As a current resident at Anthem on Ashley for the past four months, I've experienced a mix of positives and negatives during my stay.
Let's address the cons first. One major drawback is the consistently high water bill, exceeding $150 since moving in. In comparison, our previous townhome never cost us more than $100. The spike in the water bill following the pool refill raises concerns about potential inefficiencies. Moreover, the frequent breakdowns of both elevators, occurring five times in July alone, have been highly inconvenient and disruptive.
Another disappointment is the lack of proper maintenance. The stairwells are often dirty, and the pool doesn't receive the attention it deserves, resulting in subpar conditions. Additionally, the office staff's constant turnover has led to inconsistencies in communication and service. While the ongoing renovation of the common area seemed promising, it has only resulted in the addition of patio furniture, leaving much to be desired.
Moreover, while living here there is a lack of functioning EV chargers. Many non-EV cars choose to park in these spaces, causing an inconvenience to those who need to charge. Out of approximately six EV chargers available, only two are operational, making it frustrating for residents who rely on them.
On the other hand, there are some positive aspects of living at Anthem on Ashley. The units are reasonably priced and spacious, offering excellent value for the money. The community's proximity to the park and beltline adds a touch of convenience and outdoor enjoyment. The occasional community pool parties are a fun way to connect with neighbors, although I wish they were announced with more notice to ensure everyone can participate.
In summary, my experience at Anthem on Ashley has had its ups and downs. While I appreciate certain aspects like the unit size, price, and location, I can't overlook the consistent water bill issues, elevator problems, lack of proper maintenance, and the frustratingly limited availability of functional EV chargers. The revolving door of office staff also creates a sense of instability. Overall, there is room for improvement in several areas to enhance the living experience for all residents.
