"The café and bakery at Antfarm is just a small subset of this organization, whose goal is not only to serve healthy food from surrounding Sandy farms, but also to train and empower young people within the area. Antfarm is a nonprofit with a host of youth services, including addiction prevention support programs, a youth garden, and outdoor adventure experiences. Beyond being a safe and supportive third place for Sandy kids, the cafe is also a lovely breakfast stop, with sourdough Belgian waffles, lox-topped bagels, and a wide range of espresso drinks." - Levi Rogers

Yelp
AntFarm is pretty incredible. This location is the center of their community in Sandy. Their mission is "to see all people healthy, live with purpose, and contribute to community well-being." At the cafe, they do this by hosting all sorts of events, offering employment and training programs, organizing networking lunches, providing a study space and an informal gathering place, and more. As a regular ol' customer, the staff treats you like family. They greet you with a warm welcome, are authentic in their interactions, and happy to answer questions. The food is delicious and made fresh - I most recently got the breakfast burrito. And the vibe of the cafe is great. Folks came in to work, have meetings or dates, just grab a quick coffee, someone even walked through strumming a guitar. There's bench seating, high top tables, a couple of couches, and a kids area. AntFarm as an organization does a TON - addiction prevention and support, tutoring, music academy, elder support, youth outreach, help for people who speak English as a second language, gardening and outdoor programs for youth, warming and cooling shelters, adult and youth homeless services. They even run a farmers market. Definitely a business worth supporting whenever you're in Sandy!

Yelp
Great food with a great mission to help out those in need. Everything is more or less made from scratch. Great coffee bar, fresh in store made baked goods as well. They have a reasonably extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I had the tomato soup and Greek Veggie wrap. The food came quick. The bowl was plentiful and the soup very heart served with four slices of artisanal bread. I tore the bread up and used as cracker substitutes. The soup is too high end for saltines. The wrap super fresh with big chunks of feta and great Kalamata olives. Finished off with a cappuccino and apple danish. Was very filling lunch and I skipped dinner. The facility itself is rustic and low key. People very attentive and welcoming.

Yelp
It's a nice cafe for drinks and light food. The pressed build Your Own sandwiches were good. The ambiance is nice with some local artwork posted to view (or buy if you choose so).

Yelp
This was the best breakfast we had while in Oregon. The quality was fantastic and the portions were perfect for price point. There was a cool little kid's play area in the back corner and they had high chairs available. I highly recommend the breakfast bowl and iced coffee.

Yelp
Great breakfast experience at AntFarm! This was our first visit here, and it didn't disappoint. The place is cute & clean with plenty of seating...larger tables with smaller ones around the perimeter. The customer service was super friendly. The barista/server was working her booty off this morning, covering the coffee counter, taking orders, and bringing orders to tables...all with a smile. We ordered traditional breakfast plates with eggs, potatoes, bacon, and toast. Everything was prepared fast, to order, and tasted wonderful. Great find, we will definitely return. :)

Yelp
Looking for a healthier and more interesting dining option in Sandy, I was so happy to discover AntFarm a few years ago. The atmosphere is coffee house cooperative and on my lunch visits it has been nice to see people using the open space for get togethers with kids in town in one part of the room while others are getting business done on laptops. Kudos for running a business focused on sustainability, healthy eating, and youth development. The menu is small, but I've enjoyed every item and usually get a sandwich or soup off of the daily specials menu. I was interested to note that they are partnering with another cafe in Estacada to expand their footprint.

Yelp
Yes, Yes. Yes!!! The breakfast bowl is life changing! My only complaint is that I love avocado so much and I want more... but that is only me... the normal person would be fine with this. Delicious!!! Dirty Chai so good! Beautiful spot!

Yelp
Okay, AntFarm brings several things to mind - none of which applied to our experience today. Turns out AntFarm is a community outreach hub that just so happens to include a killer cafe and coffee shop! The amount of community programs that were listed this week alone was astounding. All of that and I haven't even gotten to the food yet! I had a classic BLT - and it was fabulous. Sometimes you order toasted sandwiches and the bread is so sharp it cuts your mouth. This one was *just right*. Delicious bread with just enough crunch, a generous amount of ingredients, and a nice assortment of greens. Each sandwich comes with chips, and they are all very reasonably priced. On top of all of this, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely. This spot is a hidden community gem that is both delicious and worth supporting. Check it out your next time through Sandy! This just might be our new lunch pit stop.

Yelp
Good food & service yet if you are sensitive to any fumes or smells like me, do not go near closing time. They started mopping and cleaning tables all around customers, the whole room smelled like chemicals. Not a good environment for my or my child to be in. Voiced my concern, they kept cleaning, gave me a free drink card & offered to go containers ....

Erin G.

Yelp
Their service is always wonderful and I so appreciate their variety of foods offered that are vegan and gluten-free. It's a great place to hang out with your friends or to have a work meeting. I'm so grateful the town of Sandy has A.N.T. Farm.

Yelp
We were delighted to find this little place in the town of Sandy OR. It was the highlight of our day, considering the clouds obstructed any view of Mount Hood. This cafe has a nice selection of homemade soups & sandwiches, as well as breakfast fare. They make their own bread - delicious! Staff is super friendly and helpful. And the business is a nonprofit that supports youth services. Will definitely return when in the area!

Yelp
The food was delicious as always especially my lox and bagel. The service was so amazing it turned my day that was a just so so day into a great one!

Steven H.

Yelp
This is a great little coffee shop with a welcoming ambiance. They even sell vegetables from their garden. I buy them every time that I can. What's even better, the AntFarm hires youth and teaches them the necessary skills to be successful employees in the future. Please consider supporting this business every chance you get!

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience here. Say you are looking for a conventional eggs and bacon breakfast. Check! It's here, with beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients. Or, you may be looking for healthy alternatives, including greens and fresh veggies. That is hard to find, but it's here!!lets go further, Maybe you're craving five star, freshly made, pastries or waffles. We had some of the best pastries here that we've had in years. Standard, vegetarian, or vegan, its all here and they are flexible enough to modify a dish to suit your needs. When it comes to coffee you may be looking for high-quality brews with dairy or nondairy creamers, light or dark roast drip coffees. Check! There are also healthy smoothies. Its all here! And the current staff really cares. That shows in the food prep. Portions were balanced, not too small or too large. The prices are reasonable, not tourist trap level. I'm sure you know it's almost a miracle to find reasonably priced food. Keep this wonderful place busy! If possible, we usually skip all the obvious tourist trap restaurants anytime we go to a new town. Antfarm allowed us to do that here. They are not the biggest thing in town but they offer the best value with healthy options. If you're looking purely for a large standard American breakfast, go to the go to the big breakfast names in town. However, we believe Antfarm offers the best quality with true health focused options for the most reasonable price. We don't know if we'll ever be in this town again but if we are, we will come back here. There are also games, books, a piano, (we were treated to delightful volunteer piano music) and plenty of space to spread out. We missed pictures on most of our food untouched because we were so hungry. It was all fantastic!

Steven B.

Yelp
It is a welcoming wide open space with very large picnic style tables. Our chicken salad sandwich was quite nice with a few raisins mixed in and grilled and the veggie wrap was quite nice as well with humus. Fresh ingredients and homemade goods.

Dayna F.

Yelp
I wanted to add an updated picture of the menu and pricing! Super great food and drinks. I ordered the bagel and lox, breakfast sandwich, and matcha latte with coconut milk and a pump of vanilla.

Joe S.

Yelp
How do you go to this place and NOT hum Alien Ant Farm's version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal"? I sure couldn't and now I have that song stuck in my head. I guess it's better than having "It's a Small World" stuck there. Anyway, on the never-ending drive out to Mt. Hood, we stopped in Sandy for a quick bite to eat (after Joe's Donuts was closed... Dang it) and had a decent meal in a pleasant environment. I just did a build-your-own sandwich with some Turkey, Rye, Onion, Lettuce, and Tomatoes (the classic TROLT) and it was delicious. The Mrs. had the vegan soup (squash or some other gourd) which was good. The restrooms were clean, they had plenty of vegan options, and the staff was friendly. Just look in from the outside and see all the things going on!

Paula S.

Yelp
Popular little breakfast place! As an out of towner, it looks like the locals enjoy it! My breakfast was tasty and of course I couldn't leave without purchasing a sweatshirt to remember my visit.

Brooks M.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I stop here every time I'm headed through Sandy to or from the mountain. They have stellar coffee and the food is hand made and delicious. The breaky burrito is one of my faves and the potatoes in it are so yummy, I often get them on the side. Breakfast sandwich here is always a win as you basically can build it however you like. The pastries are a-ok, they are very local and use all they can from nearby.

Kelli M.

Yelp
This is such a lovely gathering place in the heart of Sandy! The food is amazing, the coffee is the best in the city, and the staff is helpful! They have a little play corner for kids, so it's a great place to bring the whole family! We love their scratch made soups and our favorite breakfasts like their waffle and biscuits and gravy. So many reasons to love this place...and they support the community in so many ways! It's a must go!

Ronan S.

Yelp
This place is adorable! The people who took our order where kind and patient. Not only do they have plenty of delicious breakfast and lunch options but they have lots of seating to enjoy your food without feeling cramped! Would definitely come again.

Susie H.

Yelp
What a great find! I just googled Bakery Near Me when driving through town. The very best homemade granola and the most magical Chai. If only I had bought that sweatshirt I was looking at! Such a wonderful spot with an awesome mission.

Awmber M.

Yelp
Great fresh food, huge portions, vegan and non-veg options. Service was great. And love the space, tables are awesome, area for kids but not overwhelmingly so. Love this spot

Kodi L.

Yelp
Love the ant farm best local spot in Sandy for breakfast. It's pretty affordable and the breakfast sandos are a lot of food. The people are always really kind and they are big on community outreach. Great spot to support and they give a lot back to the community.

Judit D.

Yelp
Amazing food, great coffee and friendly service. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal.

Kylee M.

Yelp
Love ant farm. Great place to go grab some lunch. Their Hungarian mushroom soup is the best!

Heidi U.

Yelp
stopped for a quick lunch on the way to multnomah falls. not a bad spot, but far from outstanding. my husband had the chicken salad which was a little sweet for his taste. i had a blt that was huge!

Stacy M.

Yelp
They are always so nice and the coffee is great. Also clean and cool gift selection (soap, cards, art).

Scott N.

Yelp
Excellent food and great people. Cheerful and helpful We will come back again when we drive through town

Michael B.

Yelp
If at all possible to give a company a negative star this one would get at least -10, they not only have shot service, they also treat there office employees like shit! They let there employees go meaning fire them for no reason at all!! IE one employee was sick for 3 days and even brought in a doctors note and was still let go! The work place is incredibly toxic and back stabbing!!! The cafe as well has poor service and worst coffee in all of Sandy!!! As well they can't keep good help in the cafe to keep customers coming back!!! Hopefully this will help out to customers before they walk in the cafe door as well to apply for a job at the main office!!

Nina H.

Yelp
The food is so fresh and tasty. I have not had anything I haven't loved. If your looking for quality and a comfortable atmosphere this is the place for you. My granddaughter loves this place and she feels very uncomfortable around people.

Susie R.

Yelp
The staff is very nice. The business has a great mission to help people and the community. The granola and yogurt was yummy. The breakfast sandwich with meat and biscuit was very yummy, too. The biscuit was soooo good that I needed to buy a side order of one.

Becky S.

Yelp
Always good food & they do amazing things for the community. Love the muffins and hemp milk lattes.

Megan L.

Yelp
Great food and such a great resource for families in the surrounding community. A ++++++

Amber S.

Yelp
Understaffed. They try the best they can to supply community with services. It's gone a long ways since opening

Alan L.

Yelp
We were passing through Sandy coming from Central Oregon on a planned trip to the Portland area. I anticipated eating lunch at the AntFram Cafe. I read there menu with the thought of trying something different to eat. I went for the Chicken salad on a baguette. The chicken salad had golden raisins and almonds incorporated into the salad. The baguette was made in house. Soft and fresh. It was a nice size sandwhich and tasted delicious. Comes with potato chips that were good too. My wife had the Veggie wrap that was very large and very tasty. Ditto on the potato chips. Glad to have found this hidden gem of Sandy. This will be our go to place for breakfast or lunch.

Julia B.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries. The staff is super friendly, and the person doing the sides has amazing fork folding skills. Fun educational stuff for kids.

Rachelle F.

Yelp
I had a grilled cheese sandwich & tomato soup. Amazing! It met my comfort food expectations & exceeded my hopes for deliciousness. Chatting with people it seems they come from all around for the quality & love that goes into the food. I'll be back!

Brent M.

Yelp
I came here on the way to Mount Hood and stopped for breakfast. I got the lox and an onion bagel. The lox was perfectly delicious and tasted very fresh. It went perfectly with the tomatoes and capers, and there was plenty of food too - they did NOT skimp on quantity. I got an espresso, and they had oat milk to put in it as well. I would definitely come here again!

Savannah M.

Yelp
No other place in sandy has a cleaner restaurant space and fresher food. Good place with a clean feel

R R.

Yelp
Open on Sunday morning! Really good breakfast bowl and latte. Great combination of ingredients done just right. Good-sized portions. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Easy off-street and on-street parking (granted, it was early on a Sunday morning).

P S.

Yelp
Great clean creative food m Unbelievable pricing. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, bagel with lox, and the sweet potato fries are amazing. Soup's all made from scratch with high quality ingredients not to mention they are supporting a wonderful cause.

Mandy W.

Yelp
Yummy scones and coffee. I like the mission of the place. Affordable and the art was nice to look at while we waited for food.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Ok I love the purpose and the mission behind this place. I stopped today because I wanted to check it out and I saw some pictures that made me want to eat. I know it's a non profit... but prices were a tadd higher than I would've expected. I wanted to try a few things but I was somewhat turned off. The service was just ok and took awhile before help was offered. I finally flagged someone down. I ended up only getting a day old lemon poppyseed muffin... day old one muffin was $2... hmmm go to tollgate and get fresh for $1.50 and bigger portion. Opened it and it didn't taste that great... booo.... I saw good going to tables and it looked fresh and good, I just was a bit turned off already. The location could've been a bit cleaner. The restroom was very clean though so that's good! I may or may not come back to try the food... but honestly it would only be because of the mission.

Bridgette M.

Yelp
Unfortunately the coffee quality was a huge miss here. I ordered 4 different drinks. When the barista called out my order, none of the drinks had been marked. So at this point, not even she knew which one had whole milk, oat milk, decaf, etc. When I asked her which one is which she gave me a look like I don't know and not my problem. Then two of those drinks were not even 16.oz as bought and paid for. Nowhere near to filled even half way. They then tried to make up for the super bad mistake and gave us two extra drinks and those were just so not pumpkin spice latte drinks at all. Just experiences like this don't make you want to support local businesses. I would say skip the coffee here because if you mess up all four drinks and charge us $16.00 for super bad coffee and replace that with worse tasting coffee....definitely no go.

Andrew F.

Yelp
First and foremost, I found on the internet that the pricing of all products to be 2 to 4 dollars less than other food service cafes in Sandy. When I got there, I was pleased to find many different sized sitting arrangements (heights and girths of stools, and chairs as well as the tables with which they were paired.) Then the breakfast I ordered came with a healthy portion of 2 eggs, country style fried potatoes, and slice of ham, two 2 slices of rye toast with cup of berry jam, as well as the orange wedge garnish. The food was delicious, service was quick, and friendly from ordering to ringing food to my table. All around great experience. Oh yah, they brought me a cup of hot water free of charge for my Chai tea bag I brought into the establishment.

Jan E.

Yelp
Enjoyed a pastry/coffee this a.m. What a great ambiance with decor and local artisan paintings/art. Food was great. What made the experience "off the charts" was reading the AntHill mission and background and their contribution to the community! Coming back soon!

Ellen N.

Yelp
Great breakfast and the best cappuccino since I was in France.

Shelby Lee F.

Yelp
Amazing menu. People. Drinks / coffee. Food. Ambiance is perfect. Great place for kids or a quiet place to talk. Would and will drive a considerable distance to eat here again!

Eric A.

Yelp
We were kind of underwhelmed. We stopped by on a weekend morning for coffee and some breakfast. The first trip back to the counter was for new coffee. A macchiato here is actually a caramel vanilla latte, which was surprising. The barista was confused about it until I explained that I thought it would be... more like a macchiato, I guess. She was very nice and swapped it out for an americano. When we got our food there was no silverware, so we went back for that. And then there was no butter for the waffle or jam for the toast, so we went back for that too. The belgian waffle was just a generic waffle. The maple syrup + whipped cream upgrade was missing the whipped cream, but at that point I was tired of complaining and just ate it. The food wasn't bad, there were just several things missed along the way, and overall resulted in a pretty mediocre experience. The pastries were EXCELLENT, by the way. So stop for coffee and a pastry to go, certainly.
