My husband and I visited and were greeted with Welcome Home🖤. That's when we knew we'd like this place. The menu had a great selection and was even accommodating as well. The coffee was really good and strong. I got The Yams and got The D'Angalo for my Mother in law. This will definitely be a shop we back to every time we come back to Memphis.

There is no better coffee in the city of Memphis. Strong coffee, stronger mission. Huge fan and supporter of everything Renata and Bartholomew are doing. You can tell it’s their calling. Excited for the new location to open.

This incredible coffee shop has it all. When I walked in, I knew that this place was something special. From the personal photographs to the black art on the walls, this coffee shop expressed so much. It reminded me of a special bookstore in D.C. near Howard University’s campus called Sankofa. This place is a place for us. Even if you haven’t been there yet (and what are you waiting for?) once you walk in, it feels like home. For hot coffee, I recommend Black Both Sides or Guji Mane. It is some GOOD coffee! This time that I recently went, I had the Gold Brew. It was amazing! I don’t even like cold coffee that much. But this, was worth every penny. I also had the Buttermilk Babes Red Velvet cookies. Those were pretty darn good, too! I want to also shoutout Sidney, who took our order. She was perfectly helpful, patient and friendly. Places like this mean the world to me and to the culture. I cannot wait to go back!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We were greeted with a “welcome home” when we walked in, and were treated as family. The coffee is out of this world, tea is so good, and they source as much as they can locally. I love everything they do and everything they represent, it is a MUST if you’re in Memphis. When I’m here, I feel like I’m at home. I come here during my work meetings and to complete some paperwork. I also buy my beans here for my morning espresso pulls. I’ve observed that every customer who visits are greeted and treated like family. The beans are too tier, far superior to the other beans I’ve used to pull espresso at home! I cant speak much on their lattes because I’m a straight espresso type of guy.

Had a great coffee experience this morning. The D'Angelo Latte was a great cup of coffee. I enjoyed the balance of flavors:cardamom, sea salt and the espresso were very balanced. Service was awesome. The barista and others were very kind and helpful. Super nice and chill. The place has a cool vibe with super relaxing music. Bathroom was nice and clean. The shop has a bar with chairs, tables and chairs, a comfy sitting area, a couch and love seat. The decor has many pictures that are unique and original. Very cool set up. It was quite busy when we came. I will return to try other coffees. I really enjoyed my visit.

This place is something truly special and is exactly the type of business we should be supporting. By helping to explain a lesser-known aspect of the history of coffee and by providing a quality product with excellent service, this establishment demonstrates the power of community. I had the pleasure of enjoying a latte recommended to me by the barista and although I can not pretend to be an expert in coffee, it was the best latte I have ever had. The coffee beans are roasted well, and the drink balances sweetness well. I immediately purchased beans for my machine at home. The ambiance in the building feels so welcoming. The vibes were immaculate as I sat there talking to the staff about TV and anime we both enjoyed. There is a real passion that exists here. The generosity of the business also blew me away. The merchandise/apparel they offer also got me, as I bought a hat too.

Can't believe I had never been here!! Right from walking in, felt at home!! They seem to be super intentional with the atmosphere in there, and I really love it!! Jay behind the bar was so friendly and knowledgeable! Everyone that came in behind us was also greeted like family! We got a pour over and a cortado -- both of which were fantastic! Can't recommend enough! The definition of a neighborhood coffee shop! Plus a cool mission behind the business

*The new address is 3386 Bowen. CxffeeBlack is a very welcoming and cozy coffee shop. The interior is clean with natural lighting, offering several warm and cold beverages to choose from. The staff is kind and friendly. There are several coffees with their own unique names, blends, and flavors. The coffee is also available to take home, along with merchandise and literature about the origins of coffee itself with the message of supporting community and black coffee. Definitely check it out!

They have mix drinks coffee i think tea also it was a food truck there also its a business but a non profit there was a beat battle i had fun my husband was one of the beat makers

Great coffee and I am a coffee connoisseur! The best espresso drinks! Loved both the yam and brown sugar. We were visiting Memphis and our visit to this coffee shop gave us a warm glow. We enjoyed sampling their coffee products. We brought home coffee beans, canned coffee drinks, coffee spice rub. Glad we also got the local smoked spinach dip. Last but not least, thanks for sending us to Crumpy's for the Memphis wings experience!

"Welcome home." These were the first words we heard when we walked in to cxffeeblack this morning. We were the only patrons in there at 9:18am this morning and Bryshard welcomed us like old friends. We found ourselves in deep and meaningful conversation as he shared the story of Cxffeeblack and the impacts they're making both locally + globally. We settled into the comfy couch as Bryshard put together a couple of to-go carafes for a customer, sipping delicious samplers. Before we knew it, the place was bustling and full of life. We met a local named Bob (Hey, Bob!) and we found ourselves in another deep conversation. Then, the owners came in and Bob introduced us. It was then we fully understood the meaning of "Welcome Home." We were embraced with hugs so full of warmth and love, and I knew we'd made the right decision to come to Cxffeeblack. We typically go to places for the coffee, but this was just as much about the experience and sense of community, mutual respect, and friendship emitting from this little joint. After all was said and done, we spent 90 minutes in here, but it felt like days due to the good vibes of everyone inside. Oh, yeah, and the coffee is top-notch, almost on another planet. Run, don't walk, to Cxffeeblack. Thank you, Renata + Bartholomew, for this beautiful space and community you are building. "May your house never lack coffee nor peace."

This is actually what a coffee shop should be for those really into coffee! I think the person helping me was the owner. He answered questions, knew the answers and the coffee (Guji Mane Uncut) had flavors I have never experienced (in a good way). I highly recommend and will be back! I recommend you take a trip there!! This should be listed as a highlight of Memphis!

I was so impressed by this place and into the conversation and coffee that I left without paying! I can't find a number to call but I hope you all see this to know I'll be back first thing after work or in the morning to pay for this delicious coffee I walked out with!!

Home. This is a place for coffee and family. The coffee is on point, no doubt. But when I remember this place, I'll always remember how I was welcomed home. Go see.

This place is too funny. I'm not even gonna get into the whole anti-gentrification bit. You know you sell $4 coffee, right?... Do the locals pay that? Anyways, they're nice people - talk your ear off too. And the coffee is actually amazing. Just amazing. We've been here many times. And will continue to visit for that coffee.

Snagged a guji mane bag at the CY farmer's market a month ago I think? Been meaning to try this place out for a while, but it's summer, and I'm busy with work. Anyways, incredible coffee! I'm a transplant from Portland, OR and I'd say their coffee is up there with quite a few roasters I've purchased from back there. Try their canned gold brew too, fantastic stuff and highly recommended!

This was my first time here and the whole place was sort of abuzz with positive energy. I was looking for some coffee for house guests and Jay helped me decide. He was very knowledgeable about the process and the tea and ingredients they have to offer. I will definitely be going back soon.

Service is great and friendly. Most welcoming coffee shop I have been to. Good coffee. I will come back the next time I am in Memphis. I wish we had a place like this in Dallas. It's a great neighborhood hangout place.

My girlfriend and I drove out to Memphis for my birthday trip and had the most amazing experience here. From the moment you walk in you're welcomed and treated like family. Everyone here is very gracious and hospitable. The drinks here are top tier and we're definitely excited to come back.

I just went to Memphis for work, and I was amazed by this little spot. For starters, the coffee rocked my world. The complexity of the flavor was like nothing I've ever had. And the knowledge and passion of the staff shows through everywhere. Their commitment to an all Black coffee sourcing chain, and their dedication to sharing their knowledge with young Black baristas is beautiful. And the actual space has a relaxing, welcoming vibe for all. I can't wait to come back. I also bought all my travel gifts here--great coffee stuff and swag!

Went in here with a friend for this first time this week. Had the D'Angelo latte iced and it was the best iced latte I've ever had in my life. Will definitely be back. Amazing and hospitable customer service! Very cozy shop as well with cool merchandise.
