I decided to visit this restaurant due to a Instagram post that was a very convincing so I ordered barbecue chicken mac and cheese collard greens and Black Eyed Peas. They were quite busy Sunday afternoon so I understand why they took a little while than usual maybe? I ordered takeout so as I was waiting the waitress she gave me a free side of fried okra and banana pudding, which was really nice of her. I do recommend the mac and cheese and collard greens. Unfortunately my barbecue chicken was undercooked and my banana pudding was okay it was more pudding than banana and cookie but still delicious. Overall decent experience, worth a dine in next time..

I visited Annie’s Soul Delicious last night and had such a great first experience! We were seated right away, and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The owner personally greeted us and even checked on us during our meal — she’s very hands-on and clearly passionate about her restaurant. Multiple staff members stopped by as well to make sure everything was going smoothly, and the bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. Now for the food — I ordered the 8-piece wings (half Classic, half Hennessy) and loved that you get three sides, which makes it plenty of food for the price. The wings had great flavor and came out piping hot since everything is cooked fresh to order. My only small note is to ask for your wings “fried hard/well” if you prefer a crispier texture like I do. That’s the only reason I’m knocking off a star because I didn’t get to fully enjoy them due to the texture. The couple wings I did get to eat were packed with flavor, and I’ll definitely be ordering them again — just fried hard next time! The sides were incredible — the yams, mac and cheese, and collard greens were all packed with flavor and tasted homemade. We went around 5:30 p.m., and while it was busy, there were still seats available. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I’ll definitely be back again and again. Wishing them much continued success — they truly deserve it!

We absolutely loved our experience at Annie’s. We was visiting all the way from London, and wanted to try soul food for the first time. We was told we’d wait an hour but ended up being half that, and it was so worth the wait. We loved most of the dishes and we tried almost everything. We were suprised how much we enjoyed it all, we understand the hype now. Our waitress was also amazing, I’m not sure what her name was but she was half Arabic. Genuine and kind and made our experience 5/5. Would recommend to everyone 💕💕

First time visiting the area and HAD to stop at one of the premier soul food restaurants in Los Angeles. The oxtail, Hennessy wings and lemonade concoctions were standouts! Our server was especially welcoming and even sung us a little song before bidding us a farewell. Special shout out to Eddie as he was always on point.

Ordered the Smothered Chicken with Mac & Cheese, Yams and Collard Greens. Chicken was dry and the greens had a funny taste. The yams were good and I appreciated them for sealing the bag safety!

Smh. I hate when people become complacent. The staff here is horrible. The food, I’ve ordered several times, this time it took almost 2 hours to get to me (and I live a mile away) AND THE CHICKEN WAS UNDERCOOKED. IF SOMETHING IS OUT OF STOCK SAY THAT INSTEAD OF RUSHING TO COOK THINGS OR BEING LAZY WHILE COOKING IT. BITING INTO BLOODY CHICKEN IS DISGUSTING. YOUR WORKERS HAVE HORRIBLE ATTITUDES. The sides however were great, just make sure you take some blood pressure medication after. Salt is not the only seasoning. Pictures may not be able to capture properly, but the chicken is bloody and pink. Had to self induce after eating. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

The food was served tasty and hot and the customer service was amazing. The kool aid was refreshing and delicious! The short ribs were tender and juicy, the macaroni and cheese was creamy, the greens we're succulent and the brussels sprouts were crispy and sweet. For dessert the peach cobbler egg rolls were flavorful and the crust was flaky and sweet!

Be prepared for a longer wait time! But if you have some time to spare, the atmosphere is great and the food is BOMB!!! The lemon pepper is a must!! I got the fried catfish and it was fried to perfection. The sides are all great too, so flavorful. The cornbread is also so good, especially the butter. Overall 10/10, can’t wait come back.

I would definitely eat here again. I ordered through Uber eats and I had a question so I called and the man who answered was polite and helpful. I got the food, pork chops with potato salad cabbage and yams. And oxtails with red beans and rice greens and yams. I didn't taste the pork chop plate but the oxtails were delicious and meaty, and gravy was delicious, the red beans rice were good but they could've used more juice- but I used some oxtail gravy and hot sauce and it was all good. The yams were yummy lots of vanilla which I like, I love greens but I thought this was the weakest side for me- there was a huge piece of fat in there which was unappetizing and they weren't as tender as I like but they had good flavor- some people may enjoy that texture. The mini corn muffins were cute and tasty. Highly recommend!

45 dollar inedible delivery. It was cold when it got here but the delivery only took 30 minutes sooo... The black-eyed peas were water with some black-eyed peas. The greens were watery and greasy. The Mac and cheese was literally one coagulated greasy blob. The fried chicken was mushy and flavorless. Was hoping at least the Oreo cake would give something, it didn't. It was unbearably sweet and felt like it was pulled out of a grocery store frozen aisle. After 45 dollars went out the window, I wound up making something else myself which is exactly what I didn't want to do on Friday. Update a half hour later: I feel queasy.

First time trying them 6/15/2024. Spent $101 for oxtail combo+seafood combo with greens, MC, yams, redbeans, rice n gravy+red drink+grape drink+strawberry cake+peachcobbler+bbq beef link I'm a soul-food nut, just got back from Atlanta a few weeks ago on a food tour also. I must say, Annie's was pretty darn good. A+. The price was decent for the amount of food i got, too. Oxtails werent too greasy and gravy was not bland. No extra salt needed. Good size portions of everything. The red beans with meat were my favorite. Shrimp was big and juicy and the catfish was good. I wish the beef link was grilled a lil more but that's just me. I'll be a return customer.

4.5 Stars UPDATE: After my last review, the owner reached out and made it right. I came and ordered the same things I did before to give it a fair chance. I appreciated the time Annalisa took to check in and make sure the food was made right. It made all the difference. The chicken and catfish were fried fresh. As soon as I took that first bite of the catfish, I said, "There it is, that's how it should have been." The catfish pieces were far better/bigger, worth the price. I feel like 1 piece was the size of the two pieces I got last time. The yams were perfect, not too sweet or overbearing seasoning. The greens were delicious as well. I also got mac and cheese. It was not my favorite (I like more of a custard type), but the flavor was good. If you like more creamy mac, it would be perfect. Also the kool-aid drink! Yummy! I also tried the peach cobbler. Same as the yams, good flavor. I wish I had more crust in my portion, but that is more of a preference that the restaurant would you know. When I am craving cobbler, this place is a good go-to. I want to say this restaurant is consistent each and every time I ordered good food and service. They continue to display a customer first attitude which I appreciate! Thank You for your hard work! Continue to prosper!

Me and my boyfriend ordered take out and WOW! So damn good. We ordered the Nashville honey hot I believe and Hennessey chicken.. SO GOOD. It was the corn bread that seal the deal for me.. i'm a macaroni and cheese girl. I was a little disappointed in the macaroni and cheese. Overall good 8/10

PSA - this place is only for to-go/pick up - there's no dine in. I didn't check the reviews my son just found this on yelp and I promised him we will eat wherever he chooses. It's off Western and Melrose and that's a hard place to find parking so we managed and made our way inside only to find that you need to order from a kiosk. We ordered the oxtail combo and the wing and catfish combo that comes with 3 sides I think this is best value instead of ordering ala carte. In the end we tried 6 different sides because we picked different ones so we can try more. My son had Mac n cheese, fries and candied yams. I had the greens, red beans and rice with gravy. The oxtail was sooooo tender and flavorful. The catfish and chicken with habanero honey was crunchy and juicy. Our order also came with warm cornbread with the dipping sauce - I almost didn't notice it and munched on it as we drive back to the valley. I'm no expert in soul food but I know good food. This one hits the spot. Yams were just the right sweetness and collared greens were cooked well. I also loved the beans with sausage - got one with rice as well. Downside -- wait time and you'll have to eat your food in your car (unless you live close by). I'm familiar with the area so I know where we can park to enjoy the hot food. Just to give you an idea of the wait time - placed mine at 3:18pm and the text said estimated pick up time 3:49 to 3:59. Our order was ready at 4:03. So there's a lot of waiting time and this is for a Sunday afternoon. If you're hAngry I don't suggest you come here. If you live close by or will be in the area go ahead and place your order and come back - you'll need a designated driver though. Or do what others do - park in the middle lane. Worth the try but for the crispy catfish and chicken - please eat it right away! Not sure if having it delivered is good because I think you might miss some things. Thankfully we only miss the straw for our drink. I picked up and checked everything before driving off and didn't realize we weren't given a straw. No biggie in the end we were happy with our food -- so full.

The food here is just so good and most importantly, consistently great! Whoever is related to the chef and/or owner needs to sit them down, document, archive and preserve those recipes. This time I ordered two of the same plate and got pics. Only downside this visit, I got no cornbread. I thought it automatically came served with the catfish plate but there was none to be found in my bag.

Very good soul food!!!!! Everything was on point!! Had the oxtails, fried Chix and the sides were the bomb!!!! Can't wait until they re-open the restaurant

So sad to write this review. I was really looking forward to this meal. SO greasy and inedible. I had to throw it out. We made a big order for the office and everyone's food was inedible and most of us got sick. I remember this spot being good but like so many restaurant these days, you just can't trust that it is always going to be good and consistent. Needless to say, our boss will not be ordering from here for us again.

Annie's Soul Delicious is definitely a really good place to order from. The mom and daughter duo was great and their energy was welcoming. I ordered a special called Munchie's Special which consists of shrimp, catfish and chicken wings under a bed of fries. I ordered the chicken wings with Hot Honey BBQ sauce. THAT WAS AMAZINGGGGG!! The chicken wings are really good and I wish I had more. The sauce was very tasty. HOWEVER, I wasn't a fan of the shrimp and catfish. It was VERY salty and that was super unfortunate. But the chicken was good. The fries were perfect. No real ambiance. Keep in mind, it is a takeout location because it is in a ghost kitchen. Parking during the day was easy but there are a lot of drivers waiting which takes up the spots.

Annie's Soul Delicious in Los Angeles is a gem that left me utterly impressed. My husband I I ordered from them to eat before our visit to a nearby museum. The food surpassed all expectations, with each dish bursting with soulful flavors that speak to the heart. The service was ok as you had to wait in this locker pick up type building as they prepared your food. Not sure how many orders were ahead of us, but because the wait was longer than usual, they gave us 2 drinks on the house. We ordered just about everything: Fried Catfish, 8 Piece Fried Shrimp, Mac and Cheese, Greens w/ Smoked Turkey, Red Beans w/ Smoked Meat, and Black Eyed Peas.

This spot is one of my favorites in LA!!! I need to make a trip asap. From the oxtails to short ribs to ALL THE SIDES, this spot got it going on. I've been ordering their yams and Mac and cheese as trays for Friendsgiving and they never disappoint. The portions are amazing and I've always had a great experience when they used to be on Fairfax and to their new location on Western. Highly recommend!!!!

Oaktail soul roll was lacking flavor even just simple salt. Anything fried needs salt right after the fryer. The jamaican jerk one was more flavorful than the oxtail, but still not impressed. Feel like these need to be served with gravy to help them out.

I ordered this for delivery after hearing so many great things about Annie's. Mostly, it didn't disappoint Food arrived hot, and I think that the portions are well worth the price point. The packaging is solid and I appreciated the care that my delivery person took to make sure nothing spilled. Seasoning is ON POINT across all dishes that I had, with the fried okra being my favorite. I will note that though I ordered collard greens with smoked turkey, there was NO TURKEY in the container. One of the other reviews also mentioned this and while it tasted good without, they should update the description. The peach cobbler was good, but I would have liked more crust. Overall, this was a good experience and I would order again.

We were craving some soul food and decided to try a new spot from our usual. We came up on Annie's on Ubereats and decided to try different items. I ordered the fried shrimp basket with broiled cabbage, Mac n cheese and black eyed peas w/ rice as my sides. Everything was 10/10, from the flavors to the portions! You are really getting your bang for your buck! We also ordered the OMG banana pudding! DAM!! That has to be one of my favorite banana puddings I've tried. We'll definitely order from here again and look forward to going on person so we can dine in. Also, the mini cornbreads were super good with the butter mixed with honey! Omg that was a desert within itself

Lucky me .. My Nephew treated me to a soul food dinner for my birthday .. It was delicious.. I requested: Ox-Tails .. Collard-Greens .. Sweet-Potato-Yams .. Cornbread .. Guess they were out of Mac & Cheese .. But they substituted an extra serving of Yams...Which was okay... Food was delicious... Only one thing .. Easier on the Salt... Thank-You Patrick...

Delicious food every time I ordered. Fried chicken is good, red beans and rice are great. Peach cobbler tastes like my mom made it. The banana pudding is heavenly. I would encourage anyone in the area to try them out. You will not be disappointed. Trust me.

Annie's Soul Delicious is truly delicious! No lies told in the name! They get the award for the best soul food in Cali!!! I got four dinners today and everyone agrees the food is FIRE, I came all the way from LB and I wasn't disappointed, 11/10!!! I met the cook and she was so nice and warm! I can't wait to go back! They really get it when it comes to great flavor, those short ribs are super tender and flavorful. Mac, yams and dressing were all on point! I have nothing bad to say. I can't believe I finally found a soul food place that I love in Cali

If I could give this place 0 zero stars I would. We took a trip up plus minute Uber for a restaurant listed in Yelp that said it was open on a Wednesday at 6pm and low and behold it was closed and boarded up. Do better! It is unacceptable to not keep your business hours up to date!

Absolutely delicious. Flawless execution. Solid portions, leftovers guaranteed. Wings. Shrimp. Mac and cheese. Greens. Rice and gravy. Cornbread. 10 out of 10.

My husband and I were really excited to try this place. We ordered a LOT of food:. entrees, sides and dessert. I ordered the veggie combo plate because I don't eat meat, he ordered the smothered pork chop plate. We waited TWO HOURS for our food to be delivered. By then, I was starving as I hadn't eaten anything all day. When the food finally arrived, my combo plate was not included in the order. Apparently, they were "out of dressing and mashed potatoes." Huh? How do you run out of basic sides? We placed our order at 4.40p in the afternoon, not at closing time. Instead of getting my combo plate, I got a 1/4 deli cup of cold, so-so cheese grits. My mama makes better cheese grits than what I was given. The peach cobbler tasted really gross. Gummy and overloaded with what I can only guess was either cheap vanilla or maple. In short, we won't be ordering from here again. Super disappointing.

I was very disappointed in my meals. The oxtails and the short ribs were extremely salty and over cooked. The sides, Mac n cheese, greens and rice and gravy were terrible, and the peach cobbler was awful! The only thing that was decent was the mini corn muffins!

I hate to give ASD three stars, but it just didn't do it for me. I ordered oxtails over rice. Why the oxtails have to be "over" rice and not on the side is beyond me. I also ordered greens, mac and cheese, cornbread dressing , and the purple rain punch. Before placing my order through DoorDash I called to ask for extra gravy. The young lady who answered the phone was very nice and accommodated my request. Unfortunately, the extra gravy did not help. The oxtails, rice and cornbread dressing were still dry. Don't get me wrong, the flavor wasn't bad, I just needed more gravy, or something. Maybe this didn't do it for me because I always cook my oxtails for a long time in the gravy, which makes them really moist and tender. The mac and cheese was okay. The greens were a joke, I had more turkey meat and maybe a tablespoon of greens. The purple rain punch was sweet with a lot of ice. I took the ice out because I was not ready to drink it and didn't want it to get watered down. The best thing I received was the little corn muffins and butter, I didn't know they came with the order. When all is said and done, I don't know if I would order from ASD again. Since I know how to cook I can be a little cynical when ordering soul food, but I'm always hopeful. I am glad I tried ASD, now I can remove them from my list and remove the bookmark.

2.5 hours for an UberEATS delivery on a Wednesday....ran out of the items my GF ordered.... terrible communication and had the nerve to have an attitude when we called for the driver because no one at the location would tell him anything. Not sure why they moved locations or why they seem so inept now but we will stick with Delicious at the Dunbar....this is gentrified soul food anyway. Update my review with a pic of this mess...on top of the fact that they called to confirm a side dish that they were out of then didn't even add the replacement side dish...what a joke.

I got my lunch from the place through work, so maybe the experience may have been different if I went to the restaurant, I don't know. Their blackened salmon was one of the worst salmons I've had. It was so salty that my tongue was numb for some time after eating it. I actually couldn't even finish my food. I would assume it was not just by accident as my coworker was complaining that her lunch was too salty as well and she gave up eating hers.

Me and my family went to Annie's after we went to GRADUATION I HAD the ribs very delicious and the cost was great. Will be going back Soon

Beware that this is a Ghost kitchen and food was abysmal. So much excessive grease that it seeped through the container and the bag. They served potato salad and mac and cheese from those industrial tubs like somehow people wouldn't notice. For all of those people saying the food was phenomenal - shame on you. Maybe they were good once,before they moved into a ghost kitchen but that's not them anymore. Don't fall for the yelp trap of high reviews because this place ain't it.

This place was a pleasant surprise on Uber Eats . We ordered the Hennessy wings , the short rib, greens and Mac n cheese soul roll, mac n cheese , cornbread dressing and banana pudding . The wings are a 10 for flavor , crunch and texture . The Mac n cheese was cheesy and not stiff which I loved . The corn bread dressing was okay . It was kind of too thick for me . The soul roll could use a sauce with it, it lacked the flavor I was hoping for . And the banana pudding was amazing . I want to go in person next time .

Yesterday, we celebrated a Juneteenth event for my company and had Annie's Soul Delicious cater for us. The event was huge, we served about 500-700 people from 11am until 5pm. Annie's made 3 separate deliveries (which was apart of the deal) to keep the food stocked and fresh. The delivery employee went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Offering to run to the store to grab items we forgot for the event, grabbing empty trays of food because it was moving so fast, and throwing them away for us. All while setting up and organizing the 10-20 huge trays of food during each delivery in giant hot boxes which kept all the food hot and fresh. We would pull a tray of Cajun chicken out of the hot boxes, pull the cover off, and the steam and smell of the food was like it was just taken out of the oven. The overall feedback from our guests we were serving said this was the best soul food they ever had. I heard comments like "This Mac and cheese is just like my grandmas" and "I don't eat other people's soul food, but I needed a second plate". I would highly recommend Annie's to anyone, and will do so! Thank you Annie's for making our Juneteenth celebration special and delicious!

I don't know if it's allowed to review a place twice, but I have to. Because I have fallen in love with this place. I mean this being the seconds time there, the food, again, was on point. I swear the chef must be related to me somehow, because that dressing tastes just like it came from my mother's kitchen. Everything in that collage photo was jamming! But let me tell you, the best part, beyond the food, is how each time I walk in that restaurant, I have the most pleasant exchanges with the owner and staff. I often take my food to go (because I'm working), but before even eating the meal, I leave the place with a smile on my face. Just a lovely feeling in my stomach and my soul. You better check them out in their new location when they're settled in.

Office depo Culver City staff are amazing. They are so helpful. You would think they were doing the project for themselves. All of the staff. There are professional and the customer service is 110. I'll give two thumbs up. Thanks. You guys are my favorite printing shop.

Wow this is freaking amazing! I was quite confused not knowing how this whole place works - ring the bell to order or the machine. The fried chicken was so GOOD! I really enjoyed the fried catfish appetizer! Highly recommended! I also loved their variety of lemonade drinks!

Every time I've ordered from them my food was bomb. Never ate inside though, when they did have a dine in space. The service was always friendly. I'd recommend.

Service was absolutely great, appreciate the owner for remembering names, which you can tell drives repeat customers. Fish was superb, chicken a little TOO breaded but overall good seasoning. Black eyed peas top notch for menu option. Just wish I took a picture of my plate but I literally ate the food in the car, no way I was waiting 20 mins worth a drive to enjoy this plate.

We chose ANNIES for our MOTHERS DAY dinner and we definitely enjoyed everything that we ordered. This Southern Food is delicious and we followed this restaurant from the original Fairfax location. Thank you for your yummy eats

Well I hit the mother-load. Such a fantastic SOUL FOOD and charmingly classy restaurant. A coworker told me about this knowing that I enjoy good soul food and thus has been the go to ever since. So much to offer and it's hard to omit any so I will say that this is a must try ( one nite though. They will be moving from their current location to a different locate on Melrose and Western Ave on 12/1) Your classics are here, smooth eyed chicken, oxtails, fried catfish and sides galore!! All are well seasoned and of course well cooked. I generally am not a candied yams lover, but I will say that there's is extremely good. Their smothered turkey wings fall off the bone. And here's a tip first time customers get a free drink (next time I'm wearing a disguise )

Everything on this menu is delicious! I accidentally ordered the wrong thing today and was glad I did as it turned out to be amazing. Can't go wrong here. Highly recommend.

I ordered the Short Rib Dinner, and the Taste Is Out Of Sight!!! So Delicious. The only thing I have to say is I was disappointed with The Short Ribs. They were not Short Ribs but more like Roast Beef pieces, the meat was very tender though.

Listen, I'm not gone hold you. Annie is back there doing her thang! And her food is definitely SOUL DELICIOUS! That's it! That's the review! Lol! First off, getting greeted the way we did was so nice! I am horrible with names, but the girl at the counter was so nice! So beautiful, and so inviting! She gave my friend and I the run down of the menu and helped us choose our entrees. Shoutout to her because I am indecisive when everything sounds so good! The Turkey wings? BOMB.COM so tender! And you know when you can taste all the layers of flavors so you know the food was cooked the right way? That was this! I could taste that they were seasoned well, then fried, then smothered and baked in gravy. LAYERS!!! Perfect layers!! The Beef Ribs? Chefs kiss! So flavorful and falling off the bone, I've never had a tender beef rib like that in my 31 years. And that bbq sauce is so good. Get extra! The mac and cheese was yummy and creamy. Noodles cooked perfectly. The cabbage and greens were braised just right. So much flavor without being salty which is fantastic for me! The cabbage had a nice little spice and I loved that. The cornbread dressing was really good and flavorful as well. The gravy that they put on it belongs in a pool so I can swim in it! The yams were cool, I don't think you can ever go wrong with candied yams. The mini cornbread muffins? With the honey butter? SHEEESH!! 4 come in an order, next time I'm asking for 8 lol! And It didn't taste like boxed cornbread either. I didn't take a picture of my peach cobbler, but the flavor was real. Like I said LAYERS! Everything was nice and caramelized and married together. Tasted like something my auntie made, and we ALWAYS have her make the peach cobbler for the holidays. Also, I love how they package everything. You can still eat your food inside, but I didn't feel forced to finish it. They took the guest work out of packing up the leftovers and I really appreciate that. All in all, I'm coming back. Even though I'm in OC, Annie's is definitely worth the drive.

I ordered from DoorDash, and I've never been so sick after eating something in my life. It took 80 minutes for my food to arrive, and everything was so cold that it could not have possibly been warm when it left the restaurant. My food spent about 20 minutes in transit. I had barbecue chicken with the greens, mac & cheese, and yams... it was so cold and not good. I shouldn't have eaten it at all, but I paid for it so I did, and then I paid for that decision. I was so sick the next day. The entire meal... Let's just say it didn't stay down. I missed work, even had a fever. Not sure if it was the chicken or the turkey in the greens but it was terrible. For days, I didn't feel OK and couldn't eat a full meal.

Wednesday: My friend treated me to Annie's Soul Delicious as part of a birthday gift! She always knows the best soul food restaurants. Annie's was wildly flavorful, plentiful & delicious! Catfish Dinner w/3 sides($23): The Catfish was seasoned incredibly well; enjoyed every bite, huge portions; plenty of leftovers! Sides: Brussel Sprouts: One of my favorites, juicy & seasoned to perfection, will definitely get again! Candied Yams: Yum! Absolute must try; perfectly sweet & savory! Mac & cheese: Loved, so cheesy w/a combo of 5 different cheeses! Triple Crispy Peach Cobbler($6): My absolute favorite, which I got to go! I've never had Peach Cobbler like this before!! Their special syrup is truly something special, as well as the crispiness of it all! After lunch, I treated us to dessert! She selected a Twix Cupcake, which sounded delicious as well, to go! Cornbread w/Butter: So amazing that I went back to the counter to ask what was in it... the girl smiled and said "Magic Butter!" Haha! It's delicious & goes great with the mini pieces of corn bread muffins! Yum! Customer Service: Great dining experience! Our waitress was so nice and incredibly helpful with the menu, which was greatly appreciated, because we took a while... So many things sounded so good! Our waitress even gave us a Welcoming Drink, which was absolutely delicious; colorful tasting Kool-Aid/Punch! (Thanks again!) Overall: The food & music had us dancing in our seats... naturally high on life! Haha! We even met Annie briefly! Everything I ate was delicious & we both had plenty of leftovers; large portions. I'm curious to try the Hennessey Cauliflower... never heard of that, but it sounds interesting! Haha! Looking forward to returning & trying a number of items! Still thinking about that Peach Cobbler... it's a winner!!

Disappointed. Maybe because I ordered delivery. But the short rib was so much fat and the beans tasted burnt. Unfortunately not a great experience. I rarely post these but I'm sad about this one. I'll try again another time

I mean, it was just awful. Food was cold. Chicken had no seasoning, was dry and had very little meat on its bones, fried cabbage was way too salty. It was a DoorDash order, so maybe that had something to do with it. But if you're looking to spend 40 bucks on a Saturday night, buyer, beware.

I've eaten at Annie's a few times in the past and love the food. Not sure what happened, but their physical location on Fairfax is closed. If you want to order now, you go to a storefront cement lobby with lockers and place your order. You can also order from other eateries as well. The food will then be delivered while you wait around with others who have ordered from various places. Not sure what this is all about, but thought it was a strange thing. If I wanted my food delivered, I wouldn't have driven 30 minutes to get there and then 30 minutes to get back home just for the food to be delivered, while standing inside of a cold cement lobby with others. Rather, I could have ordered from the comfort of my home. Unfortunately, when I go on my next soulfood run, Annie's will not be on the list. Reply: Don't know how to do a reply. So I'm doing it as an edit. No I did not order online. My intention was to dine out. I enjoy dining out and connecting with people. If you have a physical location, I would enjoy visiting again.

I placed an order for 2 short rib dinners and received beef something no short ribs in sight. I also ordered a bbq chicken dinner the breast was so very dry! The potato salad was soupy. I could go on but I am nursing the loss of$100 while eating my peanut butter sandwich. And I donated the $14 to feed someone which is on their website now I wonder is that a scam!

This is my second time coming to Annie's but first trying the food (first time we just wanted a couple of desserts and they were out). Overall the food is solid and the service is outstanding. The owner was there both times we went and she's so friendly! And when there was an issue, she went above and beyond to make it right. It was my son and me on this trip and we tried a few different items. 1. Fried chicken sandwich - 5 stars! It was hot, fresh, and delicious! The bun was soft, the sauce was tasty, and the chicken was very juicy. 2. Fried chicken - 2.5 stars - unfortunately this was the low point of the dinner. The first two pieces they gave me weren't hot, and the drumstick was tiny. They apologized and replaced it with 2 large thighs. 1 was hot and fresh and the second tasted reheated. But I was glad they made an attempt to correct. The biggest issue is that it just doesn't have enough seasoning. The fresh one was moist and had a great crispy skin; but the batter needs some more salt & pepper at a minimum. 3. Mac and cheese - 4 stars. It was a solid batch of Mac n cheese. Definitely better than many places in the area, but not super special either. 4. Candies yams - 4.5 stars. These were very good! The right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming, served hot, and nearly perfect. I prefer a little more texture which is the only reason I didn't give them a 5, but it was very good. 5. Cornbread dressing - 4 stars. This was pretty tasty as well. TBH, I didn't think they looked that good when I opened the container, but it was surprisingly flavorful. Maybe a touch too much sage, but very good overall. 6. Peach cobbler - 5 stars. There's no picture because it didn't stand a chance! Hot, sweet, great amount of crust, everything. I just moved to LA from Atlanta and we have some delicious peach cobbler down there (it's the Peach State after all). And this peach cobbler definitely stood up with some of the best of them. Besides the issue with the fried chicken dish, my only other issue was all the packaging. Whether you're eating in the restaurant or taking it to go, everything is packaged in disposable containers, large bags, and with plastic utensils. I'd love to see them go to reusable dishes and utensils. Outside of that, Annie's is a solid spot for soul food on the west side of LA. We'll definitely be back!

It's in a pick up hub with the kitchens in the back. Order online and pick up is easy.The oxtail dinner is amazing and comes in a generous tub of quality gravy...this gels when you refrigerate the leftovers so not full of fillers. The sides were also great size. The best oxtails I've had! Will absolutely be back and try other items

*EDIT* The owner reached out to me and apologized for the error and took care of it, which we really appreciated! We ordered over $80 worth of food and they forgot to add the fried chicken, the main item! I understand that restaurants are busy but is it that difficult to make sure that the order is correct? The restaurant took an hour and a half to prepare our order and they couldn't get it right! I called the restaurant to let them know that they missed the main entree and got one of the side orders wrong. The best they could offer was for me to drive 30 mins across town the next day to pick it up! They didn't even offer to give me a partial refund for the items that were missing from the order. We were loyal customers and never had this issue when they were located on Fairfax. Unfortunately, we will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Ms. Annie is a blessing to the community! The food is out of this world. The best Greens and Oxtails that I've had in a long time. The service was fast on a Saturday. I'm an hour and a half away with no traffic and will make this drive again. The shrimp was good and the fries as well. The Banana pudding and Peach Cobbler is really good as well.
