How Birria Tacos Became Popular in Austin - Eater Austin

"Esparza, because Mexican Americans themselves are leading the experimentation. Even he admits he has a soft spot — or at the very least, a tolerance — for adaptations like birriamen, which he points out was actually first conceptualized by Mexico City chef Antonio de Liver for his burgeoning restaurant chain, Animo." - Trey Gutierrez

Fab Italian spot for elevated pizza, pasta and killer cocktails. Vibe-y and fun at night. My fave is the Caesar pizza. This place is downstairs from our old apt in Mex City. Tell Klaus, the owner, that I sent you.

Anónimo was phenomenal. The best Caesar salad (césar salad) I’ve truly ever had. Edgar, our server, was wonderful!! Super friendly and attentive and funny. Hope you get him as your server. Best dirty martini I’ve had in Mexico City. The four of us split four pastas and a pizza and we couldn’t decide on which was best because they were all so good. And save room for the tiramisu because wow. One of the best meals I’ve ever had in Mexico City. Can’t recommend enough.

The Caesar salad was excellent—I loved it. I also ordered the lemon pasta, which was really good. It had a unique herb flavor that was light and refreshing. The service was amazing. My server was so kind and made me feel right at home, even though I was dining alone. I asked to have my plate packed to go right away, but he gently encouraged me to try a little while it was hot. I’m really glad I did because it was so fresh and delicious. I still enjoyed the leftovers later, which are what you see in the photos. The restaurant itself is a charming little corner spot, with people walking by, trees all around, and a cozy, elegant vibe. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves—looking good, having great food, and just really soaking in the moment. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

Dinner was delicious, vibrant atmosphere, attentive waitstaff! We had Lis who was so sweet and helpful. She was great with us even though we did not speak Spanish. Food and drink prices were cheaper than expected! Definitely order the pizza and save room for dessert. I wish I could buy the special sauce they served alongside dinner!

I’ll start by saying that the atmosphere was really nice despite having a bit of wind. I imagine it would be an amazing place to have a slow meal and drinks on a day with better weather. The service was also great. The only thing I found lacking a little bit was the food. The pizza had an incredible amount of oil, and the gluten free pasta did as well. This was totally fine in the beginning, got a little heavy by the end, and made for a less pleasant evening of our bodies working their way through all of the oil. So the food was pretty good to begin but the experience got a bit worse as it went on. I’d probably come back again, try something new and focus on slowing the pace of the meal and not falling in the trap of over indulgence (I regretted that).

We had a great lunch here, a casual but upscale Italian when it comes to quality, with great pizza and pasta. Also had a cocktail (hibiscus marguerita) and mocktail (raspberry and grapefruit) and both were good. The setting is really quaint and nice sitting on a nice street corner. Eduardo was our waiter, and explained the menu really well to the two of us who don’t know Spanish. A small remark is that all the food arrived at the same time, but it was really good so we didn’t mind that much.

Been here twice, first time I tried a couple of their pizzas, lasagna and cheescake with a group of friends. Second time was alone and had their gnocchi Every dish was excellent, their cocktails are also amazing, specially the Bijou The service from Jesus was impeccable It is pricey, but it’s one of those few places that are actually worth it

We just arrived in Mexico City jet lagged and were wondering around to find some food and we stumbled upon Anonimo. It was superb! Food was amazing (i think this might be the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had) & service was great too. Shoutout to Gabriel for being very kind and patient, explaining each dish to us.

This is my favorite break from Mexican food in cdmx. Everything on the menu is high quality. The pasta flavor combos are unique and addicting. The pizza is always absolutely delicious and hits the spot. The wine selection is beautiful. The service is definitely why I keep returning. It’s very attentive and prompt and all of the staff is super helpful and nice! They also speak English which is a bonus when I have visitors from back home.
