Antico Forno

"Young crowds have been coming here in droves since 2013 for its famous thin-crust pizzas – from simple classics like Margherita to crowd-pleasers such as Tartufata. The chef learned his craft in Italy and his respect for tradition is evidenced by dishes like Ginocchio di Agnello alla Milanese, tender in texture and robust in flavour. The room feels homely and cosy, and many items are for sharing. The Italian wines represent excellent value." - Michelin Inspector

The four of us ordered three appetizers, one pasta, two pizzas of different flavors, and ended with tiramisu... The store owner's suggestions were very good, allowing us to enjoy the delicious food without feeling too full. It was a perfect dinner tonight!

Antico Forno is a standout spot for authentic Italian in Taipei. Service is genuinely caring, the atmosphere warm, and every dish leaves an impression. Booking ahead is wise and sharing plates helps maximize the experience.

Instant favorite! Awesome Italian cuisine in town. The only issue is hard to book.

Finally got to visit ANTICO FORNO, and it did not disappoint! We were seated at an outdoor table, but it wasn’t too cold, even on Christmas Day. Most of the dishes were excellent—standouts were the octopus, gnocchi, squid ink pasta, polenta, and lemon tart. The octopus was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. The gnocchi was another highlight—crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and featuring unique flavor combinations. The candied lemon tart was beautifully deconstructed with delicate lemon elements—absolutely loved it! The only miss for us was the apple strudel; the filling was a bit too dry for our taste. Overall, the service was great, and the lively dining environment added to the experience. ANTICO FORNO is a wonderful spot for special occasions.

Fantastic service, meals, and value! Marco and the team provided us with some of the best dining in Taipei. Pizza is a must, as is the octopus appetizer and the lemon desert. What a wonderful group of talented and kind people. Thank you for the hospitality! Cheers.

For a Michelin star restaurant, it's not expensive. Service was great, they accommodated us even tho we didn't have a reservation, but we were one of the first customers of the night, so your mileage may vary; booking ahead is recommended. The serving is just enough. If you only order a main course, there's a chance you feel unfulfilled, but with entree and/or dessert, it'll be enough. Flavouring was slightly heavy for my liking, but I still enjoyed it.

Google
Authentic Italian in Taiwan. Atmosphere is comforting and all staff are professional and friendly. Appetizer premium bread, octopus, and greek salad were delicious, pasta and pizza was very good too.. the final main dishes, pork was so delicious and tender and lamb was amazing. I think all dishes were made with Love... thank you Chef and team.

Yelp
Our second visit to Antico Forno. I was craving for some good pasta and they were only minutes away from where we are staying in Taipei. They were booked solid for a Sunday evening and we snatched their last table at 6:05pm without reservation. The service were great in the beginning, ordered our drinks and later food. The pasta and risotto dish came out pretty quick and were very tasty. But my pizza...was missing. Even my 2 year old finished his risotto (oh and he is a slow eater) and my pizza still not here. Waited for at least good 45 mins for the pizza after we received our initial dishes. No one came to our table to let us know there is a delay on the pizza (while waiting I've seem several pizzas going out the door for take out orders). I had to flag down one of the waitress. While we were waiting no one bother to come check if we needed more drinks or anything. Finally at 7:30pm the long waited pizza showed up! The pizza was decent but don't think it was worth the wait.

Yelp
Don't bother with this place. After reading reviews, I was tempted to try this restaurant. I walked it at 6:10pm (the restaurant opened at 6) and found myself in a deserted restaurant. I was promptly turned away by staff, claiming that the restaurant was full. When inquiring about when I could return, I was told that this restaurant was booked mon-sat and the only option was to make a reservation. As a traveler without an overseas phone plan and limited knowledge of Mandarin language, this is nearly impossible for me! It was obvious that they were not interested in serving me, as I wasn't even offered a space at the empty bar! I decided to take my business to La Giara nearby (which was excellent!).

Yelp
I've been here about 4 times now and I thought it was only ok. The pizza lacked more sauce , but good meat. The truffle pizza smelled great but again lacked flavor. The decor of the place is cute tho. It's a good place to check out if you are in the neighborhood but I wouldn't travel for it .

Yelp
The steak and pizzas were great, though the seafood spaghetti and risotto were ok. The cost of water and wine is quite expensive compared to other same level restaurants.

Yelp
Antico forno has authentic Italian pizzas. I've tried 4 different pizzas all of which were equally delicious with thin crispy bases. The atmosphere is friendly and the quality is really good. I would really recommend going here to try if you haven't already!

Yelp
Great food overall, and some of the very best pizzas in Taipei, served with inconsistent attention. I've dined in 2x and ordered takeout 10x+, and overall it's a fine spot to order takeout and average for dine-in. As with pretty much all hand-tossed pizzas in Taipei, expect to pay handsomely for the privilege of a fresh dainty-thin crust. The Antico Forno pizza is especially good.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went there for dinner. Very nice and cozy restaurant. The decor and ambiance reminded us of Italy and this is great. Every part of the menu was delicious. Even the oil and balsamic vinifiât with the bread was delicious. We ordered the meat salad which is large and copious. Then we had pizza. Both pizzas were delicious and worthy of their awards. One of the best parts was the wine. They only serve one red wine by the glass but arguably the best wine I have had in Taipei. A perfect fit for the food and full of flavors. We really enjoyed speaking with the managers and they are very friendly and careful to ensure you are enjoying yourself. Based on the other reviews, our experience with a couple of mistakes is to be expected but the staff make an effort to make everything just right. Before signing off, the chocolate mousse is absolutely by itself another reason to come to this restaurant. Another reviewer that the pizza was expensive but at under $12 USD average - I disagree. Everything seems perfectly price for an medium to upper scale foreign restaurant in Taipei. Overall an excellent restaurant.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. Me and my girlfriend came here for my birthday. We ordered 16 oz ribeye and pasta, the ribeye came a bit late but the waitress offered us free house wine to make up for the wait. I wasn't going to write a review cuz I'm a lazy person, but based on that wonderful hospitality I'm gonna give this place the best review I can. Plus the price is reasonable for the food you get. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurant live been to in Taipei

Yelp
I was CRAVING CRAVING good Italian food, and in Taipei there seem to be a lot of places that don't seem to realize that Italian pasta should be al dente (why, I don't know. Everybody seems to be able to cook Asian noodles to the perfect chew just fine, and yet pasta is often a soggy mess). Anyway I passed by this place a few times and finally went in to try it one evening. I was given a choice of a free beer - yay! Then I ordered the bufula mozzarella and arugula salad (I wanted the caprese but they were out). Omg, when that giant ball of cheese came out, I was in HEAVEN. HEEAVVEENNN. So good. I got the bucatini amatraciana and that was also delicious. Maybe a tad on the greasy side, but the pasta was perfectly cooked. I was so happy to have found an Italian joint that reminds me of the neighborhood Italian places I could find back in NYC! Will be back to try the pizzas (because I get pizza cravings often!)

Yelp
My favorite place in Taiwan. Real good authentic Italian food made with love. The decor and ambiance makes you feel at home and happy. The owner Augustine is an amazing host. His Motto is "no love no good food" the whole staff is welcoming and accommodating and kind. My favorite chef is Wayne. He is the definition of a foodie. This is a must stop when in Taipei.

Yelp
Without a doubt the best pizza in Taipei.. It's not even close. Pricey, but well worth it.

Yelp
Arrived at 7:50 and they wouldn't serve us saying that they would not have time to cook our food before they close at 10pm. We tried to get the hostesses attention to order a glass of wine at the empty bar and she wouldn't even look up and answer us. Nice. I would give zero stars if I could. First time in over a month we were treated so rudely in Taiwan.

Yelp
Nice Italian eatery. Everything on the menu I've tried has been surprisingly good. Even the olive oil and balsamic is of good quality, not the stuff you'd find at the supermarket. Seating area is a bit small, causing it to be a bit loud. However the place is well-kept and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Currently my top Italian eatery in Taipei.
