MF Sushi Chef Chris Kinjo is Opening Two New Restaurants in Houston | Eater Houston

"Planned to open this fall on the ground level of the Hanover Autry Park residential tower, the French–Vietnamese wine bar will offer 56 seats, a 16-seat bar, and a covered patio; its name pays homage to the precolonial term 'Annam,' and Kinjo with managing partner Dung “Lang” Nguyen will serve Vietnamese-style tapas with French flair using globally sourced ingredients." - Megha McSwain

A lovely place, very friendly waiter, we had a nice chat, tried the super spicy and the regular ones — both were absolutely fire.

The place itself is calm and quiet, which makes it a nice spot if you’re looking for a peaceful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was not very good, it felt inattentive and could definitely be improved. The food I ordered also lacked seasoning; it came with no salt at all, which made the experience disappointing. Overall, a nice environment but let down by poor service and bland food.

ANNAM is a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. The restaurant is located in Konstruktorska, area of the city and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is top-notch. The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of dishes to choose from. However, the standout item on the menu is the dosa. It’s crispy, flavorful, and served with a variety of chutneys and sambar. The dosa is a must-try for anyone who visits this restaurant. The restaurant also offers a range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that are equally delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, ANNAMis a great place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great dining experience.

We went with friends after a long time to this restaurant. We are South Indians and we had ordered vada, paneer dosa, punugulu, Mysore bonda. None of this was good. Vada felt like it was made of urad dhaal and maida.. the bonda was entirely maida. The sambhar was sweet tamarind water. The dosa was made of raw paneer and salad like vegetables. The punugulu had no salt. Only the two chutneys were good. The kashmiri pulav was just sugar water with dry fruits in basmati rice. The mattar pulav and biryani had more of food colours than flavour. Only decent thing was dhaal makhani. I would never recommend this restaurant to any friends. Horrible experience.

I recently tried the Dosas at Annam Restaurant and they were fantastic. They were cooked just right - crispy on the outside and soft inside. The fillings were flavorful and the chutneys served with them were really good. Every Dosa I tried was delicious and well-made. We also had refreshing sugar cane juice, which was a perfect complement to the meal. If you're looking for a place that serves good Dosas and refreshing drinks, Annam is definitely worth a visit!

Service sucked,, waiter was argumentative , no hospitality experience staff..will never go there. There regular lunch vegetarian meal and non vegetarian meal has same curry sauce. Visit at your own risk.

Had A nice inexpensive South Indian meal here. Ordered vadas, a paper masala dosa and a mango lassi. The food tasted decent but the order in which the food came flustered me a bit- in a backward direction - first the dosa came (the main course) then when I was almost done with the dosa, the vadas came and finally at the end the mango lassi showed up. The dosa was crisp but not warm or hot and the edges were already getting cold. The waiter was polite and kind but perhaps they need to improve their organisational skills a bit. Total cost 60 zloty (14 euros).

Disappointing Experience! Dishes lacked the spices and bold flavors that define Indian cuisine—there was barely a hint of cumin, coriander or garam masala or any spices actually, so nothing felt authentic or memorable. Even classic favorites like butter chicken tasted watered-down, as if the masalas and spices had been forgotten altogether. The service didn’t help matters. Our server was polite but distant, offering little warmth or enthusiasm; it felt more like a chore than genuine hospitality. The dining room itself was bright and clean. On the plus side, the Mango Lassi was silky-smooth and perfectly sweet, offering a brief reminder of what this menu could aspire to. With richer spice blends, more aromatic curries and a friendlier welcome, this restaurant could truly shine. As it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone craving an authentic Indian dining experience.
