beef Patty. 4. Grilled Beef Sausages. Flavorful 5. Beef wrapped in Loc Leaf. 6. Beef Roll with Onions and Lemongrass. I was familiar with this dish as I had it before at other restaurants. I liked the tender beef but dipped it in the nuoc cham. 7. Beef Porridge. I am not a big porridge fan in general. Support your local business.

Yelp
Valentines Day with a party of 12 they do not take reservations, it's first come first serve, 6pm ish & lucky enough, we were seated within 30mins Winning Located in a shopping plaza, with a lot of other restaurants & stores, Yes there is plenty of parking but, Good Luck on finding one near where ever your wanting to go, if you have to park & walk, than park and walk, you'll be OK. Authentic Vietnamese food, lots of flavor & yummy! you'll need patience & actually put in work in order to enjoy the meal. Everyone working, is very helpful & friendly, if you have any questions about the menu. A great experience if you've never been & I know for sure, this is not a place for kids, because you trying to fix their food & yours (nope) I'm trynna enjoy my meal unless you have the patience, than you'll also be good. I will definitely try the other dishes on the menu or any other restaurant like this.

Yelp
Mediocre Food, Disappointing Service -- Not Worth the Hype We visited Anh Hong Saigon for a special occasion -- my mother's birthday -- and unfortunately, it was a very underwhelming experience for our family. We don't dine out often, so we were hoping for something memorable and enjoyable. Instead, we left disappointed and frustrated. We arrived around 7 PM on a Sunday and were told the Bò 7 Món (seven-course beef) was their most popular item. However, we were informed that it's required to order a minimum of two servings at $39.99 each. So essentially, it's $80 for a meal which could've been advertised as so. The TWO servings also supposedly only fed 2-3 people. The "courses" were small portions of different meats meant to be wrapped in rice paper with assorted herbs. While some of the meats were Vietnamese staples, none of them stood out. Two of the items resembled sausage in shape and hamburger patties in taste. We also ordered the shrimp bánh hỏi, which came with three bite-sized pieces wrapped around sugarcane and four tiny discs of bánh hỏi -- for $31. The price-to-portion and quality ratio was hard to justify. But what really ruined the evening was the service. When we asked the server a few questions about the menu, she seemed annoyed and gave short, impatient answers. It made us feel unwelcome. At one point, my mom even said, "It feels like they're treating us like people coming from the countryside, who don't belong here." (in reference to Vietnam) Despite their attempt at a fancy, upscale ambiance (black tie uniforms, classical music), the service lacked grace. Two servers repeatedly interrupted our meal to clear plates, reaching over us at a large round table. This happened so frequently it became intrusive. At one point, they even asked us to hurry and take the last piece of meat from the pot so they could remove it. They began cleaning around us and clearing sauces while we were still eating. My mom kindly asked for more pickled vegetables and was met with an annoyed grunt from the male server -- loud enough for our whole table to hear. The worst moment was when we put down our card to pay. As my mom was still finishing up her plate, two servers began aggressively bussing the table, even tossing a dirty plate from another table onto ours to stack, while ignoring our credit card/ check. There was no rush -- the restaurant was not busy and plenty of tables were open. It felt like we were being shooed out and it honestly could've waited 10 or so more minutes, AFTER we've left. This was supposed to be a joyful birthday dinner, but the uncomfortable service and mediocre food made it anything but. Sadly, I can't recommend Anh Hong Saigon, especially for a special occasion.

Yelp
We went to Anh Hong Saigon to celebrate a friend's baby shower and it was fabulous! The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the fish and two orders of beef for 6 people. My eyes were clearly bigger than my stomach as was my confidence in building spring rolls (I filled the rice paper with as much as possible until it was bursting at the seams but it was still super fun!) They bring you several other courses with the order (soup and salad). It's a casual environment and family friendly. Would definitely return!

Yelp
A busy, popular location! I would say most come here for the Seven Courses of Beef Meal. I came here with my family and I would recommend getting a reservation if you can. The wait can be very long especially on weekends! Once we made it inside, there were just so many big parties and the aroma of food just hits you. The menu is pretty vast, but has a good amount of options to choose from! It's not overwhelming like other Vietnamese restaurants. My family and I came here to get the Seven Courses of Beef and believe me when I tell you that it is worth every penny! We honestly ordered too much, but every course we picked was so good! Don't worry about not knowing how to wrap, because the staff is more than happy to explain how to do it. I loved the experience of making my own rolls, the amount of veggies I can put, the meat, etc. the meats were so good and juicy, the veggies were fresh, and the quality overall was just amazing! I love that you can get refills on the veggies because I definitely had to get a few plates. My wrapping skills def. got better with each one I made. Haha. Overall, the vibes were great, the staff is friendly and attentive, it's clean inside, and the food quality is so good! My family and I are definitely coming back and bringing any of our out of town guests here! Highly recommend this place & definitely recommend going with a group! Share the food and the experience!

Yelp
I've been to Anh Hong in Milpitas at least a handful of times over the years. I would argue that the food isn't as good as the original Anh Hong in San Jose -- I can't seem to pinpoint the main differences but I can tell only because I grew up eating at the SJ location. For sure, the dipping sauces are much more diluted at this restaurant. Anyway, it felt like 150 degrees outside so we wanted to have dinner that included lots of fresh vegetables and herbs so spring rolls came to mind. Upon walking in, we were seated immediately and ordered their standard '7 course beef' meal for two. Each course came out promptly one after another as we kept rolling our spring rolls the entire time. I probably ate a minimum of ten spring rolls jam packing them with lettuce, herbs, cilantro, cucumber, and pickled carrots and daikon -- so refreshing and crunchy with every bite! I'm adding an extra star because the service is much better at this location compared to Anh Hong San Jose. Our two servers had great humor and maintained fantastic hospitality even though there was a full house by the tail end of our meal. With gratuity, it was about $100 for the two of us which isn't entirely bad considering prices these days. We didn't finish all the food so packed about half of it to-go to enjoy for lunch the next day. Support local small businesses y'all -- they survive and thrive through our patronage.

Yelp
Where's the beef?! They got it here. Enjoy 7 courses of delicious beef served in several ways. Prepare to get your hands ready to wrap your food with tapioca wraps/Banh Trang with pickled carrots, bean sprouts, fresh cucumbers and dip into fish sauce/Nuoc Mam. My group enjoyed and had a great experience here. Service was top-notch and attentive. 1. Goi Bo - Beef salad 2. Bo Nhung Dam - beef fondue 3. Bo Cha Dum - seasoned beef patty 4. Bo Cuon Mo Chai - grilled beef sausage 5. Bo Cuon La Lot - grilled beef wrapped in Piper Sarmentosum/Betel leaves (leaves with a subtle unique peppery taste) 6. Bo Nuong Xa - Beef roll with onions and lemon grass 7. Chao Bo - Beef porridge. You will leave full and happy. I ate here for lunch and was still too full til the next day.

Yelp
i love the cook here, just noticed they are no longer taking large parties over 9. Incredible food and business Thanks for staying open after all these years! 7 course beef is truly authentic & the best in the area!

Yelp
This restaurant is quite unique in what they offer and quite an experience. My group and I tried the 7 types of beef meal set and it was quite experiential. The cost is per person for this is about $38 before tax/tip. Each dish that came was unique. The hotpot part was delicious. The whole meal is taking the different forms of beef and wrapping it in rice paper and adding some vegetables to it. It's refreshing. It is quite a lot of food. Having the porridge to end the meal was refreshing and calming. Definitely would recommend this for groups and for trying new experiences.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite places. This Vietnamese restaurant does not have pho as indicated by multiple signs. Instead, many of their dishes are designed to be wrapped in a spring roll wrapper. I had a taste of the Crepe, which is not designed to be wrapped, and the Gà Nướng Bánh Hỏi and the Tôm Thịt Nướng Bánh Hỏi which were. Both wearable items were flavorful. The crepe was a good size and had a crusty texture. The service was very responsive and fast. And the ambiance was fitting.

Yelp
The bo 7 mon here is the most worth it. 2 orders ($36 pp) for 3 people is more than enough and very delicious. Of course, note a lot of peanuts in case of an allergy. This time we decided to get the fried fish ($75) to make rolls with and it was very crispy with fried onions, garlic, etc. To me a little heavy on the honey to make it crunchy, but the rolls always come with good veggies that you can get more for free. Service is fairly attentive, but note that although they say they close at 8, they stop letting people sign join thr waitlist at 7ish. Expect to wait at least 10 mins on weekdays, likely much more on weekends.

Yelp
It was a last minute decision to stop by for lunch. The food was pretty good but kinda over priced for the portion size. Service was okay, seemed like it's a family run place. Not sure if I would come back though.

Yelp
Food (3.75/5): My party of 12 and I came here on an early Friday evening and we ordered ten 7 Bo Mon (7 course beef), which was sufficient food for all of us. There was a beef papaya salad, beef slices that you cook in a hot pot, beef prepared 4 different ways, and finally a beef porridge. They also give rice paper and veggies so that you can make spring rolls with the beef. As a Vietnamese person, I don't think there was anything standout to me, although every dish was decent. The porridge was actually a bit too runny, and I expected more flavor from the beef prepared 4 ways. Our thinly sliced beef also struggled to cook in the hot pot. Food was okay, but it was about $40 pp after tax / tip, which I'm not sure if would be willing to pay for again given the quality of food served. Service (4.5/5): The staff were very attentive to our table, constantly refilling vegetables and waters for our large party of 12. They all seemed friendly as well. Ambiance (4.5/5): The place has a nice ambiance inside - very clean, and your table will have new clean brown paper placed atop prior to being seated. The bathrooms were clean as well.

Yelp
Service here is so quick and efficient! The servers are receptive, attentive, and hardworking which makes the experience of eating here feel very smooth. My friend was raving about trying the 7 ways beef course (apologies as I don't know the actual term; my friend ordered and didn't let me look at the menu ) It was a lot of food! We definitely got a delicious and healthy intake of protein from this meal. In order to enjoy a lot of the beef dishes, we wrapped the meat with vegetables and herbs in rice paper. Overall, the meal itself can be a bit "laborious" but I personally enjoy when there's time to chat while we wrap our rolls. It makes the whole thing both an activity and a meal. I think the beef itself is not insanely flavorful, but the experience served at the price is worth it. I recommend coming here as a group and ordering approximately 2 portions of the 7 course beef for 3 people to indulge just because 1 portion is a lot for 1 person.

Yelp
The best place in South Bay to get 7-course beef "Bo 7 Mon" and authentic Vietnamese food!! I've gone here a few times and all times, my party got the 7 course beef (about $37.50 per person). For a group of 6, we got 5 orders and that was PLENTY. Service is quick and the servers are very attentive with clearing our table when we've finished one of the entrees and for water refills. The FOOD IS DELICIOUS. The beef (a part of the Bo 7 Mon/7-course set) is so juicy and flavorful. If you haven't tried this set, it includes: - pickled cabbage salad with beef pieces - sliced beef (you cook it in a small hot pot) - 3 kinds of vietnamese grilled beef (the main course) - ends with beef porridge All of these can be eaten individually or in a spring roll as they give small spring roll wraps, veggies, and pickled carrots to put in your spring roll. They don't accept reservations and there's only 3 large tables for groups larger than 4-5, so definitely plan ahead if you have a big group. Parking can also be a struggle since the plaza is shared with other big name restaurants, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I found it so funny that they advertised in the front that they don't sell pho. They have some real authentic Vietnamese dishes that I've never seen or tried before, so super glad my friend found this place. I've come here twice now, and both times I've ordered the beef 7 ways with my friends. The portions are huge and they give refills on the lettuce, herbs, and side dishes, which was unexpected but lovely. The servers were so kind and patient with our big group. We had a lot of food coming to our table as we had 7 courses. The first course was something similar to a papaya salad. It was refreshing to my taste buds and I couldn't stop eating it. The next course was so unique. They give you a sizzling pot full of vinegar and you cook pieces of raw beef in there then eat it. So delicious! The next 4 courses come together on one plate. I'm not too sure what these were, but 3 of them looked similar to sausages but had their own unique flavors. The one wrapped in banana leaf was my favorite. We essentially wrapped these meats in rice paper with some cucumbers, bean sprouts and pickled vegetables. We topped it off with some fresh herbs like cilantro and mint. The 4th course on this plate was some sort of egg cake with mushroom and beef. My friends loved it so much that I barely got any. To finish off the meal for the night, they give beef porridge. There were bits of ginger and scallions in there that gave it a nice kick. Such a healthy and filling meal! We didn't even need to order one portion per person. We had 12 people and ordered 10 portions of the beef 7 ways and that was more than enough to make our entire party full. I love this type of food and will for sure be coming back!

Yelp
This is located in the same plaza as Daeho. It's a very busy plaza especially on Fridays thru Sundays. First timer here but I've had a similar 7-course beef meal before at a different restaurant years ago. FYI, they do not take reservations so be ready for a wait. For 5, we ordered: - 7 course beef: includes grilled beef sausages (3/5), beef wrapped in leaf (3/5) beef roll w/onions & lemon grass (4/5), steamed beef patty (3/5), house beef salad (4/5), beef in wine & vinegar fondue (4/5), beef porridge (4.5/5) - fried catfish spring rolls: 5/5 - loved how crispy and meaty the fish was - beef carpaccio: 5/5 - super flavorful and tasted yummy and healthy - extra banh hoi noodles: 5/5 Overall, we def over ordered but it was great to have variety to try out all the different ways the beef were prepared, cooked, and served. They also throw in a basket of fresh greens/mints too. Thing that I didn't like was the fish sauce, it tasted a bit funky.. not sure if it was bc it's homemade or it was simply bad.. Service was super attentive and they even got us refills of our greens/mints and rice paper wraps.

Yelp
This spot was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad that I brought my parents here to try. Everything was fresh, yummy, and delicious. FOOD: - Chao tom: must get with the banh hoi. -7 beef course: this came with a variety of dishes with beef including hot pot, salad, congee, and 4 different types of grilled beef rolls. The grilled beef was so juicy and flavorful and even came with rice vermicelli, rice papers, and lots of fresh veggies. The last course was the beef porridge, hot & flavorful. -Ca Nuong: we got the medium size cat fish which was moist, crunchy, and flavorful. It was so big for 4 people that we couldn't finish it. SERVICE: Our server was attentive and brought out everything quickly. The service got busy when the lunch rush started and we didn't see our server again after a while. Ambiance is casual, family dinner style. My parents were a fan of the fresh herbs and sides that they refill. Delicious food and great service. This is the spot to take your family for a nice comforting meal.

Yelp
I feel like most of the good Vietnamese restaurants nearby are located down in South SJ so this is a nice treat to have Anh Hong Saigon here in Milpitas. They have a big parking lot but get packed during lunch and dinner time because of neighboring restaurants like Daeho and Jang Su Jang. The restaurant has lots of tables inside so wait times are very short. Service is quick and the 7 courses of beef are very filling. Almost every dish is packed with flavor. You are given complimentary veggies, spring roll papers, noodles to wrap your meats inside. The veggies, spring roll papers and noodles can be asked to be refilled. You start off with the beef salad which tastes sweet and sour. I like to wrap this in my spring rolls instead of eating it by itself. Next is the fondue beef where they serve you a small plate of raw meat to dip in the small hot pot to cook. This was my least favorite since I found the meat to be on the dry side and had the least flavor. The next plate has 4 different grilled meats. All are very good! The last of the course is beef porridge. This is also one of my least favorite since I'm not big on eating porridge. I find it to be plain as well. If you are seated on a smaller table I noticed they would have side carts to place your veggies, spring roll papers, noodles and sauces on. I found that to be nice and convenient since the table does get full with all the courses. For $35 per person, which you have to order at least a minimum of 2 I feel like it's really a good deal. I came with 4 people and we ordered for 3 and still had extras to take home.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant! Have not tried something like this before, so decided to try it out. The restaurant was super busy, with most of the tables full. The ambience of the restaurant is a bit swanky, but nothing crazy. I think most of the folks that were at the restaurant were Vietnamese, and to me, that's a great sign haha. We got the seven courses of beef menu. This came with a variety of dishes, including a hot pot, salad, congee, and 4 different types of grilled beef rolls. I would say the beef salad and the beef rolls were my favorite dishes off of the menu. Especially the beef wrapped in some type of leaf. The grilled beef was SO juicy and flavorful. It was honestly amazing! I truly recommend trying this place out for a very unique experience and food!

Yelp
This was my first time here! I enjoyed my experience. It felt just like eating with my family. I really enjoyed all the dishes and honestly would come again. A great spot of you are hosting a lot of people! I came with my friends and we all left full! My favorite dish was definitely their porridge. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
This is my 2nd time at this location with my family. Each time we went on the weekend, it's super crowded. They are optimistic regarding seat wait times but it usually goes pass the estimated time, especially when you have a larger group. We asked the server while we waited for a table to order a medium fish first so it can arrive in a shorter amount of time when we get seated. We ordered the 7 course meal x2, along with 2 side orders and the medium fish. That was able to cover ~8 adults and 2 kids with leftovers. The food is delicious, the papaya salad has a good peanut crisp and feels refreshing. The main dish is to eat the fish in a wrap that you prepare on the table. My other favorite is the bo la lot, it's a lemon grass beef wrapped in a green leaf. The service was quick to get us our 7 course, we would see a server here and there occasionally. Overall, the food is awesome, I love it every time, they do have another location in San Jose if this one is crowded as an fyi.

Yelp
Ordered beef porridge which I suspect the ground beef/pork was raw. Color of the meat is still red from what I saw. The waiter told me that's the color of beef (uhmmm, cooked beef should be black). They did offer to change to another dish which I appreciate, hence the 2 stars. Being a pregnant woman, I really hope no food poisoning or tapeworms happens to me. But if you eat here, just be mindful that things like this can happen.

Yelp
I had a party of four that came in about an hour and a half before the restaurant closed, and there was still a decent wait time (Saturday Night). We were seated about 30 minutes later, just after the peak dinner time passed. The restaurant was packed, but the seating was decently spaced. The service was great, and they were all very attentive to quickly meet our requests! The food had came out quickly and we were able to start eating shortly after we ordered. We did not order the seven course meal set but we opted to order separate items such as the grilled beef sausages, beef fondue and egg rolls. All of the dishes were delicious and with a generous helping of vegetables we were left satisfied and full. The four of us had eaten through the two initial plates of veggies, and they had refilled it with no extra cost.

Yelp
They are very well known for 7 courses of beef but if you want something different, try the whole fried catfish. We ordered the large one and I believe it is $90 and it's good enough for 4 people. It takes 30-45mins to deep fry the fish so you can either order it over the phone or right when you get seated. The fish was very crispy and with all vegetables provided for you to make your own roll. The service was great! Everything came out very fast, you can ask for more vegetables without extra charge. They will check on your table often and clear out empty dishes.

Yelp
We came right at opening 4pm Saturday to avoid long wait time. Clean and spacious restaurant. We ordered 3 orders of 7 course beefs for 7 adults. We were full and had leftover. Sauce was so good and addicting. Wrapped the meat/veggie/noodle in rice paper and dipped in the sauce. Yummy! Worth the drive from SF. Next door to Paris baguette. Plenty parking spaces.

Yelp
Food - 10/10! I always get the grilled pork with vermicelli sheets. So yummy, so healthy. I could have it every week. Service - 10/10! They are very efficient and friendly. Shout out to Ray, he is awesome. Ambience - 7/10 It is one of my favorite restaurants in the area!

Yelp
Hands down the BEST 7 course meal! Also love the crispy catfish. The secret to the delicious meal is in their house sauce. I love it so much I even purchase their "Anh Hong Mam Nem " at my local grocery store. My friends and I have been here more than few times, I'm not from the Bay Area. And each time, we thoroughly enjoy our meal. Delicious food, friendly staff and David the owner is always hospitable.

Yelp
Came here for thanksgiving and HANDS DOWN the best 7 beef course dinner I've ever had. Their banh xeo are soooo crispy!! I can see why the price is on the higher side. We got the 7 beef course and we enjoyed every single one of it service was fast and attentive !! The atmosphere definitely felt like a mixture of high end restaurants with a touch of Asian decor.

Yelp
Finally tried out Anh Hong Saigon and we liked it so much! We got 3 orders of 7-course beef, grilled chicken and some appetizers for a group of 5. It was more than enough for us. We definitely enjoyed sharing everything and wrapping our own food It gets busy so make sure you come before rush hour! What we ordered: Bo 7 Mon, Ga Nuong Banh Hoi, Banh Xeo, Egg Rolls

Yelp
I love Bo 7 mon (seven course beef) and this is by far the best place in the Bay Area for that! It's basically DIY spring rolls with delicious meat courses and lots of fresh herbs and veggies. All beef courses are delicious but my favorite are the shiso beef rolls and the porridge. Very authentic Vietnamese food and good service/ambiance. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Service was great, the DIY spring rolls were fun and very refreshing to eat. My picky kids lived it! I think this is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant now!

Yelp
We came in for early dinner. Order two things on the menu, Com Boo Lau Loat $8.50 grilled beef rolls in lot leaf and roasted grilled catfish. They both came with lots of sides like a dish of green herbs, a basket of rice paper, rice noodles, pickled radish and carrot, beansprouts and cucumber, dipping sauce you can mix in to create your own. Ambiance is like causal and family dinner. Service is decent and fast. Everything tastes authentic and delicious. Lots of meat in that catfish!!! Love the herbs and sides are refillable. The wait staff brought us some more soon as we were low on them. They gave us tons of rice paper too. Very generous amount indeed. We took all the leftovers home for another decent meal. Totally recommend this place in fact my Vietnamese friends so come here with her family on a regular basis!

Yelp
Love Vietnamese food. And the Bay Area are never short of any good Vietnamese Restaurant. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for front /back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean but not up to date. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Vietnamese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietman . Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Yelp
I love this place already. It was my first time dining this past week. The food was soooo good. I'm still craving the catfish spring rolls. We ordered the whole fried catfish spring rolls and the beef rolls to share for 3. It was A LOT of food. We had enough to take home to make 3-4 more spring rolls plus they refill your veggies, rice paper wraps, and sauces to go (no refill on rice noodles though). It was also just really fun making your own spring rolls. The service can take awhile if you order the whole fried catfish so be prepared to wait. I'll definitely be back soon ¨

Yelp
I'm in Milpitas today. I'm familiar with the Anh Hồng in East SJ, that been around forever. I have some personal history with the Vung Tau Restaurant on E Santa Clara St., Anh Hồng on Tully Rd., and Nha Trang Restaurant in East SJ. I just never been to this location until now, it's newer. I finally got my Bò 7 Món. Bò 7 Món is a delicacy, a seven course meal made with all Beef. I always looked forward to something like this. It requires a party of 2 or more. The only other activity that requires two people or more is when I pop a bottle at a nightclub sometimes. To start off the House Beef Salad was fresh and crunchy. I actually like Bò Nướng Vĩ slightly more than Bò Nhúng Giấm. Bò Nướng Vĩ is closer to Korean BBQ, Teppanyaki, or Fajita. Bò Nhúng Giấm is interesting, I guess it's appropriate to describe it as a Fondue but with a Vinegar based Bone Broth. I've had a lot of variations of Bò Chả Đùm, and it's a meatloaf or patty that's very difficult to prepare without a proper steamer designed just for this. The Bò Mởi Chài reminds me of a Kebab, Shawarma, or Gyros. Bò Nướng Lá Lốt is like the ultimate street food, it reminds me of Dolma. The Bò Nứơng Xả that I know of cooked at home, would've been like what's in Bún Bò Nướng or Beef Vermicelli Noodles and rolled up with Turnip and not just Onions and Lemongrass. And I don't know what I like more, Beef Porridge or Fish Porridge. What would make this Congee better is Century Duck Egg. Also, sometimes a good substitute for Congee is Lẩu Bò or Beef Hot Pot. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.4 stars.

Yelp
Okay as you can see, I only have one picture from my dinner course at Anh Hong because I couldn't stop myself from devouring my meal. You can choose to do 7 courses of beef which is what they're known for, or you can choose a la carte. We chose to do the 7 course (go big or go home!). We got cá nướng da giòn (grilled roasted catfish) as a la carte. They serve bánh tráng (rice paper) and all your spring roll veggies along with the course for making a spring roll out of all the dishes. They start you off with gỏi bò (house beef salad). Second to come out Bò Nhúng dấm (thinly sliced beef carpaccio) - this one reminds me of shabu shabu but the broth is red wine vinegar fondue. Thirdly, Bò chả dùm (steamed beef patty). Next, they give you the 3 different types of beef rolls: bò mỡ chài (grilled beef sausages), bò nướng lá lốt (beef wrapped in Hawaiian leaf, and bò nướng xả (beef rolls with onions and lemongrass). To finish everything all off, they serve cháo bò (beef rice porridge) at the end. I recommend coming hungry with a group of people or family members because you need to order minimum of 2 orders. I really enjoyed my time here and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Ate here in person several months ago and also got takeout a few weeks ago. Their seven courses of beef is legitimately good. All the local Vietnamese eat here so you know it's authentic. It's more economical to order the entire 7 courses of beef than to order al a carte, esp if you like variety. Highly recommend. There are a few other items that are not part of the 7 courses of beef. Do note this is NOT a pho place. There's even a sign on the door that states that too. Note for peanut allergic ppl: don't go here. Many items have peanuts on top or stuffed inside, etc. There's no way to avoid.
