Antico Hotel Roma 1880

We spent 3 nights at Palazzo Artemide back in April 2024 & liked it so much, we returned for 3 more nights in April 2025. This is an extremely well-run & attractive hotel, ideally situated within easy walking distance (10-12 min) to all of beautiful Ortigia. It’s surrounded by excellent eateries. A nice self-serve lavanderia (American Laundry Xpress) is just a 4-minute walk away.||Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious, bright & comfortable, with a balcony overlooking Via Roma - - a quiet street in the early morning & late at night, but a lively & interesting street the rest of the day. More noticeable this year were the mini buses zipping around the perimeter of the island. These can be taken to points further afield (to Siracusa sites, for example).||The breakfast buffet contained an assortment of delicious fresh food (including frutto intero!) & made-to-order coffee. You can sit in a large, bright & attractive indoor breakfast space, or fuori on beautiful Piazza Minerva which connects with Piazza del Duomo - - a stunning site day or night. ||The hotel staff at Palazzo Artemide is amazing: At breakfast, Louisa (who remembered us from last year) could not be sweeter or more thoughtful. Also wonderful were Paola, Alessia & Emanuel. The front desk staff (Bruna et al) was so nice & helpful. Even the cleaning crew - - all friendly, warm & professional. ||Palazzo Artemide checks all the boxes. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare! Grazie di tutto. ||Raffaele e Maria

From the time I’ve walked into the hotel the aroma was absolutely soothing. The staff are very attentive and pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, the bed was comfy & pleasant. I slept like a baby. And the shower was everything I hoped & imagined to be. breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend this hotel 2 thumbs 👍🏽 up with 5 starts!

What a fabulous hotel with exceptional customer service. The air conditioning was superb, you can chrome cast on the TV to make you feel at home. We even saw the concierge, I believe his name is Andreas, walk a sick guest all the way to the pharmacy to help her. The breakfast was delicious, beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet and the location was also excellent. My friend and I had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Palazzo Artemide truly deserves 5 stars for its service, location, and amenities. From the moment we arrived, Bruma and Andres went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect – their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference.||The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable, complete with robes, excellent air conditioning, and everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The location is unbeatable – within easy reach of all the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops, yet still offering a peaceful retreat.||A flawless experience from start to finish – we can’t wait to return.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Ortigia (literally backs on the duomo). Quite literally a palace. :-) - even though it's in the center, it's pretty quiet.|Navigating by car is a bit tricky - take it slowly in the narrow streets. Advise valet parking but there's also a large parking garage on NW of island.|Great room, super friendly staff, v comfortable bed and nice breakfast selection.

I came here with my family for a vacation and the first thing my kids noticed was the kindness of mr.s Luiza, they loved her, she made us feel at home and she was so patient with us. Overall the location was amazing and the service was wonderful. I totally recommend this hotel and we will happily come again soon!

This is a beautiful hotel.|Its clean and tidy, lovely rooms. |The staff are lovely, especially Andres on the front desk.|Perfect location. In the centre of the town and never a far walk from anything or anywhere.|Would highly recommend and will hopefully be back one day.

Wonderful! We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it more than our stay at Hotel Villa Athena in Agrigento, which was waaay more expensive. Service was outstanding, room was great and the location cannot be beat.

Our group stayed for four nights and it was an enjoyable location. The hotel was clean with good air conditioning. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was very good with very good coffee. The hotel is located in the center of Ortigia so we could easily walk to restaurants and points of interest. This is a good pick for your stay on the island.

Stayed here our first 3 nights in Sicily. Great location in Ortigia, we walked to everything. Asked for a view and were given a room facing the sea looking over the rooftops. Beautiful sunrises. Great breakfast buffet and wonderful staff attending it. excellent restaurants very close. Front desk was very helpful. We loved our stay here.
