"This pair – she is from Ile de Ré, he hails from Bristol – met in a restaurant in Amsterdam and went on to open this modern bistro in La Rochelle. The space comprises pale wood tables and furniture, a glassed-in kitchen at the back, a zellige-tiled wall and a small terrace overlooking a pedestrian street. They propose French cuisine that is packed with freshness and flavour! The chef shows he has technique and talent, eg with his wild sea bass, white wine sauce, cockles, broccoli purée and lightly grilled green cabbage. As for dessert, Audrey delights diners with her "gâteau au chocolat d'Annette" (her grandmother's recipe), served with chestnut cream ice cream – potent and delicious." - Michelin Inspector

A Friday evening dinner for myself and my fiancee... At first when you see the cosy environment with maybe just 20 or so covers you may wonder if you have made the right choice... but don't worry - you have!! The service was friendly and efficient... The food... was in a way disarming... the presentation was relatively simple... but that meant that the flavours were even more unexpected and surprising... all dishes were delicious and the flavours stayed with us for a long time afterwards... recommended!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Restaurant Annette last night. Small menu which is always a good sign. Each of our Main Choices - Steak / Sole Meunier / Vegetarian Flatbread (& vegetables) and a lovely sauce were well received. A really welcoming hostess, friendly ambiance & reasonable prices….well are in France by the sea after all. Only comment from me would be maybe the Fush Soup which was beautifully presented could have had a little more fish. Thanks Again folks for a lovely evening.

We were blown away by this recently opened restaurant. We ordered three different starters and main courses and every dish was superb. The menu is so well constructed and everything from the ambience to the cocktails hits the spot. The service, too, was impeccable. We’ll be back for the July menu soon.

Absolutely delicious food. Good wine list. Perfect sized portions too. So glad I reserved as it was busy and I saw a number of walk ins turned away. We were not rushed at all. Also nice to see that the restaurant serves until later in the evening which some in LR don't.

Perfect set lunch. Beautiful terrace spot in pretty La Rochelle street. The staff are very kind too. Don’t skip dessert - they are both delicious!

Doesn't look much from the outside, and then you get in and have one of the best food experiences in La Rochelle. The porchetta is one of the best I've ever had, and the fusion with UK cousine is just magistrally executed. Highly recommended.
