Google
This place was absolutely amazing. Coming from someone who has dined at other Nepali restaurants, this has to be the best overall for food quality and price! My Nepali friends agree as well. I wish they were closer to me since I do live about an hour away. Our bill was only $111 for 5 people!! I would definitely recommend this place to others, especially if they’re coming from the annual APAHE conference which takes place 5 minutes from the restaurant!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The service was amazing, very friendly workers and they are very kind. The food was also so bomb, it was nice and hot when it came out, and I can’t wait to eat from here again.

A very regal space that seems to have always been, Annapurna is a delightful little spot for Nepalese and Indian food. The ambiance is hauntingly spacious and it was empty when we went there. The waiter assured us that they were slammed and soon we saw a line of Uber drivers picking up orders. We didn't get papads gratis and the ones we ordered weren't garnished with onions and tomatoes and chills. The dal soup, however, was mildly spiced and very flavorful. The pakodas were ajwain seeds forward as were lacking in flavor, but did well in terms of crunch and size. The malai koftas were delectable and probably the biggest and most spherical I have ever seen! The sauce was not spicy and very flavorful. Went well with the rotis. The vegetable biriyani was spicy on the tongue and quite good, but this is no Hyderabadi style dum biriyani and more of a functional all spices and vegetables type. Overall it's a nice place for comfort food, but it could definitely use some sprucing up with regards to the drinks selection.

Google
Ordered for a office Birthday Lunch and everyone was satisfied. The owner and staff took really good care in making sure all of my order was in the bag and labeled. My team wants to go dine in next time! The Naan was made just right. Food had enough flavor and spice as well. The area is nice and easy access as well as the ambiance. Thank you to the owner and staff!

Google
Sometimes pure luck guides to a restaurant off the beaten path in an area of town we wouldn’t normally visit. That’s how we arrived at Annapurna’s, and we are glad. We were surprised at how few tables were actually occupied. One other table when we came in and two more tables as we ate. Yet there were more than 20 vacant tables. This restaurant deserves better patronage - as an aside they seemed to have a thriving delivery clientele which maybe keeps the kitchen busy. We had two vegans in our party so we enjoyed a selection of vegan and non vegan foods including Momo and Pakora to start. I had Lamb Tikka Masala as a main course, it was delicious. They lost a star overall and on atmosphere because they were out of two of the beers on the menu. Small point but important.

Google
Authentic place. The Paneer Pakora (fried cheese) was tasteless and bland… I don’t recommend. Coconut Naan was absolutely delicious, I definitely recommend this, and the Lamb Vindaloo was also very good.

Tried this place for the first time. I love momos so anytime I see that on a menu I have to try it. Ordered the mixed momo, samosas, and mixed tandoori. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the quality and quantity of food given the price. There were only 7pcs of momo for $12.99 which is a lot less than any other nepali restaurant for a higher cost. Also the momos were very heavy on cumin. Out of veggie, chicken, and lamb momos, the chicken ones were better. The samosas were okish. The tandoori looked a lot better than it tasted and it was definitely not worth the $22.99 price tag. I understand inflation and wouldn't have minded the cost if the food was better. Maybe the other items are better 🤷‍♀️

Google
I had lunch here after passing by this restaurant many times. Wow what have I been missing. Delicious and juicy tandoori chicken! Garlic naan and rotti to die for. Love this place. Very reasonably priced at around 16-20 for an entree. 10-12 for momos. Great service and clean. If you’ve been on the fence definitely give it a try.

Yelp
Located at the corner of 10th & Clay, I've walked past this place many times and opted to have lunch here with a colleague. As shown in the photo, this place serves Indian and Nepalese Cuisine. The Chai tea is decent, the interior decor clean and fresh with a gorgeous bar and a pleasant vibe excellent for one on one conversations. For appetizers, we tried the mixed Nepalese dumplings (chicken, lamb and vegetarian) or Momo. They are served with a tomato based sauce and were excellent. For the main course, I had the chicken Marsala which tasted delicious. For lunch, this place is a tad pricier costing $80 for 2 after tip but you'll leave filled up. Excellent and friendly service. Would come here again.

Yelp
After month of passing this, and noticing it says nepalese food, decided to try. I ordered dahl makani and since they had momos decided to try and mixed or and also vegetable briyani as I wasn't sure if regular rice came with it. The momos were ok, definitely need the sauce. Wish they had chii momos. I was quite suprise with the color of the dhal makahni, because I'm used to the black dahl and kindey beans in it. This was made with mung beans and the color was like a light/yellow avocado green. It was tasty, but definitely made for the non-indian palate. The briyani, I've had better, and was a bit dry. I would come and try something else and if I have time, eat in, as I love the decor.

Yelp
Came in with a friend because he was curious to try and never experienced authentic Indian food!!! The place had no music, somewhat empty but actually a lot of delivery pick ups . Service was friendly, however i ordered a chai I got used sugar packet in the bunch. The chicken tikka masala and the momos were awesome! Lacks a few minimal details but the food was good, 4.5 I would recommend and I would return

Yelp
Super sweet people! They were really nice, attentive, and took great care of us. The inside was quiet and had nice decor. Naan was delicious and the flavors were great. Maybe we were hungry and should have ordered more but portions were a little small. Can't wait to come back and try more! The momos were calling my name

Yelp
Was craving indian food. Tried the indian food. Loved the indian food. Spur of the moment, really craved indian food and decided to come here with a friend. We ordered samosa, fish pakoor, chicken korma and naan. For beverages, chai tea and mango lassi. Im pretty basic. I like my naan. I like my rice and my go to is tikka masala. But for some reason, this place made me want to be a little bit adventurous and it paid off. Veggie Samosas: two pieces came pipping hot out of the fryer with a side of tamarind chutney. It was filled with potatoes, some chickpeas and herbs. The tamarind sauce had some heat to it and combine it together, it was all very tasty. Fish pakoor: super crispy. Big chunks of white fish and the battery was soooo light served with a side of mint water. I feel like this was the underrated dish. Perfectly fried, the batter was perfectly seasoned and honestly when it was served, i almost mistaken it for fried chicken tenders. Chicken korma: i wanted something creamy but not as creamy as tikka masala from too much dairy. The chicken was dark meat and tender where you can cut it with a spoon. Although came in a serving bowl, there were big chunks of meat and plenty of sauce. It was nutty from cashews, you can see whole spices like all spire and cloves, perfectly seasoned and really delicious. This came with a side of rice. Definitely delicious with a side of naan. I know this joint has been around for a while and im sorry it's taken me so long to visit, but im glad i did! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
***3.5 Stars*** It's pretty tasty! I wouldn't say that it's my favorite Indian food spot, but it's still a good option for dinner if you're craving for some flavorful Indian eats in Oakland. This place has been on my radar for years. I can't even count the number of times that I've passed it by. Finally decided to try it out with a friend and we had a pretty enjoyable dinner. The space is actually pretty large and open. The decor is very classic and beautiful. Reminds me of the Roman/Gothic era. Service started out well but drifted as the night went on. They did get a bit busier so they might have been overwhelmed. We ordered an array for items to share including: *Raita: Nice and creamy but didn't really taste like much. *Veggie samosas: Excellent! Fried to perfection with a wonderful crispness. *Veggie momo: Very yummy! Perfectly prepared dumplings with a tasty dipping sauce. *Chicken momo: Good but lacking in flavor a bit. Surprisingly, the veggie momos had way more flavor. *Garlic Naan: Incredible! Fluffy and garlicky but not overwhelming. *Lamb biryani: Probably my least favorite item out of everything that we got. I'm not a huge fan of lamb, so maybe that's why. The spices were good and flavorful but everything tasted dry. *Chicken tikka masala: Creamy and delicious. Tikka masala is my fave so it's no surprise that this was my favorite dish. The only downside was that the chicken pieces were dry. Portions were good for the price and since we ordered a lot of items, we had plenty of leftovers the next day. So, some things were a hit and others were a miss. Overall, I still think that it's a good option for Indian food in Oakland. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back here again in the future.

Yelp
Don't let the small bowls fool you, the portions are decently sized. We ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala, Butter Chicken, Shrimp Vindaloo, Vegetable Korma, Chicken Momos *not pictured, Garlic Naan, & Herbal Naan. Servers gave great recommendations and they were very welcoming! I will definitely be coming back soon.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't busy at all, but there was not someone in the front of house to seat us. We were seated once someone came out from the back. Food: My friend and I shared the pumpkin pakora to start. It was good, but a little oily for me. I ordered the paneer tikka masala for dinner, and it was amazing. I thought it was really flavorful. We also order the garlic naan, and that was perfect with my masala. My friend ordered the chicken korma and also thought that was amazing. Service: Service was a little bit slow. The staff was often in the back and weren't available or nearby when we needed something. The staff was pretty friendly, and our food came out promptly after ordering though. TL;DR - delicious curries with a little slow service
google avatar

Sawan H.

Yelp
Very good food with a big menu. The Naan was exceptional and had a ton of vegetarian options. I had mattar paneer and the paneer was fresh made and spices well balanced. Really appreciate the staff.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Garlic Naan Bread - Wow, so good; we could eat this all day! Love the flat crisp texture. Mixed Momo - Tasted like dumplings, except with a tomato chutney sauce and a curry dipping sauce. Chana Masala - Ordered medium, and it was so spicy. I suggest mild for anyone that does NOT want to drink a gallon of water with their meal. Mixed Tandoor - My dish, piping HOT (see picture). A little dryer and slightly more over cooked than I preferred, but the flavors were spot on. Also had generous portions. Also generous rice, I did not eat one grain as there was enough starch with the delicious bread. Atmosphere - Cool decor. But interesting bathroom decor...? See picture. Full bar. Good size restaurant with table seating. Street metered parking. Service - Good. Price - $62 + tip; I felt a little expensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2016.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Indian cuisine in a clean, lovely space with stellar service from the moment we stepped into the restaurant--what more could we have asked for? We'll be back soon for more!!!

Alessandra S.

Yelp
Food was delicious! We had the Momos, chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Tikka Masala and an order of the Naan. Everything was flavorful. The naan was some of the best I've ever tried. The decor and ambiance was unique and welcoming. The staff was so nice and provided great service.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday morning around noon and to our surprise, it was EMPTY. It felt a little strange how slow it was but great for us because service was great! They were attentive and food came out super quick. I have to say that I'm quite new to the Indian cuisine. It was never something I really craved or cared for but I'd like to be more open-minded about different cuisines so I thought Annapurna set a really good standard for me. Pumpkin Pakora (3/5): Could've been better, the batter itself was crunchy but the pumpkin tasted undercooked. It wasn't soft and was a bit hard to bite. Chicken Curry (5/5): So good! The bowls looked like it was really small but I think it's definitely shareable between 2 people. It came with a side of rice. We got medium as our spice level and it wasn't spicy at all so would recommend you get spicy if you want more heat. Butter Chicken (5/5): This was also SO delicious! It was very buttery, there was so much flavor! Tip: I recommend you eat it with the rice or some naan cause the buttery taste can get overwhelming. Again, we got medium and it wasn't spicy so definitely get spicy if you want more heat. Garlic naan (5/5): As all the other reviews said, definitely get the Garlic naan! The naan was very garlickly and just great addition to your entrees. This was the best naan out of the other two we tried! Onion naan (2/5): We actually didn't order this. We originally ordered the coconut naan but the server made a mistake and gave us onion instead of coconut. We realized halfway into the dish. This tasted pretty plain to me, which is why we couldn't tell if it was onion or coconut. There was no strong flavor of onion and tasted like just plain bread. Coconut naan (2/5): Had very little bits of coconut naan. You can still actually taste the coconut flavor but it didn't taste sweet. I think coconut naan is supposed to be like a dessert bread. Service: 5/5 stars! They comped our onion naan since they made a mistake on their end when we had ordered the coconut instead of onion. Service was quick and friendly. I appreciated their gesture to making sure things were right and we left happy. Overall, the food is pricey but I think that might be typical of Bay area. I'd love to come back next time when I'm back visiting!

Yelp
I have so many friends who reviewed this and have heard a lot about Annapurna but I wasn't totally in love. I got the chana masala, bhindi, vegetable biryani and dal makhani. I got mild because I've been burned too many times by these bay area indian restaurants but it was actually mild. It felt like it really only had some salt but no flavoring. But the garlic naan was very good. Portions were pretty good and prices are decent so I'll be back to order medium level spiced food next time. I'll report back!
google avatar

Carly N.

Yelp
Had Annapurna delivered for dinner tonight and was so pleased! I wanted to test out some different spice levels of their dishes. The naan is delicious and the meat dishes were so flavorful. Would absolutely recommend this for Indian in the East Bay!

Vavarra S.

Yelp
Absolutely 5 stars. First you notice the service. Perfectly balanced just like the food. Quiet attention from everyone from the moment we opened the door, were. seated by the window, kindly handed our menus and linen napkins, water was poured, our waiter was right there to take our order, and the owner came out to check on us. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, authentic Indian decor. Great atmosphere. The food was exceptional. Many times better than your average Indian restaurant. We had the eggplant, Garam masala and black lentil Dahl. All uniquely prepared. We asked for no spice, and that's what we got. The pure flavor of the slightly sweet, eggplant/potatoes in a delicate creamy sauce was a standout. I'd never had black lentil Dahl and highly recommend it. Delicate and perfectly seasoned, the pumpkin squash was just wow. That's what my husband said. Even the Lagunitas beer was ice cold served in a tall, frosted beer glass. Oh and the nan was truly above average. I know it's only bread. I didn't know there was a 5 star version of Nan. Excellent. A perfect meal.

Yelp
This place doesn't look like much when you walk past it but there's good eats inside, trust. I had the chicken korma which came with a side of rice already (love that I don't have to order a side of rice), I requested spicy for my spice level. It was spicy but not too much that it wasn't enjoyable. The garlic naan hits, 1 order was just enough to share. The pumpkin pakorra was chill, but I wish the mint sauce was more saucy and less liquidy. I prefer when the sauce clings to the item I'm dipping. Service was spotty since there's only a few employees, I recommend sitting near the kitchen so you can flag them down easier. Parking is plenty, and they do sell alcohol so that's neat.
google avatar

Kaelin N.

Yelp
I called in for a large order for the office and they were so accommodating! We ordered chicken nauni, chicken tandoori tikka, salmon curry, and paneer tikka masala pair with garlic naan (and rice, of course). I personally got the chicken nauni and was wonderful. I wish mild had more spice, as it was essentially no spice, but I will keep that in mind for the future. Our order was packaged nicely and ready for pickup on schedule with utensils as well. I can't wait to dine in and try Annapurna at their restaurant.

Yelp
6/23/23 Place is VERY spacious. Almost feels like you're eating in a rich person's mansion in the Middle East. Love how it feels. Alas...... I think this place does the vast majority of their business via online/delivery. There's a table setup for pick-ups up front, and it stands out given how the large room is setup, and there's this huge table right up front. And it's BUSY...... But the restaurant not as much. When we came in there was only one other table seated, but later it started to fill up. However, it took FOREVER for our food to arrive, I assume due to all the online orders... And so our experience suffered. I think it was like 20min for my drink to come and 30min for the first bite, the momos, to come. It just sucks cause if my 3yr old sits for too long while hungry, everyone in the restaurant will suffer. Anyway, the food was okay, mostly a little subpar with the exception of the Tanoor (and you do not want to order any cocktail)... 1. Aloo CauliKo Tarkari $14.99 "potato and cauliflower sauteed with garlic cooked with special herbs and spices": Small portions. Cooked fine but pretty much exactly as described, nothing more. 4/10 2. Himalayan Snow $11 "vodka, sweet & sour, coconut puree, coconut water, soda water, crispy roasted coconut": Didn't taste coconut, but I did taste something tangy. Very strong alcohol taste like a bad Long Island Iced Tea. 1/10 3. Lamb Curry $16.99 "boneless lamb pieces are cooked in house special sauce with different herbs and spices": Lamb was fine, maybe a bit dry. Too lean, need more fat. Otherwise, again small portions and nothing notable. 3/10 4. Mix Tandoor $22.99 "this platter consists of sampling of tandoor chicken, boti kabab (lamb), shrimp tandoor, and chicken tikka, they are first marinated with special herbs & cooked in tandoor oven, served sizzling with veggies": I did love the chicken--very nice dark golden orange finish. Thigh and drumstick were decently moisturized, and probably as good as it gets for this cooking style. Shrimp perfectly cooked and tasty. Forgot how the lamb was. 9/10 5. Mixed Momo $12.99 "steamed dumplings each of 3 pcs of veg, 2 pcs chicken and 2 pcs lamb (8 pcs)": Not well made. One had a hole in it. The skin is dry and hard. Stuffing was standard. 4/10 6. Onion Naan $4.50: Strange. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be, but it was very doughy, almost sorta raw tasting but not. Very dense. Not soft or flaky whatsoever. Almost looks like the skin of a person's very acne'd nose. 1/10 7. Tandoori Roti $3.99: Standard. 5/10 It's alright, but I wouldn't come back. 2/5 #oakland #indianfood #indiancuisine #tandoor #tandoori #chickentandoor #chickentandoori #onionnaan #tandooriroti

Yelp
I was in the downtown Oakland, CA area and wanted Indian cuisine. I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Initially I was a bit skeptical because I arrived at lunch time to discover I was the only patron in the restaurant. I was met by wait staff who seemed rather stoic however granted my request to sit away from the windows which is where he wanted to seat me originally. After all, there were no other patrons in the restaurant, so this didn't seem like too much of an unreasonable request. On this day I visited it was a cold day weather wise and surprisingly it was also rather cold in the restaurant. Perhaps colder inside that it was outdoors. It seemed as if there was no heat source operating in the restaurant and the cold air was uncomfortable. I was also disappointed that the table where I sat had its table cloth soiled with what seemed to be curry gravy. The food on the other hand was delicious. I ordered Curry Salmon and naan. Both seemed fresh in quality and the flavor was authentic. A good food experience and one which I would definitely try again. What is keeping this restaurant from being a 5* is the less than 5* customer experience.

Yelp
Was in Oakland area and was looking for dinner. We originally went to a ... noodle place? I forget, but when we sat down, the staff there left us unattended for like 15min so we decided to find somewhere else - and Annapurna was it. The restaurant itself was well-set and although empty, was busy with constantly streaming DoorDashers picking up orders. As for us, we got the garlic onion naan, the lamb, and the saffron chicken curry. Quality was great - though I always wonder why Indian cuisine have such small portions :( Especially for the price. Honestly feels like one should get a lot because it's mostly time vs cost of ingredients that make up the value, but such is such and maybe I'm just way off base here. Regardless, either come not super hungry or order N+2 to make sure you have enough :)
google avatar

Jaime N.

Yelp
The garlic Naan was wow. Soft and fluffy with minced garlic. It's a very large piece that was the perfect amount for the take out order of butter chicken. The butter chicken's sauce had a perfect balance of creaminess. Not too creamy and just thick enough so you can use you Naan to scoop it. Absolutely satisfying dinner

Yelp
the best Indian food in the Bay Area! Every time we visit Oakland we stop by. I mean every time, which is 1-3 times a month. We love the customer service, the food is AMAZING & so authentic. Thank you Lei Lan & Lauren

Yelp
I am kinda picky with IndianTasty every time. Reliable delivery! I really taste the flavor.

Yelp
I've gotten both take out and come here in person and both were great experiences! Most recently coming here in person, we came on a Friday night and we were one of only a few people here. While that may be a bad sign, it wasn't! The server was super attentive and kind, and the food still tasted fresh! The server was also really helpful in figuring out how spicy to make the food given our preferences of a little spice but not too spicy (we landed on Mild +). We got the chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, palak paneer and chicken momos which were all delicious! The palak paneer and chicken tikka masala were both maybe a touch salty which was the only down side but when I had gotten them previously they were perfect, so they may have some issues with consistency. The flavor was still very good. We also always get an array of breads (naan and paratha) which are also delicious! One other thing that was a bit confusing was their "butter chicken" that I ordered from them for take out before, showed up as a chicken tikka masala, so I don't know if it's the same dish listed by two different names on the menu or if it was a mistake but just another thing to note. I'll definitely be getting food from here again in the future!

Maya Y.

Yelp
BEST IN THE BAY!!! You seriously can't go wrong eating here! Every dish i've tried has been absolutely delicious, no matter if it's order in or take out. The Palak Paneer is my favorite dish and it's the best in the bay for sure. I can't have it from anywhere else now! The people are also so sweet, always going the extra mile to make sure you have the best experience. I cannot express how absolutely insanely good this place is; the food, the service, the cute and friendly ambiance. highly recommend
google avatar

Cynthia G.

Yelp
Two words: coconut naan. I could eat it breakfast lunch or dinner--it goes great with everything. Also highly rec their lamb dishes as well as their samosas which I love to eat for breakfast. The portion size is huge and you will have leftovers, which is perfect because their food stays fresh. This is a place perfect for dates or family dinners, or even a solo bite. I absolutely adore the stained glass and cute decor and the service is never less than impeccable. This is my go to spot for curry and I will continue to recommend it to all.

L. W.

Yelp
The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and the ambiance was really lovely. They stayed open late for our party, and one of the original owners chatted with us and shared stories about the decor : the chandelier, the marble columns, and the hand painted decorations on the walls. Overall, this place is charming and lovely, and the food was great.

Patrick H.

Yelp
Absolutely great Indian food - Pumpkin Masala sweet and flavorful, you actually feel like they really care that you enjoy this restaurant. A fun bright space that is light and casual with outstanding service from the moment you walk in. Usually frequent spots around Lakeshore but the small detour to get to there is worth it!

Yelp
The restaurant is in a good location. The momos were very tasty. Serving sizes were moderate but I like that they come with rice. Rice should always be included so that's a bonus. Service was good. I was surprised they serve drinks. We ordered butter chicken, paneer tikka masala and coconut naan. Very was good.

Yelp
This restaurant is superb in its presentation. Customer service. The waiter and the waitresses are impeccable. The food is above board excellent to your liking and taste excellent atmosphere beautiful location. I recommend Annapurna restaurant Oakland. You will not regret it. Yelp
I came on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly pretty empty. I ordered the chicken tikka, an Indian beer, and garlic naan. The chicken was super moist, the tikka sauce was very flavorful, and the naan was to die for. Delicious meal and very fast service

Yelp
Covid-19 friendly!!! Great meal with a lot of relatively reasonable prices! The staff were super attentive and friendly!! We got water right away!! That's so appreciated!!! Small bar and good wine selection. They do have their own drink menu for those who like that type of experience! The food was awesome and heavenly!!! Gosh the naan was so soft and flavorful. The rice just falls apart! The interior has a laidback "Indian" look about it! Could be super classy if they wanted to spend a little time on the inside, but clean! Even the windows are clean' Don't recommend sitting by the door, as there is a lot of delivery drivers coming and going. If it's cold, you'll be cold & if it's hot you'll be hot. The restrooms are nice and gender friendly. Street parking.

Yelp
The Tandoori salmon was under done (both pieces). The butter chicken wasn't as flavorful as what I've had from other restaurants. The naan bread was burned in places and didn't taste great. Not sure if they had a bad night or what but don't think I'd return here given the prices. Very disappointed with everything I ordered considering high review scores.

Yelp
While on vacation, we decided to try this place because it wasn't too far of a walk from our hotel. We had never tried this type of cuisine before. When we came inside, the restaurant didn't look like anything special. The menu was self-explanatory. My son had shrimp tikka masala, my husband lamb tikka masala, and I had lamb vindaloo. We all chose mild spice level due to our unfamiliarity with the food. It turned out that was quite mild, and we could have chosen medium. We also ordered garlic naan and coconut naan. The food was incredibly delicious with large portions for a great price! We ate it all and it was spectacular. Our primary waitress was new and unfamiliar with the menu, but kind and attentive. The supervising waitress was engaging, personable, and entertaining. Our drinks were good and we've added a new type of cuisine to things we enjoy. Thanks for a great night! 5/5 for food! 5/5 value for cost! 4/5 for drinks! 3/5 for ambiance.

Yelp
Ambiance is elegant while maintaining that humble feeling of a good restaurant. I like old school places as opposed to trendiness when it comes to my Indian food. Annapurna has excellent food and it doesn't feel like a hole in the wall or a trendy hipster place. It's the perfect balance! We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
We enjoyed a decent meal, but certainly have had better. The goat curry was tasty but mostly bones, barely any meat. The lamb Vindaloo was lacking something in flavor and consistency, though decent portions. The mixed tandoor came with 2 small pieces of shrimp, a piece of lamb, and mostly chicken -- all of which were flavorful, but dry. The lamb momos were fine/typical, filled well (I liked the dipping sauce that came with it). The restaurant interior is kind of cool looking, with high ceilings, but they need background music or something to help the ambiance. Otherwise, all you hear is you and your neighboring tables chatting -- there can be quiet and awkward lulls. The service is good, however, we specifically let them know we can't have dairy, and then ordered chai (not realizing it has dairy in it already), and they didn't warn us. Our stomachs were hurting the rest of the night. I will also say I feel the chai essence itself could have been stronger. All in all, the place was just decent. While the service was friendly, we can certainly find tastier similar cuisine in and near Oakland.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time. I love momos, so anytime I see that on a menu, I have to try it. I ordered the mixed momo, samosas, and mixed tandoori. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the quality and quantity of food, given the price.

Yelp
There's a fair bit to cover here so let's get started. I decided well before we arrived I was going to order the Mixed Momo and Chili Paratha. First the drink. I can't, unfortunately, remember the full name of the drink. The first word starts with an 'M" followed by Bee Bite. It was intended to be spicy and included some jalapeños. It really wasn't all that spicy. In fact, it was just spicy enough and was refreshing and delicious! The Mixed Momos did not disappoint. The flavors were complex. I loved the chicken momos , perhaps because the flavor was more familiar. The lamb momos were outstanding. I had two. I read the veggie momos were the best. While the ingredients are unlike the chicken and lamb, the veggie wasn't my favorite. Still, they were all absolutely wonderful. It was a nice start to the meal. I ordered the Pumpkin Lamb and as planned, the Chili Paratha. The paratha arrived first. Just one bite and my mouth was on fire. Spicy, well... yes, but that's an understatement! I had to put eating my meal on hold while my mouth recuperated. Our server must have noticed. I like spicy, but this was too much. He explained they use serrano peppers, they always order the same thing, but the resulting heat will depend on which farm supplies the peppers. He mentioned sometimes the paratha is not hot, but truly spicy and I'm guessing quite flavorful. Here's where the five-star review comes in. He offered to make a replacement paratha for me. I opted for onion. The other choice was potato. The onion paratha was loaded with red onion and was delicious. While trying to cool my mouth, my friends suggested some rosemary naan with raita. It definitely helped and the bread was fantastic. So tender and flavorful. As an aside, as we were leaving the server said he hoped that my stomach would be okay - very kind indeed. The Pumpkin Lamb was flavorful and not spicy, though I ordered it medium. I think after the Chili Paratha, nothing in the world will ever taste spicy to me again! The pumpkin was tender as was the lamb. The big bowl of rice was just enough for the three of us. When all was said and done, I was quite full. Service was attentive. My water was regularly refilled and I drank a lot of it! They seemed to truly care that we had a good experience.

Yelp
Considering how many stars and reviews this place has, I was expecting this place to be packed when I went. However, maybe we got lucky but there were only 3 seated tables and a ton available for my party of 4. A few items we ordered: 1. Mango Lassi- refreshing and would definitely get again 2. Butter Chicken- my favorite dish. It also comes with basmati rice which is great. For $15.99 to come with rice, it is not overpriced because they fill the curry TO THE TIP of the container and give you an abundant if rice 3. Salmon Curry- good to try but would probably get something else next time. The curry flavor was a little too fishy and the salmon chunks had quite a few bones 4. Daal Tadka- pretty good too 5. Vegetable Samosas- Great crunch and filling! It's $5.99 for two pieces which I can't decide if it's good price or not given that I low key wish they were slightly bigger 6. Garlic Naan- SO FLUFFY. DELISH 7. Paneer Paratha- decent but def leaning in on naans moving forward I think the chicken curry selection was the best so will probably double down on it next time vs trying other kinds! Definitely coming back!!

Yelp
This place is a local gem in the heart of Oakland. They are always so friendly and attentive to their customers. They will adjust the level of spice for pretty much any dish to your preference. It is a great spot for business lunches if you're working in or near City Center. I've only had great experiences here. All the naan or parantha are fresh and delicious. My two favorite are onion and coconut naan. The samosas are amazing. I would give anything on their menu a try and I plan on coming back enough to do just that! So far I can tell you I loved the chicken tikka masala, the tandoori, and the vindaloo. Give them a try and you can thank me later!!

Yelp
Food was fresh and delicious. The staff is super nice! We had the appetizer combo- it was great. The chicken tikka was tender and scrumptious. The naan was definitely a highlight. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that the service was spotty. Go for the food and just know you need to be patient.

Yelp
The food here was very good. I especially like the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala. I chose medium spicy and it had the perfect amount of spiciness. I like how spacious it is inside and also the cultural decor is cute. The furniture looks out dated and dusty tho. The storage space up top should be cleared out. The service is quick and the staff seemed very friendly. There were times I felt like they were staring at me eat but I'm okay with that lol

Yelp
This is our favorite Nepalese-Indian restaurant in the area. The chicken makhani (butter chicken) is excellent. They have momo! Great paneer options. Very warm staff.
