Yelp
Friday (10/24/2025) was the last visit Anthony's for me. Since 1976, I have enjoyed the variety of dishes and the price point, considering inflationary factors. Since Tony and Faye retired, there have been several changes to include recipes, portions, and prices. However, I will give the owner credit for the appearance of the restaurant.
I stayed positive over the past several months supporting the new owner and his decisions while trying the various dishes. Friday, I had one of my favorites over the years, the gyro platter. The portions compared to previous owner's: meat 70%, fries 90% and salad was about the same. The taste was bland. These ratios are true for the past 12-14 dishes I've had in the past 6 months.
The restaurant was less than 50% full. I am unsure if this is a reflection of the changes or just generally given that it is more expensive to eat out these days. To me, the restaurant does not cater to the younger families anymore. The restaurant is becoming more like Maggiano's price wise, but not like the quality (I am not a big fan of Maggiano's).
I would also advise that the owner claims the Yelp account so he can read and address the concerns regarding the long-standing customer base the restaurant once had.
I am rating this a two as the servers are the redeeming quality.
