First of all I love a restaurant that has a ‘seasonal’ menu. It means the menu changes and you can go back over and over and they’d be new surprises and classics that don’t change. Okay let’s dive in… the best gimlet I’ve ever head!!! Made everyone try it and they loved and ordered it. Yesss the grinch drink. Now, I love oysters & these were good and meaty! Excuse me but I don’t remember the name of the cured beef, served carpaccio style with sweet radish for garnish, that was soo well balanced and delicious. There was the gravlax, I’ll try any gravlax on any menu especially here. Then I told everyone the scallops are melt on your mouth good but they came out differently presented, was worried but they were once again a home run. The potatoes served with the scallops were crisp this time compared to almost same texture as scallops last time & I just love the dehydrated beets for garnish. Food is about flavours, textures & the chef gets it!!! The fried mushrooms were a great accompaniment for the oysters- think fries sub. The best veal served always with a silky purée(carrot/parsnip this time around). It was excellent but could never be like the first time I had it tho. The beef was perfectly cooked. Everything was delicious and amazing. I was a lil disappointed with the dessert, first time having their donuts with apple sauce, could have honestly skipped that. The Paris Brest was good but I preferred the vanilla version( I was blown away last time) and it felt smaller. The beauty of an evolving menu… you win some & you lose some. All in all, great experience, great food, great ambiance… oooh forgot to mention, they have a live DJ!
