I love Asian fusion, so my partner made a reservation at Anqi to try it out. The food was overall good, with some small misses. They also gave an ice cream scoop and a candle for my birthday. Note: They do charge an extra 3% on the bill that go to kitchen staff. The service was nice and friendly. Though, the initial reception was a bit weird. When we walked in, dressed all nice (majority of the customers were very casual), the host asked, "How can I help you?" with a questioning tone of voice instead of a smile and being welcoming. It was as if he was wondering why we are here. Maybe he was just having a bad day. * Award-Winning Tombo Tuna Tacos 5/5 - This wouldn't be my usual go-to, but I really enjoyed it. The tuna was mildly spicy, packed inside a hard taco shell that tasted like a big Doritos chip. The yuzu kosho condiment was good and the caviar added a nice texture on top. * Shrimp & Lobster Dumplings 3/5 - Tasted underwhelming. The sauce was mild, didn't taste like much. The shrimp and lobster were grounded and mixed together, so you can't taste the actual meat. It was reminiscent of a dim sum shrimp ball. * AnQi Signature Prime Ribeye + Vietnamese Black Pepper Sauce 5/5 - The ribeye came out sizzling on a salt block where you can let it cook to your desired doneness. The ribeye paired amazingly well with the complex-tasting pepper sauce. Definitely the highlight of our dinner. * Grilled Prawns 5/5 with Garlic Noodles 3/5 - The garlic noodles were garlicky and buttery. However, the noodles themselves weren't good, kinda limp and overcooked, not chewy. The prawns were really good. * Lychee Cloud Mocktail 5/5 - Delicious. It tasted like a sweet tropical dessert. Similar to a Pina colada but with a more creamy coconut flavor.

This is a great Asian fusion at the restaurant it has something for everyone. We came here with a party of four on a Sunday night, easily got a table not a problem. I'm guessing this place gets pretty packed on the weekend though. For appetizers we had Tombo Tuna Tacos and Shrimp & Lobster Dumplings. Both were very delicious and presentation was. Our entrees were Crispy Orange Peel Chicken, Misoyaki Butterfish, Grilled Prawn Garlic Noodles, Kung Pao Eggplant. And by far the eggplant was the winner for us all. Interestingly, they don't give you chopsticks, which is kind of strange since it is a a Asian fusion restaurant, but apparently nobody cares. 😆 I would come back here but only for a special occasion.

Oops!…We Tried It Again. What happened to this once great restaurant? After being disappointed the last several times we were here, my Wife and I decided to take a break for a while. We decided to give it one last try. It’s hard to believe the food is even worst than before. If you plan on ordering the WAGYU DRUNKEN NOODLES, be prepared to be disappointed. If you’re wondering where the Wagyu Beef is, it’s the ground up looking substance mixed in with the rest of the dish. They call it “diced Wagyu” , but if it were diced , the Wagyu would remain in cubes or chunks of meat, allowing you to experience its superior quality. How they serve it is more like mush. We also ordered the GRILLED OCTOPUS AND PAPAYA SALAD. The Octopus should have come out grilled and nicely charred, however what we were served was not and was soggy from being unfrozen with a light coat of uncooked batter. My wife also ordered the HEAVENLY PEAR MARTINI. We used to really enjoy this drink. Unfortunately, they eliminated all of the good ingredients needed to make this the way they used to. Now it just tastes like a bitter, tart lemon drop. Good by pear. We do not recognize this restaurant anymore and we won’t be coming back again any time soon.

Every dish we ordered tastes so good. We ordered a lot of dishes, the most popular one at our table was the lobster dumpling and butterfish. The price is high. Service is good. It’s a good option for special occasions. Highly recommended.

If you're in for Asian fusion dishes, this is a great spot for you. Awesome presentation on each dishes. Have to try all their specialties. Reservation is highly recommend on weekends. The lounge chairs for some of the tables is a great touch but it's the most uncomfortable chair.

This place is absolutely amazing. Not cheap but worth every penny. I tried the lamb chops. They were delicious!!! My guest was a vegetarian and was very pleased with their food choices. Service was phenomenal.

Google
AnQi Bistro is so good. They do a good job of blending different Asian flavors together. My favorite is the Eggplant, the way AnQi does eggplant is better than any other Asian style I know however on my 3rd visit the eggplant was soggier than the first 2 times and all the times after. The lamb chops were exploding with flavor and the butter fish was cooked perfectly. The service is pretty good and the atmosphere was just so cool. AnQi does have some consistency issues but overall it is very good.

Yelp
Really amazing food. Priced too high. Garlic rice was well seasoned jasmine rice with garlic flavoring 4/5 $14 Garlic noodles were good. 5/5 Lamb chops $42 were fine, was expecting better larger portions for the price. Good vegetables- spinach and tomatoes underneath with nice potatoes, 4/5 Tomahawk steak $153, is nice to have a large rib steak, but after the bone is cut off, feels just like any other steak. 4/5 Fun dry ice table side "ice cream" like creamistry liquid nitrogen.- product is chunkier than the competition. 4/5 Nice artsy interior, with hanging Christmas trees

Yelp
I'm not over this way much but when I am, AnQi is normally my go-to when I need to eat. Walking in, bartender greeted me right away and I realize she was the same one I had last visit, and this was a relief. Helpful and friendly, she was diligent and able to answer any question I had regarding the menu. The one item I was looking forward to (garlic rice) is not currently available which was devastating (if this was the worst part of my day, so be it) but it will be back on the menu within the month thankfully. I ended up with their version of the caesar salad, which was really good. One thing that was new is that they now add a 3% 'Back of House' fee onto the bill which can be removed. I wonder if anyone here will take notice, as this is a first I've seen in Orange County. The odd experience I had on this trip was with who I believe was the manager at the time. There was a guy in a suit who was chatting up the patrons down the way at the bar (assuming they were regulars), no big deal. On my way out, I saw him again and asked if he was the manager, he replied, 'yeah' instead of a more professional answer that most managers would have provided. I went to compliment the bartender/staff and from his demeanor, he could not give a care in the world. Most managers would be thrilled to hear of a positive experience and provide their card, this one couldn't be any more uninterested in hearing from me. I have to assume it was me since he certainly didn't lack social skills as he talked up topics such as fantasy football, etc. to other patrons prior to me speaking to him. Most likely he won't be there on my next visit since managers tend to cycle in and out for one reason or another, good or bad. That being said, I sure hope the next one is a lot friendlier since this one didn't really represent AnQi as it should be. (Review was drafted from a few months ago.)

Yelp
I made reservations for last Monday at 1 PM for five people or at least I thought I did. It must not have went through because they did not have my reservation. However, not a problem as the restaurant was not crowded. Two of us came for the Roasted Crab, but it must've been a while ago cause the price is now $125. Quite a bit higher than the current market price, but we treated ourselves. Since not everyone was ordering roasted crab we went ahead and ordered ours out of the shell. I think I enjoyed it more with the buttery seasoned shell, but this was good too. We also ordered the Crispy Garlic Rice With Mushrooms. Delicious. I think there were at least 3 different types of mushrooms. Love the crispiness of the rice. And of course we had the Garlic Noodles Their service was very nice and the ambience paired nicely with the meal.

Yelp
I love this place! I have celebrated many milestones with them-birthdays, graduations, anniversaries. The service is always professional and excellent. It's located in the Bloomingdales in the South Coast Plaza mall so its always nice to shop around and come here afterwards for a nice meal. Every dish they have has never missed the spot. My favorite is the Garlic noodles and I have to get that every time I come regardless of what i order-such a classic and so good. If you have room for dessert, try their tableside ice cream. It's always fun and a nice little show when ending dinner. Can't wait to come back in the future!

Yelp
Really love the steak sauces here! We've had the calamari, garlic noodles, anqi signature prime ribeye, and anqi wok shaken beef. The black pepper sauce is amazing! Calamari is great, didnt taste the sauce very much. Garlic noodles are also yummy! The shaken beef is not as good as normal Chinese restaurants. At x4 times the price, a small portion, and a 45$ price point, I was hoping they'd at least have some rice to go with it. It is on the dry side but still appreciated the plating and you technically pay for the ambiance! had great service both times with no wait time at all! Will say this is on the much pricier side, and after the couple times I've visted, I'd say the garlic noodles and steak (sauces) are my favorite items on the menu!

Yelp
Food was pretty tasty. We were really hungry and ordered a whole bunch of appetizers. It came really fast. The best part was the calamari (fried with basil and Thai seasoning) very delicate.. The ambience was hip. Beers were slightly overpriced. $15/ashahi.. but service was good. We will go back again and have tap water. lol

Yelp
I have been going here forever and I love it!!! The food is so good and the ambiance is stellar! Tonight I ordered the Kimchi rice, shrimp and lobster dumplings, and grilled prawns W/ Ann famous garlic noodles. Everything was fresh and made well! 5/5 for the food The service was 5/5 for me. Our server was very nice and attentive the entire time. Must I add she gave some good options as well. For my drink I ordered the heavenly pear and it was so good!! Not too sweet and very smooth! The ambiance is perfect for any occasion and celebrations! They have good deserts, with the ice cream made at the table being very popular! It's very nice decor and spacious inside! Very nice bar too! I highly recommend and if you like their sister restaurant Crustacean you will love it here! Good service, food, cocktails, and nice ambiance! -Marshay D.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to visit this fine establishment over at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. My girlfriend and I reserved a table on the 7th of September for our anniversary and it was a bit on the late afternoon, around 2pm, so it was not too busy but still had family and couples at the restaurant. Superb interior and very welcoming. Seems like it would be a nice dinner spot but let's talk about their food! FOOD Shrimp & Lobster Dumplings Personally I enjoyed this one the most on our appetizers, not entirely sure what the yellow sauce accompanying the dumplings but it paired really well with the scallion and cherry tomatoes! Amazing flavor in every bite! Salt & Pepper Calamari The right crisp and perfect pairing with the Thai Basil Aioli. Actually, I really enjoyed this app as well even if it's just fried calamari. These small bites alone were irresistible that you're guaranteed to find yourself continually munching on them until it's all gone! Turmeric Roasted White Fish Remarkable bold flavor, especially that creamy Jasmine rice at the bottom of the white fish. The only feedback I can say is if you're considering on this dish, don't think twice. Get it! AnQi Wok Shaken Beef Another superb dish! The secret sauce on the shaken beef will leave you wondering and figuring out what in the world did they used to make such a delightful meal. Cherry tomatoes were a nice touch as well! OVERALL We'll be visiting again soon. We're interested in An's Famous Garlic Noodles as it was mentioned in their "Our Story" section. Can't find anything to say that needs any sort of improvement, very relaxing environment, abundance of entrees to choose from, delicious flavor, arrival time of our food was perfect on top of food presentation. And how can I forget, our server at the time (9.7.25 @ 2:00pm) was polite, accommodating and extremely friendly. Thank you again for having us AnQi, we'll see you again real soon!

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance -- 10 stars! We were a party of 50 celebrating our company party, and the entire staff did an amazing job attending to everyone in a timely and professional manner. Despite the size of our group, service was efficient, friendly, and well-organized. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make our event special. Highly recommend for large groups and special occasions!

Yelp
Duy was amazing! Food (his recommendations) were amazing. I was lazy to write a review but his recommendations were so good that I had to come here to thank him. What an amazing ambiance the staff create here, thanks Duy.

Yelp
Lucky me! My cousin treated me to a wonderful lunch. We had the King plate which included their famous crab, garlic prawns and garlic noodles. We also ordered the butterfish which was sitting on top of red Forbidden rice and accompanied by baby bok choy. We had a mocktail, teas, and I had a lavender milk latte. For dessert they brought me some coconut sorbet and we also ordered the lychee panna cotta to share. I think that there were small cubes of pandan jello topping it which was a nice addition. All in all, I will definitely be back!

Yelp
My friend and I came in for lunch and was seated right away. We ordered our food and only got the appetizer. 35 minutes later we are still waiting for our food. We were over the wait and just left because we had to go back to work. The waiter was nice enough to comp our appetizer and explained about being short staffed in the kitchen. Sad to say that I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Came to AnQi on a Saturday for lunch and the inside was absolutely beautiful with fancy upscale vibes. I ordered the Kagoshima A5 Wagyu lunch special and thought it was kind of odd that the waiter told me a lot of people don't like it and asked if I wanted to switch lol. The beef had a nice texture but it was a little salty and I felt like there was way too much rice compared to everything else lol. The ribeye special was really good and much more balanced. We also ordered the sashimi which was super fresh and delicious. Overall the restaurant is gorgeous and has a classy atmosphere but the food itself didn't taste as special as I expected.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying they gave good service, sat us down quickly, and brought out our food in a timely manner. We ordered the Lobster Shrimp Dumplings, Garlic Noodles, Orange Chicken, and Wok Veggies The lobster / shrimp dumplings were good, the garlic noodles were okay but nothing impressive, the orange chicken was fine, and the wok veggies were basic and not expected (spinach and sweet potato) -- from what we got, way overpriced but still a good meal Overall, if you would like to take nice pictures (bc there's a nice aesthetic), get some quick food while here at South Coast Plaza, but pay a little extra, then come here (:
google avatar

Morgan N.

Yelp
Pricey BUT the quality is worth! I would pass on the garlic noodle though, nothing out of this world in terms of flavor. The lunch ribeye steak fried rice was pretty decent but wished there was a sauce of some sort to go with it. The orange chicken was really flavorful. The kimchi dumplings were to die for but it only came with 4. The tombo tuna tacos were pretty amazing and a must try for the first time.

Yelp
Flavorful food, nice service, easy parking and nice vibes. The food here has improved over the years and the quality and flavor is much better. Great option for a pre-theater meal! Highly recommend their famous tuna tacos, truffle gem Caesar and the wok vegetables.

Yelp
Read this review if you're planning to make a trip!!!! My 1st experience at AnQi Bistro was everything I expected. Friends raved about the quality of the food but could never find the time to dine so it was fitting they would play host to them and 40 other friends for a birthday celebration. The decor inside definitely gives you that Asian Fusion vibe and the food & experience was equally as complimentary with exceptional flavors. We were in the banquet room so we had a prefix meal and every item/presentation was great. At times we found ourselves talking more than eating and the staff made sure we empty the shareable dishes to our plates to make us feel not so guilty!! For our First Course, we had An's Famous Roasted Crab. Initially, we saw the shell and then realized lots of crab was available under and around the decor. Garlic Noodles had a great flavor and had An's secret sauce. Grilled Prawns, Garlic Rice, and Seasonal Wok Veggies. Second Course was GREAT.... Misoyaki Butterfish was flakey and served with this Reed Cargo Rice and Boo Choy. The Peking chicken with the Ginger Truffle Scallion sauce was so good. We had Roasted Cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts that were good along with some Cheddar Potato Puree to be served along with the Tomahawk Wagyu Ribeye that served up on a Sizzling block. Didn't need the sauce on my 1st pass as the steak was so good. Thankfully, the staff served me up some more and I had the Cognac Crew and Malaysian black pepper sauce. We had a great experience and the staff was one point. I stayed at a nearby hotel to attend the event while visiting, and I was able to build an easy rapport with the staff as they came highly recommended via my hotel's restaurant. Looking forward to returning here again

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, outstanding service and good food. Unfortunately for us the party of 6 at the next table were super annoying, loud and obnoxious, making our outing unpleasant. We've been there before and love the food. The cocktails were excellent too. You must try the Garlic noodles- it's just outstanding.

Yelp
Very large and sexy venue serving Asian fusion. Conveniently located inside South Coast mall. Overall giving it a 3.5 rating most of which comes from the garlic noodles and grilled octopus and papaya salad. 1. Grilled octopus and papaya salad: generous portion of perfectly cooked chewy octopus bite sized meat mixed in with fresh papaya stripes, cherry tomatoes and I believe they were pepper stripes. Tasting very fresh, healthy, and refreshing. 2. Garlic noodles with chicken: what can I say very delicious stir fried noodles with an aroma of garlic flavoring. Added the chicken which I thought was the perfect touch. However if you're like me can have this dish alone. Needs a mix with another spicy dish or fresh veggie included dish. 3. Tombo Tuna taco: essentially mashed tuna (similar to how they make spicy tuna rolls) stuffed in taco shell garnished with Xavier and slice of avocado. Honestly didn't quite understand the hype around this one. Would pass next time 4. Shrimp and lobster dumplings: nothing special. 5. Oh yes and their cocktails are on another level. Must try them. Believe mine was called "Enter the Dragon"....served in a clear case to soak in the Smokey flavor into the drink. Sooooo good and very sexy.

Yelp
The service, decor, plating, flavor, and ambiance are all of high standard, making the restaurant suitable for both business and romantic dinners. Paired with cherry tomatoes, the Shrimp & Lobster Dumplings, prepared with Crème Fraîche and Lemongrass Saffron Nage, were rich and delicately flavored. Although pricey at $18 for four dumplings, they were worth it. The three award-winning Tombo Tuna Tacos, priced at $21, were seasoned with Yuzu Koshō and contained a small amount of truffle and caviar. They tasted alright. However, the quality of the taco shells was better than those found in typical Mexican restaurants. The taco shells were remarkably thin and crispy, requiring minimal effort to chew, thus suitable for people with dental issues. The Misoyaki Butterfish was succulent. The Dijon-Misoyaki Glaze had a slightly sweet taste, but it was refined and complex, much better than the simple sweetness found in typical American-Chinese restaurants. What I appreciated most was the rice served alongside the miso fish. The red cargo rice, infused with the subtle fragrance of Thai herbs, was remarkably aromatic, even on its own. Indeed, this dish justified its high price of $42. For dessert, Warm Beignets. Sprinkled with powdered sugar and with a fried pastry texture, they were, well, like a donut without a hole in the middle. They were served with a super-rich Vietnamese Coffee Crème Anglaise. Glad I got Tahitian Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ($5 extra) to balance the sweetness. Not being a fan of alcohol, I ordered a Lychee Cloud mocktail containing lychee, coconut, pineapple, and yuzu rose water. It had a nice balance of slight sourness and sweetness, and was quite enjoyable. Even small details like the straw showcased their attention to refinement. It seemed to be specially made, with just the right length and thickness. Its visual appeal and texture were superior to the cheap straws found in bubble tea shops. The combination of soft yellow warm light and flora under a clear glass tabletop makes beautiful photographs. Also, while I was busy taking photos and my food got cold, the waiter thoughtfully offered to reheat it in the kitchen for me.

Yelp
Came here for some light bites and cocktails. The restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings, modern decorations, and gives off a classy-feel. Located at the South Coast Plaza Mall in Bloomingdales. Anqi is an Asian fusion restaurant with a Vietnamese background. Pricey for what it is, but given the ambiance, makes sense. Ace of Spades (5/5) - $17. Bourbon, vanilla liquor, chocolate bitters, and cinnamon. Elevated old fashion with a twist of flavors that works well together. They'll light the orange on fire tableside, to caramelize the oils of the orange before going into your drink. Subtle detail but elevates the drink. Saigon Sling (5/5) - $18. Tequila, cointreau, tamarind, lime, agave, spicy bitters. Looks like a simple drink but is well executed. Has a nice balance of flavors without being overly strong or sweet. The slight spiciness compliments the drink profile. Grilled Octopus & Papaya Salad (4/5) - $26. The octopus is incredibly tender with a charred taste that's apparent from the grill. However, the dressing for the papaya salad is a little too sweet for my liking. I'd get this again just for the octopus. Truffled Sashimi (3.5/5) - $27. Hamachi and Albacore seasoned with truffle ponzu sauce and topped with tobiko caviar. Reminder that this is not a sushi restaurant, but this dish is prepared decently well. The truffle oil was a nice touch with the ponzu sauce creating an umami taste. Service was hospitable and attentive, providing us with recommendations for food/drinks. Surprisingly what stood out to me the most were the cocktails. Overall I'd come back again for the drinks, food being secondary.

Yelp
We had a delightful New Year's Day luncheon at AnQi bistro. They are located at the entrance to Bloomingdale's from the parking lot. Really elegant vibe with mood. It was still decorated for Christmas holidays with cute trees and ornaments. The kids devoured the garlic noodles so that was a success. The prawns were a bit overdone and stringy so I would pass on their addition next time. The wagyu drunken noodles were great. The noodle was soft and cooked just right. I liked the flavor and the veggies that balanced the ground wagyu. N enjoyed his ribeye and egg. They have a menu that ranges in pricing so I could definitely see this also as a romantic date night destination with their hot stone meats and appetizers. Service was friendly and patient. They had plastic cups for the kids which always helps and high chairs.

Yelp
I have not been here in over 5 years and came back with some colleagues and was wondering why we have not visit the restaurant in a long time. The food was amazing and it seems like it's a lot different than I remembered it. The service was impeccable and the food and the selections was everything we were expecting. As usual we ordered a whole bunch of little dishes so we could try everything out and the food did not disappoint. The garlic noodle was incredible. I am definitely going to be a regular again. Keep up the great work.

Yelp
Foods: wagyu- so hard and tough! Rice with soy sauce? Didn't finish it! Glass or water smells fishy! Didn't drink it! So pricy! Nothing special ! Left unhappy and unsatisfied! Never again!

Yelp
This review is coming from somebody who is an AnQi LOVER and has been here for the last 5+ years for her birthday every year. I'm writing this with sadness, as my birthday dinner yesterday was not of the same quality that it was from previous dining years. I'm hoping that it was just a "bad" night for AnQi and that their quality did not compromise over time. If I refuse to take AnQi leftovers home, that says a lot about the quality of the dishes. We ordered the following dishes, spent approx $200+ for dinner, and I will explain all of them down below: - Truffle Sashimi: 5/5, my favorite appetizer hands down. Expensive and small portion, but the sauce is SO good and the cut of fish is SO good. - Filet Mignon Potstickers: Not that good. The crispy skin was amazing, but I felt the filet mignon flavor did not match the potsticker skin well. - An's Famous Garlic Noodles: 5/5, extremely well done and the best garlic noodles I've ever had. Highly recommend. - Crispy Orange Peel Chicken: Not good at all. For being a colored dish, I barely tasted the sauce. It was like a bland marinated fried chicken. Do not recommend. - Misoyaki Butterfish: Usually my FAVORITE dish of the night, this tasted overly salty yesterday and I found myself not eating much of it at all. I'm sad that it did not taste the same as previous visits. I usually devour the entire plate. - Anqi Wok Shaken Beef: This dish is normally super delicious, tender, and flavorful, but it was extremely disappointing yesterday. It was overly salty like the fish and I only ate one shaken beef cube. The potatoes were pretty decent though. Also, I found it odd that for an elevated dining experience, they didn't even "wipe" the sauce cleanly on the dish (it looked just poured on without care - see photo attached) and the presentation was sloppy. I have to say that I LOVED this dish back then, as I took it home once to-go from a work event and it was SO good. I don't think I'll be coming to AnQi any time soon after this experience, which makes me sad because AnQi used to be my favorite restaurant. I truly hope that it was just a bad night for me, or they may need to reassess the quality of their dishes since it has been an AMAZING place for me to dine for my birthday the last few years and I've been a loyal customer for many years.

Yelp
AnQi Bistro - stopped by for an upscale lunch treat to end a great week. Upon entering, we were quick greeting by the hostess and oddly was inquired about any allergies prior to seating my party. For Friday, unlike several other Asian fusion restaurants within the gallery mall, there was no waiting and decent open tables. The interior is "dark" design style that uses darker colors to create a dramatic or moody look (aka maybe even luxe). The wood chairs can be uncomfortable so a seat pad/pillow are available. I ordered the ice tea which is daily brewed from green loose tea leaves. Certainly, a good to drink order, if you're a tea fanatic! I've scanned the ANQI LUNCHEON section and just did t find anything to my liking. I inquired of the turmeric white fish with grained rice (instead of jasmine). The server was gracious, she offered to ask the cook if we can skipped the cream and rice substitute. The cook and our server were awesome and able to deliver a great meal plate and created a sensible relish (to sub in for the creamy sauce that I skipped). She even offered to pack an ice tea to go for me (and my coworkers)!! Certainly, we will need to come back again.

Yelp
Came here as a guest for a friend's birthday dinner--an impressive 40-person celebration tucked away in Anqi's sleek private room. First off, the ambiance definitely screams "we do luxe here," and that was echoed in the menu... maybe a little too loudly. Think filet mignon potstickers, shrimp & lobster dumplings, and tuna tacos topped with caviar--plenty of show, but not always backed by substance. The effort to dazzle was clear, but at times it felt more like culinary theater than flavor-forward cooking. I didn't hate it, but definitely over-the-top. Now the highlight: the roasted crab. Cracked out of the shell and bursting with rich, garlicky goodness--this dish was my favorite. Easily the MVP of the night. The low point? The shaken beef. Completely forgettable and unforgivably dry--honestly felt like it missed the wok by a mile. Garlic noodles were solid, but let's be real, it's pretty hard to mess those up. Service was smooth, and the overall vibe was upscale-fun. Would I come back on my own dime? Maybe--for the crab and cocktails. The Enter the Dragon cocktail with Toki whisky with the smoky presentation? Worth it. But next time, I'd skip the fluff and stick to the hits.

Yelp
I have been dining here for years and the food is amazing. I love pretty much everything on the menu. The service is good and everyone is helpful. Cool atmosphere with nice decor. Great place for a date, birthday, etc. Note : They have a $39 dollar lunch special that I will try next time.

Yelp
With wonderful, warm, welcoming staff, this restaurant located in a prime location within South Coast Plaza in OC really missed the mark. The staff were attentive down to the water refills and trash and plate clearing, all the way to the Tableside Ice Cream, which really stole the show for many reasons. The garlic noodles were good yet the prawns were disappointing; six (6) small shrimpy-looking prawns for +$9 was not what we expected. I was expecting two (2) large prawns! The truffle hainan rice with roasted chicken caught my eye when I first glanced at the menu, but the chicken was dry and overcooked, and there was not a hint of truffle in the rice as advertised. It was one of the worst Hainan plates I've ever had. My suggestion is to stand firm and not get swayed by the short wait times at AnQi and explore the many better dining options at the same mall!

Yelp
We went to Anqi's Friday after thanksgiving. They were very accommodating with our large group (13 people). The food and ambiance were super. We had a few vegetarian friends in our party, the server was very helpful in suggesting options for them. Drink selection is good. The only suggestion, please close the partition wall between the mall and restaurant. The noise from the mall kinda brings down otherwise great dining experience.

Yelp
Nicolai was a very lovely server. He did a great job of explaining everything. The drinks were on point. Appetizers were so good! For dinner, drunken noodles - delish!octopus papaya salad- yum! 2 steaks were ordered- one was on a giant square of pink salt. That was perfect. The other was shaken beef--- it was inedible. Yes--- it was no good. It was way too cooked even though it was requested as medium rare. We wouldn't rush to come back here. But was nice ambiance and service and a decent meal.

Yelp
When at South Coast Plaza, AnQi is one of my go to places to eat. It's located inside of Bloomingdale's. On my first visit, my party and I sat at the bar. Kitty provided excellent service. My most recent visit was after the US Open of Surfing. It was a hot summer day. I didn't have any reservations, so we were seated at the bar again. We were happy to have Kitty again as our server. Surprisingly, she remembered me and my group. We ordered the shaken filet mignon, the dumplings and the garlic noodles. For dessert, we shared the lychee pana cotta. Everything we ordered was top notch. Until next time...

Yelp
Stopped by on recommendations by YE Kat. We sat at the bar. This place had street food stall vibes. Grab a stool and order! Started off the meal with Chicken Truffle Dumpling as an appetizer. The truffle flavor was over powered by Fig reduction and truffle ponzu. $12 Let me tell you the highlight was the Filet Mignon with Rice. The meat was tender. The flavors were on point and it was delicious. $20 The Garlic Noodles with Prawn was okay. I liked the quality with the Prawns. $14 + $8 for the Prawns. Noodles were kind of sad but I am a fan of thick noodles. I added so many toppings and it still didn't have the right kick. Definitely the Filet Mignon is worth a return visit. It had veggies, Filet, and a really nice flavor.

Yelp

Yelp
Honestly shocked they're still in business. If you're in the mood for disappointment, this place delivers ....literally. I ordered the eggplant and was generously served what seemed to be deep-fried eggplant skins. A bold culinary choice, I suppose. The rest of the meal didn't try much harder -- everything else I ordered was firmly planted in the realm of "meh." Mediocre at best. Not rushing back anytime soon... unless I develop a sudden craving for underseasoned letdowns.

Yelp
There are plenty of parking spaces and it's located inside South Coast near Bloomingdales. We made a reservation to dine here. When making reservations, keep in mind that it'll charge $75 per person if they don't show up. Once we arrived, we were seated and given menus. I ordered the An's Famous Garlic Noodles to share and the Misokyaki Butterfish. An's Famous Garlic Noodles was good, even without protein. You can add protein for an extra charge. The Misokyaki Butterfish was so good! It was very soft, flavorful, and delicious! The small rice that came with the butterfish was okay, it was too hard for my taste and not as good. Overall, all the food items were delicious! Recommendation(s): - An's Famous Garlic Noodles - Misoyaki Butterfish Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Restrooms available - Park near Bloomingdales as the restaurant is near that - If you made reservations, $75 per person charge if they don't show up

Yelp
Anqi is one of my favorite restaurants in OC. I recently celebrated my birthday here and the restaurant was very accommodating. Beautiful decor and ambiance. The service was lovely, drinks were strong, and food was flavorful. The table side ice cream is a very cool experience (gram worthy) and tastes amazing. I ordered the Anqi wok shaken beef, and I can't stop thinking about it. Yummm. Anqi is great for date night, happy hour, holiday parties, networking events, and birthdays. Restaurant is located near Bloomingdales, facing the 405 freeway. Lots of parking.

Yelp
I spent $200 at a restaurant that refused to admit that the shrimp they gave me was their version of "grilled prawn." The manager argued with me and told me the shrimp I received was the only way they've served it for 3 years when I was just there 3 months ago and had the real version of grilled prawns. Lesson learned. Some expensive restaurants aren't deserving of your money.

Yelp
A gem! Conveniently located inside South Coast Plaza, upscale dining experience with a gorgeous ambience from the moment you walk in. The service was just as impressive. My waiter was extremely attentive, took the time to answer all my questions, and made sure my order came out exactly the way I wanted it. unfortunately, I'm one of those people who don't know how to order anything on the menu the way it is. While the portions are on the smaller side and it's a bit pricey, the overall experience is worth it. This is a spot I would definitely return to for a special treat or night out.

Yelp
DO NOT miss the Kung Pao eggplant. Food is good, service attentive and the place is still holding up after so many years.

Yelp
Went before a night at Segerstrom and found this to be a good idea. Not only is the food excellent, the drinks well poured, but tell them you're going to Segerstrom and not only is the service better timed but there's a discount, too. Just don't forget to tip generously on the full price!

Yelp
The price is a little high for what it is, but it's still worth coming back. I do in fact, come back often, especially to the noodle bar. The staff always accommodate vegetarian options and does it in a way so that it's friendly and supportive. The full quality is great and the staff is amazing

Yelp
Severe Security Concerns & Unethical Practices, Avoid This Restaurant at All Costs: I am compelled to share my deeply troubling experience with AnQi to warn others. After booking a reservation via OpenTable (which already secures credit card details for no-shows), the manager contacted me demanding a photo of my credit card and photo ID to "verify" my reservation. This is scammer 101 - no legitimate business would ever ask for such sensitive information, especially when payment details are already encrypted through a trusted platform like OpenTable. When I refused this outrageous request, the restaurant canceled my reservation in under 24 hours -- despite their own policy requiring guests to provide 48 hours' notice to avoid a $75 per-person cancellation fee. Not only did they sabotage my Valentine's Day plans with impossibly short notice, but they also had the audacity to threaten me with their punitive fee, even though they were the ones who canceled. This isn't just hypocrisy--it's predatory and exploitative. To make matters worse, another guest reported having their identity stolen after dining here (check out the attachment). If the restaurant feels entitled to strong-arm customers into sharing credit card photos while flouting their own policies, who's to say they'll protect your data -- or compensate you for last-minute cancellations? Why should customers be held to strict penalties while the business faces zero accountability? Where's my $75 for their reckless short-notice cancellation? Chef An has built a reputation, but this manager's actions are destroying it. Asking for credit card photos is a massive red flag - it violates basic privacy norms and opens customers to fraud. OpenTable's existing policies already protect against no-shows, making this demand utterly nonsensical. To potential diners: Steer clear. Your financial security and personal data are at risk here. To OpenTable: Investigate this restaurant's practices immediately. No one should be strong-armed into sharing sensitive information or threatened with baseless fees. To the ownership: Reign in this manager before more customers are harmed. Transparency and trust are the bedrock of hospitality - and right now, this business has neither. Do not dine here until they overhaul their policies. Your wallet and identity deserve better. To the Manager: "Congratulations on your truly inspired attempt to sabotage my Valentine's Day by canceling my reservation at the last possible hour--a move so transparently petty, it's almost impressive. Rest assured, your spiteful little power trip failed spectacularly. Unlike your business, which clearly thrives on chaos and incompetence, I actually plan ahead. My backup arrangements were finalized earlier in the day just after your unprofessional identity request precisely because I anticipated your brand of unprofessionalism. But let's applaud your effort: waiting until the final moments to wield your cancellation button like a vindictive toddler with a hammer? Bravo. It's almost poetic how you've managed to weaponize your own inadequacies. While you're busy patting yourself on the back for... whatever this was, the rest of us will be over here enjoying actual hospitality. P.S. Don't worry--your $75 fee threat is safe with me. After all, someone clearly needs it more to fund a crash course in basic human decency."

Yelp
I Like her Crustacean restaurants in San Francisco and Beverly Hills. Few similar items such as garlic noodles and shaking beef. Sister got the garlic noodles with tofu, tofu was pan fried and really bland- do not order. Should've got it with crab or lobster. Husband got the shaking beef, Delicious. I got the Hamachi, which was very good, the miso cod is good as well. The tuna Tombo tacos appetizers were delicious as were the lobster and shrimp dumplings. I had the signature lychee martini which was delicious. Service was good. This restaurant has like an hour and a half time limit, the server, dropped a check within an hour and a half, and asked us that our time was up at the table which was ridiculous. The restaurant was not even busy. Ambience is busy. It's in the South Coast Plaza Mall . parking is crazy, especially during the holiday season.

Yelp
Went to south coast plaza with my wife and kid to go shopping and the little one got hungry. While we were looking for places to eat we stumbled and saw this place and curious why there wasn't a line. Since we like trying new places we went for it. The drinks were amazing. The Ribeye fried rice with egg was very juicy soft and succulent. The wagyu and fried rice bowl with egg yolk shoyu concoction: meat was cooked well and tasted amazing especially when dipped into that egg yolk but fried rice that came with it was ok. I think they should have the same rice from the Ribeye dish. The prawns with garlic noodles: the amount of prawns in this dish wasn't a lot could add 2 more pieces to get the perfect ratio from protein to noodles. The NOODLES WERE TO DIE FOR!!!!! (This is their specialty!!!!) highly recommend. The ambience was nicely decorated but the song choices didn't go with the theme. Overall the service, the food and the ambiance is well worth the money spent. I highly recommend this place for anyone that enjoys deep flavor throughout different dishes. We will be back.
