Anthony's Restaurant and Pub

I got their house special burger with fries and a slice of cheesecake. The bartender saw that I didn't get much fries and got me an extra half or ¼ order for free to make up for it. Really great service. The burger was really good, and the cheesecake was awesome. The cheesecake was a bit pricey ($8) but the rest of the menu is reasonably priced so you won't be breaking the bank by getting it. I'll definitely be coming by again. The only gripe I have is I could taste alcohol in my diet coke. Maybe the glasses aren't cleaned thoroughly enough. Not a huge deal but I don't drink so it was definitely an unpleasant surprise.

On 8/3/2025 I had dinner with friends and family, upon entering the restaurant we were seated quickly. The service came to the table and asked us what we were drinking, we put in drink orders and 10 minutes later the waitress asked if we wanted any appetizers clearly forgetting our drink orders. We order our meals and asked for certain items off ( mushrooms, onions etc…..) upon the arrival of the dinner the items that we asked to be removed were on our dinners. I don’t understand why service was slow? The establishment didn’t look busy besides the bar area and the patio. For the record the food was good and I am not mad or angry at anything but 2 hours and thirty minutes for a party of 7 for burgers and chicken shouldn’t take that long.

Went here for dinner with my parents on a Sunday evening. The staff was friendly and we were able to get seated right away. Our server checked up on us often and made good recommendations for food and drinks. My mom got the Chopped Salad, my Dad got the baked Mostaccioli, and I got the steak sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portions of food were decent size especially for the price. For a sandwich or burger expect to spend about $15-$20. Entrees a bit more, $20-$25. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Also there were a lot of TV's around so it was a great place to watch sports. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to others.

My first time here. Very nice inside. My food was ready when I arrived. Food is photo perfect. Everything tasted good. Sandwich was tasty. Fries had great flavor. The wings where crisp and delicious. Can’t think of one complaint. Even gave napkin’s and condiments with out having to ask for it. I highly recommend.

We all enjoyed the food, especially the frys. Not sure if it was an event but it was a Thursday night and featured college basketball and a reality show which was out on the speakers at a loud volume. The show was entertaining but entirely too loud, we asked for it to be turned down and it was a little but conversation was difficult. Overall I would come here again, food and drinks met expectations, service was good.

Sat for over an hour for a pizza, table behind me ordered their pizza after us, they got their pizza and ate it, still no pizza. Supposedly they lost my ticket, realized it but never said anything. Took my pizza to go. They offered me a piece of cake for the poor service. Hmmmm where is the manager to apologize. Guess this is why I never came here before….I left the cake!

Friday night and the vibe was as flat as a pancake. The staff huddled at side tables, looking like they were on a break from life itself. Where do I even begin? The atmosphere was a dismal kind of dead. I wanted to bolt, but my companions made that tricky. So, I plopped down and ordered some appetizers. Only one showed up, and for some bizarre reason, the second never made an appearance. They didn’t charge me, and honestly, I was relieved after seeing what they served. Then came the Fish and Chips—now, we all know what that should entail, right? Four sad pieces of fish on a bed of shredded lettuce? No chips or fries in sight! I asked about the missing fries, and she finally brought them out, but guess what? I got charged for those “chips” on the receipt. Seriously? Fish and Chips? And while she was at it, she managed to spill salsa all over my jacket. She noticed and casually asked if I wanted a napkin. Oh sure, let’s just leave the salsa party on my jacket! Everyone’s meals were a disaster—tiny portions and way overpriced. After today’s experience, I wouldn’t return even if they offered free food. Looking at the low ratings, I should’ve trusted the reviews and stayed away. Lesson learned. I just wanted to share the receipt because if you looked at it, you’d think we left stuffed and happy. Not even close!

Boring sports bar in Joliet, with the usual okay drinks and fried foods. It gets busy, but it's more because of the games on TV, and having a place to watch these than anything here you can get. Anthony's is considered a sports bar. Obviously they have a crap ton of memorabilia. The menu is pretty expected and filled with classic greasy fried things. A pretty average looking place to be honest. It's almost as if this building used to be a chain like Applebee's or something. There's not a lot of charm, just loud TVs and yelling. Only a bit busy coming in. We were able to find bar seats. Has lots of great specials going on. It's $5.50 to get Jameson on Saturdays. As for the food menu it's pretty meaty. It's $11 for Hot Soft Pretzels. A lot of the rest of it is stuff like burgers. There's also pastas and pizzas. Seems like everything gets meat on it. The other stuff is pretty greasy as we saw on the other plates. For sure it's a great place for watching sports and other types of games. It's located by the Louis Joliet Mall so you can eat here after you go there. The area as far as restaurants is sucking and this is one of the better options for family, friends, or for whoever.

We were getting lunch here before a doctor appointment and found this on the map. Pleased to find a nice, spacious bar and grill. We got seated in a booth right away. I am mad at myself for forgetting our female server's name but we were served on Dec 17 around noon. She was a great server. Brother ordered mozzarella sticks which came out right away and were very tasty, served in a cute little cone server. Mother got four sliders off the appetizer menu although it was way too much food. We tried to order the kids portion of sliders but the server told us the restaurant would not allow adults to order kids menu items as their meal. The two sliders went to waste unfortunately. I got the grilled fish tacos but was a bit underwhelmed with the thinness of the fish. A bit rubbery. I ate one whole taco and tried to eat the filling out of the rest. My brother enjoyed his meal which was the Anthony's Favorite Gyros. I would come back again if I was in the area as the service was friendly and they had a very good selection.

Wow o the food is real good the service is very friendly you can come here to play pool grab a drink in the huge bar the restrooms are very clean come Eat Pasta tacos pizza tons of fun

Sliders were excellent. Outdoor patio a big plus. While the views are of the Louis Joliet Mall, good to be outside all the same. Staff is excellent.

I see all the bad reviews and I don't understand why everyone else had such a bad time. I stayed in Joilet for a week and I came to this place multiple times. Each time was pleasant. I wish they had a bigger parking lot because it is always crowded and hard to find a spot. There are a ton of giant TVs every where to watch sports. This place has a limited drink cocktail list. They have specials every day. I got to try Sunday's half off appetizers, Monday's $5 gyros, and Thursday's $5 burgers. I ate nachos, gyros, burgers, and a cubano sandwich. What they lack in taste they make up in quantity. The taste is not bad. The food actually tastes good just not the best.

I ate here and loved it. We didn't have to wait to be seated. The place was clean. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. The waitress was super friendly and knew the menu well. It didnt cost as much as I thought it would be. And the food was very good. We only waited maybe 10-12 minutes for all four meals to come out. I was impressed. I'll def be going back!

July 26 2022 Anthony's lives up to their reputation, never had a good meal from this chum bucket of a place. Asked for a medium cheeseburger, ended up getting introduced the Red Sea instead.

Don't waste your time here unless you want hair in your food and nothing but grease. 10/10 do not recommend.

Got kicked out for using a "Fake ID" 3 days after turning 21... My buddy was with me who also turned 21 this month, our ID's were thrown back onto the table at us in a rude manner. the owner came up to us in a rude manner requesting our ID's as soon as we walked up to the bar. Before being asked to leave he threatened to call the cops and was creating a sort of scene. Would not recommend this bar to anybody, and I would hope the owner treats customers in a more friendly manner going forward. ** *** No matter what this place says below, our ID's were real, and it's very concerning the establishment wouldn't at least apologize. Instead, they responded to my google review continuing to say that we were using Fake ID's. It would have been humorous to see the staff members face if the police had indeed verified our ID's, had we stayed and pressed the situation. I wouldn't recommend any person to spend a dime at this establishment.

Worst steak tacos ever. Dried up, barely any meat at all. The waitress asked how I wanted the steak and I said medium. Did she hear "well done" because I could barely eat them. I truly think I was served scraps from the bottom of a pan that had been sitting there for 2 days.

It was a cool place and they could accommodate a large party. The waitress was very nice but forgot many items that were ordered. Half the people really enjoyed their food and half did not.

We sat outside and I felt bad for our waitress because she had to take care of like 6 to 7 tables. Our food was good of course.

They ALWAYS close wayyy to early !!! before the time they say theyre closing ! it sucks because sometimes people get stuck outside in line and they still get charged the entrance even though theyll ONLY get 10 min in the bar and they get kicked out at 1am when they close at 2am

Stopped here for a family lunch and ordered the nachos. First, I noticed the lack of social distancing in a place that had plenty of seating. I took a photo as an example. Next, the food I ordered. It can be summarized in one word, Yuck! The dish looked better than it tasted. There was a small hand full of chopped chicken, 2 scoops of guacamole, 5 sliced jalapeños, pico de gallo that was tasteless, chips, shredded cheese and what tasted like melted Velveta cheese on top. It tasted horrible. My husband ordered salsa to help this awful dish and nothing helped. In my opinion, Taco Bell nachos are better - which doesn't say much. The server never asked how the food tasted. Maybe she already knew it was awful. I returned the nasty nachos, and volunteered my opinion. She kindly took it off the tab. Nope, I won't be back.

Service was terrible. Our server MYRA was absolutely terrible. Very slow couldn't handle a 8top table to herself when the restaurant wasn't busy. Took a long time to get refills and drinks its self. Forgot one of our food orders said she would discount it off our tab, never did. After making someone wait a whole hour with no food you would think it was on the house. Nope. Paying our tabs they include a 20% gratuity which is ridiculous she did not deserve 20% with the service she provided. Don't waste your money go elsewhere where there is better service. Not to mention took her over 20 minutes to figure out our bill and to even get our debit card back.

Stopped here for a family lunch. I ordered the fish tacos. Presentation was good food was fresh but unfortunately the fish tasted bland not enough seasoning for me. I ordered a side of salsa to help me out a bit.

Cool! I'm finally able to post my review. I visited this place a couple weeks back and wasn't able to post my review because of negative press on this location. I came here on a Saturday evening wanting to hang out and check out the UFC fight they were hosting. This place definitely was unique. It was clean! Even the bathrooms. Outdoor sections were amazing. Even has a smoking section so you don't need to leave the restaurant. The food menu was great! I loved their selections! The waitress was friendly and accommodating especially since it lacked some food items off the menu. Many positives about this place. The negatives seem to come from the night life area which I haven't seen but I will note my negatives about this place is that the prices are pretty high. Parking does suck getting in so you may have to park in the mall and make a bit of a walk.

Very bad experience. They make things up and will ban you for no reason. Security will threaten to assault you and try to get a reaction out of you in front of the police. The food is bad. The owner is bad. They don't like poc. The staff is unfriendly and unprofessional especially the security. Go look at other comments and they will say worse things or about the same as mine. You can tell most of the 5 stars reviews are fake. People still come here because it's the only place to go. Most the people that go are all stuck in high school and act like children. Very toxic establishment. You're better off spending your money at one of the smaller bars in the area.

Music is so incredibly loud. It's all from 2005, too, which is fine if it's throwback night or something, but I don't think it was. We came here to eat after visiting a haunted house in the area. We couldn't find a place with sit-down service which is how we ended up at Anthony's. The food is worse than the microwaveable burgers you can get from a vending machine. Chicken tenders are tough. "Loaded" tater tots barely have anything on them. It's funny that we paid $5 to come in considering it was an awful experience. We should've gone through the McDonald's drive-thru instead...

Michelle was our server for the Sunday football game. She was excellent, kept the drinks and food coming. Very nice with customers.

I have always been a loyal customer to Anthonys me and my family are in this restaurant every Thursday faithfully today me and a colleague had lunch I ordered wings the price for wings use to be .50 cent on Thursday now the price is $1.00 per wing which is not a problem if your getting quality food long story short I got a half eaten wing that I never ate which I was charged a $1.00 for asked to speak to the manager he was very unprofessional and rude he told me he was not taking the wing off my bill nor offer to replace it then told me I was going to pay for that wing instead of him using common sense he chose the ignorant route due to Unprofessionalism with management Anthony's will no longer receive business from me or my Family and colleagues you guys got to do better you never know who's sitting in your establishments

HALLOWEEN HAS A DRESS CODE!? This place a damn joke! Came in with a group of friends and 1 Black friend. We weren't dressed in costumes but my friend had on jogger looking pants. We didn't think it looked bad at all we were all dressed up nice. Well unfortunately black friend got kicked out, because of his pants, lol while others we saw others wearing practically nothing or wearing tights and bouncer stated it's their costume attire for Halloween lol we were Just shocked!!! So because we pointed out every single person there on what they were wearing trying to compare bouncer put his hands on my brother and said we allllll can leave. My brother was just so mad at that fact, and started talking crap to that bouncer calling him a racist for 1 kicking our friend out for no reason, and putting his hands in him we left and 3 bouncers came following my brother to the parking lot trying to fight him threatening to put him in county!!! WHAT!!!??? We left! And never will I step a foot in the trashy , ghetto racist place! Who puts a dress code at a restaurant?? this place is already trashy and not classy. How dare you people. I will let everyone know about this nasty restaurant. I'm surprised this place isn't shut down, I will make sure of it. Please read other reviews.

DONT COME HERE. I came here while visiting family and the staff had terrible attitude and my food was very cold I asked the waiter if they can heat it up and they laughed in my face and when they came back to hand me my "warm" food the slammed it on the table. Also it's not the cleanest place.

Everything is usually okay but the DJ is clearly vibing to his own music, everyone is standing over and it's just one genre of EDM or his rock song and we requested music and asked other servers and they did as well.... The DJ is literally the only person dancing, he is not the one for y'all because everyone wants to leave because of him. And is rude to requests. Even the servers are not into it..... better music would've had people dancing and spending more money, do better.

Love this place, I go here a lot with friends and family. The owner lets us in all the time for free because we come here so much. The bald bouncer that resembles Dwayne Johnson is always a problem, he yells at people and takes his job too seriously, there is no reason to try and fight the people that spend money here

Decided to come here post wedding celebration. Party of 6, WEARING FORMAL WEAR, and we got denied because of ONE federal government identification that happened to be in the form of a passport. Here's the kicker: said person above was able to get in a week prior, using the same exact passport except the "group" happened to be ALL FEMALE vs the male-to-female ratio to which we got denied. Definitely felt targeted and experienced extreme racism. Disappointment but honestly, not surprised considering the backlash I've heard from this place.... Ended up going to Jamesons which I 100% recommend. Jamesons, however, joined two tables for our party, and we're very attentive and we experienced phenomenal service. Would always choose Jamesons over Anthony's.

Beer was ice cold!!! Pizza was delicious. Nice and saucy with tons of cheese and pepperoni. Staff was very friendly as well.

Great menu. Had the salmon and steak salads. They were excellent. Nice bar and convenient to our hotel.

Just got back for eating at Anthony's. I was appalled! The only workers in the restaurant wearing a masks were the wait staff. Not the hostess, not the bouncer, not the random people standing around and not the owner. To top it off, they had 2 tables of at least 10 people+. I believe that restaurants should be open and allowed to have indoor seating and I try to dine at local places, but this is just pure ignorance! There are restaurants that HAVE to stay open to be able to put food on their table, but places like Anthony's that don't follow CDC guidelines hurt everyone. I can only hope the cooks and food prep workers are wearing mask, but I doubt it.

I went to Anthony's and the food was sub par. I ordered a burger medium rare and it was more medium. The was too hungry to complain. It didn't come with the sauce it was supposed to. Another person at the table ordered steak tacos and there was no cheese. The last person at the table ordered gyros and the meat was overcooked. The waitress disappeared at the end of our meal. I was very disappointed!

I have come to Anthony's several times but I will Not be back. The owner is a total PRICK and the entire staff are truly terrible. On top of that the food and drinks are mediocre at best. Save yourself the time and do not come here. New management is needed.

We went here last night around 9:50pm to eat and were turned away because they would let out 19 and 20 year old in. This place is a joke of you have kids and want to eat late don't waste your time here

Discriminatory against middle aged hispanics. Being employed in corporate sports marketing I work hard 9-5 in business suits. Tonight I was comfortable in my Adidas wear. My dining party consisted of myself and my younger 20 something cousins and their husbands. Unfortunately we were stopped at the door. I explained I was not a threat and only there to have few cocktails and enjoy the Hawks game and UFC fight, however I was still turned away. STAY AWAY this establishment is less than accommodating and friendly. Local news shows shooting occurred and yet they mistaken themselves for high end establishment. Not family friendly. Yes my friends in the industry will be made aware of this rare "gem". Hops Scotch and Vine was happy to welcome my party for the evening.

This was my first time since they expanded the outside. It was nice. It felt like u was in naperville or Chicago. They had a guy singing and playing the guitar. The food was great. The service was great. The only downer was we were by a street. Too bad we couldn't be by a river or something nice to look at. I know they at the mall, maybe put up a wall so we can't see those cars and put a picture up on it, like a river setting. :-)

I've found Anthony to be a place that I can go in the evening or late evening to enjoy the varied sounds of music, enjoy-enjoyed the food, at times I'd like to sit at table with friends, but coming alone I'll eat at the bar. With that being said,I will order some of the appetizers, which at this point I have not found one to be bad, but very tasty, I thank you for your great work! I love this place during the day! The food, the service, the atmosphere... it's amazing! They have great food and drink specials. Weekend nights they tend to get a younger more rowdy crowd than I care for and I tend to avoid the place when "going out".

Hot new biz alert! Joliet is lucky to have this fresh fab local restaurant & pub. I'd totes be a regular if I lived closer, but regardless, I'll be back. For starters, the restaurant itself is stunning. Super cool layout with features like a center bar, tons of flat screen TVs, high-tops, low-tops, and an awesome semi-outdoor area with opening garage doors, more TVs, and it's own bar. Obsessed. The hubs and I stopped in for lunch. There were a couple tables of people and one side of the bar completely occupied. We opted to sit at the bar and I'm glad we did. The bartender was super nice and fun to talk to. We both ordered up a Bell's Winter Pale Ale (to cure our winter blues of course). The bartender served them up quick and with a frosted glass - that's what I'm talkin about. On to the good stuff. The food. Their menu is extensive and includes apps, salads, flat breads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, entrees, dessert - the works. There's a good variety but a lot of it centers around Mediterranean cuisine. The Greco flatbread looked intriguing so I ordered it and I'm super glad I did! It was delicious. Perfect flatbread crust with gyro meat, tatziki sauce, feta and fire roasted tomatoes. Yummy! I ate it all but 2 pieces which my husband devoured. He ordered a turkey burger and side salad which he really enjoyed. I of course nibbled on a bite of his burger and I had to agree. It was plump, juicy, and had a bomb ass pretzel bun. Anthony's is just getting started folks. So make your way there and check 'em out! Can't wait to see how they evolve and DEFINITELY can't wait to take advantage of their outdoor bar in the warmer months. Side note: They have a chocolate tower cake that includes "four gigantic layers of chocolate cake, iced and layered with a rich chocolate icing and finished with chocolate cookie crumbs". REALLY kicking myself for not getting that because it sounds like absolute heaven (damn new years resolutions!). Next time for sure...

I was here last night for my first time and I have to say that I will be back very soon! The restaurant is very spacious and this is a great place to catch any sporting event because there are plenty of TVs all throughout. I sat in the back area and I can imagine how nice it is in the summer because you have the option of sitting outside or inside the patio with the garage door Windows that go up. I loved the high ceiling with the skylight too. My boy friend and I were greeted immediately and we were told the specials. I was very happy with my cocktail choice and stuck to it the remainder of the night. I had a baileys, vodka drink that was deliciously strong. My boyfriend had beer, whiskey and a red ginger beer cocktail that he enjoyed very much. We tried the wings, flatbread, meatballs, Mac and cheese bites, crab cakes and the chopped salad. Everything was delicious! Nothing disappointed us and I was in love with the salad. Omg that salad was delicious!!! I will be back very soon to stuff my face again. Great atmosphere, good eats, strong drinks, lots of TVs.... My kind of place! Good job Anthony's. I will be making the drive from Carol Stream to hang out at your place.

My wife and I went to lunch at Anthony's on a Monday. I had the "pleasure" of frequenting Sammy's back in the day so I was FLOORED by the transformation that the new owners performed. It is literally 100% different! (which is a good thing). We were greeted by a pleasant hostess and she allowed us to sit wherever. We took seats at a high top on the mall side of the bar. The sun was pouring in and it actually made for very nice ambiance. The bar is gorgeous and you can definitely tell they dropped some money in this place. There are TV's everywhere and the new patio is unbelievable. I am really looking forward to sipping a brew or two out there with the garage doors open this summer. Hopefully the crowd they draw isn't terribly shady as it was when it was Sammy's. We ordered some wings for an appetizer (B). We tried two of the three sauces they offer, the buffalo and the spicy asian zinger (or something) Both were good. The only drawback was the sogginess. I compare all wings to Metro's and these were just drenched. I probably should have asked for sauce on the side and will from now on. My wife ordered the grilled steak tacos (three good sized tacos). B. They were good but needed a bit more flavor. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT. B. It is huge! But also needed some flavor. I can't quite put my finger on what it needed, but it was just not outstanding. I am really excited about Anthony's. The renovations, service and menu are above average and I think they should do well. I look forward to trying the many other menu items and definitely enjoying the patio in the warm weather!! First time there, and were very disappointed. We ordered pretzels for appetizer, and never got them. My husband ordered mostaccoli with meatballs, never got the meatballs. My daughter ordered the boneless wings and didn't eat them because she said they tasted like microwave. I wouldn't recommend this place.
