We truly had a phenomenal experience at anpeiji. The Chef's background in French and Japanese Cuisine shine through unique courses evocative on both cultures' love of beauty, locality, and seasonality in food. From the appetizers all the way to the desserts, every course was unique, unexpected, and delicious. On top of the world class food, I was in a group of four tourists from America, and the chef and server were both incredibly warm and totally capable of conversing in English as needed.
If you are visiting Kyoto and have interest in Michelin quality food, it is a short bus or taxi away from the downtown area, but well worth your visit.
