Anthony's is one of the best dining experiences in the DMV. The food is wonderful, fresh and hot and served by the friendliest staff ever. Also, the owner is always present to ensure that everyone has the best experience. What more can you ask?

I just visited your Falls Church location and wanted to share how much we enjoyed our meal tonight. We had the Greek souvlaki and pepperoni pizza, staples that truly live up to their reputation here and I decided to try the cauliflower crust pizza for the first time. It was fantastic, the best cauliflower pizza I’ve had in a long time. It’s rare to find one that’s flavorful and crisp, but you nailed it. Our server, Erica, was friendly and attentive throughout, and Peter, the manager, came by to make sure everything was perfect. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. Thanks for all you do! I’ll definitely be back soon!

Update: 6/21/25 This is a four and half stars. We haven't been here in awhile. I believe there is a new owner. I believe breakfast is a new thing tlfor thus restaurant. We decided have breakfast. I started with an espresso which I really enjoyed. I had Tony's steak and eggs. Eggs over medium. I had hashbrowns and a side if bacon and a biscuit. We also had the Farmers omlet with hashbrowns and bacon and marble rye toast. I am one of those people who like a well done steak. This was cooked perfectly. Well done, not dry. Very juicy and flavorful. They know how to cook a steak. I like my eggs over medium and bacon crispy. Both were perfect. Service was very good. Folks are very friendly. The ambiance was very casual. We will definitely be back for breakfast. Excellent food and Service. Restaurantis clean and folks are friendly. Food is delicious and well seasond. I am a fan if there specials listed on the board as you come in. Love the lamb shank. Tender flavorful and meat just falls off the bone. I am a big fan if there French onion soup. There stuffed eggplant is a major winner. Something worth trying. Amazing flavors. We had the calamari, the Greek souvlaki platter was delicious. The half chicken caught my eye. I will try that next time I go back. We also had a spinach inlet and a Greek burger. All were well seasoned and delicious. I haven't been here in a while. Not sure why. But we will be coming back! 4/6/2023 Tried a pepperoni and green pepper pizza which was really good. We also had chicken souvlaki platter which was ok. The trio dip was very good. Service is great as usual

The server Lefty hahaha... Just telling us that he was completing 47 years of service at this restaurant tonight. We come here frequently, it's always a pleasure, always five stars across the board... no better place to sit, relax and enjoy a meal and good company. An added bonus is that this restaurant, unlike many others, is service animal friendly. I can't wait for my next visit, it's a big menu lots of things to try.

We are longtime customers of Anthony’s. The new ownership (since 2024) is continually upgrading the food, ambiance and atmosphere. It’s a fantastic dining experience. A great Friday night date place, and a really great lunch joint. Keep meaning to try them out for breakfast. Their homemade Greek bread (sold fresh by the loaf) and their freshly made in-house orange cake are literally to die for. A great Galls Church destination.

I’ve been eating at Anthony’s for over 30 years, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal! Whether I’m dining in or taking my food home, the quality and service are always top-notch. Anthony's has a wide variety of food including burgers, pizza, gyros, seafood, and sandwiches. The smash burger was the best burger I've ever had, hands down. The staff was super friendly and took amazing care of my party. There was no wait to be seated during the peak dinner rush on a Sunday. Overall, 10/10. I wish I could come here more often.

Friday (10/24/2025) was the last visit Anthony's for me. Since 1976, I have enjoyed the variety of dishes and the price point, considering inflationary factors. Since Tony and Faye retired, there have been several changes to include recipes, portions, and prices. However, I will give the owner credit for the appearance of the restaurant. I stayed positive over the past several months supporting the new owner and his decisions while trying the various dishes. Friday, I had one of my favorites over the years, the gyro platter. The portions compared to previous owner's: meat 70%, fries 90% and salad was about the same. The taste was bland. These ratios are true for the past 12-14 dishes I've had in the past 6 months. The restaurant was less than 50% full. I am unsure if this is a reflection of the changes or just generally given that it is more expensive to eat out these days. To me, the restaurant does not cater to the younger families anymore. The restaurant is becoming more like Maggiano's price wise, but not like the quality (I am not a big fan of Maggiano's). I would also advise that the owner claims the Yelp account so he can read and address the concerns regarding the long-standing customer base the restaurant once had. I am rating this a two as the servers are the redeeming quality.

(September 2025) My wife and I have had dinner here several times, but earlier today was our first time here for brunch. Dinners we've had include the gyro platter, a few of the pasta dishes, the pizzas, smashed burgers, and the steak & cheese. We've also had the garden salad, Caesar salad, as well as some of their desserts. Earlier today for brunch, I ordered the chicken & waffles ($17) which comes with a side of hot honey. My wife got the greek omelet ($15) with the fresh fruit and biscuit. Like our dinners, our brunch was excellent! All of the servers are really friendly and we are always greeted with a smile. Can't wait to return (again)!

Friends ordered pizza and had it delivered. It was Good Friday so I requested mushrooms. They ordered 1/2 and 1/2 with meat. Order was completely messed up. Meat everywhere.

I haven't been to this popular local restaurant in a while. We had a good size group and we were very happy with the service and the ability to do separate checks. They specialize in Greek and Italian food. The menu is large plus they have specials. We devoured the garlic bread. We enjoyed crab cakes, Greek salads, spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken sandwich, ravioli, Italian combo, French dip. Big portions equals many to go boxes. They have a fabulous selection of desserts. They do a solid takeout business too. Really nice bar area and plenty of seating.

Breakfast is great the food and service all could not have been better. Seems dinner recipes have changed since the new owner took over many months ago. Did not care for the (manicotti) entrée the garlic bread was hard and tasteless and the the dining room was grossly understaffed for a Saturday night. So disappointed in the food and the service. :(

Loved this restaurant until the new owners took over several months ago. The portions sizes are so small for the price. I always enjoyed the steak and cheese sub in the past but now there is barely any meat in the sub...not much cheese. I basically was served a greasy lettuce and tomato sandwich. The meatball and cheese sub was awful. Now it consists of four party sized meatballs (previously the meatballs were extremely large) which didn't have any flavor and not much cheese. The sauce was overcooked and tasted burned. Unfortunately, the cost exceeds the taste and portion size that I won't be returning.

Second time in 2 weeks we have gotten takeout from Anthony's. Unhelpful and rude man at front desk dealing with takeouts. Just found a big hair in the fettuccine Alfredo. They forgot a side salad.

This beautiful jewel box was born the year I was born in falls Church . I came to know the place through my husband who had been going there for years. It quickly became our regular place to connect before we had our son. Our son grew up taking an ice cream from their fridge without telling anyone about it and assuming that it was his right to do that whenever we went there.Mr. Mr. Anthony and his amazing family always made us feel at home and now that we have moved to California what we miss the most about Virginia is our little hub! Wishing you guys much success for many many years to come, and thanks for so many wonderful memories in your place.

Just went back to see how the new management has affected the restaurant food. Ordered the Greek Combo for take out. Portions are much smaller than before, maybe because all restaurants are doing that now. The internet says two dolmathas (like it always has been) only one included, spoke to mgmt, now only one dolmatha, mentioned they may want to update the internet. The mousaka was okay, a lot of potatoes and not much eggplant, typical for store bought. The pastitsio was quite good, like before. Want to try their pizza again. In summary, much of the food is still good, but portions are getting smaller so plan for that--maybe order more items.

I had been coming to this restaurant for at least 15 years, even when they were situated at a different location in Falls Church. However it had been at least three since I had returned, and today I had a craving for one of their gyros. I drove over and ordered the gyro with no onions from an awesome female cashier who was working the register today. I ordered it to go but in hindsight I probably should have dined inside of the restaurant just because of the super friendliness! The prices here have definitely caught up with inflation and it was definitely worth it for that awesome smile! The gyro was great and I was glad to come by here today. I thinking that I should come back soon fto order my second favorite Italian food spaghetti with bolognaesa sauce.

Excellent service with extensive menu options offered. We ordered pizza, eggplant Parmesan and Anthony's salad. Pizza was cooked perfectly. Everything was great. Just wish for $17 there was more gyro meat on the salad.

New management...so sad it's not the same. I've been eating at Anthony's for 50 years. I'm not writing them off just yet because I can't let go...but portions are ridiculously much smaller. Just a single example - meatball used to be 1/2 - 3/4 cup size - GIANT for the 2.50 extra charge - now $2.50 meatballs each are a spoon full of meat, about 1/4 the previous size. Shrinkflation and new management - too bad.

Delicious food at a very reasonable price. White pizza is loaded with cheese, add mushrooms and Kalamata olives for a mouthwatering treat plus anchovies if you are adventurous. Pork chops are delicious. Service is friendly and very accommodating. Facility is clean and has off street parking.

Have been going to Anthony's for 30 years and absolutely loved the place. The restaurant is under new ownership now. Met the owner and he was very friendly, I want them to do well so thought we'd try them out. Ordered two cheesesteak subs to go and found they were very very salty, almost the point where we could barely eat them. I've ordered cheesesteak subs at a hundred different places and they never tasted like these. Disappointing to say the least, as this was one of our fave restaurants. Won't write it off yet, but a pretty bad first experience.

Sad to say we will not be going as often as we used to. The sandwiches are good, but no longer come with anything! Chips are now extra!!! Prices have gone up everywhere, but we could count on an affordable option at Anthony's, no more. Prices now compare with much nicer restaurants so we will go to a much nicer place instead for the same price.

I know that people love this place, but I've been here several times and the service is terrible every time. The Italian food is not memorable, by any measure. There are too many other excellent Italian restaurants to spend money here.

Evidently the new owners didn't get what made Anthony's great. The dolmades shrank in portion and in quality and taste. The good cheese on the pizza is now like everywhere else. The Greek burger doesn't have the flavor and texture it did and the feta is now small and not good quality. Probably won't be going back.

Anthony's is under new ownership. There are changes as expected. Almost all of the old stuff is gone. Unfortunately, with grocery prices going up, so have the prices. Still very nice, just not the same. New ownership is a family environment and very friendly, but miss Fay and Tony. Wish the new owners well and best of luck they enjoy another 50 years as the last owners did.

Outstanding souvlaki pita wrap. Huge menu, something for every taste -- reasonable prices, good service. Speedy WiFi, once you puzzle out password!

Updating my review to reflect the ownership change. Same great food, but now I can order a cocktail and listen to some jazz. What's not to like? I really appreciate how they kept the same great staff as well. Maybe my favorite thing about Anthony's is how my kids loves the broiled tilapia and mixed vegetables. Hard to say no when your kids love healthy food at a place that has something for everyone.

I do not recommend . Unfair treatment . Very rude mean staff/owner/manager and sanitation of restaurant is not good . 3 major issues . First of all we got harassed by waiter for not leaving a tip which I'm sorry but correct me if I'm wrong tips are voluntary and not obligated as far as I knew . I don't feel like anyone should be made feel bad for coming out with just enough money for the food . But main reason why we didn't tip is because first of all we found a hair in one of our entrees and we gave to our server . She confirmed it was not our hair so then entree was taken off our tab and the entree was RETURNED TO KITCHEN . Upon closing out our tab up front the manager/owner . Yelled at me very aggressively in front of the whole restaurant calling me and my friend a liar regarding hair and a saying a bunch of other mean things to us . I'm sorry but they could've checked the cameras and seen I pulled the hair out food and gave it to server . Then he banned us from his restaurant...even tho we did nothing wrong . Sanitation in the restaurant is not good, clearly . I have never been treated as such at a restaurant

Good service and nice setting. Typically I'm here for breakfast while my car is getting maintenance done nearby. Food was ok, and a bit overpriced. Plus $4.00 for regular coffee? Will look elsewhere in the future.

I got the Oklahoma smash burger via takeout. It was good at first, incredibly juicy, but within an hour I had severe food poisoning

Very friendly. Service is fast and they check on how your doing. The pizza has a good ratio of cheese to sauce and the crust carries off the challenge of having enough thickness to carry the toppings but not too thick to be all bread.

The restaurant is definitely an accessible place to find, when walking it it's very casual" . The menu was extensive: Greek, Italian and American. They literally have something for everyone, which is great. My hubby and I shared a bottle of a mixed red, it was yum. We got mozzarella sticks & the medi trio dip for appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were AMAZE, the dips not so much. The texture was very think and chunky for all 3 dips. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo, which ended up being yummy. The downside was that they had to give me my meal twice due to HAIR being it in the first time. They were sweet and replaced the meal. My hubby got the chicken parmesan sub, which he said lacked flavor. We also go to go boxes, which 1 had HAIR in it again. Would we go back, maybe? but i'm now freaked out with having two incidents of HAIR in one sitting.

Sandwich was horrible avocado not. Tasteless, bun not toasted globs of mayonnaise. Why ruin a classic BLT with the insipid additions

Fried calamari, large rings, lightly coated, best of its kind Fried zucchini, fine but needed thicker spears of zucchini Stuffed grape leaves with meat and rice, nicely thick pieces and a very competent lemon sauce Bogatsa, gently sweet; ask for it warm for best effect

The spanakopita ($21) had small hard things (burned spinach perhaps) inside, so I didn't finish it. The Greek salad was not very fresh or flavorful. Service was satisfactory.

Just had a Soft shell crab and fried oyster sandwich. Come in and try it before they go away. This place has awesome specials and changes menues every quarter. The Staff is friendly and so are the patrons. If you play the right songs on the juke box on a Tuesday, you may get live entertainment from the gorgeous bartenders.​

We have loved Anthony's for more years than we care to remember, and were curious - and hopeful - that under the new owners the level of service and quality of the food would be up to the standards set by Faye and Anthony, the prior owners. We were pleased to see a few upgrades in the ambiance: soft music piped in, some new greenery and new tableware, and the service remained the same as always. The food was also generally the same high quality: my chef salad was huge and delicious, with leftovers for another meal, but my husband was a little disappointed in his steak sub since he felt it was a bit heavily salted. Bottom line is based on just one visit, we remain hopeful that Anthony's will remain our go-to restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner. We plan to return.

when busy, service slacks off. food is basic , not well flavored. prices have creeped up after new owner. Environs are clean and modern. Better than nearby restaurants but not exceptional.

This is the place to eat ! The best Greek food I have ever had ! Impeccable service ; Mahin provided the best service and was fantastic So clean bathrooms spotless and a great atmosphere for anyone !

I remember having Anthony's subs when I was a little boy, it was outstanding then, and it is outstanding now! I came with family and got Babaganush, Hummus, Tatsiki and pita to start. All were just amazing, and the pita was perfectly toasted. Then we had the calamari which was also excellent. Lightly breaded and not too heavy. Of course I had the sub, which was delicious. The service was A+. It was a real pleasure to go to a place that has been consistently delicious for decades! A+!

Excellent service, huge portions, great food, great atmosphere. Would definitely return. Didnt love the grape leaves appetizer or the eclair personally, but everything else was fantastic. Didnt get a photo but meals also came with side salads. This is what restaurants should be - family-run, tastes homemade, friendly atmosphere. Please visit. They have at least one other location as well.

I've been going to Anthony's for over 15 years. The food is consistent and the service is great. My favorites include the chicken souvlaki, French onion soup and pizza. The chicken souvlaki has moist tender chicken with a hearty portion of feta, tomato and onion wrapped in a delicious pita. This is always my go to! Reasonable price for the portion. The French onion soup is very flavorful with an abundance of cheese on top. You can't go wrong on a cold day. The pizza is delicious. I always get cheese and I'm never disappointed. Takes a bit to cook but worth the wait. Pizza as a takeout is great too. Leftovers heat up well. Don't skip the baklava for dessert! Easy lot parking and clean restaurant with lots of space. TVs to watch a game at the bar if you're interested. A big room on the side you can rent out too. I'll always be a customer of Anthony's. Koi

We went there first week of September and the food was very very soggy and greasy and no taste. Reported to the manager he was very very rude and did not seem to even know what the food ingredients were. He did nothing to help us or to make up for the lousy food, no apology no nothing, just a very very rude bad attitude. This restaurant used to be a good place to eat but not with people like him managing it we will not return.

I belong to a local professional group that has meetings here. About 25 people ordered meals off the menu at the same time. They have an extensive menu that features Italian and Greek dishes. I ordered the Moussaka. I received a Greek salad as an appetizer. The Moussaka came with rice. The salad was fine; it had lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese. The Moussaka was decent but it was barely warm. I like hot foods to be reasonably hot. The service was excellent. The staff served drinks before the meal. Attendees were separately billed. The staff was efficient in preparing checks and processing payments. Some of the other dishes looked good particularly, sandwiches and Italian pastas. I plan to return with a much smaller group.

This place is absolute garbage. I ordered a gyro sandwich and fries almost $20. The sandwich is literally a big blob of lettuce with mayo and some slices of gyro meat. Please do your self a favor and go somewhere else to get food. I want this place to be good cause I live right next to it but save your money.

Food and service were both excellent. The restaurant is clean, and the patrons are kind. The food is wonderful and perfectly seasoned. If there are deals advertised on the board as you enter, I am a fan. The lamb shank is delicious. Tender, tasty, and the flesh literally slips off the bone. I am a huge admirer of French onion soup. The stuffed eggplant is a big hit. Something worth a shot. Flavors that are out of this world

The Steak & Cheese sandwiches here are very good (not to be confused with a Philly Cheesesteak, which usually has steak and cheese and onions, but no lettuce or tomatoes or mayonnaise). The cannoli here are great as well. The staff are nice, and the paintings and decor are nice, as well as the interior of the building itself. I do think, though, that they could do a lot better in offering a much better soda selection (including organic soda options, more Italian sodas, and more of a craft beer selection). There were also no electrical outlets at the booth where I was sitting or the ones near me. Other than that, all else seemed pretty good to me.

Where do I begin to rave about the amazing Service, Food and Ambiance we experienced at Anthony's Restaurant for my Mother's 80th Birthday!! Anthony's has been a Family tradition for over 50 years. We always enjoyed seeing Faye and Anthony when we were at the restaurant celebrating many Birthdays or just having a great meal, served by a wonderful staff!!! When I went into the restaurant, several weeks ago and reserved space for my Mom's Birthday, I was sad to hear that Faye and Anthony sold the restaurant for a well deserved retirement. However, I had the pleasure of meeting the new owners Elena and Peter Fotopoulos and reserved the room and planned for the party. Please let me say, they did not disappoint!! They took my reservation, helped me with the menu choices and set me up for a party of 36 people. When I arrived everything we discussed about the set up was addressed. The staff was amazing and they catered to our every need. I was concerned that they were not going to be able to serve 36 people without significant delay. To my surprise they came through and exceeded all my expectations to ensure my Mother had a wonderful 80th Birthday. Peter went above and beyond to ensure the event was extra special. The food was amazing as usual with many of the original menu items! The baked spaghetti was fabulaous!! And the bread to die for!!! I am pleased to say that me and our entire family will continue to make Anthony's our go to Restaurant for major celebrations and a really welcoming dinner evening out. Thank you to Elena and Peter for keeping up the tradition of Anthony's and adding your own personal touch to make the experience even better and extremely enjoyable!!!

This is my come-to restaurant when I'm hungry for home-cooked meals. Currently enjoying beef stroganoff. Love their bean and the beef-barley soups. Generous portions. A pleaser.... Their lamb meals are wonderful and their sandwiches are equally as good.

A disappointing experience tonight.. My wife ordered soup but found a piece of metal in it. It was difficult to flag down the waiter and we had to suggest that the soup be removed from the bill No one from management came over to speak with us. When my wife got up to talk to them she was told that they were too busy. An unfortunate occurrence that was handled poorly.

Wonderful food - very tasty, authentic pasta dishes - so happy for Tony and his family that Anthony's continue to serve the Falls Church area with excellent food for many people - great memories
