15 Vienna Virginia Restaurants the Northern Virginia Neighborhood Loves to Visit | Eater DC

"Vienna has the original location of this mini-chain that specializes in New Mexico-style cooking, which means lots of dishes are bathed in red and green chile sauces. Don’t sleep on the sopapillas or the hearty breakfast options." - Missy Frederick

We are so happy to learn of this restaurant as there aren’t many Guatemalan restaurants in the area. We decided to stop by with my Mom and kids and we loved the restaurant! We highly recommend it!!! 🇬🇹🥰

Had a late breakfast/early lunch here. It’s where Joes Noodle House used to be. Great food. Great price. Genuine place w nice proprietor Loved it! After you go, if you like it, spread the word. This place needs the business bc it’s new. It’s a keeper. I’d like to see it succeed so it stays around for a good long time

Yelp
Great new place! Also, the best deal in town! I have eaten here a whole bunch-o-times morning, noon, and night and it is consistently delicious, nutritious, digestible, filling, and warming for the heart and soul, body and mind, so I find! Delicious dishes, friendly service, pretty fabric on the tables, and a selection of flags and artwork adorning the eating area's walls and ceiling. I find this to be an easy place to go to -- so many restaurants are so much work, especially the newer ones in this same area that have icky screens instead of humans you're supposed to interact with. This restaurant, on the other hand, is 100% human! You may enjoy a QR code menu. I do not. You may like standing and ordering from a big screen on a wall. I do not. I prefer a human recognizing my face -- and in this case, I have even found that my previous orders are remembered! That's not guaranteed, of course, but when I ask about something and am told I've had it before, it does help! Magnificent! In fact, I feel like taking a break from writing this review to run out and try something new there right now! I haven't had the plain baleada yet, ha ha! I am very much looking forward to it. ( Okay, so sometimes when I write a review, I get hungry thinking about the food! This is the first time, though, that I actually went out and ate at the restaurant I was writing about before finishing the review -- to give you an idea, it's that good! The baleada simple, by the way, is excellent! Not only that, it is more than one -- and super-duper filling, so I found. Mmm .... ) Nothing I've tried has been a disappointment in any way! Oh, and the drinks are great, too. My fave is the tamarindo .... The chips are light and totally different from any I've had elsewhere -- they feel much healthier and more wholesome, not greasy and overly-filling the way so many places' chips are .... Really, nothing is amiss in this place and you can't go wrong! Highly recommended! Yay! :-D Oh, bonus if you like travelling and feeling like you're going somewhere else, stepping into another world -- it's like that for me, at least! What a relief from the hustle and bustle of sometimes overly-electric Rockville and the D.C. area, East Coast, entire U.S., etc., ha ha! Why not take a culinary trip to Guatemala? It's here for you!

Yelp
First time eating Guatemalan food! Friendly staff and quick service. They explained the dishes we didn't know. Food was unique and tasty. We got: -Chicken chuchitos (similar to tamales but fluffier and saucy) -Garnachas (thick fried corn tortillas with ground beef and pickled veg- fun to eat, great crunch from the fry) -Chucos (sandwich that personified fusion - guacamole, chopped hot dogs and steak, pickled veg, ketchup and mustard. The fries on the side were freshly fried and so good!)

Yelp
A great casual restaurant with excellent latino food and friendly service. The prices are reasonable!

Yelp
Our first (but not last) visit to this new Guatemalan restaurant left us happy and smiling. Everything here is unpretentious, except for the food itself. It is somewhat similar to Mexican food but, in our humble opinion, better. For starters, my wife and I shared the potato empanadas. The standard plate includes four of them, and they are large, excellent in taste and actually also include pork. I ordered as the main dish the chicken breast in mushroom sauce. It is a large plate that also includes rice (which when mixed with the sauce is heavenly), fried bean and salad, as well two freshly baked corn tortilla. My wife ordered stewed chicken, which also comes with the same additions. Also, a very good dish. Service was quick and cordial. We made a point of coming here again, at least once, to taste other plates on the menu.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place. This place is a Mexican and Guatemalan restaurant. We tried the Guatemalan tacos (similar to the Mexican taquitos), Guatemalan enchiladas, stuffed pepper, and quesadillas. It was really good. The stuffed pepper plate came with rice, refried black beans, salad, and one freshly made corn tortilla. It was delicious. Clearly a new restaurant and unexperienced staff. However, they make up for this by being very polite, respectful, and attentive. The menu simply says stuffed pepper and doesn't mention the goodies that come with it. About 10 tables. Give it a try
