11 Family-Friendly Restaurants in Miami and Fort Lauderdale | Eater

"When owner Anthony Bruno moved to Florida, he missed authentic New York-style pizza so much that he decided to make his own. Now, years later, the chain has spread across the Sunshine State and beyond. This spot is known for its cheesy pies, from the most traditional square margherita to modern takes like white pizza and meaty pies decked with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. Round out your meal with wings, a salad, a New York Style cheesecake and a round of Cokes." - Vox Creative

I have been coming to Anthony’s for years now! I always come and get either the traditional chicken wings or the fresh and delicious tuna salad. If you have never had the tuna salad! Try it you will not regret it and you will be back for it! The pizza is good but am her for the wings with the caramelized onions. We did share some meatballs. Service was great and the place is nice.

Google
Great place we found while in the area. The pizza was amazing. Coal fired pizza is sometimes a huge let down but this pizza was not one of those! The garlic knots hit the spot and the toppings on the pizza executed perfectly. Wings had a great flavor but the bread served with it fell flat compared to everything else. I will be going back again!

Google
What a yummy find! We unexpectedly stopped by for pizza and were amazed with the very fast service. We started with the Roasted Chicken Wings, BBQ flavor, which were yummy. Then ordered a Paulie’s Pie. Be careful, the peppers 🌶️ are spicy but, oh, so good! A must try if you’re in the area!

Pizza was so good, we couldn’t wait to take the picture. Meatballs sandwich was ok (8/10). Good service! Recommend!

Google
Will never return. Long time customers, but ever since new ownership this place has failed miserably. Paid over $30 for this "personal pizza" as we called it because it literally fed one person. We ordered a Large 16" Margherita with extra wet Mozzarella (didn't receive) and extra Basil, "please LOAD it with basil" was the request. Literally came with one peice of basil. Absolute crap. So long anthonys, hello Pummarola! Way better pizza at half the price.

Google
Just got a square margarita pizza delivered. It tastes like they used treated wood or some not natural yuck in the making of my pie. It is so disgusting and has a beyond sour smoke taste. Not what it should be. I hate it. Normally even poorly smoked foods is still ok. Not this. This is so beyond nasty. Putting in the trash.

Google
Anthony’s Pizza delivers strong flavor and consistent quality. The white pizza in the photo shows exactly what I tasted. The cheese covers the entire surface. It melts into a smooth layer with browned spots across the top. The crust rises along the edges with a light blister from the coal fired oven. The texture is firm with a slight chew. The bottom stays crisp. The blend of cheese gives a balanced salt level and a clean finish. The coal fired oven leaves a distinct taste on the crust. You notice a mild char and a smoky edge. The crust holds up well and does not sag. The hot honey wings stand out. The sauce gives equal heat and sweetness. The wings come out crisp on the outside and tender inside. The seasoning sticks to the wings without pooling. The staff keep the space clean and move with purpose. Food arrives on time. The experience is smooth from seating to closing the check. I plan to return for the white pizza and the wings.

Google
Excellent restaurant, amazing server (Adolfo), and the food was terrific! The garlic knots are some of the best we’ve ever had! The coal fired pizza was second to none! Legit salads 🤙 Highly recommended ❤️

Yelp
In my best Lizzo Voice..."All the rumors are TRUE" This place is bomb.com! Went on a Monday night, walked there from my AirBnB. Party of 2. Wine bottles were 50% off. Had the Anthony's Salad- added Tuna Salad based on the reviews! It was deeeeee-lish! Had 10 wings- dry rub... they were pretty good. I wish I would have tried another flavor. But they were good. The staff were attentive and nice. No wait for seating. This was enough food for 2. And we took the rest of the wine home. Yes. This place deserves all the positive reviews.

Yelp
A very busy night due to local activities but the staff was hustling and helping each other so it took a while for everything. The staff was apologetic and comped us a drink. Pizza was quite good and we'd go back again.

Yelp
This is our first day at Ft Lauderdale and staying at Aloft. We arrived at around 1pm and very hungry. this is the closest sit down restaurant so we came in immediately. The place was almost empty so we're in luck! We ordered half and half specialty pizza and the large size for a family of 4, chicken wings for appetizer and the kid's alfredo pasta. The chicken wings cane in first and we were blown away! I miss eating the coal crusted wings! I'm used to eating fried wings so this was so good I want to switch from now on.. then the pizza came, we were amazed by the speed. I'm used to waiting 30+ mins for a deep dish pizza. This one came in 10mins or less.. so hungry family approved. The mike's hot honey burrata is genius! We all loved it. The carnivori is a little overwhelming but a great flavor still. The I had one servingof the alfredo pasta and it's so flavorful as well. I highly recommend this to both local and tourists like us!

Laurie P.

Yelp
Staying at the Aloft hotel and looking for a close place to walk to ended up here and I'm so glad I did. Had the chopped salad which was delicious...so many great flavors. Also had the meatball and ricotta pie. Also delicious. Crust was the perfect thickness and cooked just right. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Took some cannolis to go.

Yelp
You can NEVER go wrong for Pizza or any food from Anthony's ! The wings are outrageously delicious and lunch specials cannot be beat. Best Pizza ever....

Yelp
I have been coming to Anthony's since I was very young, but skipped a few years recently based on my move. I'm glad to say that the quality of food and service has not changed! Delicious cheese pizza, iconic foccacia. My parents liked the wings Service was as you expect. Only downside was that the restaurant was pretty loud. Seems like they need to install insulation in their ceiling!

Yelp
Staying in Ft. Lauderdale after a cruise we saw Anthony's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Menu looked promising with many fantastic sounding pizzas available or we could make our own. We live not far from New Haven so the coal fired idea is very familiar to us. We ended up ordering the meatball and ricotta pizza with a combo 10 wing as an addition. Buffalo and original were our flavors. The wings interestingly enough were served with focaccia bread. Each flavor was packed separately which was nice (wife can't do spicy). The buffalo was unfortunately super salty. The original was a bit bland. The pizza however was delicious. We got a 12" and it was perfect for two people. I had to take. Star away due to their online delivery was down and I had to walk 1.25 miles to pick it up. Give them a try. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Walked in and it took a few minutes for them to seat us. They had a huge party that had just left and were short staffed so we understood. We were greeted by Kaziah and she was really friendly and helpful. We ordered the garlic knots and they were so amazing! Gooey and buttery! We also were impressed by our pizza which was crispy and delicious. We would highly recommend! Service was amazing, food was great and the ambiance was very nice!
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at how good this pizza was. It was the closest thing to our hotel and we were looking for a quick dinner before we board a cruise tomorrow. It's casual and full of families/people I'm assuming we're getting on cruises the next day. We were seated immediately and our waiter was QUICK - like food came out immediately quick. We shared a salad which was just standard and a pizza with Italian sausage and onions and YUM. The crust is crunchy and thin, but not too thin. Loved the heavier tomato base. I'd 100% recommend and come back again - perfect lunch or dinner spot if you're staying near airport or cruise port!

Yelp
After years of swearing I would never return to this location, I did due to terrible rain and avoiding the location in Ft Lauderdale. Walked in and it was quiet which was no surprise because it was pouring!!! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the cauliflower pizza, long peppers, garlic rolls and salad. The cauliflower was an epic fail. I don't know if it was too much bread crumbs which I didn't even know they added that to it, it was dry and chewy. Points for service. Definitely will never be back.

Yelp
You know I'm gonna find the pizza lol; and i found the pizza. Wood and coal fire is always on the menu for me and this place delivered fine. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it's also far from the worst. It could use a little more sauce, but all in all the execution was solid otherwise. I got a specialty pie, "Paulie's Pie", and a 1/2 and 1/2 plain cheese and meatball. Sauce deficit aside it was well made. I also got the garlic knots which were top tier and humongous (which is hard to do, usually the bigger the knot the less flavor they have inside), and the spinach and artichoke dip which was also very good. The lemonade was SUPERRRRRRR SWEET, but I'm not soft so it was fine lol. If you have any sugar sensitivity be forewarned it's not for you. Parking is very very minimal, one small tight lot so you may have to spin the block a few times but it's worth it. Will definitely be back again

Yelp
The pizza is delicious I really like the seating outside The customer service was amazing and attentive The chicken wings are really good but not spicy
google avatar

Tori G.

Yelp
I got this place on Uber Eats and omg obsessed. I had the pepperoni hot honey pizza and garlic bread and they were both amazing. the cheese on the pizza was literally bomb - wish i had a chance to try more here while in town!

Louis D.

Yelp
Gave me the wrong to go order. When I called to ask to get assistance I was put on hold for 10 minutes. No one called me back or cared to fix my issue. Got charged $50 for something I didn't order or want.

Jean J.

Yelp
Very close to the Crown Plaza Hotel. We walked to dinner from hotel. Danielle was our waitress she was GREAT! Friendly, spot on , kept tea glasses full good upselling skills and professional. Ask for her mgr to tell him she needed a raise and he was very prompt to come over to table and very nice Food was ok some of our primal wings were burnt on one side But very meaty and the garlic Romano wings are good My husbands fettuccini was very good he loved the amount of artichokes given !! Keep up the good work
google avatar

Sam F.

Yelp
We ate here twice because our hotel was walking distance away. The food was ok. The pizza was alright not the best I've ever had. The meatball sub was not very good, dry and not on a sub more like pita bread. The fettuccine Alfredo was good and the meatball appetizer was yummy. The outdoor area was really noisy but otherwise it was just ok. Service was ok
google avatar

Brandy L.

Yelp
This place came highly recommend from our hotel. I'm glad we listened. We had the wings, pizza and Caprese Salad... ALL were DELICIOUS!!
google avatar

Keli H.

Yelp
Cute little place with extensive menu. Spinach artichoke dip appetizer is fabulous, very rich and creamy. I don't even like spinach artichoke dip and had several bites. The thin crust was a great vehicle for the proscuitto and burrata pizza topped with a bit of basil, balsamic and Mike's Hot Honey. Friendly service even if a bit slow.
google avatar

Yankiel M.

Yelp
Julie was an amazing server, refilled every drink and explained the menu as well as told us about the rewards program and even served us the first slice of pizza on our plate and the pizza was also made and served quick and also Carlos the GM come to greet us and had a friendly conversation with us, I always drove by here for many years and finally stoped by and I am glad because me and friends will be coming in a lot more often now.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
If you like soggy pizza this is the place- for $60 it can be yours. No need for napkins because they don't give them. Let the pizza drip all over you and when it comes time for that cheese cake better grab your own fork too! Save your money- and go for Pizza Hut.
google avatar

Camryn H.

Yelp
Gluten free/ GF pizza was amazing! Got the margherita & it was delicious, one of the better GF crusts I have had. Environment is great as well, sat outside. Only thing is that the service was pretty slow. Not a bad experience at all though, the weather was nice so we didn't mind sitting outside while waiting for server. I would still recommend this place for a gluten free pizza in Ft. Lauderdale! The person I was with also ordered (on a normal crust) the burrata & hot honey pizza, which they liked!
google avatar

Michel G.

Yelp
Had lunch stromboli. Service very efficient. Stromboli burned at bottom. Filling lacking . Left me hungry. Pasta fagiol soup to acidity. Will not get back.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza was outstanding! We would definitely come here again. Enjoyed eating on the patio. The service was excellent and pizza came out quickly. Our server Danielle was super nice and had no problem accommodating our young one. Great meal 10/10!
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
First time here, pizza was delicious and cooked perfectly the way we like it, server was friendly and nice atmosphere. Definitely will be back & added to my regular pizza place.
google avatar

Yelp
Anthony's has a great Happy Hour deal with discounted drinks and $5 wings and $4 meatballs. The food is great for the price and the service and ambiance is casual and attentive. We also enjoyed the tiramisu and cheesecake which were delicious. The Italian sangria and wine are also must try's! Happy Hour is from 3p-6p during the week days.

Yelp
Visiting Ft Lauderdale while going on a cruise, I wanted to find a good pizza spot. Anthony's was the perfect find! I love thin crust and their crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings were delicious! They have a hot honey they can spread over top (which I got on the side not knowing if I would like it) and it is a MUST have!!! Had the garlic knots and the wings too! So so good! And not far from the airport! I will definitely be back to Anthony's next time I'm in Ft Lauderdale!

Gilda R.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and caesar salad! Topping selection is very good also. Loved the patio too. All for a reasonable price.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Anthony's Coal Fire. This location is spectacular. Amazing service and great ambiance. The food here is always bomb no matter what the location is. The wings the wings the wings. Man I love the wings. The oven bakes wings with the onions are my favorite. I like my coal fire pizza with everything. The works is my favorite. Plenty of parking at this location. Plenty of seating for large families. I recommend always eating in when dining at Anthony's Coal Fire. The delivery pizza isn't the same.

Yelp
"Used-to-bes don't count anymore. They just lay on the floor 'til we sweep them away.", Neil Diamond I came in today for lunch and I will never return. This is the original location opened by restaurateur, Anthony Bruno, over twenty years ago, and today it's evident that the place will NEVER return to its glory days. I walked in and asked for a table for one and was directed to sit at the empty bar. The waitstaff was attentive and I immediately placed my order. Within ten minutes I received the circular slab of what appeared to be pre-made or pre-flattened cardboard-like dough, with lousy-smelling onions, tasteless ground sausage, and a tomato sauce that I only could've wished was at least as good as Heinz Ketchup. This pizza sucked, and the prices are ridiculous.

Yelp
Update 10/14/24 I recently ordered from Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza (ACFP) for delivery through their website, with service provided by DoorDash. The delivery was impressively quick, and the driver was friendly, but the $6 delivery fee--before tip--felt steep. Unfortunately, the quality of the order didn't match the speed of delivery. I ordered the garlic wings, specifying that I wanted them "wet and well done." What I received was the opposite: the wings were undercooked, dry, and slimy. They were so unappetizing that I had to throw them out, which was disappointing since I usually enjoy their wings. Additionally, I ordered a large salad and asked for extra dressing, but I only received a single small container. It felt like whoever packed the order wasn't paying attention to the details. While the rest of the order was correct and tasted fine, the lack of care in preparing my wings and handling my requests left a sour taste. If you're looking for a more reliable experience when it comes to specific requests--like well-done pizza or extra items--I'd recommend either picking up your order or dining in. While ACFP typically does a good job with deliveries, this experience wasn't up to par. I'd have picked up the order myself if I could, but delivery was my only option this time.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
I guess that was a one-off bad experience. Started going back and found it much better. Also they make great strombolis.
google avatar

Corinne S.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner during an overnight stay in Ft. Lauderdale prior to a cruise. Very pleased with both the food and service! We tried both pizza and stromboli - both were absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Nice, casual atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped in again on our way home/another stop over after the cruise. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
This pizza is still my favorite, fresh ingredient, cooked perfectly!! since it was sold I think they've gone to cheaper cheese maybe, somethings changed, so 4 instead of formerly 5 stars. Still better than anywhere else in Ft Laud. they have a loyalty program that takes the edge off the price.
google avatar

Amanda Y.

Yelp
I ordered a 9 oz " House Cabernet " They changed us $18 dollars for it ! She said they don't have " House " Cabinet without telling us first ! She said if she tell people the "house Cabernet" costs $18.00, people might think she is looking down on them thinking they can't afford it.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I had kind of a complicated order as I was using a birthday coupon and a registration reward. The girl who took my order over the phone was super patient and made sure to get my order right. Mt husband had the Paulie which was INCREDIBLE!! My pizza was gluten free crust w no cheese, chicken, sweet peppers and onions. I couldn't believe how great the chicken quality was!! Never had this good of quality at a pizza place. Also the gluten free crust was super crunch and didn't have that floppy or fall apart texture like most gluten free crust. Normally I'm a blaze pizza girl but I'm soo happy to have discovered Anthony's gluten free! And the chicken is a million times better than blaze! So if you're looking for "healthier" pizza or just plain delicious pizza w ricotta, sausages, etc, Anthony's is the place!! We got it to go and it was still hot when we Got home.
google avatar

Ken S.

Yelp
This is hands down the best pizza i have ever eaten. Great service, salad was great. I think about this pizza all the time
google avatar

Fayee T.

Yelp
Always 5 stars pizza place ! So far I few different of their locations and looks they all maintain a great high standard and quality salad, wings and pizza! ( I didn't try other items on their menu) also the cannolis are very tasty and so far every time we ordered they seems freshly prepared Will be back Recommended
google avatar

Christa B.

Yelp
I always enjoy going to Anthony's but this location is horrible & can give the company a bad reputation. Our pizza was burnt & beyond dried out. I questioned the waitress & she didn't seem to see anything wrong. I asked for the manager. Thinking he would see this pizza was not appealing by any means. The Manager, Brandon, quickly caught an attitude

Yelp
We're in town to catch a cruise on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas and we knew we Had to try Anthony's! In a word , WOW !!! When we researched the restaurant on yelp it looked fantastic and boy, did it not disappoint! We got the 16 in 1/2 and 1/2 Carnivori's and Pauli's pie . The crust is chewy and thin with the perfect char you would expect from this kind of oven . The sauce, a puréed perfection of Italian plum tomatoes and Italian herbs to go with some of the best meat toppings I've ever had ( considering I'm a chef by trade ) and plenty of them too . Our server was a very pleasant young man named guy who was well informed and answered all our question and even offered custom suggestions to take our experience to the next level. Adding fresh garlic to our pizza was one of them and man oh man was he ever right . I'll get it this way from now on !! If you're in town you have to have to have to eat at Anthony's! I know we will EVERY TIME we are back here from now on !! Please don't go anywhere guys because I don't want to have to explain that to my wife !!
google avatar

Sexy T.

Yelp
Found this gem a couple blocks from the hotel. The coal fired pizza was perfect, the crust had just a hint of char which added to the flavor. The atmosphere was great, the servers and bartenders were friendly and always there when the beer was almost empty. Don't pass up this place!
google avatar

Jarrad G.

Yelp
What happened? I haven't ordered from here in 3-4 years, but seriously.....what happened????Pizza was so chewy I think my jaw will be sore tomorrow morning. Meatballs tasted like chef boyardee's. Sauce was watery. Wings tasted the same, still decent. This is not the same food (pizza, meatballs, or sauce) that I enjoyed for so many years at Anthony's.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
I only started eating food here because my job is around the corner and we have food catered occasionally. I was recently craving their meatball ricotta pizza and was unfortunately unable to order because I was stuck at work but I signed up for their rewards program. That was a good idea because you receive a free 12" pizza when you join. I remembered this week that I didn't use the reward and it was expiring so I made the effort to order. I placed my order online for my free pizza, along with garlic knots and focaccia bread. I was asked the make, model, and color of my car so I could have curbside pickup. The order said 20 minutes. I got caught up at work so I left a little later and there was an accident blocking US1 so it look more like 25 minutes for me to get there. There were no signs for curbside pickup and that parking lot is a disaster. Mostly because the people parking there are not the sharpest. Since the parking lot was a shit show, I thought it would be best to park and retrieve my food myself by going inside. After the woman in front of me took her time and finally completed her transaction, I provided my name, to which the staff member retrieved my food, and I was out the door. I was inside for such a short amount of time but it did look clean and smelled delicious in there! Of course trying to leave the lot was worse than trying to get in and park. The parking was the only negative aspect for me, as if you could not tell already! I would be great for an additional driveway but maybe it is not possible. I finally arrived home and scoffed down some slices with hubs. Even though we did not reheat it and it was cold, the pizza was very good. Garlic rolls from any place taste the same to me. The focaccia was not the greatest in the sense it lacked some flavor. I am surprised in myself but I really like their food. The pizza is not close to NY pizza but it is still very good and has a lot of flavor. I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant or choosing delivery as an option.

Yelp
There aren't a lot of options in the area, thankfully Anthony's is a great place to go. It's a short walk from two hotels nearby that serve mostly airport and cruise travelers, a clean restaurant with attentive servers, indoor seating and a covered patio, and bar. The bartender smiled and greeted me as I walked in and said sit wherever you like. (I chose the patio, but if street noise bothers you it's quieter inside.) I had the 12" wood fired Carnivori pizza and it was excellent. My server Lauren recommended extra cheese and it added flavor. If I lived in the area this would be my choice for takeout, but it's also not bad to drop in and sit awhile, have a drink, a bite to eat, and wait for traffic to let up. Thanks Anthony's for being there.
google avatar

Ramsey P.

Yelp
Ordered take out and pizza was ready on time right when we got there. The takeout had its own section off to the right which was nice, in and out in just a few minutes. Staff was friendly and attentive. Large inside area for seating and a few benches outside as well. Would have loved to dine in, great ambience Parking in front of the restaurant seems like it would be tough, not many spots up front and they were full when we pulled up. Luckily we were just picking up so we pulled up to the side. For the food...Let me start by saying I've eaten at Anthony's coal fire pizza (different locations) many times and it always was great. However, it did not hit the mark this time. Ordered a cheese pizza and it lacked the flavor and I've been accustom to. Some bites I felt like I was just eating bread. Asked for basil to be added and it looks like it was just thrown on top. Might have just been an off night for this location. Would still come back and eat inside, might have a better experience than take out.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Ordered the half and half with half hot honey and half margherita. It was delish...Greek salad was interesting with celery in it. Would recommend this pizza to anyone looking for a good thin crust pizza.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this little spot, it was right around the corner from our hotel and a nice cigar lounge. Our waitress was sweet and very knowledgeable when it came to their menu. We had the meatballs w/ garlic knots, it sounds like something so small, but was filling and delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, ladies night, or for a small get together.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
This place has hardly any parking. But we got here about half an hour before they close so we have no issue with that. Normally though, it is next to impossible to get a spot. Okay onto the food. To start, I ordered an American icon Haze. This is an IPA and it is great! It was my first time hearing of it. It was delicious and a great way to start my experience here. I also ended up getting the Floridian Top Gun beer towards the end of the meal. This one was just okay. I don't think it has enough flavor for my liking. I have eaten that Anthony's many times but only at this location a couple of times. The restaurant is very clean and they have a nice and bright to ho area. Jacqlyn was our server. She was very cheery considering it was going to be a late night. She bought us everything we needed and was great. We ordered just a large pizza. I had eaten a big lunch. I wasn't hungry but of course, I cannot resist Pizza! There was lots of sauce on the pizza which I love. The cheese is very high quality. Their salads and wings are great too. We were just not that hungry to order them this time. You can also sit outside and watch the cars go by on Federal Highway. Lol

Yelp
This is excellent food and service. The ambiance is of a local New York pizza shop. We had a green salad that was very fresh with just olive oil and red wine vinegar and a small meat pizza. The location is just around the corner from the Crown Plaza Hotel.
