"Kirkwood's Home of the "Ghetto Burger" It's easy to drive past the restaurant without giving it a second look, especially in an area surrounded by run down strip malls and liquor stores. But it's here that you'll find what the Wall Street Journal named the "Best Burger in America." But it's Ann's that claimed the title for the ubiquitous "Ghetto Burger," a mess of two beef patties, lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, ketchup and grilled onions. It's served in a humble fashion, on styrofoam plates at one of eight counter seats or on the covered patio, complete with mismatched chairs and astroturf for flooring. The burgers are best served alongside fries with spicy seasoning. Named for its late matriarch, Ann Price ran the restaurant from 1972 until mid-2015. She enforced a list of rules displayed above the counter, including "no cursing" and "no consuming alcohol in the snack bar." Parking is limited and waits can be long for the eatery that opens at 11 am Tuesday to Saturday. By noon, you might be surrounded by people, all waiting upwards of 30 minutes for a deliciously sloppy burger. The snack bar is cash only, but nothing will cost you more than $20."
"The now famous ‘Ghetto’ burger created by the late “Miss Ann” Price of Ann’s Snack Bar in Kirkwood is a must-eat-before-you-die dish in Atlanta." - Beth McKibben
This place is a total food experience, the installations aren’t in good shape since it’s a really old place, but, I think that’s part of the experience and the feeling of “Ghetto” they want to show.
The burger it’s different from all the burgers that I’ve tried so far in USA, I can say that it’s UNIQUE and the price it’s amazing just $9, you can really feel the soul style added to the burger and it’s simply amazing, totally worth of trying.
Fact: Being serve by the owners it’s a amazing experience

I was sceptical when I walked in because of the buzz, i expected the place to be beautifully decorated. It looked a regular neighborhood burger joint. What impressed me was the taste. I can honestly say this is the best burgers I have tried before. I got both the hood and ghetto burgers and they both were delicious. And they were huge and I only ate a quarter of both burgers and I was full. I kept the left over for dinner. I'm impressed. It's a must try.

The home of the Ghetto Burger, this place is the real deal! Don't go hungry because it takes forever for the food to get to the table. We waited about an hour. (That's the only reason I'm giving it 4 but I wish I had the option of giving it 4.5). However when that burger arrives, it is glorious!! It's a no fuss burger, a super thick pattie , moist and juicy. The Ghetto Burger has chilli on top and is out of of this world! Few seats. But it's super homey, people talk to you and super chill vibe. If you're stuck up and decide to stay away because the place might look a bit torn down from the outside, it's your loss!

The burger and fries were delicious! The staff treat you like home and welcome you as long as you don't break a rule in their rule board. The wait times are high, but the food is worth it! You also get a good conversation in while waiting if you put yourself out there. The Ghetto Burger is one of the best burgers I've had!

Notice the meat hanging over the bun. I ordered 5 ghetto burgers, I waited 30 mins, I got 2, he got 3. I ate a half of 1 on the way home, got home slowly ate the other half. Got up this morning ate half. Its addictive. I want to eat the other half now while writing this but then this journey will be over. Fantastic burgers. Favorite juicy burger spot.

Friendly staff.. Burgers cooked to order and you have a view if it's not busy.. I went with the hood burger and flavor was throughout the burger.. Grilled onions, coleslaw, chili, cheese and others on a massive burger that took up the entire plate. Lemonade and fries accompanied the burger that I shamelessly could not finish. Two people could share easily.
Give them a try, you'll thank me later 😁😁

Food was AH-MAZING! We had split sandwich & ghetto burger. Yummmmm. So many flavors & fresh ingredients. Fruit punch was actually kool-aid overloaded w/ sugar. Outdated eating area (old barstools & picnic tables on an enclosed porch). The outstandingly flavorful food made up for the ambience. Will definitely be back!!!
