My buddy was excited to take me here (on a Saturday, for lunch) knowing I'm a big fan of good torts. We both got the red chili burrito and I got some tortillas.
Everything was wrong that day, maybe an anomaly, but being my first time... well, I'll not be returning.
Burrito - Pretty big, but had like 2 oz of extra stainey-red juice that went everywhere and stained everything. Kinda bland too. Maybe because it was a white guy and an Asian they thought we'd not be chili people. Or maybe just not a spicy dish. Took quite a while for what it seems it should have, only two other couples ahead of us. Maybe 15-20 minutes or so which would have been no biggie had they delivered the goods. 1 - 10 ... maybe a 4.
Tortillas - they said they make them to order, ordered with the meal. Didn't come with the meal. Went in after the meal and they said they'd get them going. So, I stepped out to talk to my friend across the street from the front door where we were parked. The male employee comes out 3 minutes later, stops at the sidewalk, holds up the bag. Didn't come 20' across the little street, but stopped and basically said come and get 'em. They were't warm at all so I'm like, man, just wanted some fresh friggin' tortillas, is that too much to ask? Got home and checked them out... 3 or 4 of the 12-pak were partials, kind of gnarly looking and some were kinda dirty-looking as if from the baking stone was pretty dirty (hopefully...) They didn't look appealing, tossed in the trash.
So that's my first time at Anitas. I see lots of good reviews, so must have been an off-day for the kids working there. I'm not the picky PITA customer either. Friendly, positive etc. But I know service and I know food.
