Anna's House - Okemos

Awesome breakfast place with nice booths and lots of lighting and cute decor on the wall reminding one of the 40s. I had the Cooks Sandwhich and it was just the right size. For a side, I had some amazing sweet potato fries. My only dislike was how cold it was inside (though at time of writing this it was between fall and winter) and as part of a group they forgot some things but I was pleased with the service as they didnt make any excuses and were prompt in service. Will definitely be back again.

Going into the restaurant, I immediately loved the decor! It feels cozy, and the employees were wonderful. I went on a Sunday at 11, which is peak brunch time, and I was seated within 20 minutes! With a party of six! Incredible speed, and the food was great, too. I got a Belgian waffle, which kept it simple but it was perfect. My server, Jenna, was also absolutely wonderful. A sweet person who made me feel MORE than welcome!! :-)

We had great service and a delicious meal! They have a lot of gluten free options! Now, I am aware the kitchen is not fully gluten free and it's still a risk. I've gotten the gluten free pancakes before and been fine, this time I opted for a gluten free waffle with eggs and bacon. I'm not sure what did it but I think there was some cross contamination as I got sick. But, again, stated on their menu this is a risk for folks with severe allergies! My husband loved the corned beef hash.

Carrie was our server and was on top of it the whole time. My food was transcendent I think I reached nirvana. The vibe is always good here, and I always look forward to coming back and trying something new!

I came for my birthday brunch, food was good and are our waitress was great and friendly. The bathrooms were very cold but the rest of the place felt fine. The sad part is that I lost my brand new beanie hat here. 😞 I hope whoever took it really needed it…

This is my first review while waiting for breakfast to be made. Let me start by saying, the greeting was so warm and inviting. The restaurant smelled like grandmas kitchen before you even walked through the door. My fiance and I have tried to come before on our days off on the weekend and they have always been super busy and packed. Weekends understandably are busier. So this time we came on my day off during the week. The coffee is Amazing as is the fresh pressed orange juice. I can't wait to eat breakfast this morning. Our waitress Sonoma is very kind, attentive and helpful. I highly recommend coming during the week day if your busy on the weekends and don't have a lot of time to wait. Absolutely amazing breakfast spot! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. The coffee was great too — always a big plus for a breakfast place! Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or sitting down for a relaxed morning meal, this place delivers. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast experience.

The food is amazing per usual. Such a top tier brunch experience. Our server Bailey went above and beyond for us, such a kind human. I hope we get her back next time. I definitely recommend you check this place you and try the cinnamon roll!

Great service, delicious food. The kimchi egg rolls were too notch. Coffee could use some improvements but I'm there for the food.

This place was great! Was busy around 11 am on a Friday but only waited for 10 minutes, plenty of seating and a cute breakfast place. We started with the bacon and dipped in syrup was incredible. The waffle comes with the most amazing butter and is a must. The hash was good, but there were too many dried cherries for me personally anf the brussels sprouts were not fully cooked-would not get again. I also got the eggs easy and they were probably not safe to eat, you could still see the clear part. The server was Natalie and she was very nice!

Food quality is solid, if you get it. (Asked for Maple syrup for pancakes (neither served)): -$6 after asking if the undelivered food could be removed from the bill Sitting at the bar, service was surprisingly slow and reluctant. Didn't realize that sitting at the bar still needs a check-in with the hostess. Hostess appeared quickly to advise there wasn't a wait-list BUT this was the beginning of a OFF experience. Silverware needed to be asked for and had to wait a several minutes after food arrived. Even after requesting the silverware there was no urgency. Likely not going back.

We had to wait a little bit it was worth it. So many things I wanted to try and everything was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful and the decor was really cozy and cute.

I have been to Anna's house in GR and Kalamazoo. As it's a chain, I had no hesitations to go in Okemos. It was incredibly disappointing. The eggs Benedict was the worst I've ever had. This hollandaise sauce was awful. My latte was steamed milk with no espresso. The cinnamon roll was like a dinner roll with cinnamon and frosting. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Very poor experience.

We had a great experience. We had breakfast 2 days in a row on a visit to MSU. Plenty of GF options, great service and the staff were so nice. The decor was bright and fun.

Breakfast here was awesome! i shared the cinnamon roll and billion dollar bacon with a friend then had the french toast (which was to die for). It wasn't too long of a wait for a saturday morning and the service was great. The restaurant was clean and adorably decorated

Joined the waitlist and was told it would be about 30 minutes. 2 hours later we finally sit down and the food takes another 45 minutes to come out. Beyond starving and disappointed.

We had breakfast at Anna's 2 days while visiting Lansing. Amazing omelets and the coffee is to die for.

Anna's House is a spacious and welcoming diner-type breakfast spot. We came here for weekday brunch and enjoyed ourselves. While the service and space was enjoyable, the food could be better. We ordered one of the scramble hashes and it lacked in flavor. I would come back to try something else on the menu just because I love a weekday brunch!

Way overpriced and not worth the money or time to spend on. Food has no flavour nor taste

Not only do you get scammed for your money but the portion sizes are an insult. I have been to this location for in dining and have not had a bad experience, but today for carry out was the complete opposite. I ordered a menu item which I had last time I dined in and the portion sizes were completely different not only did they forget the avocado on top, but I paid extra for a extra egg and the portion size was extremely underwhelming. The description reads " LAYERS OF BAKED CORN TORTILLAS, MONTEREY JACK CHEESE, & RED ENCHILADA SAUCE. FINISHED WITH CREMA, HOUSE-MADE POBLANO HOLLANDAISE, COTIJA CHEESE, TWO EGGS, AVOCADO, & CILANTRO." But my to go order was not only in accurate but poorly packaged as well. I ordered a extra egg & they forgot the avocado. The issues with this location are 1. Extreme price gouging. Plan on spending A minimum of $25 plus for a kids meal portion entree. 2. Accuracy of items on the menu are incorrect upon Delivery.

Party of 2, We checked in online at 10:20, Finally food at 12:10, not sure it's worth the two hours. Food is alright, staff is pleasant but be prepared for a very very long wait and "ok" food.

Everything about Anna's House is amazing! I've tried so many different food and drink options and everything is great!

Good food and service just plan ahead because it can be busy, an fills up quickly on most weekends and holidays.

Was in town visiting family and took a red eye so we're hungry and looked for a place to grub. I had never been here before so the photos and higher rating jumped out at me. Got to restaurant and it's really cute inside! Decorated like 1950's. It was 8:30am and we were seated immediately though it did look pretty full inside. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The menu is quite big and lots of options for vegetarians, vegans and the healthier side of breakfast (yay)! My hub and I ended up sharing a meal because we heard from family the portions were big and they were. Both things we ordered were quite big and tasty. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again on another trip.

We got a generous amount of delicious food for the money. Our daughter was pleased to find a lot of healthy food to choose from since she has so many allergies.

Revisited late March. I'm still not a fan of their check-in system, but our food was amazing! I lived the classic American diner feel as well as the continental taste! Highly recommend their waffles

The food is great as is the service and ambiance. HOWEVER, if you join the waitlist on Yelp! you MUST still check-in when you arrive. If you do not check-in in person, you will NEVER get a table! This should be made clear on the Yelp! page.

Anna's House in Okemos, MI is a family favorite. It's a place I enjoy alone, with friends, family and especially my grandchildren. I love the latte's, traditionalist breakfast, vegan options to name a few. There's a few servers that have been here during periods of time I've visited and it's remarkable to greet them as if we 'know' one another. 10/10!

This place never disappoints. The service is quick, the selection is good, and the atmosphere is great. I'm disappointed that the "join wait list" through Yelp is no longer available, but we go early enough that we don't have to worry about that.

Stopped by during a trip for my friends wedding and it was great! I had a vegan dish with a latte and both were delicious but they have other non vegan options too. It was a busy spot but thankfully the restaurant allows you to join the waitlist in advance. Everyone was friendly and food came out fast! I highly recommend you stopping by if you're in the area

The food is good, but it isn't worth the wait. The estimate of when your table will be ready is still a joke. Sadly, you'll feel rushed once seated like we did. There are lots of breakfast options around all with excellent food and less difficulty being seated. I'd pick one of those and pass up the "experience" of Anna's House.

Went for breakfast on 4/13. Used "join waitlist" feature prior to arriving and it showed 13 - 28 minute wait. Wait ended up being over an hour. Meanwhile, people are walking in without having joined waitlist yet got seated sooner. I asked how does that happen? Girl at host stand said "yeah, the waitlist really isn't accurate and walk-ins don't show on there." What??? Shouldnt thr walk-ins just be added to wait list/queue? Guess not. The girl at host stand seem overwhelmed but also didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I get it, not a fun job but no sense of urgency while also having to answer phone, cleaning tables, etc. The past times I have been here it looks like they have nobody to specifically bus tables. Aside from that, line out the door and two separate tables that could seat 4 people only had one person seated at each of them meanwhile there were 5-6 open seats at the counter. I have been to plenty of places that say "sorry, these tables are for parties of two or more. I think most would understand that. While food and portion size is good, you really need to get waitlist system worked out, it is horrible!

The wait list is set up horribly. My family and I used the waitlist online and were told we would be sat by 10:50. It has now been over an hour and we are still waiting to be sat. This is an absolute nightmare have now been on the wait list for over 3 hours.

The waitlist is done horribly. We joined online and didn't know that once we got here we had to check in to get put onto another waiting list. They either need to have all online check in or all in person. We waited over 2 and a half hours to realize this.....

Such an adorable and bright space! Highly recommend getting "in line" online to avoid lengthy wait times but they seem to turn over tables pretty quickly. We opted for this place due to their reputation of having gluten free options. We were not disappointed as the GF offerings were extensive! I selected the GF pancake combo (not pictured as I inhaled the food prior to remembering) and the pancakes were huge, fluffy yet dense, with the perfect crispy edges! The combo came with two eggs and two meats, then we added a side of American fries to split. The American fries could have used a bit more seasoning so I added hot sauce and they were fine. Will definitely be back to try more of their gf breakfast menu and am looking forward to it!

This place has gone down hill. We just waited an hour for a couple of salads, kids pancakes and a burger. Our waitress did nothing wrong but clearly management has changed and not for the better. Portion sizes have reduced significantly. We spent $80 and my whole family left still hungry.

Do not use the Yelp waitlist! We checked in at 9 a.m. and went into restaurant at 10:30 to verify we were still 3rd in line. The greeter informed us that we were supposed to check in person, not Yelp. She then proceeded to tell us it would be another half hour. It's 11 a. m. now and we're still waiting. Anna, I recommend you stop using a waitlist. We decided to eat at home and are leaving!!!

For once, we didn't have to wait for a table. It was a little after 9 AM on a Saturday so I was surprised. This place is normally packed anytime I come here and it did fill up pretty much soon after we get seated. The food was delicious. I had the cook's breakfast sandwich And it was stuffed with avocado. My daughter had the chicken and waffles and she said they were great. She's tried these at several different places around town so I respect her opinion. It was a busy diner atmosphere but the weight staff was friendly and seemed efficient. Our waitress was excellent.

Anna's House has a unique menu and a great atmosphere! Well worth the wait, join the waitlist ahead of time.

My breakfast sandwich had avocado on it that was way past its prime, as it had more black on it than green. They gave a whopping $2 off a $14 meal. In addition there was lipstick on my coffee mug.

At least not in regard to using the Wait List - I know other places that use it consider the wait list even as people walk in. According to the list I have was second in line though when I checked in I was told "20 minutes" and when I mentioned the wait list position, I was told the wait list does not take in consideration the people who walk in. Other places, second in line means second in line!

The food was great, lots of good options. The staff work really hard. CAUTION Don't use the Yelp Wait List function because you are not really on the wait list until you check in at the desk. I waited for 1/2 hour like the Yelp app told me to and then later found out that I was not put on the waitlist until I checked in. I noticed several other patrons had the same frustrating experience. If you don't check in you will never get seated

The monkey bread was fantastic! Although I got the big breakfast with scrambled eggs and French toast and only got French toast, then had to remind them that I ordered breakfast just for it to not be scrambled eggs and not even have hash browns or my toast

First time here at the Okemos location and the food was phenomenal. I gravitate towards restaurants that have more unusual items on the menu and not just standard fare and Anna's House fit the bill. We had the breakfast lasagna and corned beef hash eggs Benedict. Both were stellar!

Do not use yelp to make a reservation. You must physically go to the restaurant and check in or they will move you to the bottom of the list when you get to the restaurant 10 minutes prior to your estimated seating time. The food is awesome. But this experience really soured me.

We put our name in. They didn't give us a time which should have been a red flag. Before arriving we tried to put our name in the online waitlist. It was closed which made us think there wasn't much of a wait. We asked if they could put 2 tables together. They stated that they reserve the big booths in the back for large parties. However when looking at the big booths there was a couple in one and 4 people in another. We had been waiting 45 minutes when another 6 top who came in after us and asked to be sat at a smaller booth with a chair at the end. They were sat. My husband asked why they were sat before us and they apologized and said you will be next. We decided to leave. Very disappointed

Service was great.Food good. Atmosphere friendly...Parking= horrendous. Prices= high.

We stopped in based on positive Yelp reviews. Friendly staff and our waitress did an excellent job. Food was good, however we were disappointed as the omelette was served with only toast. For the price, we expected at least larger portions. Hash browns, grits, or other potatoes are usually offered at most restaurants we have eaten at.

We visit my sister every year and always go here for breakfast! Best breakfast around town. The service is great!

Worst service ever!! Waitress was useless placed order and after 45 minutes still didn't have our food paid for my coffe which was just a regular coffee $ 3.71 ridiculously priced which took her another 8 minutes to accomplish the transaction. Then gave us 2 free cinnamon roll coupons like I will ever go back after that to use. Such an awful experience

Great food, lots of ways to customize menu items and prompt service make this place a gem. Prices are high, however, and it often has a long wait on weekends.
