We stayed in this hotel just after it had been bought (it being formerly the Hotel Roma, I believe) in November 2024. Our room, a junior suite with a separate room, had been recently renovated. Everything was sparkly white/gray and the bathroom was spacious, by European hotel standards, and well appointed. We did have a bit of an adventure when the shower stall semi-collapsed during use, causing the door to jam and exit impossible. It took a bit of pushing and pulling to extricate oneself, but as no one was hurt in the process there was no harm done. The hotel's first concern upon reporting the issue was whether or not we were safe and unhurt so kudos to them for that. One thing of note that needs addressing by the hotel is the fact that the coffee cups are not large enough to accommodate the large cup of coffee offered as an option by the coffee machine, so coffee went everywhere on the first morning. Has anyone from the hotel stayed in the hotel overnight to experience first hand potential pitfalls and offer notes of improvement? This is always a good policy. The location was excellent; plenty of restaurants & shopping nearby so plenty of opportunity for exploring. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

This was the best hotel we stayed at in six stops across Sicily and Malta. The place is so luxurious and the room is gorgeous. They even have a pillow menu to select your optimal pillow type! The restaurant is in a piazza that connects to the main duomo so the location is perfect. We were able to walk all over Ortigia and we even walked out to the archeological park and back. The staff was so friendly. I loved the room amenities: they had shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, beard cream, shaving cream and body wash. Incredible. I'd come back here every year if we could.

An absolutely perfect hotel. From the moment you walk into reception (with that aroma - what do they use to make it smell sooo good?) you know you’re in somewhere very special. Our room was perfect, with a huge comfortable bed and a large light-filled bathroom. Breakfast is excellent (though you have to pay extra if you want cooked egg dishes) and the outdoor restaurant terrace by the side of the cathedral is idyllic. The type of hotel you really do not want to leave. One criticism is the TV - very complex system to try and cast to it from a phone. And it doesn’t always work. Twice we have called someone to mend it.

The Palazzo Artemide was just what we were looking for: an updated hotel that was quiet, yet centrally located in Ortigia. Our room was beautiful and the hotel was an easy walk to restaurants and places to see. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Sebastiano booked great restaurants and made excellent suggestions. The front desk staff - Erminia, Buna and Luca - was always there to greet us with a smile and help in any way they could. Ortigia is just the right spot for three incredible days in Sicily.

We stayed in the junior suite which had two rooms, a sitting area and a bedroom. The room was comfortable but the bathroom lacked hooks to hang your clothes so had to use the door handles to hang the clothes. Also the water in the bathroom was very hard so was difficult to remove soap from the face and the body. I had constant heating problem in my room, visiting in December, and after many complaints and days of sleeping in a cold room with a blanket supplied by the hotel they fixed the problem on the last day. The hotel is centrally located and waking distance to all the places with a grand lobby and sparse dining room where they did not have a breakfast buffet or served free breakfast, unlike the previous hotels we stayed in other places in Sicily. We had a rental car for which the hotel charged 35 euros per day which was more than the 30 euros we paid at other hotels. Also because we checked out about two hours later than the usual time, they charged an extra 15 euros for the car, which we did not have to pay at the prior hotels when we checked out late. In all we had a wonderful stay besides these issues.

Perfect location in this beautiful town, easy walking throughout the island, and very efficient valet service for parking. The highlight of our stay was Bruna at Reception; I had left my passport behind at a stop on the way, and she proactively handled the communication with the staff who had located the document and arranged for us to retrieve it, making a horribly stressful situation workable. However, all of the staff at the Palazzo Artemide was wonderful, pleasant and helpful, especially at the front desk, but including cleaning and wait staff. Would definitely choose this location for any return to Ortigia!

We stayed 4 nights in October. The hotel is in a great location. Right around the corner from the Duomo and on a nice street. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful. The bathroom was the nicest out of all hotels we stayed at in Sicily. The bed was very comfortable too. I’d highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

We stayed in July 2024. Hotel staff were outstanding - very helpful at organising / navigating us to all the things we wanted to see and do. They made this stay extra special. The rooms were clean, spacious with comfortable beds. Location - close by to all main attractions, easy to walk everywhere and fabulous restaurants close by.

Yelp
Wonderful! We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it more than our stay at Hotel Villa Athena in Agrigento, which was waaay more expensive. Service was outstanding, room was great and the location cannot be beat.

Yelp
Our group stayed for four nights and it was an enjoyable location. The hotel was clean with good air conditioning. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was very good with very good coffee. The hotel is located in the center of Ortigia so we could easily walk to restaurants and points of interest. This is a good pick for your stay on the island.

Yelp
Stayed here our first 3 nights in Sicily. Great location in Ortigia, we walked to everything. Asked for a view and were given a room facing the sea looking over the rooftops. Beautiful sunrises. Great breakfast buffet and wonderful staff attending it. excellent restaurants very close. Front desk was very helpful. We loved our stay here.
