We stopped by Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba and ordered a Margherita pizza, and it was absolutely worth it. The crust was light and perfectly baked, the sauce had that fresh tomato flavor, and the mozzarella melted beautifully. For such a historic place, the prices are surprisingly reasonable, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. There’s something really special about eating in a pizzeria that’s been serving food for centuries—it feels like being part of Naples’ history. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and you can sense the tradition in every bite. If you want a genuine Neapolitan pizza in a spot with historical charm, this is a must-visit.

Google
Amazing pizza in the historical part of town. The menu offers more than 100 different pizza options, and despite the huge selection, everything was served really fast. The waiter was nice, friendly, and clearly knew the menu well, offering helpful suggestions on what to order. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy excellent pizza while exploring the old town.

I was walking down a street that appeared to be ancient. I stopped abruptly at the sight of this gem. I told my significant other we should give it a try. We stepped inside and were seated immediately. It was cozy. I looked at the menu to see what was offered. The menu stated Servizio incluso for Coperto 2,00. In English, it was Service included for Cover Charge 2,00. From the Bar section, I ordered a Whisky ………………………………………………………………………………… € 5,00. Our server told me it was JACK DANIEL’S, which was perfect. From the Pizze section, we went with a Pizza Marinara …………………………………………………………………………….. € 6,00. It was Pizza w tomato, garlic, oregano. The Whisky was smooth. I enjoyed it. The Pizza Marinara was bigger than I expected. It had a distinct look and I was ready to try it. The first bite was incredible. The ingredients were simple, yet came together to form a phenomenal flavor. Every bite I had was delicious. Oddly, we wanted more. From the Pizze section, we went with a Pizza Marinara con Funghi …………………………………………………………….. € 8,00. It was Pizza w tomato, oregano, garlic, mushrooms. It came out fast and the flavor was just as phenomenal as the Pizza Marinara. The service was fantastic. Our server was fast. He was also friendly. Overall, it was worth the visit. I was blown away by this place. I hope to go again soon. Date of visit: 23/03/25

Literally some of the best pizza on Earth, if not THE best. Fresh, explosion of flavor from the first place that mainstreamed it. The gnocchi we had was equally as impressive. I would fly to Italy again just to eat here!

Google
Oops…Not the Best Pizza I’ve Ever Had We visited the place without a reservation around 6 in the evening. We tried to request a table for two inside, but only outdoor seating was available. We ordered two pizzas and a side; the portion sizes were generous. However, there was too much moisture in my pizza, and the bottom was burnt, which created a bitter taste. While the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the authentic Neapolitan vibe, the environment wasn't very pleasant due to the smells and flies from the street. I had high expectations for this place, but it turned out to be a pass for me. I do not recommend it, and I will not revisit this restaurant again.

Google
The oldest pizzeria in the world!!! First established in 1738 as a stand for peddlers, Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba was opened in 1830 in the town center at Via Port'Alba 18. Pizzeria looks very nice. We got one pizza to share (after eating all day. there was no chance to eat entire pizza each) Pizza was very nice but 1/4 of it was burnt on the bottom. (looks like it happens often) After eating (trying) 7 pizzas in 5 different pizzerias, this one is deffenetly NOT GREAT!!!

Emma W.

Google
Delicious pizzas! Both my partner and myself were very happy with our order. It is quite large for an individual pizza so watch out for the portion size if your appetite is not known to be huge.

Google
Food - Neapolitan style pizza done right. Pizza was fantastic and I enjoyed every single bite. The crust was super thin but not as fluffy as I expected it to be but it was still lovely. The toppings were all super fresh and the sauce was exactly how it should be just tomato. We did have one pizza that we did not like but that was something we ordered outside of our comfort zone so it is what it is. Service - Fast friendly service that was welcoming with a great sense of humor. Atmosphere - Great quiet atmosphere to enjoy some amazing pizza with my family. Overall I felt this was a great experience with amazing food at the place that started it all. Make sure you try the arranchini while you're there it's fantastic.

Yelp
This is where we ate on our first day in Italy, which happen to be near our hotel in Naples. I really wanted to come here, being one of the original places still here. I also had been dying to try a Mortadella pizza since the first moment I heard it was a thing. THIS WAS AMAZING! I loved every bit of it! We ate at 5 different pizza places the 5 days we were in Naples and this HANDS DOWN was my favorite pizza of all time! My fiancé had the pumpkin sauce pizza with bacon, which was also delicious. Very small restaurant, we could see the pizza being made and thrown into the small open faced oven. The service was great and I would recommend this place!!

Yelp
I took a trip to Italy and was excited to try the pizza, this place did not disappoint! Port'Alba is supposedly the first pizzeria ever, so coming to a catch a pizza and a slice of history was a must! There was a long wait but it was definitely worth it. The crust was warm with the perfect crunch, the cheese, mushrooms, artichokes, and olives were all meshed together perfectly. It was definitely a really good pizza. The pizzas also aren't as expensive as they are in the US, which is nice, but they don't slice their pizza? That was surprising to me.

Yelp
I've read about the oldest pizzeria in the world in Naples long before a trip to Naples was ever on the horizon for me. I added it to my list of "in case I ever visit this city" bookmarks, which finally came in handy. I made a resso for hubby and I for a Saturday night at 7 pm. I originally made it for 7:45 but we were in the area early, and were able to change it a few hours beforehand. It was still pretty empty at that time since people tend to eat later here. There was a seating fee of $2 per person, which we learned was typical throughout Italy (or at least all of the cities we had visited). We weren't too hungry so we ordered a fried zucchini flower and the classic margherita. The zucchini flower was way too oily, and the pizza followed suit. I did like the sauce but the pizza wasn't really anything special overall. The menu was also very overwhelming. There must have been at least 40 different pizzas to choose from and then another 40 different pastas. This doesn't even include the appetizers or meat dishes. It makes it hard to narrow down, which is what we were having trouble doing. The waiter came to check on us every couple of minutes to order, which seemed kind of rushed. That's also partly why we just got a margherita, but it worked out because we wanted to try the classic anyway. I would say if you want to come here just to say you've tried the oldest pizzeria in the world, then do it. But if you want better and less expensive pizza, then go elsewhere. You are in Naples after all, the birthplace of pizza.

Yelp
Amazing this pizzeria has been operating since 1738. What! I believe it's the oldest working pizzeria in all of Napoli. Everything we tasted was delicious. The owner Genaro Luciano was gracious enough to take a picture with us. There is a large picture of Gordon Ramsey & Genaro in the dinning room. But make sure you ask for BARRY he was our host & server. What a complete gentleman. He was able to recommend dishes took very good care of us through out our meal. He made our dinning experience world class. I don't need to say much about the food other than it's what you would expect and more. Absolutely delicious in every way possible. The pictures don't do the taste justice. Please make it a point to stop and eat here. Ask for Barry!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious pizza and very nice people who work here! The pizza was made fresh and was blazing hot which made it even better. It was ready pretty fast- I'd say about 10 or so minutes. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Napoli :)

Yelp
Super nice waitstaff, cozy downstairs area, food-OMG! So incredibly good! We also had an Aperol Spritz and a local beer.

Yelp
Great pizza and pasta at the oldest pizzeria in the world! I had the Paccheri alla Genovese and the 4 tomato pizza, both amazing! This place is worth a visit!

Yelp
This is the first pizzeria in the world and it does not disappoint. The pizzas were perfect and the assorted fried foods were delicious. Come hungry because the prices are low and the quality of food is excellent. Service was friendly and we loved our visit!

Yelp
Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba is a historic Neapolitan pizzeria that opened in Naples, Italy in 1738. It was founded by the Luciano Family. It is widely believed to be the oldest still-operating pizzeria in the world. The pizzeria initially existed in the form of street vendors who would make pizza in wood-fired ovens and bring it onto the street, keeping it warm in small tin stoves they balanced on their head. The current brick and mortar structure was built in 1830. The eatery's ovens were lined with lava rocks from nearby Mount Vesuvius. A payment system, called 'pizza a otto', was developed that allowed customers to pay up to eight days after their meal. A resulting local joke was that a meal from Port'Alba might be someone's last free meal, if they died before they paid. In the late 19th century, King Ferdinand II of Bourbon, best known as 'Re Nasone' ('Big Nose King'), would frequently visit the pizzeria incognito to feel the pulse and mood of the people. Today the pizzeria is owned by master pizzaiolo Gennaro Luciano. My wife and I visited Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba on our honeymoon in July 2018. We had been sightseeing all day and were now very hungry. We were seated at a table on the street for an al fresco dining experience. My wife ordered a red pie with smoked mozzarella, caramelized onions and fresh basil. I ordered a white pie with mozzarella, ricotta, baked cherry tomatoes, zucchini flowers and fresh basil. The pizzas were absolutely delicious!! With their fancy toppings, these were definitely the most artisanal pies that we had while we were in Naples. If you're ever in Naples then you simply must stop here to taste a bit of delicious history!

Yelp
Wow.. long wait but we'll worth it. Pizza was amazing! My bf and I shared a mozzarella and it was sooo bomb. Fresh tomatoes!! The dough was perfect and thin.

Neil R.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience, visiting Naples' oldest pizzeria. The food did not disappoint, we had a "Doc" pizza with (lots of yummy) mozzarella, extra olive oil and delicious yellow tomatoes, along with an amazing prosciutto mozzarella plate and a salad. The service was good, friendly and responsive. Nice atmosphere sitting outside under a tent, nicely shaded. I loved being there for the history, but the food was truly excellent.

Yelp
I thought I reviewed this place but must not have saved it. We were originally scheduled for a food tour but the company canceled last minute. Super hungry and disappointed we decided to go to a pizza place since we were in Naples. This place came up on every top pizza place place list we found, plus it wasn't far from where we were. It's down a small alley (not the scary kind) and the outside looks unimpressive, so don't be turned off by it. Our server was an elderly gentleman and we went with his 2 pizza suggestions. I also ordered a seafood pasta just in case the pizza wasn't good. Well, it turned out to be the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I can't even begin to describe how good it was. The flavor was amazing and the dough was just perfect. We made so many yummy food noises that our server laughed at us and everyone else in the restaurant looked at us as if were were crazy. I am not a huge pizza fan to begin with. I'll eat it if it's there but will not go out of my way to order pizza if there are other options. However, if pizza always tastes like this, I'd eat it every day. What was incredible to me is that here, pizza is pretty much the same flavor, even when the toppings change. The pizza there was a distinctly different dish, depending on which pizza you order. The pasta too was really, really good. Naples wasn't one of my favorite cities, but I would go back just to eat this pizza again!

Sarah O.

Yelp
Omg, this was not a tourist trap at all. It was for real the best pizza ever. Highly recommended to go there super hungry so you can get some appetizers as well. 10/10

Yelp
Absolutely the best pizza I've ever had. My husband and I had tried many pizzas in both Rome and Naples and this one takes the prize. 100% would come back to Rome just for this pizza.
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
Some of the worst service I've experienced anywhere. Waiter didn't try to remember any part of our order, gaslit us and our choices, made some offensive comments then didn't let us leave until he got a tip he was satisfied with. It was beyond uncomfortable from start to finish and left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunate since this was one of the places we looked forward to the most on our honeymoon.

Yelp
A delightful and memorable experience at a Napoli pizzeria icon. Two delicious folded pizzas to go for 4 Euros!

Yelp
Great find! And the pizza was perfectly representative of traditional Napolitano pizza! We had a traditional margarita pizza and also tried a fritto pizza. The house wine was a great complement to both....
google avatar

Bart B.

Yelp
After a week of eating pizza in Rome, this was a delight. The flavors were amazing. The dough is awesome. My 6 year old who has hardly eaten anything since we got here said it was the best pizza he's ever had.
google avatar

Toby L.

Yelp
WOW so fresh! so flavorful! I always figured the best way to experience pizza is with fewer ingredients that stand out (instead of excessive toppings). Here is the proof that even with just the traditional ingredients, there is a marked difference in taste. The mozzarella was my favorite part - it is just so fresh and the flavor is really distinguished. Then the sauce is so smooth and fresh. Finally the basil gives the perfect garnish and aroma. We were lucky to come during low hours and off peak season - only a 5 minute wait. This restaurant holds true to the adage: better to do few things superbly instead of many things mediocrely.

Yelp
This was my first time eating pizza in Italy and I was underwhelmed. This was also our last choice, because the other two places recommended to us which had stellar reviews were CLOSED, so this was what was left. Keep in mind maybe there's a placebo effect going on in my brain, being that I came here based on disappointment from the other places being closed and this was our last resort. I keep reading this was one of the first pizzeria's to open and that there's so much history to it but I would have never known based on my experience. I still think my experience at a New York pizzeria far surpassed here. Keep in mind Neopolitan pizza's are defined as such based on Wiki; "... made with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. It must be made with San Marzano tomatoes, which grow on the volcanic plains to the south of Mount Vesuvius, and Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, a protected designation of origin cheese made with the milk from water buffalo raised in the marshlands of Campania and Lazio in a semi-wild state..." I ordered the Pizza Doc (buffalo mozzarella, evoo, basil, cherry tomato). It was HUGE, could have been shared by two people. I thought Neopolitan pizzas were single servings, not American sized. Not what I expected. It was good, but nothing I felt stood out. Nothing tasted any different than artisan pizza places I have had back home. Maybe this whole "pizza in Italy" experience is only in the movies! Le sigh, from a mourning tourist.

Yelp
On a busy little street in Naples I found an excellent pizza! Full disclosure, I was looking for it. I had the pizza diavola, it's my go to pizza. They nailed it! Perfect crust, excellent spicy sausage and a wonderful sauce. The staff was friendly and the prices were good. I guess if you're said to be the oldest pizzerias in the world, you've probably had time to get it dialed in. *i reserve the right to come back for spelling and punctuation errors, glasses are a thing...

Yelp
The pizza was amazing and delicious and we got there when they opened, and there was no one yet, I do not know of the name of the wine but it was a red wine and it was great.

Yelp
Gave this place an honest chance. They open for dinner at 6pm. We got there exactly at 6 and waited. Around 6:05 they turned on the lights and let us in. At first everything went smoothly, with I ordering the gnocchi with salmon and the husband ordering spaghetti with clams, and strawberries for dessert. The food got to us in about 15-20 mins, and tasted fine, but not amazing. Average. But here's where the fun starts. It is known that dogs are common in shops and restaurants. My husband is highly allergic to dogs. Normally it's not an issue, but this place has no open windows or fans running. We had been waiting a while since our plates had been cleared for our dessert, but nothing was coming. Chefs were chatting in the kitchen, the restaurant was still pretty much empty. The check was placed on the table. No strawberries. When asked where the strawberries were, they made a lame excuse of a language barrier and said they were out of strawberries. I call BS, because 3/4 tables spoke English, our waiter spoke English, and they had said they were out of the small strawberries, and we had already compromised on their large strawberries. I don't mind so much that they were at, but I do mind waiting at my table for over 15 minutes while my husband is getting more and more allergic to the obvious lack of cleaning in this place. The waiter never checked on us after the plates were set, and simply took the plates away without asking us anything. So, this place gets one star for average food, crappy service, lying, and not having any circulation in the room. Would not come back.

Yelp
I was walking in this neighborhood and saw pizza on the table of outdoor guests and it looked so good I decided to order a Margherita - it was absolutely delicious and service was friendly and quick

Yelp
When in Napoli, you have to eat good pizza! We ended up coming here because postponed the pizza until our last night. This was the only place close to us that had a great review online for authentic Neapolitan style pizza without a long line in front of it. Online, we read that this was the first ever pizzeria and they make some of the best pizza in town. We came here closer to their closing time but they said they were still serving pizzas. The service was terrible. The waiter was completely bored and irritated by our presence. When he brought our wines, he slammed the glasses on the table. Although pizzas were amazing, we could tell he was waiting for us to finish to he could be done for the night. At the end of the night, when we paid in cash, he didn't even bother to bring the change back upstairs. If it wasn't for the delicious pizza, I would have rated this place one star because of the lack of any pleasant human interaction!
google avatar

Gianna C.

Yelp
This restaurant would have received a better review if the staff was more professional. The bread was delicious, probably the best we've had in naples thus far but the staff was rude and disrespectful. Being a group of 5, all women, we were not naive to what the male staff were saying to one another in Italian. inappropriate comments were being discussed between two young waiters until an older waiter told them to sTop. I would noT recommend a group of young women to eat here unless tthey want to feel uncomfortable the entire time. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that were just as good. Don't waist your time and money.
google avatar

Yelp
A perfectly fine pizza. Very good menu in English. Didn't appreciate someone dumping dish water (or worse) down the open drain near our outdoor table. What was all that excess water in the open seating area anyway??

Yelp
Best pizza ever. We had the diavolo and the doc. Both were amazing. Good service and really cheap.

Yelp
I arrived in Naples so hungry that I could've eaten an entire cow's worth of cheese. Port'Alba was my first stop, fitting considering the pizzeria is considered the world's first. Also fitting given the pizzeria's age of nearly three centuries was the service: slow as could be. I absolutely did not need a reservation. There were plenty of tables when I arrived at 3pm. Now for the pizza...The dough/crust was perfect. I could've eaten a pie of just the crust. Perfectly burnt and just a notch below my favorite crust at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, NY. Unfortunately, the interior of the pizza bogged down the delicious crust. The cheese was plain old bad and the sauce was extremely lackluster. Despite its title as the world's first pizzeria, Port'Alba is far from the world's best pizzeria.

Chris P.

Yelp
Very tasty neapolitan pizza. Seats and table a little bit uncomfortable but located in a very cool area with lots of bars to visit afterwards!

Yelp
Came here as our first stop in Naples after recommendations from guide books and respected American food writers who either live in Italy or visit here often. What a disappointment. The pizza is quite good (get the pomodori, not the lasagna), but the service was really sad. We ordered a bottle of Lacryma Christi Rosso. It's a respected local wine. The server arrived with another bottle and said the Lacryma was "finished." The other wine he brought instead? A red from Piedmont in northern Italy. I asked if he had a local red wine instead, and he told us, "no." How is this possible at a respected pizzeria in Naples? The Piedmont wine was decent, but that's not the point. We traveled here to drink local food and wine. The owner should be embarrassed. We figure the server probably has a cousin that works for Fontanafredda (the other wine he brought us, like Gallo in America), and he gets kick-backs for every bottle he sells. When he brought the bill, he told us that the tip was not included. When he brought the change, he told us again that the tip was not included. He needs to get better at reading his guests. Look at my nails, my shoes, my jewelry, my clothes. We are not ignorant tourists with no money, and I didn't appreciate being treated like one. I'm going to write Katie Parla and recommend she remove these guys from her list of top recommended pizzerias.

Yelp
A lot of things are closed on Sundays - supermarkets, stores, and apparently pizzerias. We were going to go to another pizzeria, but found out it was closed. We stumbled upon this find and decided to go in after observing a few locals taking their seats. Large selection on the menu from regional specialties like mussels and fried potato balls (crocche). We did not get any pasta here, but instead stuck with the pizzas and little appetizers. We got the DOC margherita pizza and a mushroom pizza. Loved them both. There's something about the tomatoes or olive oil or something here that made the pie just amazing. The restaurant is a member of AVPN http://www.pizzanapoletana.org/index_eng.php Two pizzas and 2 appetizers came out to be under 25 Euros and this is including a 2E service charge. Only negative that it took really, really long between our appetizers and pizzas to come out. The restaurant wasn't very busy either as we went after the lunch rush.

Yelp
We started here on our first day in Naples. Staff was okay, Mauricio was our waiter he warmed up to us toward the end of our dining experience. We were drawn here by researching the best and possibly one of the very first pizzerias in the world. To our surprise, my husband and I both agreed hands down the best pizza we have ever had.

Yelp
Grazie, Yelp, for this wonderful find in Napoli. I knew I had to have pizza since it was invented here, but many places were closed due to a holiday. Luckily our trek from the archaeological museum brought us to this charming neighborhood. My husband was shocked when I didn't order a margherita pizza, but I couldn't pass up artichokes. It had all the margherita elements anyways including a luscious red sauce, creamy mozzarella and fragrant basil. The crust was outstanding. Just the right amount of char with a soupy center that is typical of Napoletana pizza. The contrast in textures was beautiful. It was a large pizza, more than I could eat in one sitting, all for 5 euro. Yes, it was a little slow coming out, but I enjoyed soaking in the ambiance on the patio. It was the best meal during my Mediterranean cruise.

Yelp
Love pizza here in NY and try it everywhere so I had to try the FIRST pizzeria on earth (or italy). Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba in Naples is widely regarded as the city's first pizzeria ever. Not the most exciting place but the walk through the city and little streets getting there is fun and stopping in for a pie is the next best thing to do.

Erin E.

Yelp
We were walking around Napoli searching for a restaurant that was open at 6pm and found this wonderful place!! Although we saw it was supposedly the world's first pizzeria...we ordered pasta and risotto. We were not disappointed!!! I ordered the spaghetti carbonara which was the best I have ever had! My boyfriend had the salmon risotto and we both agreed it was the best he has had in Europe so far. Both with large portions and only 8 euros, a great deal! We ordered the onion pizza which was only 5 euros but had it to go which was an extra 5 euros. Although we didn't try it when it was fresh, a few hours later (and even the next day) it was absolutely delicious!! We both enjoyed a glass of red wine and the bill came to 37 euros!! And this was even with the to go fee. It was such a great deal and the waiter was a wonderful host who spoke enough English to carry a conversation. This was our first night out where every table was a tourist like us! Service was fast but we were not rushed at all. We would have ate there every night if that wasn't our last night.

Yelp
When walking down the Via dei Tribunali, you will end up at the Port'alba, leading to the Piazza Dante. When walking under this beautifal portway you will notice a terrace. This is the terrace of the Antica Pizzeria Port'alba, the oldest pizzeria in Napoli. Take a seat and enjoy the view while ordering the best dinner you will ever have. The Spaghetti with just tomato and basil is, obviously, simple, but so very, very good. After that a secondo or, of course, a pizza. The Pizza al Salmone was perfect. The crust baked to perfection -a little hard on the outside, soft on the inside-, the mozzarelle melted exactly as much as it has to. The salmon tasted -and smelled- like it had been grilled just a tiny bit, than put on the pizza. Everything at this Antica Pizzeria was perfect: the view, the staff (quick, but very nice) and, of course, the food.

Jerry S.

Yelp
I ate at this pizzeria in 1981 with a few of my shipmates from the USS Nimitz. What an awesome little place. The history of this place is fascinating. The pizza was not what I expected but it was still very good. The atmosphere was so Neapolitan that it made you feel like a local. It is an experience you must have if you are in Naples, after all how often does one get to eat at the very first pizzeria in the world.

Bob J.

Yelp
Pizza was good but nothing special We got the check and the waiter said they did not take credit cards. I did not have enough cash so waiter 2 leads me thru winding streets to an ATM but it would not take my card. We went back to restaurants and all of a sudden they took my card On the way out I saw AmEx VISA MC decals Looked to me like waiters stealing from boss Bad place Avoid

We ordered margarita and diavola. The pizzas were really good. The mozzarella was amazing and the food deserves 4*. The service was horrible. We ordered water, it never came. They took the olive oil and salt and pepper before we even finished eating. When they brought the food they said "here" instead of "here you go". The service is 1-2*. Food came quick and reasonable prices.

Yelp
Tucked away in the old entrance to historic Napoli is where you will find what's is regarded as the world's first pizzeria! And by far the best tasting pizza in Napoli. The service was kind and friendly, spoke both Italian and English. We shared 2 glasses of wine, and the margarita pizza. We sat outside along the alley way, and after dinner we got a great treat. We were able to go into the kitchen and see the oven that is over 90 years old. (Not the original oven, but still pretty old). A must stop when in Napoli!

Yelp
Service was with a smile and although we know zero Italian we managed to get by. My husband and I shared a margarita and 4 formaggi pizza. They were perfect and massive! My husband loves a crispy crust, I love a thick crust, these pizzas were crispy, doughy, thick and thin, saucy and not, all in the one. It really is the sort of pizza that would please the masses. We went on a rainy Sunday evening and were only able to eat in (no street pizza this day). Happy we did eat in, our pizzas + 2 glasses of wine (more in a glass than standard) came to €22 (including service charge) but worth a whole lot more!!! We probably waited only 5 minutes for our pizzas to arrive as well. Overall a 5 star pizzeria, worth paying a visit :)

Yelp
Yelp reviews led us here and the Pizza was amazing, wish we had gotten more food from this location. We were skeptical at first when we arrived but went thru with it. We needed something quick and this restaurant had a display of food outside of their store front where you buy your food. They fold up your pizza into quarter size before handing it over to you. I ate mine while it was still folded up and the other reviews are accurate describing chard pizza dough which had a great flavor. We bought pizza and walked up and across the street and ate in the park. We were a group of four and everyone loved their pizza. I wish we had bought a more variety of food after tasting how good their pizza would was. They had an interesting hash brown pie and also tiny fried pizza. They also have Diet Coke and water available.

Yelp
Great pizza one of my favorites from my time in Napoli. Servers were a little weird and slow but it was a great experience regardless.

Yelp
Great casual place. Pizza and pasta were awesome. Recommend Spaghetti Carbonara and any of the pizzas. It was the perfect low key but great Italian meal.

Yelp
Holy wow this restaurant was amazing! Came here with my husband and two little sisters. My sisters got gnocchi and penne with the port alba sauce. I got the linguine with muscles. And my husband got the pizza doc (margarita with tomatoes). All of these dishes were fantastic!! We highly recommend this place. Keep in mind that the food comes out European-pace, so you're going to be waiting a while. For my Americans, I understand that might be a struggle, but trust me it's worth the wait.

Yelp
This is by far one of the most amazing experiences I've had in naples and Italy overall. Before I get started with the food, I must talk about the amazing hospitality I felt in this pizzeria. I truly felt like I was sitting in someone's living room. The server was extremely attentive and very knowledgable. I was unsure of trying the buffa mozerlla so I played it safe and went for one of my favorites, margharita pizza. Not only was the pizza by far the best that I've ever had but the server was so kind enough to bring up some buffa mozerella for me to try along with my pizza. Such a great experience and I would recommend it to every and anyone.

Yelp
This is it! If you love pizza like I do and want to know where it all started, this is the place! The legendary Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba is the first and oldest pizza place ever! Prior to that, pizza was served by street peddlers, as it was later in New York prior to Lombardi's. Being a New Yorker, I know and love good pizza so this was like a religious event for me. This place was established in 1738 and opened in 1830 at it's present location as an eat-in restaurant. So cool to step into and be a part of such history. As always, had to get the regular pie, or Magherita as it is called in Italy so I can really taste the pizza without distractions of toppings. And it was fantastic, I had already tried 3 other pizzas in Naples, and this was the tastiest and juiciest of them all. And the crust wasn't too thin and watery like some of the others that when you pick it up just flops over making a mess forcing you to eat it with a fork and knife (happened to me in Sicily). This one can be lifted up and eaten like pizza is supposed to be, with your hand - just how the street peddlers would serve before there were pizza parlors, and the way all New York pizza is. But it is definitely very different from New York pizza, and any US pizza for that matter. I've had many different pizzas from different countries, and most non-US pizza is smaller, thinner, crispier, and usually has blotches of tomato sauce and cheese especially the coal oven type, and has a completely different texture and taste. And this is especially true in Italy where most places use real fresh unprocessed ingredients. And this is one of the best in Italy, at least that I've tried.
