We drove here on our way back from LA The entrance was packed around 10 am so we just explored around as we couldn’t get inside the park 😅 This year it’s a full bloom so even outside the park was picturesque — no regrets

Flowers are still in full bloom; now's the time to go visit. :) If you go to the state park, consider parking outside the park and walking in due to long lines to enter (also don't need to pay entrance fee if you park outside the park). State Park has restrooms and plenty of extra port-a-pottys, trails are well maintained, and a place to fill your water bottle is available. There is a more accessible paved trail in addition to longer slightly more difficult loops to some beautiful vistas. Outside the park, there are plenty of vendors right now for fruit, snacks, etc. It is busy with the flowers in bloom, so plan for heavy traffic (both car and pedestrian) around the State Park.

Beautiful area to see the poppies, the park had many smaller patches of poppies, but outside of the park there were many many more.

I have to say, it was a great experience. The landscape was absolutely beautiful, with vibrant colors and breathtaking views. However, the traffic on Saturday was quite heavy, which made getting around a bit more difficult. If you're planning on visiting Antelope Valley, I would recommend taking plenty of water with you, as it can get quite hot and dry out there. Additionally, according to locals, the best bloom will be in a week or two, so plan your trip accordingly. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Antelope Valley, especially during peak bloom season. Just be sure to come prepared with water and expect some traffic on weekends.

April 27, 2023– Poppies in full bloom! There were no flowers at the Preserve, but flowers in abundance at the free parking area only 3 miles from the Preserve.

Great colorful fields with poppies and other flowers. During the weekend it was a bit crowded. There are food trucks and others selling honey, jerky and even jewelry.
